The game, despite the minimal gameplay (three mini games (despite the vague promise of 30+ games), though we wish we got to stay in the fake Phone OS from the beginning of the game. Maybe access our photos from there, and decorate our fake phone screen, while several opportunities for storytelling with the mail app could occur like a side plot.) hooks you with a great story and achievements to unlock lore. We were excited to see what was to come next, but the game was split into 3 seasons: You have to purchase the other 2. (Maybe we shouldnt pay directly, but rather do something like watching ads or playing the minigames actively for a long time.) Unfortunately, the purchases fail to show up, meaning you cannot progress any further, and considering the story and lore, youll want to find out what happens next. We hope the developers revisit this game, fix those bugs, and implement more engaging features: we just want to get back into the plot immediately. Despite being a person with a broad vocabulary, we have no words. 5/5.

High-concept sci-fi in a cutesy package. We bought the 2 additional seasons and dont regret it.

Our favorite game that we’ve played in some time. Highly recommended.

All we need to say. Sure some of the choices don’t really make a difference in the storyline but the story is so amazing it makes up for that.

What an amazing work of art. We cant believe we’ve only just found it. Didnt expect to get so attached to the characters and story. It warmed our heart on so many occasions and made us feel stuff that we dont normally feel, which is a gift. Cant wait to buy the next seasons!

One of the only games we don’t regret buying additional content for. The story and characters are enthralling. The art style is great. Definitely worth a try. 10/10 would recommend.

We had high hopes for this game. But the choose your own adventure stuff seemed pointless- there’s no indication that anything we did mattered. What’s worse are the awful, PURPOSEFULLY TEDIOUS mini games. Literally after every choice you make, there is an arbitrary wait time, sometimes up to several HOURS, to see the resolution. You can mitigate this-slowly- by grinding through one of two awful mini games. We really don’t understand that design decision. There is no point in making the player wait. There are no ads, there are no micropayments, there’s just "pick who you want to drive the ship, then come back in an hour to see how that went!" our advice: – add branching storylines – make the consequences of your choices more obvious – ditch the mini games. They’re pointless and tedious.

While ostensibly a choose your own adventure game to save the human race, Star Billions turns out to be much more than that. It is charming as a game, but completing both Seasons 1 and 2, we personally found it more compelling and moving as an immersive, philosophical experience. The story centers around questions of what it means to be alive, the significance of choice, and the long-term impacts of societies and cultures on their respective planets. The game storyline gives similar outcomes regardless of your choices, which at first glance is frustrating, but then makes sense when you learn the story has a long-term arc through 3+ separate Seasons (available via in-app purchase). In spite of the linear story outcome, the player still comes away with the feeling that their choices have impact and significance. The game is lovingly crafted, with cleverly designed characters (each of which has a clear personality and growth arc), a unique and twisting storyline, and excellent sound effects. Some players find the mini-games grating, but as a lover of the old Gameboy console, we found them quite charming–although we would welcome more mini-game options. You can pretty easily burn through 1.5-hours of wait time playing the asteroid mini-game, and average wait times are 10 mins between scenes and 1.5-6 hours between chapters. Overall we would highly recommend Star Billions to sci-fi fans who enjoy a good story with mystery elements that makes them ponder life. While the storyline has moments both heartwarming and gut-wrenching, it also offers good insights on friendship, choice, and the value of different personalities and strengths (particularly in Season 2). Kudos to the developers for an awesome and unique experience!

We are excited to keep playing and progress. Well done!

It’s rare that we feel so immersed in a game these days- and, aside from this one, never on a phone. All the AI characters are likable and relatable, and the lore is exquisite. The story overall rings of tragedy but never without the light of hope, which sometimes it delivers upon. We recommend getting all the achievements, as those reveal additional lore, and we’ll admit that we can’t wait for the third season. Strange, funny, heartwrenching that was the tag line of MOTHER 3, but it would also be a fine tag line for Star Billions. It’s sad there’s no fandom stuff for it, as there’s so much potential and we just want more????

It’s a fresh take on waiting games. We’re really enjoying it.

Who knew in 2 days we got so attached to the characters. All the characters are adorable and likable. Interesting story and a wait time that leaves you in the edge.

Despite the waiting, it being linear and tedious at times, we finally finished this game albeit months later. It has an overall great concept idea with kinda poor execution. We only finally got attached to the characters near the end; another flaw is that the choices you make don’t seem to matter or have a lot of impact on the overall story. Many things didn’t make sense and seemed to be a part of the plot just to make it longer. This game is more like an interactive story than a game. It has clean, cute-ish cartoony graphics and a decent story that kept us entertained.

Anyone know how much chapter 2 cost? No price was mention and there’s no way we would consider buying it without knowing the price first…

Pros: a mini game that allows you to pass time in between scenes Storyline is easy to follow Choices can be made that will affect the outcome. Cons: Not a lot of direction when you first play the game.. Not really sure if they are trying to give the feeling that you are on a device and stumble across the characters but could have been executed better. There are only two mini games and they get repetitive after a while especially since one game at first only gives you 20 seconds off the time. Actual Gameplay time isn’t really that long. Maybe an hour or two at most. In between scenes you have to wait about 8 hours for the next scene.

Love the storylines – how fun! Very inventive & very cool graphics! Great for sitting down and playing a bit longer than your usual app.

This game completely blew us away. It had the perfect mix of plot, characters, and gameplay. Both seasons were extremely well done and had a great storyline that left you wanting more. The characters were a lot of fun, each with a unique personality. We especially loved null! If there is a way you could possibly bring him back as a fifth AI or give him a bigger story that they need to find out that would be awesome. Gameplay wise was great as well. We really liked the scene where they confronted the curse, it was fun being able to choose a bunch of different options at once. The storyline did get a little dark for a while so maybe it would be good to lighten it up again? Plus a new mini game would be cool. Really looking forward to the next season! We would love to know when you plan on real easing it. Thanks for being awesome!

We were intrigued hearing about this game on Polygon. They said it was a game that doesn’t want you around all the time. We had to see this for myself. We were very impressed. This game uses the iOS very well. The main game mechanic is getting to know the characters and helping them make decisions at critical times in the story. The story is very well-written, humorous, and intriguing. Season 1 is free right now, so try it out for yourself.

Though we thought it was a bit strange in the beginning, we were sad when it ended! Good game!

StarBillions is a heartwarming tale of what it means to be human told thru the lens of four AIs searching for a new home for humanity. After finishing the first chapter (free) we did not hesitate to purchase the next one. The mini games are easy, but repetitive, however the point of the journey is the movement we experience with the characters. We hope that there is a third season released.

Really expertly crafted. So glad we played both seasons!

>Started game >Hacked into satellite >Put in charge of all humans >Got to play NES games given to us by a cat 10/10.

This game looks and sounds awesome. Haven’t played anything like it before. Definitely recommend!!

What a cool game! It’s something we’ve never seen before. We don’t even really know how to describe it. It reminds us of a TellTale game in some ways with the choices that you have to make but that’s not it either. Anyways, it’s cool and different. Memorable characters with awesome concept. Highly recommended if you are looking for something new and different.

A friend turned us on to this bc we like visual novels and said this one had different endings, so of course we had to play it bc those animal AIs are just too cute to leave adrift in space! We really enjoyed our first play through and couldn’t wait to get the other endings. Except. There don’t seem to be any other endings. No matter which AI we choose to leave in charge, the same things happen in each progression, offering only minor dialogue changes. This really disappointed us, bc the game actually has less time in between scenes in each progression, and playing the minigames actually chews through the wait time as well, but we’ve done three play throughs now, the third we chose sarge for everything just to see if we could derail the plot and much to our dismay, it seems there is only one story. It’s unfortunate bc it’s pretty well written and we actually grew pretty fond of the characters, and despite these complaints we really did enjoy our first play through very much and you should too, but… Don’t expect more from the game second time around. Multiple play throughs will unlock more data but it’s basically journal entries to get you thinking about the rest of the story. We’ll stay tuned to see if this goes anywhere but we’re pretty disappointed overall. Excellent first time though. Definitely play this at least once. Sorry we can’t give more than three stars in good conscience. :’c laci is our waifu.

This game is very well crafted and seems to have a pretty interesting story, having different outcomes depending on your choices made. However, to get to the next "event" in the game, you either have to wait an hour or more, or you play tediously simple mini games. It would be more tolerable if there was more than just 2.. At least 5 would be amazing. Plus, add some more heart into them, such as enabling difficulty levels. The waiting just seems completely unnecessary, and there could be something instead of it as filler. Honestly, we’re tired of waiting forever with iOS apps, though we are glad there are no in app purchases.

The icon is changed and now it is the most cutest with the bunny. This app is suitable for kids from 5 to 8 years old. Graphic is so nice with very cute characters and so high interactive.

This app is great to play and entertain, his characters are incredible each has original features, the illustration is very good, also it presented diagramming.

Star billions is a very original upgrade game in its good strategy, its mechanism is excellent and very entertaining, its fluidity is perfect and very beautiful graphics and illustrations, we love.

Visually star billions has the most beautiful graphics and the game itself is interesting and fun to play.

5 stars for the awesome graphics and fun gameplay. Very good controls too. The characters are so cute and adorable.

This app is great. We’re really enjoying it. The graphics are beautiful and it runs very good on our phone. Love it.

So recommend for kids. We really love this game, especially the graphic is quite cute and nice. Just so right for kids to experience.

This game is a choose your own adventure with a fun but challenging mini game built in (you play the mini game to shorten the time between actions). Unlike Lifeline, your choices can definitely send you down many a branching path. The AI characters are quite amusing and you can definitely relate to them. There are also nice bonuses like unlockable databases which shed more light on the story.

The gameplay is incredible fun and has great characters, their skills are different and the game has very good illustrations and wonderful details.

Going in we didn’t know what to expect but Star Billions delivers. This game is very charming and really a very unique game experience not to be missed.

Variety of characters makes this game fun, has many stories are fun and also has very good illustrations and quality of effects and colors it is incredible upgrade.

This game took us a little while to figure out/catch on, but once we did, we really enjoyed the characters, the dialogue and storyline, and the little asteroid shooting game within the game. Update: cute new icon, and the game seems to run smoother overall.

Excellent application, we like it because it is Very useful recommend.

Great "choose your own story" game. This game reminds us other great titles like lifeline. But we think you should make the story longer and make some more outcomes. Other than that great game!

A very unique experience that looks good, but is a bit too wordy and drawn out.

It’s kind of boring. There isn’t a lot to the game. You get to pretend to interact with a space ship. We like setting to leader.

We really do like this game but found it lacking in two ways. 1. Should be longer. We played through it in less than a week. 2. It doesn’t have much replay value because we didn’t notice any difference to the story the second time we played though it and made different decisions. We had the same outcome no matter which character’s suggestion we chose.

This game is so fun. The story is entertaining and the mini game is fun it never gets old. It is totally worth $2.99. If your looking for a good game and have three dollars to spend buy this game.

Loved the game can’t wait for season 2.

Love the game! Been playing all day!!

The story and characters were amazing!

Whoever wrote this game -knows-how to write. This is a wonderful, delightful, affecting little curio from people who care about games. Great job!
