They Should Make This Game Available On The Normal App

  • I’ve been playing this game and 20 hours in. It’s such an absolutely phenomenal and beautiful game. I love the soundtrack and the atmosphere of the game. There seems to be an underlying lottery-algorithm mechanic that keeps you running scarce on supplies. The game won’t hesitate to take what’s sacred from you and rob you of your party members when you least expect it. A few tips that work for me is to manage your wagon size from the beginning. Too large of a wagon means more to repair and it’s harder to make the river crossings. The game will keep your supplies low so the wagon will be empty most of the time towards the end. I seem to have more luck with the smaller wagon. Clothes and bullets are your most important resource. You have to keep the hygiene up to avoid illness and you need the bullets as both currency and to get food on the road. Try to avoid stockpiling too much, because it will go to waste from the game mechanics. Diversify your stockpile. A farmer will keep your oxen going, because that’s an essential skill to detect colic and fix the hooves when they have issues. An Adventurer will have good way-faring skills, which is essential for detecting food and medicine on the road. A banker will have wit to make deals, (missionaries are good at this also) and it seems that the kind people will have medical skills?
This game will mess with your emotions though. I almost made it to Oregon with a sole survivor and I was on the last leg before Oregon city, the wagon was broken down, no food, no bullets, no clothes, broken leg, and I almost made it and the game killed her off 20 miles from the finish line. :( Good luck.

  • I just got this game I am so excited

  • people walked outside the wagon because 1 the wagons were mostly fully full and 2 because the road would be too bumpy to be sitting comfortable

take a look at the documentary; the oregon trail and you will understand the game much better

These comments might offer the help you need to breeze through each level.

Efe Keklikoğlu: only 1 minute later game started
david has a broken leg

retro Gaming: The game needs deep thinking and patience. I love it

Johnny: I remember playing this game when I was younger I’m so glad they brought it back

chir sal: TIPS:
wagon grease is VERY WORTH IT. get as much as you can.

the wind wagon may not seem as good given that you dont have oxen(portable emergency food) but besides the low amount of storage it’s huge advantage is that you can’t be abandoned by oxen and you dont need to deal with oxen exhaustion, which can cost you food from time to time.
(complete peppard’s folly by getting him investors for this)

MEAT! hunt when you can and save money to buy if the fur trapper event happens(you can buy alot of meat)
meat takes up less space and literally heals your morale. if you eat only meat, the whole morale issue is fixed.

Fish! fish whenever you can. you can sell the fish for 1$ per pound and 2$ per pound if you can haggle (wit is important)

if you have high energy and can haggle you can easily make well over 200$ with ONE fishing trip. it’s insane. you can start with a cheap wind wagon and literally just save up for a conestoga wagon.

also more fishing- fishing is FAR easier than hunting, gives just as much food and is less expensive. you might find the HE-DOW event that will literally give you free fish and fishing equipment.

I absolutely destroyed oregon or bust which is supposed to be the hardest by using wagon grease and the wind wagon to limit any bad events (oxen hexhaustion and wagon wear) alongwith making sure to have a physician at hand to heal any injuries.

ALSO, keep 10 pelts for river crossings. one bad river crossing can put you in a grim situation. you can easily increase your crossing chances by always taking the ferry, resting, and using pelts to make the chances of anything bad happening very, very low

FINALLY, try to complete bitter winter for a knife. i’m pretty sure if you’ve played this that you’ve noticed a knife would be useful. if you have trouble with one of the other trails or this, just only try to save one person to help with rationing/etc. this should give you an easier time albeit a much lower amount of xp/etc

Eli Christenson: Could not have pronounced Oregon more incorrectly 😂

Nelia Ironwood: There was an original Gameloft Oregon Trail which had more cartoony graphics and was completely different from this game. Unlike other revivals like World of Demons, this one is completely unrelated to the original, which had been delisted already from the App Store.

Avarosa: Part 2 please :)

CalPal99: Great modernization of this iconic game.

Psi Plasma: phenomenal game

irubberyouglueonethousand: This is the most advanced RPG version of Oregon Trail ever. This is awesome!

cris 14: The reason they mostly didn’t ride their wagons was that the wagons were usually already filled to the brim with their belongings and it wasn’t a good idea to overload the wagons even more, and the other and most common reason is it was very uncomfortable, you have to understand these wagons had no suspension of any kind and it had wooden wheels.

Dragon maid: Lol the choices of the travellers perplexing the players

Cipher Klosenuf: Oregon…pronounced “Or uh gun”. As in, “Do you want to die from cholera …Or a gun?”
I’m from the Pacific Northwest.

oddron 86: Is this only available on apple products?

The Carrieshot: prefer the older game released on ios in the early 2010s. I wish my gen 2 would work still

Robert Miller: 0:40 is the music timestamp we’re all here for. unfortunately the person talks. Lol
