Community Insight:
If youre wondering if to buy this game, buy it, especially if youre a history buff. If Im being totally honest, this is the best thing you can do with 5 bucks. This game has a variety of empires and each campaign is different from another, yet theres still a strategy factor in it. In fact, the only problem with this game is that you get too invested with it. Now, if the developers are reading this great job with this game. Some advice we have is to add Illyria to the game, as we would feel that would just be much more interesting and interactive. Also, a game we would love to see is a Bronze Age style of this game where the main goal is to survive the Sea Peoples invasions. This is just a suggestion that we would feel would be a great addition. Finally, thank you to all of the developers who edited the game to be better for everyone else. Great game you guys.
Something with the newer update. The game just no longer recognizes touch screen. Nothing wrong with our phone or ipad. Also sound doesnt work on either. Ive deleted and redownloaded it like 5x now on both. Please fix this issue.
We have always struggled total war playing on computers but when we started to play the mobile version we could finally enjoy the master piece.
Love this game. Wish there more expansions and possibly bring other classics like Panzer general and others.
Hello, developers. The first thing we want to say is that this is a great game, but as Ive been playing it for quite some time, Ive started to notice some issues with the unitssometimes they dont move when you give them a command, or they stay in one place when you tell them to move, especially when attacking cities. This causes all of the units to be killed by arrow towers. Please update this game. We really like it.
Love this game! Reminds us of the good ole days.
Think its cool they put it on mobile once we get our new laptop Im going to buy it for our laptop and barbarian invasion we used to have it on our old laptop when we were a kid so itll be fun to play.
Im not new to the total war series but the only one Ive played so far has been empire and now Rome. Im looking forward to playing medieval and we would love to see total war Napoleon Make it to mobile as well.
There is some bugs here and there, but what do you expect for a game Thats 15+ years old on PC we did notice in the historical battles in siege of Gergovia at the beginning what Im assuming is the Roman commanders voice is overlapping with somebody elses voice? It made it very hard to understand but great game.
This game, Ive played since we were a kid and always come back to it for another campaign we hope Rome 2 will be released on mobile.
It is simply the best mobile game Ive played. The first time going through a campaign was so fun and it took a while. We really enjoyed launching invasions of various countries and campaigns into regions.
Overall is an excellent game. One question: why cant you play sea battles!!??? Around half of the reviews Ive read ask the same question, some from 8 years ago! And by the way why does it keep crashing? A civil war, Wild West, revolutionary war, French Indian war, ww1, or ww2 game would be very popular. Very good for iPad\ iPhone. All in all, best strategy war game available anywhere. Great for kids. We are 12, have been playing since we were nine. Love it; thourolly recommend. Thank you to devs for doing such a great job. Keep creating new campaigns.
We cannot believe how well this game runs on mobile. The features cross over so well. It wouldnt let us leave a review on Medieval 2 version, but thats the crown jewel for us. The update they came out with is so impressive. They fixed the game where the pc vanilla version couldnt. That is insane. A mobile version of a game has better service than the original pc version. Thank you feral, doing incredible work.
Please fix the game the touch screen controls dont work, we cant select any option we cant start a game, even we cant skip the intro.
We are obsessed with this game! Now that Total War Empire is out we play this less but still a great game we come back to. Especially when you play Medieval II you realize how clean and put together this game is.
Buy all the games basically they just keep better.
Why yall just dont add navel warfare to the the game.
Best Turn based game on the AppStore, nothing beats this game.
Almost as fun on an iPad as it is on a PC.
Freaking elephants get stuck inside city walls and take forever to get out (if they ever do), but other than that, nice game. Highly recommend.
Ive updated RTW but havent played since that update but now Ive played, Setting troops in line is difficult. We try to set them in a good defensive straight line to maximize the defense, but the stupid finger thing is off and is setting our line more to the right from where our finger is? What is the settings before this update.
We left off on a siege battle after cycle charging the enemy cavalry and skirmish units, wiping them out (Only three enemy units in total) and we had lost probably 30 men from one general unit and 10 from another general unit while doing so. We had used up all of our skirmisher ammo agains their infantry as well doing decent damage to them. (we had been sallying out to weaken them before the actual siege) but then we closed the game as needed at the time then reopened it awhile later to continue the battle. Upon doing so we saw that the enemy cavalry and skirmishers were back at full health but both of our cavalry had lost one commander and about half their strength as well. And our skirmishers had their ammo refilled. So there are clearly some save issues when continuing battles for the game that are a bit aggregating.
At present, when using IPhone 15 PX to fight the Roman Empire, the boundary of the strategic map should normally be black fog, but now it has become red fog. This will also happen after reading the archive or after the round. We hope to solve this problem.
Would give it 5 stars if the sound worked. Other than that, solid game and run really well.
The campaign is fun but then its death by micro management.
It's hard to enjoy the game when half of the Roman army is composed of randomly organized crowds of Rottweilers and handlers dressed like Hollywood legionaries. The Game desperately needs the changes done by Rome Total Realism modification as an option.
Super awesome, just large battles are difficult to coordinate on a phone haha.
Upgrade some graphics we think so Now every phone has the ability to play with higher graphics This is an easy mobile game to add One-on-one fighting Like the rome Total War 2020 and above That allows commanders to fight head-to-head In the offline section.
Idk why but the newest update has ruined the unit placing for us, it has bugged it and flips our soldiers for no reason.
Troops wont move on command commonly issue that definitely needs to be fixed needs more troops and better physics too then it would be a hella decent game still good tho but a lil terrible.
Love the game . Had it on pc back in the day with all the disks and what not . However Im in the middle of a campaign on our iPhone and each time we hit the same part the game crashes on us its happened 4 days in a row we cant get past it . Could really used a solution, other then thats its 5 stars.
It got stuck in the loading files screen and we tried to delete and reinstall it over and over again a but it doesnt fix it, please fix this.
Cant click scroll mini map Cant select multime units without holding control button Even then, cant move them at once Mouse constantly disengages in game, using apple keyboard with trackpad Was fine yesterday.
Thank you for updating the touch screen controls, the battles are now playable. Please do the same for barbarian invasion! We will be eternally grateful. C:.
We love this game and the new update, one thing though is that almost every time you drag a unit onto another unit to fully replenish one of them the game will crash and load back in and the same thing happens. We havent had any other bugs or glitches other than that.
Please fix this last update. This has broken all our saves with the game which causes a crash whenever we try to open the bottom menu for the faction info. This update also broke the friendly units just refusing to move or running forever against the edges of the maps. Even friendly AI controlled units just running forever. Ive had more crashing on this update in the last day than we have had in the last 7+ years playing this game combined. This has basically completely broken the game.
Been playing it a couple months and its great. Played several Roman campaigns. About to try a non-Roman faction. Keep reading positive things about Seleucia but we cant find it even with the Unlock all Faction switch ON? What gives.
We always loved total war and we were excited when Rome came to mobile and get total war Rome 2 we want a sea invasion.
Can you make a attack on titan game like rom total war.
Im blown away by this game on the iPad. A simple summary is that it is a far richer and deeper version of the old Civilization series that we loved. But its more than that. You can get going quickly, but there is an intriguing learning curve of features and tactics you need to play well. There is also a delightful tone and sense of humor. You may wish, like us at first, to be a humane general, but it makes far more sense at times to massacre most of the inhabitants of large cities you capture, because the unruly population will be too difficult to manage otherwise. Then there is the Roman senate, which will reward you for success for a long while, until you become too successful, at which point the senators will betray you. And did we mention the pleasure of using cavalry to chase down enemy soldiers as they try to flee to safety when a battle is going badly for them? Nothing woke here. We spent way more enjoyable hours on the game than we expected. The price is a bargain for the quality. Thanks so much.
Played for years. Good stress reliever for adhd mind.
Great. Can you conquer the world in this wonderful game? Only one way to find out.
This game is extremely good. We would recommend playing it if you are a military gamer.
Cmon we neeeeed a sequel you better answer us if u know whats good for you..lol 47 hours ago we wrote this and theres still no sequel.
We have been playing this game for the past 3 years! Such an amazing experience facing off against the Roman Republic using different factions at different difficulty modes. The only wish we have for Christmas is for Total War: Rome II to be released. Thank you again for releasing this incredible game on the iOS.
We appreciate them bringing g back the old game with no huge changes. We would like to see them bring back other great games such as Empire total war. We would definitely pay for that.
Hands down our favorite game of all time and its a blast now that its on the iPad.
We kinda miss how games were before phones. We dont like how they are now these huge expensive productions like a blockbuster movie (obviously this is great sometimes) or these crappy little scams on the App Store. Its so refreshing to see a real game like this. Its worth every penny and unlike other phone games you only pay once up front. Its not perfect, we really really hate the hard touch to bring up the tutorial. Maybe our screen is not calibrated right but it is sooooo frustrating and we wish you could turn that off. Some of the other controls are kinda tough as well but for a couple of dollars you get to play an a+ game for as long as you want and of course it has the depth to make this an enjoyable proposition. Amazing. We want more good ports fyi we got tropico too! Love it.
Please try to port empire or napoleon total war if possible.
So Ive not been playing games for a while. Life got in the way and all that stuff. Well, this game looked interesting, so we bought it. Boy have we lost sleep over it! Ive genuinely never felt this addicted to a game in a LONG TIME! The combat is awesome, as well as the strategy and the governors system. 10/10 game! We will definitely be coming back for more from this publisher and this game company! You, our good fellows, have earned a life long customer.
