Starbeard is a roguelike romp that turns match 3 puzzles on their head, combining tactical tussles and community developed content, all with characters that’ll leave you starry eyed.
In this constellation matching, bug crunching adventure, players will explore beautiful levels and challenge beastly bosses.
The evil Gnomad wants to destroy the environment with his insatiable gluttony, whilst his pansy of a brother is out to get filthy rich. Despite this, players will spread gardens throughout the Galaxy with the colourful and crazy powers of the Starbeard Gnomes, and can also create a gnome of their own design!

If you enjoy matching games that have depth to them, do yourself a favor and get this game. Dev, For the record, we also would have paid more for your game. If you are planning on releasing additional levels, feel free to personally charge us a few bucks. Id prefer to get to play more great games without ads and p2p nonsense. Our only real issues are that we wish that we could backtrack on accidental moves. It would also be nice to be able to backtrack and play the other levels on the paths too. If anyone is looking for a similar game that has just as much depth, check out Shift Shaft. It might look unassuming, but it is just as good as StarBeard.
Just narrowly edged out the hornet on Mars, and we are finding it quite an engaging title. Looking forward to seeing more from this developer!
Starts easy, gets hard enough to make you think and plan well without being unfair. No ads, cash shop, energy system, or other nonsense. Looking forward to more from Jolly Good Games (and willing to pay more!).
Im still figuring out how it all works, but wow, its super cool and so well designed. We also appreciate the great price with no ads or IAPs. We happily support good developers like this. Thank you for a unique game thats really well done!

Cool nice approach to match 3 battler. Since there are only 3 turns, and swiping could be mistakenly made, which get you into critical situations, undo would be great add.
We played through the storyline 2 or 3 times before not picking it up again. For us the enjoyment of roguelikes are their mediocre to brutal difficulty but through our 2/3 playthroughs we didnt lose a single time. This in combination with the occasional feeling of luck-based frustration made us enjoy the game for its price, but ultimately dont see myself enjoying it long term.
The game is super engaging and you can actually deckbuild decently. One flaw: you can get stuck under a bug and without being able to move gems, you cant take any actions or end your turn. Unless Im missing something, you cant proceed if you get stuck in this predicament. Im on the boss in a super dominating run and this game breaking flaw happened. We doubt its intentional, please let us be able to end our turn.
Have no idea what youre even supposed to be doing or what the goal of the game is.
No freemium ad driven gameplay here. Just a fun puzzle game. Our only complaint is we played through all the content in 3 days and wish there more :)
You’ll never know how fun swapping flowers and swatting bugs is until you try it.
We’ve already beat it with 3 of the characters. Great game.
