This is our first review but we had to write this even if no one sees it. This game is the best thing ever. We first started in 5th grade when a friend recommended it. We had never played any other romance games and was a bit weary about getting it but this is one of the best game we’ve ever had the joy of playing. We’ve gotten all the endings in our years and years of playing on and off. The story is very satisfying and you can throughly enjoy it even if you arent a huge romance fan. Our favorite part is you dont have to pay to play like a lot of other games. The stay and art are top notch and we would recommend it to anyone. You can chose your name and pronouns and can change them as you please. Even as a 10th grader we still enjoy this game a lot. 10/10 please play :))
We absolutely fell head over heels for this game! So much so that we played every route twice and our favorites more than that. Sadly though, we think there are no more updates to the stories. So once you finish the series its heartbreaking to put away. We no longer have this app on our phone but we highly recommend anyone to check it out. The story is deep, disturbing, light at the same time, exciting, and romantic. The graphics and artwork are beautiful as well. The only thing is that you have to wait for keys to read and it takes time to earn coins, unless you want to support the creators and buy them! Anyways thanks Nix Hydra for this awesome series, its a gift to readers who love great fantasy novels.

This game used to be really fun. After they sold it to Dorian it’s basically an ad for their other app, with no new features whatsoever. We still love the game as it is, but new features would be great. And maybe a little less pushing for downloading Dorian?
Developer removes reviews that are at all critical of the way they manage content. When we posted our initial review a few days ago there were tons of newer reviews complaining about the many popup ads and lack of new content on the main app and all but a couple are now gone. MY review is gone as well. People downloading for the first time deserve to know that there will be NO NEW CONTENT added to this app. You will have to download a second app thats essentially a social media experience (cosplayers, fanfiction) if you want anything after you finish with the main storyline. If thats not your cup of tea, dont bother. Devs can delete this if they want; Im keeping it in a notepad for easy copy/paste any time we notice its gone.
This NEEDS a sequel we STRIVE for more. The game has they/them pronouns options which is way more than 90% of romance games have considering they cater to mostly afab (assigned female at birth) folx and just all around those with she/her pronouns. So already really great there, but you also get some amazing angst! Due to this you have to do all of their routes to really get the full story and uncover the mystery. Our advice is that you should play Asras LAST otherwise youll be devastated. This is a really good game for those who want a gender, sexuality, race, and culturally diverse romance game that doesnt prioritize the diversity over the actual storyline. It does get a little annoying when you run out of keys by they thankfully replenish fairly quickly and infinikey weekends are like the best thing ever. Getting coins can be a bit of a pain in the but especially when the options you want to choose cost more than you have but thankfully you can still get the final ending you want without paying any. All in all an amazing game Im super addicted to all of the fluff angst and borderline steamy moments. PS. You wont like Lucio but once you play his route you might hate him a tad bit less. We’ve been playing this game for years now. Its improved so much over time and we absolutely adore it. Its literally SO addictive too. Even once you play through all the stories, theyre so good, and theres other options, you can keep playing them over and over again. Seriously awesome. Adore these characters too.
This game is absolutely amazing! The art is gorgeous and we could listen to the music for hours! Its also very LGBT+ friendly! Ex: You can pick your pronouns and adjust them at any time for all you other genderfluid peeps! The plot and characters are intricate and well developed and the dialogue flows really smoothly. We’ve only finished 1 path so far, but this game is already our favorite.
This is a great game, love graphics and Characters. Its fun to play and can get very addictive. Would recommend!

We’ve had this game for awhile now since 2018 time and we love fell in on first sight. But there is just one problem we wish it could have more tales even though the main stories have ended would love more to still enjoy the og storyline and og artstyle.
We would love to give this game a five star review but in this type of game we need to make an avatar!!!!! Im not saying add it into the story, just on the home page, have a page where you can see how you look in this world of Vesuvia. Please your art is beautiful and we want to see our oc in your style!!! Add lots of character creation items and we swear it will bring this to a whole new level. Or make a full body Picrew. A lot of other players we know are wishing for this add on aswell and dont make any of the character creation if you do make it cost coins just drains the fun. Also please add a new female option we love Portia and Nadia so much.
Love this game, very immersive and beautiful art. Its better than pretty much all the other story choice games out there. Yes, there are still adds/inn-app purchase features that can be seen as slightly annoying, but even if you have no fake currency the game play is still incredible and you dont miss out on too much. It does prevent you from moving through stories too fast with keys and either having to buy them or wait, but this isnt much of an issue seeing as you can still do a lot before you have to wait. Also, it takes us a long time to even have to use a key seeing as Im very indecisive (lol), so if youre like us, its not at all an issue. Love love this game <33.
We first played this game a long time ago, but had to delete it for storage. But earlier this year we couldnt stop thinking about it, so we re-downloaded it. After years of not having it and not playing it we could still remember the ending we first got (the only one, up until now) Julians upright ending. We love the art and everything about this game! It may be a bit difficult to get coins without paying for them, but at one point we had so many more coins than we thought we did. We were so caught up with trying to get enough coins for two payed scenes that we had gotten more than enough. This game is definitely something you should play if you are looking for amazing art, romance, and a great plot line and little extra side scenes! We really suggest.

We really love the character designs as well as the story and the personalitys of the characters. The art amazes us too. We dont have any complaints other than our lack of coins. We really like Asra too <33.
The opening chapters to the story are gone and it almost feels like it was done on purpose. They disappeared just as most of the stories and experiences moved to Dorian. We tried the Dorian app out and really disliked the user experience and the story quality. So we rely a lot on being able to reread the storylines we like. But not being able to go back to beginning has been pretty irritating. There have been a few updates since the issue and it didnt fix it so we’ve largely given up hope.
Dorian has ruined the arcana and fictif.
We understand the overall character routes, though we feel like Valuris should get his own route, our friend and we both agree hed be a great addition to the story line and may even have more information on Lucio and other characters, we really enjoy this game and cant wait to see the future updates.
We love this game soo much, we love the characters as well. We saved up on coins so hopefully we can buy the stories and not use keys . But also, please try to chillax on the Dorian ads.
This game broke us, one of our all time favorites but Ill also never recover we went with Asra and (spoilers) we felt too attached and guilty to go any other route ITS SO GOOD BUT MY GOD DOES IT MAKE ME SAD, its not just a dating simulator!! It has so much story and no matter who you play Im sure itll be a great experience. The one flaw is PLEASE FIX YOUR ADS ON TIKTOK. Do not ruin the experience with those ads.
Hello! We believe that this is a great game with an immersive story, we became an addict to it the second we got on it. One problem though, the coins are HEAVILY overpriced An average response to buy is about 150-200 coins, and for 1.99 you get 150. We believe either making the responses cost less coins or the coins cost less money would help greatly!
The app is perfect except for the promotional popups about dorian, which we dont want to see over and over. For example the current one is julian, juliana, and free rewards. We get why these pop ups are there, but we wish there was an option to select dont show again after we’ve seen it once. If we dont check out the dorian event after the first pop up, then we dont care about that particular cosplayer or fan made game and probably never will. The community tab is enough. This nuisance makes us not want to open the app. We would definitely change our rating to five stars if there was a dont show again option. Thanks.
Its art is beautiful! But its really painful to get through the stories, either due to time, writing, or lack of in game currency. Everything is so expensive, if you want to get through every route and dont want to wait for forever, it will take hundreds of dollars into the game. Its tempting (Im glad we dont have any extra money to spend), its not worth it in the end. We really enjoyed the art, but thats about it other than some aspects of the stories that we managed to get through or start. We only recently discovered this game a couple of months ago so we dont know what it was like with NYX Hydra, but it seems to have gotten worse and more of a cash grab, the devs seem to be shady(?). You can find posts on reddit discussing the issues theyre seeing with the game, we would encourage anyone interested to seek those out.

A beautifully crafted game with wonderful art. Edited: this really is an app where its best to keep it for a while! Had it for a few weeks and im through with most arcs (very impatient), but theres still stuff to do. Coins were annoying at first, but honestly thats just (again) our impatience with them adding up on top of impulsivity with spending them pretty quick. Any and all complaints we had were answered quickly and politely, and the creators support of fans is very nice.
Hello! Dorian, we love your app so so much it makes us want to be apart of your community we love the characters, but one thing how long did it take to make this game like coding, Art, backgrounds. Our issue with the ads was back to normal today Im getting coins again, yay really cool that you guys reply so soon.
Honestly ever since we started playing this game it has been life changing. But recently when we would click on the ads for free coins, it wouldn’t give us our reward. Even after refreshing the app multiple times and even deleting it and re downloading this was still an issue. We have no idea if this is just on our phone, but overall, this game is incredible and unlike any other otome game we’ve ever played, besides the really expensive choices which can’t be helped. Good day.
We genuinely really love this game after just playing it for 2 days. The artwork and story are just beautiful and so thoughtfully crafted. We love the characters and how all the stories are connected together, it’s rare to see such stunning mobile games. However, it does feel slightly pay-to-play. We probably purchased around 2K gold and we were only able to get through half a story with it. We do wish there were ways to receive more gold, but we think the best thing would be to lower the prices of story options. It costs at least 150-250 for the average answer, and the ratio for the gold you earn daily to the price of answers is really unbalanced. Regardless, we still love the game! Wonderful work to all the devs :)
This is honestly one of the best choose your own adventure games we’ve ever had the pleasure of playing. You can actually complete the story without having to spend actual money to effect the outcome and if you choose to it only adds to it (theres in game currency you can use to unlock various bits, but they only add to the story instead of detracting from it like others do) 10/10 game. Wonderful art, story and writing.
An incredibly well thought-out story with unique characters, engaging art, and a score that is out of this world. We highly recommend trying every route and side story as Nyx Hydra has worked an absolute wonder here. That being said, any content added by Dorian after they took ownership is going to be an utter disappointment as well as a waste of your time. All the magicand the wordplay here is very much intendedis completely gone. We miss Nyx Hydra.
More ad opportunities please!!! And itd be nice to be able to earn keys as well.
The game is good but if you want to unlock special scenes you either have to pay money or log in and play mini games everyday to earn coins which takes a lot of time.
No complaints except we cant get anymore keys.
We absolutely love the story and art style of the game. We think its really unique and stands out from other interactive stories on this app. But our only problem is the coins. We just wish we could get coins more often by like watching ads or for us to get more ways of getting ads. We tried the event but personally it just wasnt for us. We did all of our daily tasks in the game today and only got 10 coins. Ill probably just lose interest in the game with having to wait serval days just to get enough coins for one special question.
We love this game we played when it came out and now. We only have 2 issues. 1. The are always new updates, every 3 days, we just want to play really quick a hunter. 2. The amount of coins you get for free is disrespectfully low. The cheapest option are 125. We would love to pay for a few coins but not spend over 100 dollars on a game that wont even give us 100 coins for free. The free coin system is not that good.
We just got The Arcana about a week ago and Im really enjoying it. Great story and great characters. We do wish that there was more of a challenge with winning characters over and that the characters didnt just automatically like the main character but thats just a personal preference. Its a good game. We think there might be a bug with Community Event rewards though. We’ve completed enough things to get 100 more coins through Dorian but we havent gotten anything in our Dorian inbox about it though. Its been over 24 hours so we shouldve gotten something by now. Im really wanting more Arcana coins so if that could be fixed, it would be much appreciated.
We just started this game a few days ago, and we absolutely love the art style and the intricacy of the game. The lord feels very complex and thought out, and we cant wait to learn more. Personally we have been finding it hard to progress because getting coins is so difficult. There are no activities in the dailies tab that give you coins other than the wheel which isnt even guaranteed. And you can only watch ads 3 times within 24 hours, which is only 30 coins. The amount of time and effort it takes to get coins is not equal to the price of special scenarios and it makes progressing the game in a personalized way very hard for us. Admittedly we have a short attention span but when we cant progress in games without spending money we quickly lose interest. We wish there were easier ways to get coins daily so we dont have to be stuck on one chapter until we have enough coins to make the choice we want.
This game used to be such a good escape from the stresses of everyday life, with well written stories, vibrant characters, and a rich world. But after the main six love interest storylines were completed, the overall game stagnated. Dorians emphasis has never been on developing the game itself, but rather on featuring fan-created content and essentially trying to force you to download the Dorian app. Theres nothing wrong with fans creating their own content, but to pass it off as canonical is insulting to the original creators. Its like shoving fanfiction into the middle of The Hobbit and trying to claim Tolkien wrote it himself. Thats how you destroy a really good app and a really good game. If Dorian focused more on doing their jobs as devs and actually developed the game, we would be a lot more invested. We started playing in early 2020, but now, we dont know why we even still have it on our phone.
It would be better if it had daily coin rewards and a better change of getting 10000 coins on the wheel.
We would like to get to romance with Valerius. Or you could say get to know him. We think having him as a option would be good because in the storys that you play he occurs in a lot of them. Also we cant really tell if he is a bad or good guy. So over all we think you should give more information about him and also make a story about him! -thanks for reading.
Im super surprised that this game is free because we’ve been playing it and it runs smoothly. The plot is so good and once youve finished every route, you see the whole picture. All of the chat are so amazing and we like the fact that the theme of game changes in each route that you take. Ex. Asras route is much more relaxed than Julians or Lucios.
Im being so fr with you we are obsessed with jullian and Muriel bro we SPENT 20+ DOLLARS ON JULLIAND ROUTE ALONE IF YOU GET THIS GAME BE PREPARED TO GO BROKE BUT IT WAS SO WORTH IT.
Honestly the app is great, art is stunning and so is the storylines with each character. But the coin system is just ridiculous. Along with the prices of coins. For each option to flirt a bit with a character is 225-150 coins. Which is alot and with the start of coins 100-250,300. Isnt to much. It only allows the reader/player to choose one. And make it wise. The dailies are annoying as well just to get a read those are all expensive.. Which leaves 2 options heart hunting and wheel of fortune. The heart hunting doesnt give u much especially with limited lives, and with the heart of fortune the chances of getting coins are quite low. Very low. And the PRICES for these coins are HORRENDOUS. Some are understandable but the 100$ one is horrific. In our opinion, Id make it worth the money.. Only 11k coins could be gone within a day or two. Which Is honestly sad. Because it wont allow players to enhance the relationship and just go nowhere. Choosing boring answers that u dont wannna choose. Or its just not it? So why pay 200 sum dollars just to talk to 1 guy/girl.. Its crazy.
Ok so we’ve been playing the game for so long and its the epitome of our ideal esthetic, all the characters are extremely lovable, and everything is much more diverse then in other roll play games. The only thing is we wish you guys would right a consistent continuation for each character instead of the shorter stories. Dont get us wrong we love those stories too, it would just pull us in more and in bring other people to the app if there was more main story to read. If you build off of the upright endings it could start with all of the characters and the mc doing whatever theyre doing. Some big event happens that they need to help fix, and along the way they meet back up with the other characters. We know thats a bottom base but we think its pretty cool! Idk, do you guys think youd ever build of the original story like that????
We love this game. We’ve been playing it since before covid. We were a minor when we first started playing it. The only problem is, ever since it was bought out by a new company, we havent been able to recommend it to anyone in good faith. They have abandoned this app, all the new content is on Dorian (the app named after their company, real original). The problem with Dorian is not only do the new stories and old ones they ported over not have any music like the original (maybe theyre supposed to, but it doesnt work), the sprites also clip halfway off the screen. As someone whos studying computer science, the functionality of their app scares us, and we’ve never even seen the code. We do highly recommend the arcana (love the story and the characters), but we could not write this review without addressing the elephant in the room. The good news is, if enough ppl are into the arcana, Dorian wont delete the arcana and move over to the Dorian app. If the arcana was solely on Dorian and this app were deleted, we would lose the songs, the mini games, the intended order of chapters would be ruined, its likely the stories upright and reversed endings would be ruined too (the arcana remembers what choices you pick for each route and use that to determine if youll receive a good or bad ending. In our experience with Dorian, the good/bad ending function is completely random, also Dorian games arent big enough to support a characters entire story, so it would have no way of tracking your previous choices), there are some side stories/art that could be lost, the menus and character information would be lost, all the coins people have been earning and paying for for years now, and maybe more that we cant think of. At this point, Im just hoping the fandom can get big enough that theyll maybe start to listen to us, seeing as were the ones filling their pockets. All that being said, the arcana is definitely 13+, each character has their own way of showing affection, and the story is rich with twists. Definitely try it out if it catches your eye. Our partner introduced us to this game so we have her to thank for this wonderful experience we’ve had today with this game. First of all we absolutely love how you can choose your pronouns and how there isnt only male or only female characters to get romantic with. Instead you get to get romantic with male and female characters. Aside from that we also really love the choose your own adventure gameplay. It makes the game so much more fun when you get to choose what you do instead of the game making you do something that you dont want to have happen. Thats about all we have to say!
