We would pay again if we could add modifiers to the dice. Would love to add a custom die that was a d8 5 or d20-4. It looks like we can do it via the character sheet, if there is a way to do this from the dice roller we’ll gladly up our star rating :)
This app doesnt offer ANY worthwhile options in character creation. No artificer, a handful of races, even less bank rounds, 1 Wizard subclass, have to pay 10 bucks to do things like use dice and import files. If half the effort was put into creating a functional app as there is into putting in pretty colors, this would be the definitive 5e character sheet app. Instead its a waste of wifi broadband downloading it.
We have been using Prismscroll for years, we tried many (all that we could find) of the existing character creator apps out there, none truly compare to Prismscroll. We also highly recommend the PrismDM app (been using that to run our game for the past year and a half.) we need to give Sam a shoutout as the most responsive developer we’ve ever come in contact with. Im pretty sure he lives with a shock collar to alert him every time a question is posted on discord. His responses are extremely timely and helpful. Overall the app is excellent on both form and function with the ability to create pretty much anything you can think of. There is an active discord that is happy to share feedback and homebrew. Thank you for this app!!!
First we want to say that this app is amazing. It has an incredibly friendly UI, it is clean and easy to navigate/understand, it has no lack of pages to add information about your character. We even love the little celebration you get when you level up. The thing that kills it for us is the lack of depth. There needs to be more options for backgrounds, playable races, even subclasses needs more (Ive only seen one subclass per class) we bought the premium version because for what the app has is great, and what it offers in premium for only $10 is better. But we were hoping to unlock more subclasses and races with premium. Will the creators ever come out with more options?
We couldnt help but notice that there are a few race options like kobolds and the artificer class are not included Should probably look into that.

100% worth it. The UI is clean, the customizability is unmatched, the admin is helpful, and overall it’s god tier compared to alternatives. For those who can’t find all the content, it’s in a . Prism file in the official discord. You can also ask people to make homebrew in he app for you, which is nice.
We’ve been playing 5e for about 2 years and we’ve never needed another tool. The app is clean and concise, is constantly being updated to keep up with new WoTC releases, and its functionality is fantastic. For the casual player who dabbles in home brew, the ability to plug items into your sheets is simple and comprehensive. The character builder is vast and accurate, as well as convenient. We’ve made dozens of characters, NPCs, specialty items, and even monsters on here and theyre all easily accessible, customizable, and simple to browse and interact with. Im starting a campaign as a dm online and we’ve recommended all our players use this app for their character sheet instead of the websites integrated character creator. All in all its a well designed and well maintained app made by a stellar part of the community who understands what the player wants and how to give it to them in the most convenient and consistent way possible. And for times that youve got specific requests or recommendations, their discord is very active and the developer often does livestream Q&As to help further develop the app and keep in touch with the community.
We cant find races or spells that are past the first few books? We wanna play a tabaxi but we had to actually make a custom based on it to even play one.
Just downloaded this app in hopes of finding one more aesthetically pleasing than our current app but was disappointed to find out theres a ton of base game stuff missing. Only Druid class available is circle of the land and the only feat is grappler!
This has become our go to app now for keeping track and creating characters for our dnd campaigns! It has a very friendly UI, you can quickly create characters on the fly and you have all the customization options you need without being cluttered. Our one problem is the subclasses. So far, for all the classes we have chosen to go with, every option has missing subclasses. This is especially disheartening because, the subclasses we wish to use for certain characters are ones that are missing on the app. For example, the monk class is missing the Way of Shadow subclass and the sorcerer class is missing the Wild Magic subclass. If this small inconvenience was fixed in future updates, we would consider paying for the pro version of the app and ditching old fashion paper characters all together!
Overall we are a big fan of the app, but we wish that some things were not hard coded into the compendium and unable to be deleted. Playing in a homebrew world leaves a lot of clutter with spells or monsters that either dont appear or are different. Think the potential could be higher if that was able to be changed.
So we downloaded this app as an alternative to DND Beyond because we didn’t wanna buy the membership or the e-books, and was pleasantly surprised; the interface was pretty intuitive, quite aesthetically pleasing, and it gives you all character options for free (as long as you stopped by the discord server to download them) Until we wanted to make a third character. You’re only allowed to make 2 characters before it makes you either pay $10 (which is still cheap, since its a one-time purchase) or refer 6 people to get 1 more character slot. Id still recommend the app, but if you’re like us and mostly use online character sheets for the convenience of all your characters in one place, BE READY to spend the $10.
This app was fine for a literally a minute before it kicked us out in the middle of trying to make our character again for the 10th time it kept doing so we got mad and restarted our phone still didnt work dont use this plus the controls are way to difficult it will bug out so we right away deleted it.
We first tried the macOS version. It looked very promising and we started to make a character. We got as far as trying to set ability scores before we had a problem. We could set our Strength base ability score but trying to click to save and exit didnt work. The x in the close button disappeared after we clicked it and then did nothing. Do we quit the program and reopened it. Our character and progress was saved! No biggie, we tried to do Dex and it stalled in the same way. We tried to resize the screen and the app crashed. So we tried it on our iPhone. This time we got as far as tapping the x close button and the app crashed. We tried creating a new character with a different name, crash. We gave up after this. We wish it worked for us.
App crashes when trying to change abilities on the main sheet. We were hoping Id finally found a good dnd tracking app, but the crashes make it functionally unusable. Would love the app if it worked.
We would love to have given this 5 stars, probably would have, but their latest upgrade broke most of the things that made it amazing. Wish we had never let it upgrade. First, it freezes when you try to adjust the main stat totals (CON, INT, WIS, etc.) Second, cannot adjust the hit points on magical weapons. Third, the option to adding notes to a spell, so you can remind yourself it is a feat etc, is gone…?!? We understand wanting to make the ‘paper’ version better, but we didn’t buy this for a paper version, we can find a pencil for that… We bought it for a digital version.. We would not normall leave a review like this, but we contacted them, got no reponse, and now we are stuck with an app that has been downgraded!
It would not let us add anything without immediately crashing afterwards.
App crashes whenever editing any values pretty much, very annoying.
One thing we will say make sure to go to the discord and get the extra content they have way better! More races and classes to pick from! Other then that we found the app very helpful when making characters and finding what we like,
Its a great app but we dont understand why there is only the grappler feat.
We’ve just recently gotten back into DnD in the past year after a 20 year hiatus (played 2e) and have had to relearn everything. This app makes figuring out character creation a breeze. Someone had originally recommended a different app which we tried but we wouldve had to repurchase each book we already owned just to use the content in our characters. With this one, we did the download to get access to everything and we can make characters with all the options we have access to in our physical books. We did the one time purchase for the pro version of the app and now we can make as many characters as we want. Plus we can even have a downloadable PDF of the character sheet that we can print off and have in front of us when we play. We LOVE this app. Best resource for players that we’ve found!
Last we checked it was missing witch bolt from the spells list and doesnt have a multiclass option we could find so we still need to track certain details but gets the job done enough that we dont have to have papers in front of us. Fix those details and Id call it a solid 5 star. We did really like that we were able to import a pic of our mini from heroforge.
Over all it is a great ap for DND players. There are no ads and you can easily add homebrew content as well. Our only complaint is their data base is missing some content that is in official DND books, but you can still put it in manually so its not that big of a deal. Thank you to the creators, you guys did a great job. We look forward to using this for our next character.
We’ve been using this app for a couple years now and we absolutely love it! Its been an amazing tool to buying characters for D&D quickly and we’ve recommended it to friends that we play with :D 10/10 recommend this for people who are looking for a cheap digital platform to create their characters on (considering D&D Beyond can be quite pricey due to the fact that content requires the purchase of the books).
We play dnd online with friends and this honestly is such a life saver for us! Its easy to use and export character sheets. It makes character creation simple and very customizable. Totally worth it.
Hello! We really love this app, as a new player its helped us a ton with the stats and the spells. However one thing that we’ve noticed is that the only bard school available is Lore. It would be great if the rest would be there as well. Besides that, the app is amazing =)
We first ran across a bug, what seemed like a rule confusion, and came here to review it. Other reviews indicated material on a Discord? After time in searching we finally found that and some downloadable content. Did that. Didnt help the bug. We think its difficult and convoluted to use. We dont like some of the organization, alphabetized equipment that we cant organize, lists that should be columns but read like prose, and too much space taken up so that we see way less at once. Not seeing a way to edit certain items. We dont need to pay for more content, we need it easier to use and have only seen one app that was worse.
So far Im enjoying this app. We’ve only set up characters and have not used it during gameplay yet. One thing we wish was different is that the user can go in and edit/add spells and items without having to erase what is there. We dont know if this can be done after purchasing as Im only using the free version. Simple to use, needs some items included in the list (I carry a few items not found in the apps item list), and the above mentioned function. Overall, a good app to use. Better than a couple of apps we’ve tried including D&D Beyond.
We love this app all around. Great interface, awesome compatability with homebrew content, but the one problem we’ve been running into a lot is this: whenever adding descriptions for hombrew content, there is a small bubble that appears right above the decription box, and right where the first line is. The solution we’ve been coming up with is to just skip to the 2nd line and then just put it back into the normal format, but it would be awesome if this could be changed in some way. Love the great work with the rest of the app though! Keep up the amazing work.
This app has a ton of options and is super slick. We will say you kind of have to tinker with things and we sometimes have issues getting some of our modifiers to display correctly but once you play with it a bit it works extremely well. We havent seen any pop ups or built in ads and Im honestly shocked that an app this polished offers so much for free. The $10 for pro offers quite a bit and is especially worth it if you have a lot of characters or are a DM. Best app for the value hands down.
Basically we’ve bought the pro subscription on our phone but it will not transfer to our mac and wants us to make a second purchase of pro. Even though we already have it. This feels like a sleezy buisness practice. Besides that the app works great and it a cheaper alternative so take it as you will. Just know if you want pro on both computer and mobile you have to make two seperate purchases.
In 2022 it is unacceptable for a piece of software to be inaccessible to people with visual and neurological conditions that make white screens prohibitive. It is especially egregious to have fully accessible functionality built in but locked behind a paywall. Charging for modules of content is totally fair and reasonable but forcing users to pay for accessibility is never ok. Would likely 5 star program otherwise given the features, which makes it a real shame that it is unusable for us.
The developer is constantly updating and provides a great app with great support! The free version has everything you need and with a little money invested you can have everything you want.

This app is really great, with simple designs, simple character creation and managing, however we do have ONE complaint. Its missing a LOT of content from dnd, many classes only have One subclass to choose from, rather than the three in the players handbook, and we dont want to go through and homebrew every single thing in that book. Other than that, it truly is a great app and we suggest entirley!!

The app is good by all means but its got some bugs here and there Although its not amazing its not terrible for its purpose either so over all its a good app.
Love the app layout and all even upgraded but still confused as to where all the subclasses are? Clerics are only of life, monks only do open palm???? Since when?
The artificer is a class that was introduced in 5e we just wanted to tell you this we case you where unaware of it. We have used your app and we enjoy it but cant make the rating five stars with one of our favorite clases missing we hope that you add it to the app soon.
This app is amazing for those who are new to D&D and veterans. The only issue we are having with this app is the fact that not all the races and feats and a bunch of other info isnt available. We have to download it from a separate app (discord) and its a pain in the rear. It would be nice to have all the info available from the get go, especially for those who really enjoy just creating characters for fun. Other than that, its simply easy to use. Would recommend to others.
If we didnt have to manually create the subclass we’re using it would be fine. We honestly dont really understand how to import to the app or we would. If you just want to mess around with making a character its great but if you have something in mind, you’ll probably have to either import content or buy something from the app. We spent a good hour or so inputing stuff and then we rage quit because it was taking too long to input an already generated character that shouldnt take more than 30 minutes to put into a character sheet.
Right this app is solid. It is rather bare bones, but it allows for lots of customization to what you are doing at home with your characters, be it Homebrew. We are not playing homebrew at the moment but the ONE issue we have is the inability to add Custom Spells that are in 5e. Such as for example the Ranger Spell Ensnaring Strike. If this is fixed or someone can give us an idea this goes from 3 stars to 4 stars (5 stars are for exceptional work that is far above anything that people can expect, 3 stars are for good and average, 4 is for above average)

We Love everything about it! The system, though it took us a bit to learn the style of swiping, was so enjoyable and swift that we bought the premium and have made 20 characters!
We purchased pro and the payment was processed but we did not receive the features. Will not be changing our review until this is sorted out.
First things first amazing app but there are a few issues such as the dark mode being behind a pay wall, as well as the limit to 2 characters when you dont get PrismaPro. So if you get the app just get the Pro especially because it is a one time purchase.
