A Glimpse into Pythagorea

Study geometry while playing on squared paper.

> 350+ tasks: from very simple to really geometric puzzles
> 28 subjects to explore
> 70+ geometric terms in a glossary
> Easy to use
> Friendly interface
> Train your mind and imagination

*** About ***
Pythagorea is a collection of geometric puzzles of different kind that can be solved without complex constructions or calculations. All objects are drawn on a grid whose cells are squares. A lot of levels can be solved using just your geometric intuition or by finding natural laws, regularity, and symmetry.

*** Just play***
There are no sophisticated instruments. You can construct straight lines and segments only and set points in line intersections. It looks very easy but it is enough to provide an infinite number of interesting problems and unexpected challenges.

*** All definitions at your fingertips ***
If you forgot a definition, you can instantly find it in the app’s glossary. To find the definition of any term that is used in conditions of a problem, just tap on the Info (“i”) button.

*** Is this game for you? ***
Euclidea users can take a different view of constructions, discover new methods and tricks, and check their geometric intuition.

If you have just started your acquaintance with geometry, the game will help you understand important ideas and properties of the Euclidean geometry.

If you passed the course of geometry some time ago, the game will be useful to renew and check your knowledge because it covers most of ideas and notions of the elementary geometry.

If you are not on good terms with geometry, Pythagorea will help you to discover another side of the subject. We get a lot of user responses that Pythagorea and Euclidea made it possible to see the beauty and naturalness of geometric constructions and even fall in love with geometry.

And do not miss your chance to familiarize children with mathematics. Pythagorea is an excellent way to make friends with geometry and benefit from spending time together.

*** Main topics ***
> Length, distance, and area
> Parallels and perpendiculars
> Angles and triangles
> Angle and perpendicular bisectors, medians, and altitudes
> Pythagorean Theorem
> Circles and tangents
> Parallelograms, squares, rhombuses, rectangles and trapezoids
> Symmetry, reflection, and rotation

*** Why Pythagorea ***
Pythagoras of Samos was a Greek philosopher and mathematician. He lived in 6th century BC. One of the most famous geometric facts bears his name: the Pythagorean Theorem. It states that in a right triangle the square of the length of the hypotenuse (the side opposite the right angle) is equal to the sum of the squares of those of the two other sides. While playing Pythagorea you often meet right angles and rely on the Pythagorean Theorem to compare lengths of segments and distances between points. That is why the game is named after Pythagoras.

*** The tree ***
The Pythagoras tree is a fractal constructed from squares and right-angled triangles. Your Pythagoras tree grows up with each solved problem. Each tree is unique: no other tree has the same form. And after all levels are completed you will see its blossom. Everything depends on you. Good luck!

Its glossary and methods features are great!

This app literally changed the way we think about Geometry! Our students also love it!!! THANK YOU!!!!!!!

Some levels the difficulty ramps up super fast, but that is part of the challenge.

Enjoyable, entertaining Fun to do our entire familia helps! Great group gatherings.

We didnt expect this to be so much fun. This really makes you flex your geometry skills. Great game.

Ill let you guys in the next week and Ill be sure to get you some time to get to the house and then Ill let ya wya wI we are not sure if you wanna was the day we wanna was a day we got to go to see ya tomorrow night we love you xoxo is well good night to see you tomorrow.

The app is great, would be better if there is option to save progress on iCloud.

Love learning new ways to do geometry and test our mind instead of following threads about people bickering and fighting.

Fun and progressively more and more challenging, this app kept us entertained for hours. Our only complaint is that there’s no zoom feature, which makes dealing with close-together points quite difficult.

The puzzles are great and rather addictive. Would be 4.5 if the game had the option to selectively erase prior lines and nodes. Would set to 5 progress were coordinated across platforms.

Love this app. Great for geometry students and teachers!

For those who believe Geometry is the root of mathematics, this is an app for you!

If you’re good at visualization, you’ll love these puzzles! They go fast, but they really test your basic geometry skills. We can’t wait for the next one.

We absolutely despise geometry but this gives us a fun alternative that is way more interesting. Now we have a fun way to study for our tests. Could you maybe add postulates and theorems to this?

Starts easy, it gets difficult, very well built. Love it!

Your mind has it’s own "muscles" capable of growth. This game is fantastic for staying sharp!

We’re amazed by how much we enjoy these geometric puzzles. Some are easy, some are "educational" (hard). This relaxing puzzle "game" feels like a good use of our limited play time.

We love math and especially geometry. You have a great app. Do you have any others? Pre-Algebra, Algebra, pre-Trig.

The mental exercise is without question second to none. But, when a wall is encountered there is no guidance in scaling it. This leads to doubt and uncertainty about there is a solution or not.

Easy puzzles to get you warmed up through hard Puzzles that will challenge even the sharpest geometry whiz…

Excellent geometry puzzler! Sparse on info, but that’s okay—it’s FOR thinking!

True it needs the solutions to problems when you get stuck or at least give the postulate in the elements.

It is a good way to practice geometry skills but it needs to have more instruction if you are unable to get the correct answer.

We’ve had two problems that appear unsolvable and there is nothing to do but stop unless we wish to just bypass the problem. Solutions should be available.

Exposes how much of our geometry we’ve forgotten. Occasionally frustrating, like a good puzzle should be.

It is enjoyable game, but we have 3 comments : 1) no option zooming, it is almost impossible to play on mobile. 2) On our iPad Pro (12.9") we are stuck in level 10.29, l solved it analytically to make sure of our solution, still the app considered our answer wrong!!!???? We are sure there is a bug while checking this level, cause it has a lot of fractions and with only building intersection points, this can be very tricky. 3) The program need to have the possibility to skip the problems that been stuck.

We are stucked with 10.29… Almost get it but still not. Anyone know the answers?

Uses appropriate vocabulary and interprets it for student. Students continue trying options until they succeed. No time limits. Would be improved by individual login and progress tracking.

This puzzle game is very well executed. The premise is simple and it’s easy to learn. The puzzles increase in difficulty pretty smoothly as you go. We like that there are often multiple constructions leading to the correct answer.

It rates 10 stars from us. You have to really think and reason. It was created For us and you. Would be great for anyone who wants to learn. MLJ.

Now this is a workout. Revisiting forgotten nomenclature feels like grit in the making. Would recommend.

Excellent puzzle game. Our only complaint is that some of the individual puzzles have vague (or possibly incorrect) instructions. For example, puzzle 8.12 asks you to draw all lines that pass through point C that are equally distant from points A and B. But point C itself is not equally distant from points A and B. Does the puzzle want all lines through C that contain at least one point that is equally distant between A and B?

There must be a way to skip a level or to show the answer. We’re stuck.

We could not find a way to get the answer when we got stuck and you can’t skip the problem so you stay stuck. We understand that it is a game but it is supposed to be an educational game and if you get stuck learning stops!

It’s pretty fun to play and is challenging but, like most people have said, if you’re stuck you’re stuck. Luckily there’s a guy on YouTube who solved most of it and shows the solutions. But he only shows the solutions not the reasoning or skills behind them. And it’s in Russian. Currently we’re stuck of 10.28 and can’t find how to solve it. Which means in a couple of days we’ll probably forget about this app and delete it to save space on our phone.

Love math, especially geometry. Interesting math puzzles you can solve without pen and paper. From very easy to complicated.
