Updated on 10th May 2018

This app has been updated by Apple to display the Apple Watch app icon.

3.0.2: Minor patch for 3.0.

3.0: Welcome to Super Hexagon 3.0! This new version supports iPhoneX, brings 120 FPS support to ProMotion enabled iPads (iPad Pro 2017+), and supports iOS 11.3. This is all possible thanks to our new GLKit renderer, which should also bring faster performance and increased battery life to all devices!

In addition, you can now also play the game on iPad Pro smart keyboards (as well as the existing support for MFI controllers.)

Thank you so much for playing Super Hexagon. I hope you enjoy the update!

Super Hexagon Reviews

This game is the definition of challenging! The controls are simple and very responsive! The music if probably one of if not the best part of this. The gameplay is excruciatingly difficult (what do you expect?) Overall an amazing classic iOS game!! Good job Terry!

We love games you can play into infinity and believe us its challenging and absolutely amazing. Definitely worth the $3.

We own this on everything we can have it on great game for burning time while doing something else.

Simple to pick up and learn, but our god is this game hard. Its really hard to keep your bearings on this sensory feast of a game, with the music blasting and the lights flashing and all. Just keep at it, youll get there soon enough.

Had this game for years. Still the best phone game we’ve ever had. So agitating, yet addictive. Perfect for killing time.

We’ve been playing this rage and reaction time trainer for years, and its still easily the best way to kill a few minutes while waiting for your bus stop on the App Store. Bar. None. We love this game, and hope it will get a sequel or remaster eventually to take full advantage of newer hardware.

Most of the low star ratings say that the games controls are bad, the game over voice is annoying, or its too hard. We really like the controls, but it gets a while to get used to. A part of the challenge is always knowing where the pointer is, and inverting your brain to adapt when the pointer switches sides. The ladies voice also isnt annoying, and shouldnt hold you back from getting the game. We feel like we dont even hear the voice of the game over scene, because we restart the game so quickly and get absorbed once again. And for those who think the game is too hard, thats kind of the point. The game seems really fast, confusing, and unintuitive, but the point is to adapt to it. There really are no other games like this one. If you dont like repetition and practice, the you probably wont enjoy the game. Even then, we thought we didnt like that either but we beat every difficulty on this. Dont want to be the guy who says get good, but thats the only fun youll have with this game.

Srssly, this may be the best arcade game of all time. It’s the pure distilled essence of the arcade, presented in wild modern glory.

This game is objectively perfect. Im not saying this is the best, or even our favorite game, but for what this game needs to do, it excels masterfully in every way it needs to, and is therefore perfect. 1. No ads, you get right back in. This app isn’t freemium like the other 99% of games are, so once you die, all you have to do is tap the screen. This is also what makes the game not frusturating in the slightest. 2. ACTUALLY FUN, AND ADDICTIVE GAMEPLAY. Thats a breakthrough isnt it? Good gameplay on a mobile game? We wish we wasn’t being sarcastic. :( This the perfect game. Its 150% worth the money, buy it now.

We really like this game but we think it would be cool if you made its so we can play third Version of each levels.

The controls make you go too right or left and you fail.

We Beat Each Level!!! In 1 Session!!! The 1st Time we Beat A Level Was Hexagoner. But Can You Nerf The Hyper Mode Levels?

We wanted a game that was actually challenging and not just mindless clicking and this is definitely challenging.

The game is fun as hell and probably one of the only mobile games that we do not regret buying however the music isnt for us and we know that the music itself is a key element in the game but we would like to have chill session sometimes and be able to listen to our own music. And being able to link with steam would be nice.

This game is completely fun and addictive in our opinion. We play this game everyday. Its really fun to play, even though we already beat the game, we still enjoy playing it.

Best game to play in free time.

Had this game since 2012 and its nice to see that its gotten support for new devices ever since. We really recommend this game if you like to be challenged, and if you want to work on your reflexes and ability to concentrate. One minor complaint is that depending on your sound output, the second stage can have some distorted bass at a certain point.

Amazing game with infinite replay ability. The only flaw is that sometimes the high score does not get updated in the menu.

Thank you for such a wonderful game. We bought this game 5 years ago and finally beat it today! We have never been into a game for so long. The final clip and the feels after finally beating this game are extremely satisfying! Thanks again for always shining our days :).

We’ve never felt such hatred towards the number 59 in our life.

Tbh we are not a big gamer. We used to be, back in the day, but family and work takes our time now. Super Hexagon is legitimately the only game we play anymore because its fun, simple, and games rarely last longer than 90 seconds (usually considerably less). Perfect. Also has terrifically addictive mechanics and a simple premise.

This is one of the few modern app stores games that isnt filled with micro transactions or junk. Just pure skill and a unique concept.

Super hexagon is one of the most challenging game we’ve ever played it requires ur quick brain in order to think how to dodge that wall for us the more u play it the more u get improved when we were grade 4 we almost finished it like 52 secs.

Thank you for fixing the screen size problem!! You guys are the best!

This is legitimately one of the best games we’ve ever played. We have logged tens of thousands of hours across various platforms, and while Super Hexagon is not our absolute favorite or even our go-to these days, we still maintain this is the absolute peak of the 5 minutes early for work zen game. Nothing even compares. Its situational, yes, but it truly excels when it counts.

Currently, we cannot see a way to exit a level while playing it to play another level. If this isn’t added, it really should be!

Im so upset we love this game and yet the great music is not there.

Ninety-nine percent of iOS games are abysmal, but there’re a few that shine through. We’ve traditionally held exactly three in that regard: Threes!, VVVVVV, and Super Hexagon, and also secondarily osu! Stream. What makes this so great? Well, as long as you can put up with the difficulty for the first week or so, it’s a wonderful game to pass the time and to forever want to improve at: no ads, no IAPs, no nothing, just the six levels and your high scores on them. Why’s it so hard? Because the game’s creator designs things to feel good to him, and he has claimed that he "has the attention span of a four-year-old" who doesn’t like waiting for things to happen. (VVVVVV has no cutscenes longer than c. 30 seconds if you mash through the text.) Why did we dock a star then? So as to not look too flattering on this as to get ignored; it’s totally not because it’s possible to be so good at the game as to get banned off the leaderboards. (My 815:07 has video proof.)

Always loved the game, just need the sound back!

Fun concept and great music but the controls to us are annoying, Ill get used to it.

And Hardestestester. Mastered the toughest level long agon and wishing we still had a challenge or two. Game is remarkable, just needs some harder levels. New players need not worry by this review. It’ll take you a whole lot of time and effort to master every level as it is now.

This is a cool game and all but it be great if we could listen to music while playing. If yall could change that it be awesome.

The game is truly great very minimal, and extremely simple to learn. It is a true challenge to get good at. We love the soundtrack to the game we really do, it fits the style beautifully but our game produces no sound at all. We’ve tried re-downloading the game a couple of time but still nothing, without the glorious soundtrack and sound FX the game feels very (VERY) hollow and exceptionally unsatisfying to play. For that reason we cannot give it 5 stars Im truly hard pressed to give it 4, the only reason we do is because we know how good it can be. Our experience though has been less than stellar.

For once, not a rip-off. We are struggling on hexagoner because of the fast move to this that this that rotation, its HARD. But to be honest we dont know why hyper hexagonest is easy… Anyways this game, Is Hexagon out of Hexagon. *Yes we HAD to make a pun.

We absolutely love this game. The controls are great, its very challenging, and beating your high score is ridiculously satisfying. However, we got 46 seconds, and it says our best time is 22. We keep beating our high score, but it never saves, which frustrates us. Please fix this and we would change to 5 stars.

So as to not look too flattering on this as to get ignored; it’s totally not because of a glitch related to high scores with which we have an easy time putting up when we only beat one high score every few days now. TL;DR I, meta04 (a purple icon in the top 15 of all six leaderboards, 4th place on Hexagon), think this couldn’t be much better than it is.

Constant frame drops/stutters and bad input lag make this games last level unfairly difficult. For some reason it gets worse the longer we play it. It isnt overheating. Also, game only occasionally records your high scores between game launches. We’ve beat the game and have all achievements but only a 13 second record on Hyper hexagonest?

Just downloaded, as we own the game on other platforms, but unfortunately the music no longer works.

This new GL renderer has been causing noticeable frame rate variation on our iPhone 7 Plus. Game itself is amazing but its really hard to play like this. We’ve tried killing all other open apps, rebooting phone entirely, and disabling the 120fps thing and its definitely not working for us. Sometimes it works fine, which we know because we can easily get over 60s but when its in stutter mode we have a hell of a time getting past 15-20s because your little character no longer moves at a constant rate so if you have a slow-down or speed-up while hes moving he generally ends up going too far or not far enough before you can adjust.

We finished hexagonest hyper mode and got a score of 65:01 sec and then we returned hours later and it says 60:01 secs like wth dude that took so much time.

So we didnt mean to buy this since we already have it on our other phone but now we cant refund and we bought this like 3 minutes ago. Please help, we were trying to buy ultimate custom night.

Oh rly? We think Smash Hit is better than this crud, the music hurts our ears.

Its ok but definitely not worth spending money on.

Constant frame drops/stutters and bad input lag make this games last level literally impossible. For some reason it gets worse the longer we play it. It isnt overheating.
