Star Wars™: KOTOR II Reviews

This is our favorite video game of all time. Always has been since it came out. Brilliant story, excellent gameplay, and we honestly think the visuals still hold up today. Aspyr has done an amazing thing putting two of the best games ever made on the App Store.

The only issue we have is the running speed, its a lot slower than it is on pc, the only way our character can run kind of quick is the speed boost. But we have to use that every 2 min. Pleeeeeaaase change the speed, thank you.

A fantastic game: one of all time our favorites.

The game was buggy it first came out for PC. The fact that it runs this smooth on a tablet is nothing short of amazing. The only real issue we have is equipment management for the party. Normally it can be done from the Ebon Hawk/characters ship. The buttons are so tiny to switch from different companions on the ship to Change their load out make them almost impossible to hit on touch screen. Managing characters equipment is a massive pain because of this. If the buttons were just made a little bigger when switching between characters from the inventory menu we would literally have no complaints on this game.

If you can manage to install the restored content mods, itll make this game even better. The price might be a bit high, but its a fair price tag for this under-appreciated classic.

We really like the game but we were curious about if there files to the mobile app for iPhone or iPad. If there isnt its ok.

Please bring backbone controller support.

Does this game support the Dual Sense controller?

Love the game and just wanted it on our mobile so we always have it. Our Xbox is long dead and was just happy to see it on here, you can play with a controller and its perfect for what it was and always will be. Graphics got a touch up we think? It looks better on our phone than what we remember on the disk, and nothing was lost so 10/10 11 if Im being honest. We forgot how deep the story goes as its been years since we’ve played it. If youre on the fence about buying it then we dont know what to tell you other than its a mistake not to unless you can find a cheaper version. If you dont want it why have you read this far, and if you want it why in all glory are you waiting?

Its Kotor nuff said. Its amazing almost twenty ears ago it took a console bigger than a shoe box to run this and now we can play it on our phone. We love it and it runs better than on the original Xbox as too. But please update it so we can play it with our Razer Kishi. Much appreciated!

We absolutely cant describe how much of a masterpiece this game truly is. From its deconstruction of the entire Star Wars universe to the amazing characters such as Atton, Kreia, and Visas. If you are a hardcore Star Wars fan then you are seriously doing yourself no service every day you arent playing this game.

Incredibly involving story and excellent on the iPad as long as you skip the swoop bike racing quests, which is unplayable on an iPad.

Thank you for bringing this game back. Always loved it on Xbox dying to play it with better graphics and other advancements thank you again.

Its awesome and fun to play but near the end it can be confusing do to all the tasks.

KOTOR 2 in all its uncut glory for those of you planning on purchasing this game we highly recommend you use The Sith Lords Restored Content Mod (TSLRCM) as theres a mobile version of the mod now and its a must to fully experience the great story KOTOR 2 tells as for the quality of the port itself its pretty darn good if you enjoyed KOTOR 1s mobile port than youll also enjoy KOTOR 2 if theres one criticism we could give however its that the menu text is kinda small but not illegible overall it plays practically like the first game and its story is a masterclass in storytelling you cant go wrong with some good ole KOTOR 2 If you have trouble installing the mod just look up a guide on YouTube thats how we figured it out.

We love KotOR 2 so much! KotOR 1 is great too but we love being able to train our companions to be Jedi and the stuff that goes along with that. Our only humble request would be if the Devs could pretty please update this with The Restored Content Mod if thats at all possible. We’ve never played the cut content before and we dont have a PC to play on.

This is the only series of games we have played on mobile that we feel has been worth the price we paid, not only that we feel like it would be worth it if we had to pay 4x as much, we cannot recommend both these games more :)

The comments are getting us hyped for when it installed right now its still downloading.

Why couldnt you release this masterpiece earlier to mobile.

Can yall please add an update so the game will work with controllers that are connected to the phone.

We are so glad they made this for a mobile platform! This is one of our all time favorite Star Wars games ever!

We’ve finished this game and we did finish it as soon as it came out on iOS but we wish that their were achievements for certain things like if you finish the game and beat Kreia then you can start a new game with cheats on letting you add whatever you want from the game into your inventory or when you beat Sion or nilus you can start the new game wearing their armor if you complete the game with at least 75% dark side you at level 20 get the force ability of force sabers or at 75% light you at level 20 get world knowledge or if you finish at complete gray Jedi or Sith then you get at Korriban or a hidden chest on Dantooine you get a light side or dark side of Revans armor or lightsabers. That was a lot and we just want something new o the game because we’ve just gotten bored of the repetitive story with the same items.

Best Star Wars game of all time.

This is probably the best game series we have ever played, the storyline is amazing and so is the rest of it. This is one of the few sequels that improves on the first part. There is one issue. This game obviously sets up for another game, or another part of the game at least, but it just ends after fighting kreia. MAKE A PART 3.

The demand is there, please add this. Id like to be able to play this game with our razer kishi.

Why are you reading our review? There are a billion reviews of this out there! Go read a classic one from the 2000s and get hyped! It is 4 stars only because there is no gamepad support yet, unlike the first game ported by Aspyr. These guys have all of our respect for the amazing work they do, and Im sure that the gamepad support will come. At the moment though, its a pretty glaring absence. Im not a fan of touch controls, so Im looking forward to being able to play this with our Razer Kishi. If thats not something that bothers you, then theres no reason not to get this game. KOTOR 1 and 2 are the best RPGs you can put on your iPhone, no competition.

About the second or third time we played the game it started behaving weird. We cant trigger the narshaddah red eclipse and stuff disappears. We have been all over everything in the game and came back from three planets. The entire visas thing and all of the quests on narshaddah. Still no red eclipse. Quello appears twice and thats it. Have to reinstall it a second time and hope it works. It works fine the first time you play. After two games and a reinstall its crashing or not continually getting anywhere.

Definitely needs a part 3… So much is left to be desired but we still believe this is the direction that Star Wars games should go in. Years later and Im still glued to the screen. Thank you for making this mobile and we pray a part 3 is in the making Happy gaming and may the force be with you.

CONTROLLER SUPPORT! Please!!! We love playing this game and still will play and beat it using touch, but if you had support so we could use our backbone with it it would be an easy 5 stars.

We purchased our app for iPhone since our iPad is not compatible. We would like to be able to enlarge screen text. Just started playing the game.

Runs so smooth the only downside is dragging your fingers all over the screen letting you miss a lot of whats going on. Please add this for kotor and kotor II please be so gracious to let us have controller support for both titles!

Great game but no backbone/Kishi controller support is a bummer, especially since KOTOR1 has it.

We love this game to death, having played it numerous times throughout the years. We were introduced to it by our father but we were hooked to it before we could even read. That being said, this mobile port was a great Christmas present to myself last year, and being able to play it on mobile has been amazing. However, ps5 controllers do not work on this version, which deeply saddens us as we do not have a micro usb charger for our older DualShock 4 anymore. Once they fix/introduce ps5 controller support, itll be 5/5 stars for us!

When doing restoration droid quest talking to the client (Habat) when trying to say (I have the droid) option it kicks you out of the text sequence.

After the cutscene of you getting captured on Na Shadaa, its glitches out; then force closes. Please fix this as we are eager to continue to play.

Love playing the classic KOTOR games, especially the second game. Recently beat KOTOR we on iOS with a razor Kishi game controller and was very satisfied. However, KOTOR II does not have the same controller support/options as the first game and we are truly disappointed because it made playthrough incredibly fun and immersive using our game controller. We wish KOTOR II had the same controller support as KOTOR I.

Apparently the game doesnt support wired Made for iPhone controllers at all which is kinda ridiculous this day in age. Kinda seems lazy considering KOTOR 1 does but not 2.

When the game first came out on console, like KOTOR one, it changed the field of gaming in big and great ways. Now that the KOTOR series is mobile they have the potential to do it again. The first has controller support, but this one doesnt. Both games have some bugs and clunky controls, and KOTOR twos are worse. We loved these games, and we want to love them again, but thats hard to do without a controller and so many bugs. Dont get us wrong, even without the controller the games are still pretty good, the developers knew how to work with touch screens, but they could be so much better.

Overall an amazing game but we’ve encountered a game breaking bug on the the ravager where we cant place the final explosive change, making further progression impossible. Its an awesome game but unfortunately Ill never see the end of it.

Our favorite game of all time, but theres no denying that the first game got a MUCH better port to iOS. Very little was done to optimize the interface – its essentially just the pc interface with touch controls. This can be very frustrating at times since we constantly found myself double-tapping things accidentally or struggling to get our touch to register on a button. Second, the overall bugginess of NPC pathing really gets exposed with the poor controls. KOTOR2s combat was always a lot buggier than the original but when you cant fluidly move you character these pathing bugs get really annoying. Lastly, its just not very well optimized from a tech standpoint either. It chews through our battery 10x faster than the original does, and thats not all that much of an exaggeration. Overall its still awesome to have this on our iPad, but sadly this port is just objectively inferior to the PC version in almost every way.

We love the game and think the port is done well, but it only gets three stars because we cant play with our controller in KOTOR 2, but we can with the port of KOTOR. If game pads support is added then this is a 5 star game.

We love the KOTOR series and 2 was one of our favorite games of all times; that said, every item for us only breaks down into 1 component. This isnt insanely game-breaking, but we enjoy to make our character very over powered and you need components to do that. If this gets fixed Ill up our review!

We just downloaded KOTOR 2, we have the nimbus + controller but the game isnt recognizing it. Any ideas or support?

Even with all the fixtures B D drops dialogue abruptly when he asks what kind of light saber we want to make. We play on IOS so we seemingly dont have access to the restored content mod. We guess Ill finish this play through with just melee swords since we already have flurry and crit hit maxed… Feels like we got a nasty cut from someones vibroblade.

When Im in combat with multiple people, our character keeps exchanging blows and is running all over the place and we die really quickly. Please fix this.

We love this series but there are major bugs. One specifically that prevents you from finishing the game. We have gone to every planet and completed all quests but the game wont advance. We just fly around to the planets and nothing triggers.

The narrative of the game is interesting and really well done. But the game – not really: – Karma points, light and dark side, like zombifying imposement of what is right and wrong. – The game lacks many explanations and info about its mechanics and progression. Youll need to use wiki, or to figure out it yourself through multiple tries and reloads. – There is a bug with reloading a save game. Sometimes it loads incorrectly, or in the middle of the battle. Verdict: the game is linear and flawed in many ways, but the story makes gaming worth your while.
