Community Insight:
As depressing as it is, games like these on the App Store are simply no more, being overtaken by listless pieces of rotting saliva for one simple reasonmoney. Meowth has become a god of the Pokmon world, leaving Reuniclus and Chandelure to die out.
This game involves placing blocks so that they match the 2D projections (think shadows) from two angles. Its a great way to relax, not requiring too much thinking, and a comfortable level of difficulty. The game has multiple goals for each level: minimum blocks, maximum blocks, and picross, though the existence of these and the in-game dot indicators were unclear to us until we read a blog review. There do seem to be some bugs around the achievements. We received the Maximization expert (and before that another achievement we dont remember) before we had met the criteria and when the counter hadnt made it to 120.
One more thing. If youre not enjoying this, it may be because you didnt notice the different types or levels involved. Also what about user-created content.
We might have taken our time to complete the game but it was fun all the way to the end.
We use this all the time in our geometry class to show kids how you can look at shapes from different angles Thank you.
We love puzzles and mazes. Its a great workout for your brain.
This game is as close to perfect as it gets. Simple concept, clean, simple, unfussy space. Fun, increasing challenge. Makes you think outside the box. Great job.
The puzzles / challenges can really make you think which makes fun to do. While solutions may seem simple, getting the min / max results can require some figurin. We do wish there were more levels. Or, perhaps, increase the grid size to 6 x 6 x 6.
Ive had this game on our iPad for a while. Its a great perspective-based puzzle game. Ive not played it for a while, but couldnt remember why we stopped, until we picked it up again. The swipe feature, to turn the puzzle to see it at different angles, is set to turn a quarter turn each time. Our suggestion would be to be able to control how much it turns by dragging it left or right, rather than it be set at a quarter turn, which hides many of the blocks that are placed. That may be the intention, to make it more challenging, which we get. We just wanted to throw the suggestion out there. In the meantime, its a great game, relaxing, clever, and of course, challenging :).
Ive reached the end and its only been a week. And no, we didnt play nonstop. Only a few of the puzzles provided us with any real challenge and thats after us saying Im spatially challenged, but we did see our skills improve. Id love more levels.
One of the best puzzle games, if not the best.
This game has been a huge help for when we feel distracted. Helps us focus. Love it.
Love the simple design and the dynamics of the game. Good job.
Love this game! Graphics are great. Controls work quite well. Fun having several ways to play the same game. Well done.
We love this game so much and Im really happy to see that it keeps getting more levels added. The developer is also really nice and responds to issues quickly. We cant recommend this game enough.
Great game! Clever and we wish there was more.
We really love it. It would be better if we could have rotation through more axis.
Highly entertaining and educational.
This is the first review Ive ever written for an app and we felt we needed to go out of our way to praise it. It feels amazing to play, easy controls with a simple to understand concept means the levels play fast but feel good. Theres a lot of depth and replayability that we love, it feels great to get the min max picross and heck we dont even know if theres even more yet. Love that when you beat a world you get new modes on the old levels, the replayability is fantastic. Games are well worth it if you play it for 1hr per dollar spent and Ive definitely gotten our moneys worth already Thank you, developer.
If youre the type of person who enjoyed those little blocks you learned your tens with, youll love this. We absolutely love this game. We can pick it up for just a few minutes or play for hours. Each puzzle is actually three with its addition of achievements for using the minimum, maximum number of blocks as well as the more challenging picross. The only thing lacking is that the puzzles arent infinite – because we could play this game forever.
We deleted our entire review that we posted here when this game first arrived on the App Store. It was quite lengthy and went into a lot of unnecessary detail. Heres the basic gist… This game is a lot of fun. This game is difficult enough to be a challenge and easy enough that you wont delete it because of an impossible difficulty level. Its great when you just need something quick and if you close it in the middle of a game you dont lose progress or anything. The blocks will be waiting for you when you come back. We really enjoy the fact that the graphics are black and white. This is one of those permanent games that will always stay on our phone. Even if you complete it, which we have, you just reset everything back to the beginning and start over because by the time you complete that 100th puzzle the first one you completed will be brand new again. You wont remember how you did it. So take the challenge again. Replayability is excellent. 5 STAR GAME.
We love geometric puzzles we want to be able to reset the game so we can start over. Does anyone know how too do that.
Great game to get you thinking while having fun.
One of our favorite thoughtful games that is both easy and challenging. We love being able to rethink the shapes that we see and how theyre formed.
We like this game a lot, each level gets more intense. Trying to use the least a mount of cubes is the real challenge.
We have very few games and am so glad this one is among them. This game is fun and relaxing. We really like the latest update. It makes the game more challenging without being next to impossible. And the Night Mode option just adds to the enjoyment, IMO. Kudos and thank you to the dev.
The X factor had us baffled but once we figured its purpose the game became very relaxing and pleasantly mindbending.
Minimalizing count is a constant challenge. Love it.
All three modes (min, max, picross) are a ton of fun! Our only complaint is that the levels are a bit too easy. Maybe levels with grids larger than 5x5x5 could be offered in the future? Also, we noticed a couple of minor bugs while playing: 1. The "Next Level" button sometimes doesn't have any effect. Going back to the menu and selecting the next level works. 2. Some of the achievements labeled as "Complete All Levels" trigger after 60 levels are completed instead of all 100.
We teach college math to artists. It is games like these that we realize how narrow and bland elementary school math was. Usual patterns have no place in the curriculum and yet our most skilled (and highly paid) engineersopticsdisplay these skills. This is a fine introduction to physical seeing.
Just so great. It makes us happy and calm. It is zen.
Add the ability to play without music, with sound effects.
Levels arent remembered on different devices and will not advance on 2nd or 3rd device if level was finished on 1st device downloaded on.
A good game if you want to relax while challenging your skills at perspective visualization. We would buy it again.
We were expecting a cool spatial puzzle game with a satisfying sense of accomplishment each time the last block slid into place and the shadowed solutions finally revealed themselves on the level walls. Instead, we got an app of trivial busywork with a frustrating control scheme. The game started well enough, and the first twenty levels or so had a few puzzles that left us scratching our head before they were ultimately surmounted. And then, something clicked, and every puzzle was laughably simple. Im an intelligent person but by no means a genius, and if we discovered this trick then undoubtedly countless others will as well. Since we found it we have not failed to achieve Min, Max, or Picross (which added a welcome wrinkle for a bit until we could see through that too) on every level without breaking a sweat, and the hardest part of each level is deciding which of several possible solutions Im going to build. Points for a neat idea and a polished presentation (controls aside), but overall not worth it.
We pretty much only play puzzle games and this one is well worth the $1.99. There are 100 levels, each with an option to replay and earn the minimum and maximum badges as well as picross so it could be considered 296 levels. Our only issue is that we have a statistic of 96/100 picross completed while the first four levels offer no option for it. Great game! Well worth the cost.
We are thinking that there are a total of 100 puzzles only? Five chapters with 20 levels in each? If that is true, we hope that you add more puzzles soon. We know we can play each puzzle three ways, but we would still like some more puzzles.
Excellent game. Please build more levels.
This game deserves more attention. We like puzzle games and we like how it makes you look at different side of the puzzle. We think introducing cylinder and spherical planes may give a new challenge to players.
Really wonderful spatial relations and spatial perspectives game. Challenging enough to keep you engaged and learning further; and because the game is patient with your mistakes, you can be constantly learning new approaches.
First, this game is enjoyable and relaxing. Highly recommended. We have a quibble. An individual game ends when your construction casts the target shadows in two directions, and goes on to the next game in that level. There is notation showing the minimum number of cubes needed for the solution and the maximum. We would like to figure out both, but that is not an option. Update. We still dont like that one is taken to the next puzzle when a workable shape is created, though there are still minimal and maximal solutions to be found. But as we can revisit individual puzzles, we see this as a minor point. This game provides considerable bang for the buck.
We love games that require spatial reasoning. This fits the bill. Our only complaint is we wish new levels would come out more frequently.
The puzzles are interesting and just enough challenging for us. We expect it will be more successful with people who can think spatially, somewhat like the curved-blob shadow casting games. We try to only work one puzzle in a sitting so we dont run out of puzzles too fast. In the first two sets the extra challenges of min and max cubes made the puzzles even more fun. Im up to the third set where a new mechanic is introduced.
Nice game just wish it was all 3 axiss.
We highly recommended for everyone.
Does not support portrait mode. Cannot turn constant music off separately from interaction sounds so you are forced to either listen to the music or have no sound. Does not support iOS Dark Mode. Has separate Night Mode setting. Takes several steps to exit all the way out to the main menu to change settings then manually go back to where you were playing.
Starts off as a nice puzzle game, but fails to evolve properly. Leaves you wondering if at all there can be any levels that would be truly challenging.
Truly a wonderful, peaceful and completely engaging game. We have completed 9 levels so far, but we know we will be vey sad the day we solve the last puzzle!!! We have only one wish….we wish the game would pause a moment before it goes on to the next level, so we could see the number of moves we made compared to the least possible moves. Thanks to the genius(es) who designed this fabulous game.
Short games but extremely entertaining.
Its a relatively simple & easy puzzle game. Youll enjoy it. Not much we can say about it thats bad, every aspect is well made & fun :).
