Community Insight:
Play while on the crapper good game.
We have very fond memories of playing the original as a kid. This game stayed very true to its predecessor which made for an awesome nostalgic experience.
Hi this will be a little bit longer but we love these games we played all of them except for two.
Fire maple games have always been our favorite. Ive played all of these throughout our life and they always brought us joy. We highly recommend getting this app because its truly interesting, fun, and worth your time. Grisly Manor is the OG so you should definitely play this, but if you enjoy this we 100% suggest you check out the other fire maple games such as Return to Grisly Manor, Lost City, Thickety Creek, Curse of the Cobra, Hidden World, etc. All super fun and mysterious. In our opinion, these apps are one of the best on App Store and are extremely enjoyable. Thanks for servicing these brilliant games to us, and if you are not the company thank you very much for reading our review. Ava Chamberlain.
Finally! The length and complexity of a point and click adventure game that Fire Maple fans have been waiting for is here. Developers would do well by Syntaxitys example and create add-ons to the shorter games to bring them up to the length and complexity of GM2.
We like the games by this developer. The challenge provided is not terribly hard but just enough that we are motivated to reach the end. The artwork is beautiful. The music adds to the enjoyment. One thing we like about these games is the built in hint system. They are free, but are on a timer so you cant buzz right through them. And you wouldnt want to! Half the fun is figuring it out yourself. But if you are truly stumped, you can ask for a hint. We started with Grisly Manor, which was a little short but still a lot of fun. After we completed the game, we sat with our granddaughter while she played and that was fun for both of us. The sequel, Grisly Manor 2, was much longer and even more enjoyable, with a great ending. Our most recent game was Lost City. While scenes are beautiful it seemed a bit too long with more back tracking than we cared for. The last half of the game we used more hints just to get through it faster. It would be nice if you could click on the map to get to the room you want to go to. For example, once you figure out what season you need to be in, it gets tedious to get to the room where you can adjust the season, and then continue on. Nevertheless, the Lost City provided much enjoyment, broken into three or four days as we had time to work with it. Because Im of the age of being forgetful, a year from now Ill be able to play these games again and they will still be fun. Thank you, Fire Maple, for making good clean games that are appropriate for any age player. We look forward to buying the next game.
Loved the game, the house and Grandpa. It was refreshing not to have blood and demons in the game. Play was medium difficulty, most puzzles easy to figure out but the locked or hidden objects took quite a bit of thought to find. We hope there will be more Grisly adventures! Heres our nitpick. Every time we had to flip to another app we had to wait through the introduction. That was frustrating, especially if we swiped up by accident.
This game is beautiful, challenging, and fun. Im so grateful for Fire Maple Games as they relax us and provide a welcome respite from stress. So creative and well thought out. This one was especially good. Just when you think youve finished, theres more.
Back in the early 2010s, our mom bought The Secret of Grisly Manor on our family iPad and it was probably our favorite game to play! We replayed it at least 5 times. A few years later we found out about the second one, and Im sure weve replayed it at least 5 times as well. We lost the original account but we decided to re-buy the games just for the nostalgia. Just as fun as a decade ago! The attention to detail in this series is amazing, such as during the time travel sequence when the year always matches the current one. Id recommend this game (and the original) to anyone of any age.
We really had our doubts about this game, but to our surprise we love it. Its actually one of the best games that we have played in a long time, and we would recommend it to anyone.
Fire Maple keeps improving their point and click adventures and this was was truly a joy to play. Mixed difficulties of challenges, innovative rooms, and a fun flashback to the original Grisly Manor made this super entertaining.
We just found this company and this is the third Ive played after the first Grisly Manor and Lost City. This is our favorite so far. The puzzles were clever (the paint machine was our favorite) and we loved the addition of the interactive items. The plot was very creative and it was long enough (one of our complaints with a couple of their other games). And with act 2 its like getting two games in one. Loved it. BTW dont be put off by the name. We avoided the first one for a while because we thought it was going to be a gruesome murder story but its not. Its G rated. Also you dont need to play the first GM to know whats going on but we recommend it just for continuity.
We are a fan of the Fire Maple games. Grisly Manor 2 benefits from the forethought that went into making the puzzles fit in with the story, which are much more involved and thought-provoking than in the original. The puzzles themselves are at a medium level of difficulty; just hard enough to make you think, but far from exasperating. We also appreciate how the developers spent time creating clever, organic puzzles that avoid employing the lazy tropes (slider puzzles, combination lock puzzles, tiny hidden objects, finding/using items that make no sense in the story/environment) that many of the games in the genre fall back on. We also like how the game revisits the original Grisly Manor story, but expands on it significantly, avoiding redundancy. This game, like all of Fire Maples games, is a welcome relief from the gloomy, creepy settings and atmosphere in most of the games in this genre. The music is pleasant, the sense of humor is quirky and pervasive, and the visuals are colorful, which makes for a stress-free, family-friendly, puzzle-solving experience. The journal and the map are useful features, as well. Overall, this is a nice, calm way to spend a few hours, and scratch that puzzling itch.
Ive played a fair amount of these adventure, point and click puzzle games and this is the first one that has made us laugh out loud. Many are easy, tough, and down right stupid non-intuitive, while being entertaining. This game is different from all Ive played because its actually fun and at times lol funny.
Cool little Easter egg, the clock in the kitchen is real time.
We have been here since the BEGINNING so u best bet we're a hardcore fmg fan this slaps u kno but play the first 3 games then this bc u won't understand bc ur not og like us >:(.
Loved the game but too challenging for us. Had to use hints plus find a walkthrough online. Never could have done it on our own. Those who are smart and love a challenge should like this game. Im not sorry we bought it though.
Ive played all of your games, and theyre so much fun and well done! When we reach the end of each game we get so sad because of all the fun Ive had. Pleeeaaase keep them coming! :).
We love the atmosphere in this game. With the theatrical soundtrack playing behind the game, we feel like Im inside Spielbergs movie. Although the game is not in 3D environment, but the 2D artworks are realistic and atmospheric and are enough to submerge yourself in the game. The puzzles are good, not too hard and not too easy. A few puzzles are not so logical but if you treat it like some sort of cartoon logic, then it makes sense. Overall, we love it.
This game is tons of fun to play! Its incredibly expansive, with hours of gameplay, beautiful artwork, and really creative point-and-click puzzles. We dont have a reason NOT to recommend this game! (The only reason we didnt give a 5-star review is because we save those for once-in-a-lifetime games!).
We love the fire maple games but this one has a glitch and we can not get to the box on the table so a few minutes into the game we are stuck and unable to complete it.
We love a good point&click (classic) adventure game, and this one did not disappoint. We really enjoyed every minute of it. Great story, very nice graphics, challenging puzzles that make a lot of sense, and very smooth game play with no bugs at all. We refuse to use the hint system and we're so glad we never did. We recall there was one or two times when we got really stuck and was a bit frustrated but we just walked away and came back a few times to figure it out. Awesome feeling. We got the game when it was made free this week, so we're super happy. Will pay the $0.99 now to play the original Grisly Manor. Major kudos to the dev. Team for a great game.
We played Thickety Creek and saw that we had not yet played Grisly Manor 2 and was pleasantly surprised that it was free. Now Im enjoying it this Christmas Day. Best wishes to you and continued success with your games, we look forward to each one.
Outstanding game. Loved by ourselves, 61 yrs young together with our 4 yr old Grandson. He cant wait to explore the rooms and tap around looking for clues. We played a lot of games and this is by far our favorite.
These games are so we'll made and fun and have u not wanting to stop playing. We really hope they come out with another game soon because they are such a throwback to our child hood. Amazing games guys(firemaple games) keep up your amazing work.
These games are just the right amount of hard, interesting, entertaining and silly. All around great games. We highly recommend their entire library. We bought the collection first after trying a demo. Now anything by them is an instant by for us. We realize we sound like a bot, but gd do they make good games. This and The Room series are our go to games.
The game got to a point where it locked up and we were not able to make it work again. We reset the game but theres no way to return to the point of the game we had reached. For this reason we wont be purchasing any more Fire Maple Games. Thank you for your time.
Where to begin, game was fun, actually most fun of all the games from the same maker imo. We never actually found the Easter egg in the game that we found in the other ones. Theres no way in hell that we could have played any of the games without having at least 3 hints only because we got really stuck a few times. Wish there were more games like this. To us, it was actually well worth the purchase. Our only suggestion is to make a kind of scary game, but realistically this was probably one of the more if not most engaging games Ive experienced on our phone.
We have played all four games and we are obsessed! We just hope they keep making them because we would definitely keep buying them.
We almost cried when we took that time machine back to the original manor. Beautiful.
Grisly Manor 2 is very fun and exciting! Very intelligent and challenging! Fun Fun Fun.
We love this company and their games!! Praying they continue to make more.
This one was the most thought out and thorough of the Fire Maple games so far! We usually don't need the hints, but there were times we were straight up stumped! We can't wait to play this with our kids, they enjoy the puzzles as much as we do.
This is an amazing game and is actually better than the first one, which is a 5 star game. We sure hope these guys continue to make new titles.
Best games ever! Love fire maple.
Another great game from fire maple. We love the playability and the logical thinking of the game. The hint system and the map system really limits the frustration you can sometimes have with games.
We're an escape game junkie, but we had a particularly good time with this one. It's obvious that it was made with a lot of care. We really enjoyed it. Super clever.
Great artistry, clever puzzles! Thank you for not making it too creepy or scary! Not necessary for intrigue. This kept our attention til the very end.
We like it It,s a good game Nice game & amazing game.
We have played many of these puzzle games and we have to say that these games by Fire Maple are absolutely the best! The graphics are beautiful, the sound effects are realistic, the gameplay is challenging but not to the point of being frustrating. They are amazingly well designed and function beautifully. The help kids are just enough. We can't say enough good things about these, and we're so sad that we have just completed all four games and have nowhere to go now. Please create more.
Keep these games coming!! They're so much fun.
We've been looking for a new game from you guys. So cool! Worth the wait. Thank you.
We really hope Fire Maple games catch on more. All of their puzzle games are amazing and so much higher quality than the other "escape" type game on the market. This one is no exception. The art is beautiful. All the scenes are interactive with an actual story. Items are also interactive. We've played other games of this genre and you can't even tell what the item is you just picked up! Overall this game, as well as the others from this dev, are the highest quality and extremely enjoyable. Well worth every penny to support these awesome games.
A thinking person's game. Thoroughly captivating and well designed, with fun challenges and puzzles. Playing a second or third time (without hints!) is equally fun. Fire Maple Games has always come through.
Love it. We knew there was more to the house than what we could explore in the original Grisly Manor. Return to Grisly Manor takes the story into another "dimension.".
If you like object puzzle games this is yet another great game from experts.
This game went above and beyond our expectations!!!! No complaints what's so ever. So clever, whimsical, and nice and long. Look forward to the next game.
Enjoy all of them, played so many times we lost count !!! Want more games please !!! Thanks, Angelo.
First of all, we're a free game person all the way. So the fact that we gladly pay for these games says something. We are also a person who plays a game once and then deletes it from our phone. We have played the three previous point and click story games that fire maple has come out with multiple times. That said, this new game has outdone itself. You have all the classic puzzles, but they are even more cleverly set up. The game is challenging, but not frustrating. And once you have paid for the game, you aren't bombarded with adds or requested to pay for hints. The story is great and best of all… Fun! We highly recommend this! Now, can your other two stories get sequels.
