Community Insight:
We played a game with the computer and nobody could win and the game didnt respond.
We've always heard of this game in hearing one version of the name but we couldn't find it till now. The music is soothing and easily calms your nerves when your in the process of seemingly losing, the great thing about this game is that unlike strategies of attrition like chess you really have to use strategy to win, as it forces you to move in defense while at the same time moving in a way that can help you win but deceive your opponent as you do so. For any martial artist, military professional, law enforcement officer, or a recreation strategist this this a great game to both play and learn. Plus consider that this is an older game than chess that few know about so consider yourself that much more cultured and intelligent to get a game like this. For those of you who don't know the rules get five in a row in any direction including horizontal first…wins, and yes it can be harder than it looks. The biggest challenge is doing so with the least pieces be sure to block your opponent from doing so. And you can place a piece on any area where lines intersect that includes the outer portions of the grid. So hope you enjoy and good luck. Keep mind for you military professionals, many military leaders in the Navies around the world play this game with each other, as a way to test there strategic skills with each other so it would be better for you to stay ahead and not rely on attrition based games like chess or battleship, etc.
Good game. AI provides a challenging game unlike others that are just too easy to beat.
Lost a game and now it won't start a new one.
Too bad it freezes up after the game is played. Oh well, there are other games that can be downloaded and will play correctly.
Best playing with friends. AI is a bit weak when playing single mode.
Simply Gomoku is an apt description for this game. It gives you a well-presented game of Gomoku with no frills and does a very nice job. The AI seems to be fairly strong and is challenging. It's free too.
It's a great app, either can be played with computer or with friends. It is so fun to use this game.
We've looking for a computer based Go game for a while and really enjoy this one. Playing against the computer is a good challenge. Yes, it can beat you in less than ten moves if you don't pay attention to the board. For those not familiar with the game, the object is to place five markers in a row either up/down, across, or diagonal.
After less than 10 moves, it says you've lost the game, even though you haven't.
We like this game because it's challenging.
This is a simple yet challenging game. It's nice and one of few non-flashy easy to unwind with games. Highly recommended.
Very fun game. The computer takes no mercy.
This computer game is unlike other computer games. It is more smart and challenging.
We win about one game in three, which is about the right amount of challenge when we want to unwind. Like the music and the fact that it shows which move the computer made. Good graphics.
This game is everything we wanted it to be. It is simple yet challenging. The new music makes the experience even better.
This is a good game, but it lacks some things. For example, this game is not at all realistic. No gomuku player will ever place a move in less than half a second unless they possess some supernatural gift or brain power. Also, it needs to have a difficulty player. Overall, though, this is worth it. All we're saying is that if you had to pay for this game, it would definitely not be worth the $1.99 or whatever.
Game is too straight forward. There are no simple rules like no 3×3. Too easy to beat the computer. Should make a menu of rules and level of difficulty. Otherwise great game.
Excellent app!! To open everymind.
Upgraded to 1.3 and and it's awesome. Playing against computer is a lot of fun. Forbidden moves give better balance. Win/lose records are kept. Also graphics is improved. This is simply the best free Gomoku game.
Computer is very good—we win less than 30 %. However, the 3-3 move is forbidden only for us and computer can freely do 3-3. It is unfair. Also, the big crying snail covering the board is not a good idea.
We love this game. However we have one complaint. If we lose a game the big snail picture comes up and it covers the whole game board preventing us from studying the board to see how we went wrong.
Frustrating addictive and difficult…, yet a beautifully simple format. Would love to see the losing screen so we could analyze the board before it is hidden…we'd be willing to give the game a higher rating with that improvement.
Lack of a difficulty setting, and the inability to clear your history will quickly enrage casual players. The game is interesting, but infuriating without dedication. If you're looking for a way to pass the time, this isn't it. If you have enough patience and free time to play consistently and offset the losses from learning… You probably don't need a free app. 2 stars for potential.
We don't usually like games, but this is to us very challenging to us. You have to study your moves carefully or the next thing you know, the computer wins. Our only complaint about the game is once you lose, you can't see where you should haves moved.
Not worth buying. Needs a way to play against computer.
