We love this game, Ive been playing for about 2 years now- and Im still not bored with it! We love the cultural events in particular, and we enjoy how it gradually grows more challenging-not rapidly like some other games. If we ever top out and complete the furthest level, we think we will just start it over again.
We love that you can be successful in this game without ads or in-app purchases. The pacing of the game, augmented by the seasonal events which allow you to regularly hit more attainable milestones keep us entertained while we progress across the ages. The latest update doesnt seem to want to go through. Ive hit update several times but all it does spin in a circle a few times and goes back to saying update again.
Easy game to navigate, easily the best mobile game Ive played. Im addicted.
Great game but the code is glitching and we cant get to Bronze Age whenever we upgrade city hall it bugs out and theres an error please fix the bug.
Have played for a long time. This is a pay to win game and the devs constantly push overpriced advancements or items. Worse, the game regularly suffers from bugs that the devs take weeks or months to fix. Once you have made it through some different ages, you will see that each new one is basically the same mechanic with a different skin. Edit: in response to this, the devs wrote back and basically asked what we would suggest. How about fixing the issues above? Prevent stupid bugs, fix new ones immediately, write better code so your game does not crash. Design eras with very different gameplay. So they are not just rehashes of the previous ones. Stop ripping off customers with the the insane prices you try to charge for almost everything in the game. If thats not direct enough, spend some time with Clash of Clans and compare and contrast. In 2+ years of playing that we might have had it crash a couple of times – literally-while Ive experienced many dozens with your game.
The Treasure Hunt glitches and uses up your units without ending battle. Too bad it costs to replenish your units. Waste of resources. Avoid Treasure Hunt section.

Ive only been playing for a short period of time, but enjoying it so far. Fairly intuitive and a relatively small learning curve. A few wrinkles on the traditional Sim City style building game, but an effective time waster (whether for good or bad!). Havent had to pay anything so far to advance, hope it will stay fun and playable without requiring huge amounts of money to stay competitive.
This is a great game. We love the slow grind. Compared to games that bombard you, it provides a great experience building and learning. The alliance aspect is great if you choose to use it, and doesnt penalize you unnecessarily if you dont. That is a key factor for us. It lets you choose, and as you progress on the game it lets you grow and participate in different aspects. That is why its one of few games we have ever spent money on, full disclosure. Its fun and your goods and progress cannot be taken by someone else. We would add as a suggestion- please! Please add an option to trade goods from the cultures such as Egypt and maya , etc. That would add a very lucrative layer of goods given the time to produce certain items. Love the game.

This game is fun, and you can still make great advances in your city if you dont want to spend money. However, the weakness in the game is the multiplayer component. Before we continue further, we want to make it clear that we play every day, so despite some gripes, we do enjoy what this game has created. Now for the criticism: The alliance you join is fun and helps you connect with other players, but its ultimately underwhelming. Knowing theres so much Ancient Greek and Roman influence in the evolution of your civilization, why not have something akin to the Olympics? Thats a cool way to get alliances to have some friendly competitions with each other. Also, a lot of the tactics you can use to build a better city quicker is explained poorly. Granted, that is part of the fun of the gameto figure out how to be a better city planner. However, we almost quit the game in the first week because certain things werent clicking. A compromise suggestion: offer a one time payment option for those players like us who might want to support the game. And then unlock some permanent perks for us. We guarantee youll keep more players this way.
The game looks great and it could be the greatest game of its kind if it wasnt for the amount of time it requires for things to upgrade. We literally downloaded the game 20 minutes ago and already have nothing to do because we have to wait for everything. Literally training soldiers..you gotta wait. Scouting..you gotta wait. Upgrading buildings.you gotta wait. And the waiting periods are insane. What were developers thinking? At least give us some free land where we can battle and get stuff while waiting. We literally have nothing to do for the next hour or so and we just got the game, and im already going yo delete it. Nobody likes to sit and wait forever.
We like this game in ever so many ways. The prices are fair the gameplay is challenging. What we dont like is the constant crashing. This game crashes more than any other game we have ever played. It also freezes up at times and then you have to start all over. We often have to reboot this game three or four times just to get through the gameplay because of it crashing. We hope they work on this in the future because we do like the game enough to keep going back to it despite these problems. Update, 6.23.24 the latest improvements have the game crashing even more! Very frustrating how often it happens when engaged in battle. Terrible experience, we play this less and less.

We downloaded the game a couple years ago and it has been amazing, but we took a break a while back and we wanted to start a new account a while ago. We deleted our old account so we could make a new one but it hasnt been approved yet, so we are still waiting to play this amazing game again.
Great game, stays interesting longer than similar games. We enjoy the historical aspect, although, take the dates with some salt. It is clearly one that evolves and cares about improvement. We have enjoyed seeing it grow and develop since we started playing. A few minor suggestions would be: fixing the time period date ranges, and, in the limited-time culture event point redemption menu on the right of the screen, we suggest changing the random item draw icon from a joker card to one more like the mystery commander/mystery refill icons. The joker cards use varies a lot in function between the negotiation joker and the point item. In negotiations, the joker is a true joker and can represent any item, but the point joker doesnt allow you to choose whichever item you want to use to complete the 3-item point exchange. There, it functions only as a random draw, so we think another icon could be used more effectively to communicate to users. Probably an insane thing to write in a review but if youre hiring, let us know. :).
Hello! We loved this game until one day we updated and it reset our data so we just quit. Pleas fix that.
We have been playing this game for years and with the last era that was added (after a year of waiting), its almost impossible to do upgrades that involve carpet. We have tried to reach out to support, but was blown off, so we are venting here. To make carpet, you need cotton, which is the least available resource in quantity and option to buy. Not only that, the amount of carpet needed for an upgrade, isnt reflective of this lack of availability. It is currently taking us over three days with logging in over 6 times a day to be able to upgrade a farm to 36. There are over 12 farms that need upgrading, so we are looking at over a month, just to upgrade.
This game is really fun! The best part is you can make your own alliance/team. We made one around a year ago and it is now full with awesome people we consider friends. However, DO NOT SPEND MONEY!! There are side games within the main game that allow you to earn rewards and items you need to advance. They have decided to make 1 side game permanent. This game involves battling other players and is a permanent icon for selection. YOU DO NOT GET THE REWARDS YOU EARN OR PAY FOR!! When we realized that we were buying gems to purchase game items to help us win the rewards and we wasnt getting them, we contacted support. The first time they said basically that what we were saying wasnt true. The next time we took a screen shot and sent it. Since we had proof they admitted they can check and see what someone has won. Which means when they were calling us a liar, they were actually lying about it. So they gave us the items we won. Now, we have won another half dozen times and not received our items. We are sending screenshots and what they had to say was, this is happening to all the players so if we give you your items we will have to for everybody. They are refusing to give the items we earn with gems we buy. This keeps happening about once a week. We keep sending them screenshots and they refuse to give us what we pay for and earn because they know this is happening game wide and they dont want to simply give what we pay for and/or earn. We told them this is a scam!!! We are paying for these and not getting them. We told them since you are aware that nobody is getting what they pay for and earn, then shut down the side game until it is fixed. They started a new season with the same issue. THEY HAVE BEEN MADE AWARE (AND SAID THEY ARE AWARE) BY 100s (if not 1000s) OF PLAYERS THAT WE ARE NOT GETTING WHAT WE EARN AND/OR PAY FOR AND THEY REFUSE TO FIX IT OR STOP THE SIDE GAME AND FIX IT! THEY ARE KNOWINGLY SCAMMING PEOPLE AND ACCEPTING THEIR MONEY AND NOT GIVING WHAT THEY PAY FOR!!! Again, the game is fun, but DO NOT SPEND EVEN ONE PENNY ON THIS GAME BECAUSE IT IS A SCAM.
We played this all the way back in 2022, and since then we still had this game everyday stuck in our mind, the concept is so fun and everything fits so well and overall its a VERY awesome and fun game.
We thought it was gonna b a clone of every other building game but its pretty unique must play on the App Store very thought out game we will keep this prolly spend eventually.
We give this game 5 stars because it is great and fantastic! There are some things we wish would change, though. We need to bring back unlimited wonder helps and remove these empire event cooldown periods. Right now, we have to wait 19+ hours before we can continue to progress in the empire event. We dont understand why this is necessary or how it benefits the gameplay at all. Why were these two options introduced to the game? All they do is hinder it, as opposed to enhancing it.
This game has been an investment for us and we have enjoyed it thoroughly, but something we really want is there to be a daylight cycle it would make the game much more interesting and honestly beautiful, our favorite time period is most likely the dark ages and would be very excited for that to come, thank you.
This game is great its not a pay to win. We like how you can join/create alliances with other players. But we wish you could trade money and food with people in alliances it would help we have so much money but we have little food. It would also help to add a way to attack others civilizations for resources and money. But over all it is a great game and would be amazing with this in it.
We have been playing this game for about 2 weeks and when we got it it was a really fun game when you start out in the Stone Age everything was affordable but now that we are in the Bronze Age everything is a little bit pricier but other then that its a really fun game if you like timeline games this is the one for you.this game is a time taking game but really entertaining and enjoyable.thank you ninogames for making this game.we might have spelt that wrong whoever made this game thank you we are so glad we got this game.
This could be a great game and we had it installed for a little while but the balance of the game needs improving. You spend most of the time grinding resources and waiting on research. You dont get to battle much because it takes a lot of resources to train then you need a lot of research progression to beat the battles. It could be a good game. We like the battle system if you could do it more and we like the concept of the community itself. Wish it was more balanced.
The game takes over a year to get any where. Changed phones had started from the beginning.
Rise of cultures is a great game but as you get further and further into the game it gets way too hard another thing about it is that we got so far and then lost it all on an update.
We dont like that you have to get money/coins when you already have the blue stuff.
This is becoming one of our favorite games Ive ever had! All the cool evolution and culture really gives a cool vibe! The art style is great and we love how you can use the evolution thing by doing quests.
Towards the beginning the game doesnt seem fun but once you start understanding what to do its soooo fun.
We absolutely love this game and highly encourage anyone to play it. We do have a note for the devs, we really dont want this game to die so please add global chat. It would do a world of good for this games popularity.
This game for the most part is awesome. Dont expect to progress quickly with out major gem expenses. Our major gripe is you have limited space to work with so the only way to store buildings until you need them again is to sell them. When you sell them they reset meaning all the production slots also reset and you lose all the gems you used unlocking extra slots. This alone was almost enough to make us delete this game. So developers? We highly suggest you fix this! Thanks.
This game is so fun! You can build amazing things and out of all those mobile games out there, this one has amazing detail and design. The building also look amazing, too. Best game for growing an empire, too. You have complete control over your empire. Theres even more amazing stuff in the game that we dont spoil but, to the devs, great work.
We know this game is very underrated because they only have 19k ratings. You should definitely try this game if you like Dominations or ROK or clash of clans. Very good graphics and realistic battles in the war area. Coins are kinda hard to get though early game. Same with gems.
We really love the game its extremely fun and good for a long car ride or just a 30 minute break.But all of the updates are annoying.
We have been playing this game for over a year. We have actually spent real money on this game to speed things along – it being the only game we have ever done that on. But it has been possible to thrive and advance without spending, which we have appreciated. The primary in-game currency in the game is gems. Those are helpful for buying special buildings and for speeding things up (like making your way through the treasure hunt faster), and the game gave you chances to win these at a pace of a little over 100 per week on average. That seemed fair and you could save up if you were patient, or spend if you really wanted to move something forward faster than that. Recent changes have curtailed the incidents that spawn these gems and also cut the potential value of the incident. So now we have received 10 gems per week the pst few weeks. That pace will never amount to a meaningful supply. It feels like a betrayal to long-time players and a barrier to growth for new players. It is frustrating to see them alienate their fan base with this move. We will likely move on soon if they dont reverse this move.
What do we do have $6,100,000 how do we even spend it all.
A really peaceful and fun game to play, you can pay if you want to speed things up, sure, but even if you play for free youll find lots of fun doing so, thank you for this game.
We havent played it in a while so we decided to play it. It updates and it just deletes your progress like we were very good and now our progress is gone so Im just going to delete this app.
Game is great. Hopefully the dev can earn some good money to keep developing this game. Its also a very F2P friendly game. We do wish to see more mechanics in the game. But we get that this is a relax casual game.
Us and our brother love this game and its our most played game. We are in the same alliance and love to talk to each other while Im at our grandparents house be cause our brother cant spell so Im a translator for our alliance. Our #1 played game and our #1 best overall game is rise of cultures and we love it so much but sometimes you cant connect to it for no reason. We will have full bars of internet and it will say Please check your internet connection and Im like WHAT? But overall good game.
