You’re put into a combat arena with only a basic weapon and a clear goal: collect as many crates as you possibly can. The enemies will start coming soon, and they won’t ever stop. A steady supply of new weapons will be provided by the crates, but you can only hold one weapon at a time. Will the next weapon you find be better than the one you have, or worse? You may want to ride it out a little longer with a weapon you like, but your score won’t move if you don’t grab those crates. Super Crate Box seems like a straightforward action game, but having to adapt to your ever-changing offensive abilities means no two rounds are ever quite the same.
As you collect more crates round after round, you’ll unlock new weapons that will have a chance of appearing from then on. Do particularly well in a single round, and you might unlock a new character, arena, or gameplay mode. Each new thing you uncover adds another layer to the game, creating fresh challenges and situations. The enemies continue to get stronger and faster the longer you play, so even the best player will eventually meet their end. How many crates can you claim before then?

This used to be one of our favorite mobile games to play back in middle school. It recently popped back into our memory and we were excited to see it was on the App Store still. After downloading it and playing our trial, we have come to the decision to never play this again. What once was a fun game we could spend hours on has turned into garbage adware used to do nothing but push a subscription service. Not to mention the awful controls and constant pop ups that cover the arrows so you cant move and you die faster. Dont waste your time. Its not worth it.
We loved this game. Bought it years ago on an old ipod touch and was really disappointed when it was never updated for ios8 (i think), so we were really excited to see it back on the app store after all this time. However, this port is atrocious. Gameclub has ruined this game with distractions, bad UI, a truly egregious subscription fee, and meaningless objectives. How are you supposed to play the game when buttons are locked in a location where your thumbs physically block the screen? Why would we want to sit through literally minutes of meaningless pop ups and social features after death when it used to be an instant restart? How come without a $25 subscription fee Im subjected to both ads AND a 7 minute trial period? Fortunately this game should still be free on Steam, so while not portable, at least you can enjoy the game there.
We’ve had several high scores show up on the leaderboards as reduced or, even worse, fail to register at all. As an added bonus our profile seems to have disappeared. Wow.
Used to be one of our favorite iPhone games, usually couldnt go wrong with Vlambeer but now when we try to play this we get gameclub pushes and requests for our info. Terrible cant believe vlambeer let this happen.
The controller support is terrible, we cant use our analog stick for movement, up is jump for some reason and there are no control options to make this game everything it could be.
This game is great, we’ve been playing it since 2013 but it needs a bug fix. It has this glitch where if you click the left button it gets stuck stays moving you left. It has killed us a lot of times and gets pretty annoying. Also we feel like there should be an option to increase the button size for people with bigger fingers. Other than that the game is great and we enjoy it a lot still. Hopefully you guys get around to it.
We love this game and used to play it all the time on our iPod touch 2nd gen, so we were excited to see that it was back on the App Store. Unfortunately it doesnt work, crashing when we open it.
This game is free on steam for PC and we love the game to bits. One of the first steam games we got into but the fact that we have to pay for it on our phone is straight bull.
Thank you for the fast update that fixed our controls. We were struggling to hit the buttons because the screen was optimized for our larger screen. But now that they work The buttons are too small and close together. Our fat fingers keep making us jump and turn the wrong way. If you could add more customization to the controls that would be very helpful. And also nobody knows how to get all the secret characters so give us some hints.
This is an incredibly fun game, but the most recent update (3/4/2020) basically made the game unplayable for us. Prior to the update it ran perfectly fine on our iPhone 8 Plus, but now it freezes up every time we grab a weapon crate and sometimes it doesnt register when we press the jump button. As fast paced as the game is, these two bugs get us killed often and are frustrating enough that Im not playing it anymore. Hopefully another update can be issued soon that fixes these problems.
Need to transfer saves between devices.
The good: this game is awesome. Its fun and challenging. The bad: the latest update makes the game crash when choosing the 2nd or third level. This needs to be addressed because the later levels are unplayable. Nothing of value was added to the game once it went to Game Club. Achievements were removed and nothing was added. Same game from years ago. How about new content?
Thank you for reviving the gameone control issue is that when pressing the left buttonif you press a bit too leftit wouldn’t register at oncebut after a second or two the button displays pressedand the character starts to move. Other buttons does not seem to have this problem. Our device is iPhone 7 PlusiOS 13.2.2.
This was a wonderful premium game. The developers made all sort of promises about regular updates and then quickly abandoned the game. Even though it came out after the iPhone 5, they never bothered to support its resolution. Their last update note from 6 years ago been apologizes for the delay… Now the game has been resurrected as part of a subscription service. If you had bought the game back when it was premium, after wading through a bunch of pop ups, you can unlock the game for free. While the game does fill the screen of modern iPhones, unfortunately the buttons are very poorly placed and are not moveable.
This type of game is kin that you just can’t put down until you have the high score. In the first hour we were already at 114 creates on the first level (on normal of course)
The controls are a little difficult to use but don’t let that stop you from getting this masterpiece, totally addicting.
We love this game and have been waiting for iPhone 5 support so we can enjoy it to it’s full potential. Thank you for addressing it in the new updateI can’t wait for the support and to continue playing your awesome game.
We don’t know what these other people are talking about. Theres no doubt that the game could better use the new screen size, but to say its unplayable is a falsehood. This game is amazing. Fast-paced action coupled with great art and design. Perfect for short or long sessions.
Could you make the game screen smaller and have an arcade/joystick and button side and background? Our thumbs cover the bottom of the map and we cant see which side the boxes are on! Messes up our flow, but otherwise great addicting game.

This game is not a waste of mony this is a grate game please but this , this is grate.
Okay, we love the concept of this game. We love the art, we love the fact that we can even have this on our laptop. Here’s our problem: The controller needs to be optimized. We find myself constantly frustrated when we die after getting so close to unlocking something because the controller won’t register that we’ve pressed the jump or the fire button. This is a huge issue that needs to be resolved. We’re still giving this game 5 stars because it’s one of the first games we re-download every time we restore from iCloud. It’s fun and addictive.
First I’d like to say that this game is extremely addicting. The first day we got it (on computer) we played it for about 5 hours straight. However, we are on the 5s and whenever we hit one of the buttons (not sure if it’s A or B) and simultaneously accidentally touch the black bars (even slightly) the game pauses. This can be extremely annoying and happens to us all the time. We’re not sure if this is an intended feature that isn’t very useful or If it’s a bug. Please fix it, and thanks for the great game!!
This game is a perfect rendition of the pc version. The controls are easy once you get used to them. We play this on our iPhone 5 so don’t worry about those comments. The only suggestions we have is that they put the tutorial in this and another thing, is that you could choose multiple characters to rotate around instead of only being allowed to choose one or all of them rotating.
This game is one of the best. Don’t listen to these fools! Indeed, it may need and update and some bug fixes, but it is playable on iPhone 5 and it is a great game! Huge fan of vlambeer as well! Vlambeer, if you are reading this: great work, keep it up, get wasteland kings on iOS!
The buttons on the iPhone are really small to press. For example, if you wanted to jump and you tried to press the jump button, about 15% of the time it would shoot. This is especially frustrating when you have a high score. We would really like it if you guys made it so that you could adjust the button size. On the up side, the game is surprisingly addictive and fun for people who might like arcade and fast paced games.
We can’t believe how fun and simple and challenging this game is! Been playing for months. It’s amazing how great this developer is. No in app purchases or any other crap, just pay the cost and then that’s it! No ads, no nothing. Clean experience. Ridiculous fishing is a great game too. Vlambeer is the greatest developer we have seen. Keep bringing the great stuff guys!! Thank you so much.

Ok we are being serious there should be multiplayer and if you did that more people will buy this game. So for the creator, figure out how to make multiplayer and please make it. This game is fun but not the best. So if you can add multiplayer it will be the best!

We have been playing this game for years now and still love it. It’s hard as balls which makes it all the more satisfying when you actually accomplish something. The controls are super tight. When you die, it’s your fault, which is perfect. It’s an honest platformer. You can only blame yourself. A refresh for bigger screens would be a welcome update that might also introduce an entirely new audience to the game. THANK YOU VLAMBEER!! You have somehow turned rage into happiness and we are forever grateful.

We got the game on our iPod touch quite a while back, and we forgot about it. It is a great game and all, but we have since gotten an iphone 5, and we have too much trouble with the controls. This was by far our favorite game and i’d be willing to pay money for an update! Thanks.

Please, please, pleeeease update SCB to play well with the iPhone 5 gen! It’s utterly unplayable, pausing any time we try to change direction. Also, the controls are now too far away from the edge; reaching so far toward the center of the screen is really tiring and unintuitive. Please update, so that we may finally find those darn golden crates needed for the… Other update! Thanks!
