We like the layout, and it will be good to use, but the pathfinder character creation doesnt give you anything past character stats. No races, classes, etc. Would love to use it when its more polished.
For us, it takes way too much work to set this in a usable state.
When we tap anyplace in on the Ancestries screen it wont let us pick or give a list but says New Not seeing what you’re looking for? Would you like to create a new Ancestry? Then we have to build the Ancestry.
It does what it says. After you manually input the rules yourself..
Easily the best part (in our opinion) of PrismPathfinder is the freedom to customize anything. Its basically an empty core rulebook were you fill it out how you want it. PrismPathfinder wouldve better (in our opinion) the best if it had all the information like Pathbuilder but with PrismPathfinder Compendium option to edit anything.
Honestly this app makes no sense and no helpful way to know how to use it. It seems like we have to make new for every character building option. As someone new to the game it makes character building harder than it probably should be.
If we wanted to type in every single feature Id just use a form fillable PDF. 0 content in the app, just a fancy UI.
Everything has to be done by hand except it will do ability scores.
Its got a great concept for an app design, but there are too many apps that all ready have all the content loaded and you dont have to fill in every single field. Would be absolutely wonderful if you homebrew every single aspect of everything.
The app doesnt even include any of the miles of free content. You could achieve the same effectiveness with the notes app.
Pretty much everything we tried to click, from info buttons to help buttons dont do anything. Overall the app is completely useless.
We love the app but theres a bug. The item bonus on weapon gives a HUGE number. Once entered the weapon has to be deleted. Workaround is subtracting a huge amount to get the correct modifier.
Nothing in the 2e creator worked.
We know this app is still being worked on, but its absolutely useless atm. We dont want to have to fill in every character class, race, feat, etc when we build characters. The only thing it comes with is languages. Honestly this feels like an alpha mode. Whats the point of putting out an app that isnt even close to a beta mode? The UI is nice, but we think they should have waited to release this. We guess Ill keep searching for a minimalist pf app.
While this app has a lot of potential, right now it is empty. As an example, there are no classes to select from,.. You must enter the info yourself. Until this is populated with information, we would advise you look elsewhere. Devs, thanks for trying and look forward to when you have something that actually adds value.
This is our first review, but Im sending it because we think this will be the future of D&D and Pathfinder character sheets and creation. This app is VERY bare, but we wouldnt let that scare you off. We know little about Pathfinder and much more about D&D, however, we decided to input the core ancestries, backgrounds, and classes. We ended up doing almost all of them based of how simple it was to copy and paste the information from online Pathfinder databases. We think if this app had all of the core elements in the compendium to begin with, this would be the go to for any DM (or GM rather) that is either new to RPGs, or is hosting new-to-RPG players. In our experience, character creation and character sheets have been the most consistent deterrent for new players. We believe that if you take the time as a DM to input some of the compendium information from the core rulebook, this is easily the best and easiest resource for anyone to just start playing and not get confused at a paper character sheet. Overall, with the developers help with the compendium, this app will be the best one for RPG character creation out there!
So the basics and bones of this app are great. UI is very smooth and intuitive, and it has appealing graphics. Only problem is its currently empty of content, which we get and have seen that they are currently working on it. Once at least the core role book material is uploaded we will be making this review 5*s. There is one problem that we do hope gets fixed soon other than lack of content. There doesnt appear to be any level up feature that most other apps have. And when we manually changed our level, we couldnt seem to add next level features we had added to the compendium. In stead it wanted us to just write it in again, and without all the usual fancy menus.
This app is pretty nice compared to alot of other character sheet apps. It is available on iOS and MacOS which is particularly nice. Major problems include a lack of feature discovery and missing cloud sync or functional imports. I’d really like to design a character on our MacBook and then use it with our iPhone when playing. Trying to add a character image from a file causes the app to freeze. We want to use this, but we are concerned it ends up abandoned.
No information for Pathfinder 2e at all.
No ability to factor in the Finesse trait for weapons into the apps calculations and lacks the Perception skill. The app needs serious fine tuning.
