We love this app!! We think its better than the NYT game because it shows you what words youve done as you type them + it has a super cool theme. The app developers are super nice and fun too! We appreciate the addition of bonus puzzles to make this app extra fun. :)
As a fan of this kind of puzzle, we tried this app. We love the clean layout, and ease of play. The new layout on the iPad lets you easily see your words as you go. We LOVE the occasional definitions, side-comments and stories that randomly show up with certain words. Great addition to a classic game. Hopefully the next update will include a play history so you can see how many days you were a wizard.
We love(d) Retrogram but seeing Potter content ruined it for us as an LGBTQIA+ person. The money and visibility generated directly fuel her attacks on innocent transgender individuals and the community by validating these views are acceptable by the devs. Canceling our subscription with great sadness.
We’ve had this game for over a year now and we dont go a day without playing. Its a fun way to challenge your brain and learn a few new words here and there. Its easy to use and pretty straightforward. But there have been a few issues with the game. Sometimes it wont accept a word but then the next day when we check the answers it will show we missed that word. A few weeks ago the puzzle of the day had most of the letters from the previous days puzzle, and we had seen on the answer list a word that would work on the current puzzle, yet when entered it wouldnt accept it. It had the required letter and everything. Why is it accepted one day but not the next? We’ve had a few occasions where a word is accepted on one puzzle but not again on another one. There are also common words that arent accepted, like orzo or aloud which can be frustrating when some obscure words are on the answer sheet. Most recently we’ve noticed the hint option is now gone, which would give you a vague hint to what the pangram was. We enjoy the game but wish these things would be fixed.

We’ve tried a couple of pangram apps and this is by far our favorite. We love how when you start typing a word, the list at the top changes as you type to show you words youve already submitted that start with the letters youre typing. That makes it easier to see if youre trying to submit a word youve already submitted. The app design overall is also just very cute, cute, and simple. Love it. We like the random bonus pangrams you get too. We wish there was more of that (like mini games or something?). We also like the prefix lists they share on social and hope they add those to the game. Overall we would def recommend this app to word game lovers!
The game is great. But, when we check answers it always says we missed words that we KNOW we found! Why????
We paid for this app because it would update every day on our Apple Watch. It hasnt worked in weeks.
We love this game and it is so fun and cute! We especially love that they post the prefixes on twitter so that you can try to get all of the words! Unfortunately they dont seem to have a system that posts it automatically and they forget to do it every few days which makes the game just like any other pangram. We wish they would fix that so that the puzzle can be enjoyable everyday! Other than that there are sometimes words that should clearly be included but are not so thats a little weird. But overall we love this game and cant wait to see it get a little more together.
We like the style of this game and its simplicity, our only issue is that we feel like if youre paying for a subscription you should be given an option to play past puzzles, like an archive. Otherwise, love the game.
Dont download, you play for 3 minutes and then they make you pay. We updated our phone for this , dumb.
We super liked this game until it deleted ALL of our progress! Its like we never played before. Ridiculous.
This is the New York Times Spelling Bee with a different interface. And we love it! We love the Bee and always want to play another one when we finish the Bee, so this is great.
This game was fantastic and kept us interested until we spelled our TENTH word- then we were asked to pay .99c/month or SEVEN DOLLARS for the whole game. Major mood downer. Please move on and find your peace somewhere else until this issue is fixed.
The retro look of the game is awesome and its now become a word game we look forward to playing regularly. The constant updates are nice to see rather than a game that isnt worked on. We must admit some words are very hard to figure out but thats part of the fun.
The design and interface of this game are simple and attractive, and the puzzles are challenging enough to keep us coming back. However, almost every day we find words (that are real and sufficiently common) that arent recognized by the game. It is very frustrating to come up with a good word and then be told it isnt valid. Its almost frustrating enough to make us stop playing, but we havent given it up yet. Perhaps an in-game dispute method to check other words would help with this problem, but might make too much work for the developer(s).
Im not that good at word games but this is nice. We do wish there was a cheaper way to go past the 10 word limit. A subscription seems a little weird for this in our opinion. We wouldnt mind buying this for like $3 or something.
The developers responsiveness and enthusiasm alone is what sold us on this game. We havent played a second of it but Im sure its wonderful because this devs passion is so evident in their interaction. 10/5.

We love Retrogram! The puzzles are fun and challenging, with a great interface and fun extras like cheeky word definitions, words of encouragement, and the ability to sync the game with friends over FaceTime. Love the retro vibe. Playing Retrogram has become a very enjoyable daily routine that we look forward to. Highly recommend subscribing to get the daily puzzle!
Our wife and we really enjoy word games and this is perhaps our favorite ever! We look forward to the new puzzle every day and after about 15 minutes when we both start to struggle we pool our words and work toward the Wizard level score together. Besides the nature of the word finding (which to be honest is similar to many other word games we have played), we really like the games retro aesthetics and the sometimes clever and humorous word definition each puzzle provides for a subset of the found words. Also, being able to play just one puzzle a day keeps it fresh (yes, we purchased the Daily Puzzle subscription).
Great interface and love that you can use the letters more than once. The definitions are also pretty hilarious, which sets it apart from other word games.
