Kakuro is a world phenomenon like Sudoku. It is like a crossword puzzle with numbers. Each "word" must add up to the number provided in the clue above it or to the left. Words can only use the numbers 1 through 9, and a given number can only be used once in a word. Every kakuro has one and only solution, and can be solved through logic alone.

This is a great app to play on our iPad. However, each puzzle is static – that is to say, you cant zoom in and must play with the entire puzzle in view. Because of that, playing on our iPod touch was nearly impossible, as our big fingers would tap on the wrong squares two or three times before getting the one that we wanted. If you have a larger device and like Kakuro, then this is by far the best app. It also provides another useful puzzle source for old-school pencil-and-paper puzzlers like us. We take screenshots of the blank puzzles and print them out to do them by hand. With the high resolution quality of iPad screenshots, they come out fantastic, even when we print them on a full page at about 8×10 (on a standard 8-1/2×11 sheet). So if we dont want to lug around our iPad (like when Im waiting in the car to pick up the kids from school), we have a few of the printed out puzzles on our dollar store clipboard and we dont have to worry about screen glare or battery charge. Also, the quality of puzzles here are MUCH better than others you can find online – we have tried dozens of websites and it isnt even close.

We enjoy kakuro, we have trouble putting it down. We do wish there was a way to check your answers if you cant solve the board. We have one in the extreme we cant solve and we hate to give up on it!
We were so excited to see this in the app store. We love the larger grids; they are a challenge.
We love the game and ease of gameplay. Our only complaint is that we wish additional puzzles would be added. Either free or packs for purchase. If add more puzzle options, would rate 5 stars.

Love real kakuro, and the 20×20 looks like fun… But our eyes need the zoom feature. We’ll wait for an update that includes that… Then make it 5 stars.
We haven’t looked for a kakuro app in a while because they used to all be crap. Excellent gameplay and beautiful stylistically, but the interface suffers from style over substance. The poor contrast and lack of zoom makes the game very difficult to play to relax before bed.
These puzzles are so fun! Please make more.
We like the Conceptis brand Kakuro books and this app reminds us of those books. We really enjoy it. It does crash upon starting some puzzles, but we can’t complain since it’s free.
We love Kakuro!! In the Real Kakuro app, when you use both pencil marks and then a pen mark, hitting the eraser will return you to the pencil marks. Any way to get the same feature in Real Kakuro 20×20? It will get you 5-stars if you can do it!
We love this app, with the same gripe about too many pop up ads that others have mentioned. We can solve the Extreme puzzles within 15 minutes (personal best) to an hour, averaging 45 minutes. Extreme 16 is unsolvable. We’ve been analyzing it for hours. The problem is in the lower right hand quadrant. It would be great to have an in-app purchase for solutions. We are convinced this one has an error.
Love the extra challenge of this larger version of Kakuro. However, lately it has crashed when opening some (random) unfinished puzzles. And we too would like to see our pencil marks when we erase a "penned in" number.
We’ve been playing this game for over a year. We’re on our 2nd time through. But the game crashes at least once on every board. Add that to the ads we MUST watch, we’re about ready to find a different version. Stop the madness!
Love the game, but it keeps crashing. We open a puzzle and before we can enter a single number, it closes. Will re-rate as 5 stars after you fix this.
We haven’t had problems with it crashing. We really like the different play levels. No complaints from us. We would give it five stars.
Allow rotation to landscape. The game is great. We don’t even mind the ads. Playing on an iPad is less than fun because you have to hold the pad in portrait mode with the power plug at the bottom.
This app would be fantastic if they would update to fix the crashes. There are some puzzles that we cannot complete because as soon as we open them the app crashes. Doesn’t happen on all, just some. Very puzzling. We really like the various difficulty levels and board sizes.
Love Kakuro in general, but this app crashes a LOT. It’s always reopened with little or no lost data SO FAR. Still annoying.
We like the game but it tends to be finicky and crash. There is on puzzle we can’t play because it crash every time we open it. Others seem to work fine. Another was fine and then we left it. Now we come back and it crashes every time we open it. If they would fix it I’d give 5 stars.
This latest update completely ruins the experience with full-page ads that randomly pop up during gameplay (sometimes causing you to accidentally click on them if you’re in the process of making a move). In addition, there are now animated ad banners at the top of the board, covering part of the game, specifically the game number and difficulty. Would prefer the previous version, or at least a working "remove ads". Uninstalling.
Now that the update is complete, game works fine.
After update, we’re now getting popups during the game. What gives? Stupid.

Excellent Kakuro app. 500 large puzzles for free. Very good UI. We recommend it for fans of Kakuro.
This is the same as Cross Sums, which we have enjoyed solving for many years in Dell puzzle magazines. We like the various levels of difficulty. We also like the fact that there is a timer, so we can try to beat our previous times.
Ever since the last update, it has crashed. The challenging and extreme levels are really challenging and fun. But we are running nearing running out of games.
Time flies when we play this game. Love math and love logic and this combines it all!
This is a great app for kakuro fans. I’d like an option to turn off the auto calculations down the bottom for an added challenge because now we feel like we’re dependent on it. Great app otherwise!
If your a numbers junky and like a good challenge this is the game. We don’t even bother with soduko anymore.
Easy to play, and no annoying "gotcha" tactics if your finger wobbles onto the wrong square when the car jolts.
We were so happy when we discovered the 20×20 version! We had already finished all 1000 puzzles in the regular game and now we have more! Great app; no problems with it at all. Fun game.
