This is an amazing game. Good story and a nice array of characters to collect and choose from. It’s a turn based rogue like action rpg. Levels are randomly generated so replaying at harder difficulties doesn’t get stale. No in app micro transactions!! We were losing faith on iOS gaming and this doesn’t feel like a port. At its core it is very similar to the game Worms but it still feels really really fresh. Sound and visuals are nice and run so smoothly. We recommend if you like strategy, skill and action. We’re addicted to leveling up characters to see what new abilities unlock. There’s weapons and items to collect and sell as well as a nice and fair star system while completing missions/levels.
Get this game. Someone finally decided to make a game that doesn’t look and play like all the other ones. Further more, you buy it once and you get to enjoy it. You don’t have to buy and buy "water". Expect many to try copy them.
This is an awesome mobile game and the hype is warranted. Has an XCOM turn based style gameplay combined with steam punk robots, great graphics and soundtrack. It’s nice to purchase a quality title without fleecing you for additional IAP. Our only complaint, devs please add the available DLC to IOS!
Completely addictive and beautifully crafted. Check out the soundtrack. The game turned us on to Steam Powered Giraffe. Great game and great music to boot.
This game is a must buy. I, like many others blindly picked this up in hopes that I’d find something to pass our time and this had quickly become one of our favorite strategy games of all time, hell, we wish there were more levels we could play, but even at that a lot of levels are randomly generated offering a lot of replay-ability, regardless we highly recommend this, and props to the developers for an incredibly well crafted premium game.
This is the only game we play on our phone right now.
We rarely find iOS games that we get into but every once in awhile something great comes out. This is the every once in awhile game.
Amazing pay once and play game, one of very few in the App Store. Most of the games on here are pay to win, and that just kills it. This game costs money, but you will have so much more fun on here than any other game. We would love to see a second game to the series, or maybe even some more work for the developers. Great work, we would love to see a multiplayer aspect possibly as well. A turn system similar to the way the game works would be perfect. Either live or else payed over an extended period of time. 10/10 would recommend to anyone looking for a fun game to play that you can just enjoy without consistent annoying ads telling you to buy things. Well done, look forward to your next game.
Fantastic, turn-based combat game. The story looked enjoyable, but we honestly just played through, because we loved the mechanics so much.
If you’re sick and tired of the games that have a thousand combinations for a point system to nickel and dime you to death, then this game is for you! It has a great story line (sci-fi western) and is really fun to play!
This game had us Hooked right away. Great strategy!
Choose and equip your crew for each mission. Choose when and where they shoot and move. The bosses are a challenge, and its fun to repeat missions to not only build up points but also teach yourself the best way to deal with each kind of enemy. Beware the black hole at the end, though. Maybe we misunderstood but it reset our game progress to noth8ng, leaving only with a postcard for all the hours, and hours and hours, we spent building our experience and inventory. We are too sad to replay the game now.
Either we were having too much fun, but playing it a little bit over a span of two weeks, when we beat the final boss we didn’t think we were done with the whole game… We mean there were still loads of guns we didn’t have. But we could definitely see another world or two added.
This game is simply brilliant!
There are few interesting strategy games on iOS and this is one of them. The later levels were less fun but it still is a great experience.
We love how there are multiple modes, so you can either take it easy through the story, or challenge yourself! Cute characters, interesting story, and of course, GREAT music by Steam Powered Giraffe!

Great game. Impulse buy, which is rare for us, but we feel we lucked out. Longer than we expected too, 30 hours and still not done. Great game. Worth the $.

Excellent game with great detail. Very fun. Loved it, but it was over before we knew it.
Ok, first of all, we wasn’t able to stop playing this game for 10 missions. Now, we’re pretty much the same way. These missions aren’t like other games; they’re actually strategic. You can go in just shooting, but you will probably be more successful if you plan out your shots and placing different robots in different spots. So, we recommend this game to anyone who likes to play games in which you actually plan everything. We would say it’s worth every single penny.
At first we thought the cost of this game was too high. Nonetheless after spending 30 hours beating it we realized that it is worth every penny. E.V.E.R.Y P.E.N.N.Y. The quality was exceptional and even at the ending we were sitting at the edge of our seat. The only con is that we are now sad that it is over. The cost might seem high at $6.99, but after playing it all the way through, we would pay triple it’s cost knowing what we know now. We ask the developer to please make a part 2 as this is the best game we have ever played on the iPhone thus far.
We know there have to be people like us, who find 99% of mobile games (even some very popular ones) woefully shallow, basic, boring, and generally aimed at kids. At least half of them are just a veneer for micro-transactions, many are ports of games that are much better experienced the way they were intended, and the ones that you can tell are from original creative developers that LOOK SO GOOD in the trailers often just feel incomplete and underwhelming after about an hour. If you love mobile games, thats great, Im glad for you. Our entire point is that if you are like us and you keep finding disappointment in this medium, this is one of those 7 or 8 diamonds in the rough games on iOS. Its fun for a mobile game, its fun for a game just in generalthe game is just a lot of fun. Play it on veteran difficulty, get a scoped pistol as soon as possible, and have a blast ricocheting bullets into robot skulls, with light but well done RPG mechanics. Worth 5 bucks. PS If you do happen to read this, happen to feel similar to us, and buy the game and happen to enjoy it, go buy the Banner Saga trilogy too. Thanks.
First of all the idea of the game is really Amazing and the graphics are great too. Its everything you want in a strategy game. The one thing that Im wondering about is another coming out soon. At the ending of the game it left the game at a cliffhanger if there is another one coming out please tell me.
Downloaded for a quick distraction, discovered a deep satisfying and fun strategy rpg. Over 12 hours in now and its continuing to surprise and challenge. Far past our expectations for an iOS game. 10/10.
We’re sick of games that nickel and dime you, we’re sick of games that create artificial time limits so you have to buy something to speed it up, we’re sick of games that ask you for ratings or to advertise for them on Facebook. This game has none of those things! Just a high quality, long game that’s extremely fun with nice graphics and a great sense of humor. Thank you for this!

We saw this game a while back, but only just now decided to buy it, a couple months ago. From the minute we opened it up, we could see the talent that went into the artwork of this game. We love the style in which the characters are created, and we love how each one is so individual. We can definitely tell a lot of hard work was put into developing this game, and it does not disappoint.
This is our first review because we usually don’t like mobile games, as they are short and too simple to engage us. This game however is very engaging and no surprise it was originally released on handheld consoles. It is way better than all mobile games we’ve played, including those like infinity blade, monument, hitman go etc that are all very "mobile like". This one is much better in content and depth, and the only other game we play in parallel with this is Downwell.
This is one of the best 3D2D platformer games we have ever seen, runs very well, good story, good graphics, efficient gameplay, as well as the ability to customize visuals and difficulty makes for a great experience.
Steamworld Heist is a great game. We picked it up because we had played SW Dig and loved it. The gameplay is completely different, but if you played Dig you should have a good idea what to expect as far as lore. It takes place in a wild west type outer space universe (think Firefly). Heist is super polished and the art and animation are both dripping with flavor. Gameplay wise it’s like Worms but with large levels you can easily traverse. Controls are spot on and the game is easy to pick up (but not so easy to put down). We’ve only just beaten the first map, but it feels like the game should be pretty replayable. If you’re thinking about picking up the game – jump in head first, it’s worth every gallon (you’ll get it later).
This game is great. The bullet bouncing can lead to some cool shots and it is difficult to keep you interested, but not hard enough to make you rage. The bosses are cool and unique. There are tons of weapons and gear, and the graphics look really good. The price might seem a bit high, but IT IS WORTH IT! P.S. Go Seabrass!!!!!!
Solid, unique, and interesting game. Just what the App Store needed in a time full of rehashed / recycled game formats plagued with ridiculous IAP.
Worth every penny. Took us 12 hours to beat, and we enjoyed every second. Hilarious one-liners ought to keep you entertained, not to mention the unique gameplay which fits awesomely onto the iOS devices. The characters’ designs perfectly suit their personalities. This game is like nothing we’ve ever played before. We would love to play it all again, SO MAKE A SEQUEL!! PLEASE!!

Great game! Charming art and animations, challenging gameplay to overcome with team comp and strategy. 20hours and just started our first new game+ on harder difficulty.
Please port Steam World Dig for iOS. It is one of the greatest games of all time and having it with us make us feel comfortable.
We had recently watched Firefly when we came across this game, and as a Browncoat, we can say that it is well worth the buy. The story and graphics are great, and the characters are pretty good too. 5/5.

We’ve had an itch for a good turn-based strategy game and SW Heist gives that to us in spades. It satisfies the nostalgia for our 90s RPGs but is modern enough to keep us entertained. The pace is quick and the battles truly feel tactical (Ive had devastating losses because of poor aim). Sometimes the robots arms waving slightly as you aim is a bit of an annoyance, but it keeps us paying attention to each shot. Overall the game is excellent, Im just sad we may already be near the end of it. We hope they add an expansion or some kind of award tracking system to incentivize playing the game on the higher difficulties so we have a reason to keep coming back.
