The game’s CEO has stated in Utube that it doesnt matter what is offered in the weekend ladders the big spenders will spend anyway. $$$ is the only thing they care about in this game; RUN…… It’s a pay to play and a gamble game using your real money. So you don’t even get a solid prize, pay and maybe you will maybe you won’t odds are definitely not in our favor.
Space Ape finally got us to quit playing this game when in blocked many players from entering game due to pushing a button which never should have been in the game at all. The availability of this button lead players to believe that yet again another rule change had occurred which the company had once again given no notice. Others in the game who pushed that button were completely ignorant of rules saying that button should not have been pushed. The Space Ape blamed players for pushing the button when such action should have been prevented by them by not having the button in the game. Indeed, in similar areas of the game such action is prevented by the game. In addition they took actual money and in game resources from these players and refused to give any refunds. These players were blocked from playing and never even told specifically why such action was taken by Space Ape. Such blockage caused some Kingdoms to loose key high performing players. When Space Ape was contacted by many players, who were blocked, the company repeatedly refused to accept any responsibility for their actions and consistently blamed customers for what should have been easily prevented by the company. Space Apes takes your money, provides a lousy gaming experience and puts the blame of their lack of good programming upon their customers.

A team game, like any other game, has its issues. The ability to make new friends with people all over the world is truly enjoyable. Support gets back to you right away with any issues. Overall very fun to play.
You can get by with spending 20 each weekend for events to gain strength regularly some events dont require money just being active, its addictive and we like the community.. Its 8 years old and people still play it.
We love this game and have played it for more than 5 years. However, there are many inconsistencies in the algorithms used to score. In most events we find that after win streak four, even though we have a way stronger force and ancients at level 70. We will always lose. This of course cost you one of your five stones. Also, the developers are charging way to much and require waaaayto long to upgrade. Nothing much ever gets added to the game that isnt old news. They could add new weapons to the attacking forces like catapults or siege towers. Maybe give the attackers a way to have a shield wall. Just saying!!!
Good game Takes too long to upgrade at higher levels.

Our dad got this game 4 years ago and he has been playing it forever. Even though he is latterly addicted, The game must be good. We’ve played it before and its interesting.

Dont play any games by space ape Youll spend years playing the game and making friends and building your base and then they shut off the servers we spent 5 years playing samurai swings and they told us all to F*** off.
Unless you expect to use your entire life upgrading or getting the in-app purchases offers this game give you no break on moving forward and actually enjoying the experience. The game is real basic with just deploy and pray and the beginning with no fsir match system. You get a thousand ancients that are nearly impossible to get upgrading to max at one terrestrial-life OR even get unlocked. To end our review unless you have a ton of money to diamond to max your account move somewhere else. We been on and off this game and updates are minimum from developers, new levels no different in dynamic to attract new players.
We have been playing Rival Kingdoms for about five years now. We justified it to myself by saying the graphics are excellent. There is no justification however for the inability of the staff there to not deliver what they describe. The players are constantly put on hold, disrepected. The plans for the game are frequently changed mid-stream. We personally strongly do not recommend this game. Annygotrocks.
Lots players are quitting the game. Many unhappy. No good boosts in chest. Need more mana boosts New people join but quit cause they missed opportunity to win new ancients or their ascensions. Lots of members missed out on the ascensions cause points to win event prize too high.
Is there a Christmas update coming soon ?
We play this game every day. We love how easy it is to level up everything without spending a dime. Granted they give you reasons to spend money on here, its still easy to maintain a budget. The interaction is great with other players and respectful. Overall its an awesome way to spend an afternoon. They also have periodic sales events where everything is cheaper in game so its easier to lvl up. We just spent our afternoon getting to lvl 18 finally. Anya.

Great game, no rebuild time BUT you have to spend $$ to get ahead.
We’ve been playing the game on and off for about 5 years. Since we havent spent much money, Im only on level 17 out of 19. The game is fun, but requires serious dedication to collecting resources. Unfortunately, most things you need come in chests, so you cant target any particular item. You just get chests, then a chance to get what you want. The best items always have a low percentage of getting it (7-10%), so you need multiple chests to have any hope of success. You can pay real money for more chests, but still have no guarantee of getting what you want. (Chests cost about $5 each) The biggest problem in the game is the crazy number of different resource items. Every time you try to upgrade a building or troop, you need several different resource items. It gets very frustrating trying to collect all these different things, and because you get things at random, you often end up with lots of stuff you dont want and cant get the stuff you do want. Heres a list of just some of the resource items that you need to collect to build and upgrade things: Gold, rings, diamonds, stones, mithril, mithril shards, astralite, runes, crystals, 6 different kinds of primus, 5 different kinds of gryphon primus, 20 or more different tokens, 5 different extracts, 5 different essences, many different special ingredients, astral stones and gear, boosts, etc… Since all of this stuff comes at random, its very hard to progress in any particular direction. Even when you do finally get all the items to make an upgrade, you still need more and different items to apply the upgrade! Then it can turn out that you cant apply it because one of your buildings isnt upgraded, which cost even more, and upgrades can take 2-3 weeks to finish. All this stuff is put in your way so you will feel compelled to buy your way through it all. So if you enjoy gathering resources and dont mind spending money, then this game is for you!
Spaceape is a company that will destroy a great game after a couple of years because they dont want to continue making new content. They will make lame excuses on why they are killing their game. It doesnt matter how popular a game is they will kill it after a couple of years. The team is lazy in responses and in game development. They had one good game and it soon will be dead. Ill never play another Space Ape Game!
The most boring game ever you will battle the same kingdoms over and over and over back to back for the same amount of gold,, been playing for over a month still have acquired a chaos player.
Used to be better but you can not make progress in the game unless you spend lot of money… Not worth the time.
To slow to progress in this game this is amajor problem.
We have been playing this game on and off for years. Now for the past 2 weeks every time we battle we are fighting the same 2 kingdoms… This is so annoying and we cant find how to contact support for this glitch.
1 yr+ playing, high lvl player. No wait for troop training and fast forward option are excellent, game play is fun. Player feedback (VIP) good concept, & dev response improving. Updates & new features poorly tested before rollout (devs spread too thin?), poor judgement in rectifying dev errors, psych employed to encourage $$$ spending to upgrade quickly all negative factors. Best for hard core gamers with abundant cash or lots of patience. Revisit after yr 2 of playing: game increasingly a money grab for very greedy game company; releases always have bugs & bug fixes take months. Bundles for sale very expensive for what they are, time required to play events has quadrupled. Events are EVERY weekend & if you miss a key prize you can’t progress without 100’s of $ invested to buy, & even then often it is 3-4 months b4 they are made available so Woe to those with a RL. Current high level players are staging a boycott. We recommend you look elsewhere, even tho the game concept was great. YR 3 revisit: events have become a grind and new astralite (ancient boosts) prizes for weak ancients are lame. Diamond and upgrade prizes are severely limited making high level ($80-120 per ancient) pay-to-play a requirement to upgrade. Many loyal players are beginning to quit.
The game can be fun but to be competitive you have to spend a lot of money. Also older devices are not supported and in battle the app kicks you out frequently. SA has no plans to fix the issues.

It an excellent game that doesnt need you to pay to progress. We played this game for three years and have seen it change. Some of the characters are no longer unlock-able which makes a completionist like us a little frustrated because we wasnt able to unlock it when it was out. But overall the game play is good the online community is great and you dont have to pay to play so they get a well deserved three stars. They could get the full five if they allowed you to unlock those characters.
We used to enjoy this game until the recent updates. The game crashes in the middle of attacks causing loss of battles stones. Space ape has not addressed the issues or fixed the problem. The game has become unplayable. It looks like this one is over for me.
But shuts down a lot lately. Mid fight every time you have a event it is frustrating. Also why is just so much to upgrading..

Chatting with global characters is always fun. The higher you get, the worse your lag is.
Nice way to fill free time. Like the fast forward feature. The problem is there are huge spenders in this game (not a problem for the developers) and unless youre one also the height to which you can rise continually lessens. It becomes impossible to defeat the large spenders because the reward for spending are the mythic level ancients which are needed to defeat the maxed kingdoms.
This game is just another pay-to-play game. Sad, because it used to be skill based and able to play without money. But now it is just who can spend the most to win events and buy maxed bases quickest. Really sad how this game turned out. Do not bother to download. Support is non-existent. Dont criticize game, or you will get kicked.
If you dont mind spending a little money here and there its a little easier to get ahead. They are making some improvements based on a survey so we dont want to say too much too soon. If you arent a hardcore player with an aggressively active kingdom dont even dream of getting the top prizes in events.

This game was great until Space Ape was purchased. Now you HAVE to do an event every weekend to keep up with the content. Theyve become money hungry slum lords.
So much better than coc, cc and others. With dragons, magic and everything. Really really really expensive to play and very intense. But loved every minute of it.
We started this game two weeks after it went public. We loved it. Loved the people and that has stayed true after three years. The global community is better than any game we’ve ever played, competitive but without the nastiness many battle games develop. But like others have stated Space Ape has ruined its wonderful game with predatory greed and increasingly charges more and gives less. Events are a grind each weekend and with rare exceptions the reward for the effort spent is lame. Makes us very sad.
Love the game, but its becoming a money greedy bunch. It was fun, but it needs to cut down events and keep the fun in the game. Chests no longer have great prizes in them and chests way too much. Give us a break SA!
Worst game on apple its pay to play pay to win style game. The grind is horrible on weekends and ruins your life dont play this game.
We have an IPhone X, we just updated the app, before the gameplay was too small to fit the screen. Now the gameplay fills the whole screen. We have a that notch in the way, and the edges are rounded. It harder to view the screen. Please to make changes on to fit the aspect ratio on for the iPhone X.

Love the different ancients and playing live with others. Great social game. Dislike customer service. They send an auto reply and then tell you your mistaken or ignore you. ITunes great job of fixing their errors. VIP is determined by no set way. It can be given to a player who never spends any money and plays once a twice a week. Instead of to a daily player of several years who spends some. Events are Getting very pricey seem to be catering to the big spender group. Be wary of this is free game Thats only if you eat sleep and breathe it.
