Community Insight:
Im not very good at the game but we enjoy playing it.
We get kicked out of our games but when it runs smoothly its fun. The game doesnt recognize Kong followed by self draw which is usually a big win. We wish we could change the order of the tiles on our own.
Brain simulation especially when you have 5 sec to discard a tile, pong or chow especially tiles are not collated. However we found a programming flaw in the world challenge section when in India. The bar that gives you the option to pong, kong, chow or X do not respond. Therefore, unable to progress beyond world challenge x200 beyond india.
It says you can play with friends but you can't.
We haven't played in awhile, but now when we try to launch the app it crashes after a quick flash.
Graphics nicely done. Smooth gaming. Wished it had a way to play against 3 other opponents of your choice. We have friends who also own iPad and would be nice to challenge them in a game even if we are not in the same place. Recommended game to play though. It saves your place if you quit and need to do something else. update 4/7 app crashes now, not sure how long this has been on going but haven't played this app for a long time.
The only real mahjong (not matching solitaire game) with the numbers on the character blocks. Love it! There is a similar version on Xbox live.
Great game for seniors to kill times.
Would have given it 5 stars if the sign in process was smoother.
We finally found a game to let us play mahjong without needing to e online. The only thing is we're new and we wish we could just play without the timing aspect. We've screwed up several game just because we're not good enough to go that fast.
Fun game! Not the solitaire type, real mahjong.
Great fun! Not so easy that it becomes boring, not so hard that it's unattainable. Just the right level of excitement and fun. Love the players' reactions! Ha ha.
It's a fun game, we love it. Still has bugs need to be fixed.
True majiang, multiple levels to build your skills in and challenge yourself. A great game. The drawbacks are minuscule. The only things we'd like to see is 1) that a Chi or Peng that you've been offered doesn't get yanked in a fraction of a second when another player has a chi or peng – this looks like a technical problem, and 2) we'd like to see an explanation of the betting.
Beware! This game is addicting.
Love the latest version, more audio/conversation in the future please.
Good game. Will get one one more star if it has multi-player.
Local multiplayer or pass and play would make this a five star game. Good english subtitles.
Nice game, we enjoy playing it. :).
…a mahjong game we can play, since we sure don't like the match-the-tile "mahjong.".
This is a good example of Taiwanese Mahjong who's biggest unique characteristics for us are the 16 tile hands and the progressive scoring bonus for winning consecutively as the dealer. We're enjoying the game so far and even though all of the screenshots are in Chinese, it does play nicely in English (comeplete with a Wesernized tile set) with very few examples of weak translations as is often the case of a game catering primarily to an Asian audience. It was free but we have to imagine there eventually will be some sort of IAP offered to unlock the rest (but we haven't gotten that far yet). We think our only whine at this point is that while we appreciate it throwing in some twists with each city, we hope they don't use timed turns in all of them. The second stage, Seoul, only allows you 8 seconds to make your moves and we're afriad it might only get shorter as the game continues which, to us, is a weak way to make the AI appear more challenging. We do, however, love the game's very detailed statistics separate for each City (even tracking which specialty hands you've achieved per city) and stuff like your quickest number of turns in a hand to achieve a Mahjong.
The challenges are ridiculous and silly. Why can't it be a normal MJ game with normal rules.
This is a solid mahjong game for people who want to learn Taiwanese mahjong or just want to get a fix, but two things would make this a five star game: 1. Easy: Easier, better tile discard mechanic 2. Hard: Online or local multiplayer.
Quite a good single player game, a good learning tool with nice graphics, straight forward interface and guide. English and Chinese. A problem we can see like many other games is that they reset the audio, so if you are listening to music on your iPad, the game will turn of the music, so you can not play and listen to you fav redio of mp3.
Finally something decent. Very nicely done, the only suggestions is can we have voice? That will make it more exciting.
It is a very challenging game. When you are time challenged, it can be very east to throw away the wrong tile so we wish there is an undo feature. As you think ahead upon a chow or a pung, the tiles shift but your finger taps where you remember the throw away tile is, and the wrong tile gets thrown out. That's aggravating! Other than that, the game is great.
Been waiting for this game in iPad 2 version pretty good and you can set it in either english or mandarin version with sound too…cool.
We're glad there's finally a decent Mahjong game for the iPad! Despite the images and description, rest assured that there is a setting for English speakers. The instructions are clear. Our only comment is that it is easy to select the wrong tile to throw out sometimes… Also there are cases when we want to chow and the computer isn't letting us, but that may be us not reading the rules completely.
