What Makes Tormentum – Mystery Adventure Stand Out
A nameless hero finds himself in a place between fantasy and nightmare. He doesn't remember his name nor where he comes from. Wandering through strange lands, he struggles to discover the truth about the world around him, as well as about himself.
The dreamlike, nightmarish atmosphere of the game was inspired by the works of painters H.R. Giger and Zdzisław Beksiński. The game's final look and feel was also strongly influenced by the universes of games such as Demon's Souls or Dark Seed. This unique mixture gave life to a bleak and depressing world.
The story begins as the protagonist wakes up locked in a metal cage hanging below a large flying machine. It becomes clear he is its passenger against his will and the machine's destination is unknown. The only vague memory he can summon in his mind is that of a sculpture atop a hill, depicting human hands reaching towards the sky.
Those are, however, the least of his problems as the airship descends its flight towards a huge, gloomy castle which soon becomes his prison. Thus begins the surreal story bordering somewhere between dream and reality…

We love the art and graphics, the plot is interesting but not too long and complex. Just the right amount of challenge. One of our favorites in the p&c genre.
Absolutely incredible game. The graphics, the story, the actions!! There are no hints, but dont give up. And choose wisely, your fate depends on it.
Gorgeous gothic-surrealist art, reminiscent of H.R. Giger and Zdzislaw Beksinski. This is really a cut above most point-and-click puzzle games. Very dark, compelling, disturbing. But definitely not for kidsit will give them nightmares.
We have had this game for a few years and every now and then we open it and play it again. Its actually a quite dark theme, but the end is good. One thing Ive thought of is there needs to be a sequel. Its been left open for one, but nothing. We dont like having things hanging, but apparently this is going to stay that way. Anyway, the graphics are superb and we love it overall.
We dont usually leave reviews but Ive played dozens, possibly hundreds, of point-and-click adventure and escape games on iOS, and this game is the holy grail. Beautiful art, interesting puzzles, and incredible atmosphere. Cannot recommend highly enough. Just get it.
The artwork in this is some of the best in our opinion! We love spooky hellscape artwork like this and occasionally replay this every once in a while.
This is, by far, the darkest, most absorbing, challenging game Ive played. The artwork is stunning, the story line macabre, the plot complex, the ending dramatic. Whoever or those who wrote this must be demented . It took us a week of several hours each day and the benefit of a YouTube walkthrough to complete. It generated some very interesting dream (and Im no spring chicken). Highly recommended. Well worth every penny.
First, thank you to all the people who put this game together. The art, the story, the puzzles and hints were challenging. Some gorey art may make this not a good choice for little ones-unless they are use to horror and have knowledge of special FX & how it is not real. We got out of the caves, past the train ride and still have more to play. This is not a short game. When we first started playing we had to cheat by watching a walkthrough on YouTube (otherwise now know as THEYTube with all the censorship going on…) Get this game!!! You will not be sorry. After our cheating once, it helped us to see what was needed and how to play better. It you get stuck, there are always walkthroughs. Do not give up!! This game is worthy of playing through til the end. We cannot say enough good things about it, we absolutely loved it.

We really enjoyed this game. Great story with an awesome ending. Your decisions mean something in this game, so we played through twice to see what happens with different decisions and enjoyed all of it! If you like to see artwork from some twisted minds, this game is loaded with some cool stuff to see. Highly recommended.

Pleasantly surprised. With point and click games being a very saturated, and at this point, dull genre, it was nice to see a project undertaken by a indie team that was original and unique.

Worth every cent of its purchase, we began playing this game totally certain there was no possible way this game could last as long as Id want it to. The scenes are mesmerizing, the artwork is very reminiscent of H.R. Giger and the themes are dark and evil. Its a fun game and little different from whats out there. Every scene is a piece of art. In terms of play – its easy. We enjoyed it.
We have played so many point and click and hidden mystery games but none top this one! Can be very hard and you think you are at a dead end, but then find what you need to do! We love having two different endings. Took a long time our first time playing it and then it becomes easier. The artwork is beautiful and good story line. Would love to do another one like this.
We dont write many reviews. We take exception to this title. Most games you play dont have a real story behind them or are seriously lacking in the methodology behind them. Not so for this game. Every choice you make will affect the ending, and you will not see the ending coming. (You cant get stuck or need to restart if you miss anything. If you miss it, it will still be available to you.) Loved it. To the developers: Great ending… But will she.
The only done side is that the direction arrows can be a little hard to see.
Excellent in all ways! The game has outstanding graphics, clever puzzles, and a coherent story line. There are multiple endings depending on how you play, so you can replay this game several times if you want. Highly recommended and well worth the $5.
If you like using your head to figure out how things work, you will enjoy this. we're not sure how close we are to finishing but the only think we feel it needs it to be a bit tougher. * we do love how it's almost like a maze your trying to keep up with where each room is while figuring out what you need from each one. (Has no commercials & no need to purchase a thing in game, for us is a plus) Hope to find more like this when done.
Very exceptional game and great storyline. Its not very hard but its hard enough to work your brain!! This is by far the best escape game Ive come across Ed and cant wait to play more by this maker. Great job on this game.

We were a bit skeptical about buying this, but we love puzzles, and the artwork of the each scene drew us in. This game is fantastic and can show yourself who you are as the main character is not dignified. We have played this game over and over, while its not a long game, its one that stays with you.

Just played through this for the second time. The art and music are top notch and they create a haunting and immersive experience. Theyre making a sequel and we couldnt be happier.

Edit: just finished the game and wow. This is far and above just more meaningful than pretty much ever other game Ive played on iPhone. Even though its shorter than a traditional console game, this deserves to be on the level with one of them. It is a game that is going to stay with us for a long, long time. We saw no translation issues either. Some of the lines are spoken or written in riddles deliberately. This game is amazing and of the quality that we wish we saw more of in a mobile game. Great interpretation of Gigers art. Its definitely grotesque and at times disturbing, but nothing scary per se. It adds to the story and beauty of it actually. More thoughtful and meaningful than anything. The scenes are so intricate we found ourselves just staring at the them and zooming in for detail. We definitely want some high quality art from this game. Bravo, guys. Not for young kids for sure. The plot is poignant and there are some themes of mythology/religion enough to give it deeper meaning without beating you over the head with it. We want to learn more about this world. 1000% would buy another game from these guys.

What an ending! But we will not spoil that, just keep in mind that while you are indeed playing a game, you are also being judged on your actions. With that being said, here is what we thought of the game: Incredibly amazing. This is definitely a horror game, so do not play if you don't like what you see in the preview. Every scene is creepy and grotesque. But it's not actually a scary game. The puzzles are not too frequent and not too hard, but the the game is so immersive you don't need an immediate puzzle all the time. There is always a task going on for you to figure out. And not to mention the overall task, which is unknown to you. That made the game interesting, as we knew that it was all going to lead somewhere eventually, and it was fun just being in the moment. We would definitely recommend this game if you don't mind the look of it. It is an incredibly unique concept and look. It was also longer than we expected. Well worth the $5.
If you like these type of games like we do youd most certainly want to check this one out. Very original theme and the artwork was amazingly detailed, the game is not too difficult and has a nice flow. Get the game! Usually once you play these type of games there isnt much replay value as you have figured everything out but this one has different endings so you need to play it at least twice if not more, definitely worth the $.
Highly recommended. We didnt like it at first because we found the first couple of puzzles confusing, but it quickly grew on us. Give it a chance to grow on you and you wont be disappointed. Good replay value as well. We would like to see more adult games from this developer.

This game is so cool. It is dark, with some morbid,yet beautiful, imagery. The outcome changes based on the decisions you make in the game. Its really thoughtful and the puzzles are a moderate challenge. Definitely not as hard as some – like you dont need to take notes or do math like some games we have played. We actually appreciated that, bc sometimes we just want to chill and enjoy interesting imagery and music without getting too frustrated. The music was absolutely delightful and matched the scenes perfectly. Hope they make another one.
We've never found a game like this before, and we doubt we ever will again. It's atmospheric and visually stunning. The storyline is unique, and the puzzles are fun.
We believe we have played games as well, or perhaps, even more elegantly put together… However, we have never played a game with a better storyline, a more emotionally charged atmosphere or one that will stick in our memory like this one will! Bravo to everyone who had anything to do with this digital journey. It is more than a game… It is a deep dive into our hearts and souls and dares us to look with truth at our lives, our decisions and which choices we make are truly the most honorable in the end. Thank you for the creation of a body of work that was wonderful to experience.
This is a great puzzle game. We suggest you have plenty of time for this game because you wont want to put it down. You may even consider calling into work sick just so you can continue playing.

Im not even a huge fan of point n clicks but the art style is just gorgeous, and the dark tone and atmosphere is right up our alley…the inclusion of moral choices that determine your ending is also a nice touch…glad we finally picked this one up after all this time.
Fantastic, disturbing art, reminiscent of Dali, Geiger and Beksinski wrap this classic puzzler. It doesnt break any new ground in gameplay, but provides a nostalgic experience. A deliciously rich, disquieting environment is the star of this game. The single con is that the dark palette makes a couple of the puzzles difficult to solve if you suffer from color blindness. Be prepared to hit a walkthrough if this is the case.
The atmosphere and music to this gAme really sold us on how much fun it is to play. The puzzles can be too easy at times but still a great experience of a game. Definitely found some interesting gems of dialogue and story here.
One of the best games we've played. Captivates from the start and never loses momentum. Strangely beautiful graphics. Thoroughly enjoyed it! Hats off to OhNoo Studios.
That was simply one of the best games ive ever purchased. The athmosphere of game reminded us of dark souls.
