Community Insight:
Extremely fun, challenging, and engaging. Its our favorite iOS game, at least until we check out what else the developers made. Bought the rpg bundle becausei love this game so much and Im excited to check out what else they can make.
Tip: buy the insurance. Even when the price increases, you can still purchase it if you have at least 1000.
This game is the game of games. It is adhesive to the fullest extent of the law. Ever a masterpiece, its honor is honored.
We got this game 3 or 5 years ago when it first appeared and we played it many times since then. We cannot explain how, but the game is very esthetically appealing. It has great music and art. The gambling chance element is probably what is most fun about it. It is difficult to explain what about this is fun exactly since it is many elements together. But we think the music plays a very important part in this. Besides that the rogue like part makes you want to continue playing even after you lose.
They give you 500 gold to write a review, but even if they didnt this is a frustratingly fun game.
Another fantasiticly difficult and challenging game. If you fail the first 3 times. You havent tried a 4th time. The pace of each game differs based on luck.
Interesting progressions and cool retro style. Great game, great studio.
The game is fun and a worthwhile investment but its easy to lose it all in this game. Literally. Story we felt was a bit better in the slots game but this gameplay format appeals to us more as its less chance based. Its fun but whether or not youre willing to start from scratch upon defeat is the real test.
When we bought this game when it first came out it there were no micro transactions. But even sense adding them they messed with the mechanics of the game to promote buying in game currency to the point you cant really progress without it, just like all their other titles. Just horrible.
Like the threeinarow matching game.
Takes a few minutes to figure out, but helps to pass the time.
Rogue-like RPG using fast-paced match three battling… You know youll be hooked.
Game Stew does elegant, pixelated games with addictive elements. This one is a change from the more "slot machine" mechanic they use in other places. Our only complaint is the lack of direction, but with a little foolin' around, you can figure it out.
This developer always has great gameplay and a rich world. Good art, well developed concepts and gameplay and a bit of narrative interest. Not much options for how to progress though….just survive as you gain gold.
Game blows. No depth. You die and start back at zero. Blows.
Just love this game but we can't buy in-game items, do in-app purchases, forge items or equip our character. Hopefully this gets fixed soon.
It's a little grindy but it's fun to progress.
Wish you'd keep the same level when you die.
We haven't beaten this game yet but for the time we have spent playing it we have had a great time. There is a lot of farming to upgrade gear but other than that everything else is amazing. We also enjoy the feeling of getting better gear and being much stronger than the enemies in the previous dungeons.
Great addition to the Tower of Fortune lineage.
Devil Shard is a simple, yet pretty fun, game. The pixel art is beautiful and reminds us of the GameBoy and NES era. If you are a casual gamer, Devil Shard is probably a good game for you since everything about it is logical and intuitive while battles are challenging and rather short.
Fun game, nothing epic, but still solid with nice rpg elements and an enjoyable, creative battle system.
We love almost everything game stew does. The need to tone down the grindi-ness of their games but they are always fun and stylish.
Very similar to TOF and TOF2, devil shard takes you though the character development process once again. If you liked to previous titles we named you will like this as well.
All of this companies games are the same boring mix.
Good job Dev's love your game's keep em coming lol.
A great addition to the saga of the nameless hero. We loved the last two games and we were excited to find this third one. It's completely different but in a good way.
We loved tower of fortune. This is better. Highly addicting, difficult but well balanced and fun.
We played ToF and ToF 2… Devil Shard is another winner.
It's fun and fairly simple, but compels you to keep pushing for that next upgrade. If you like games like Dungeon Raid or Hero Emblems, you'll like this! A few little tweaks would make a big difference. 1- we know you avoid color, but the shield and the potion are not easy to distinguish compared to games that use stark color contrast- This could use a visual update 2- we can't tell when we level up if the bonuses are cumulative- Does a level 4 "+1 to swords" mean +4 to swords? We think the tiers could use some clarity 3- It would be great if we could choose when to use items- we don't need to use arrows on the first enemies, or bandage our protector spirit.
We like how you can earn different items with combos and you have a goal to reach instead of just solving wave after wave of puzzles! Good job.
We've been playing this game for we don't know how long, but it's one of the best.
There are many interesting things to be fun.
This game is fun to play for a minute or an hour! We really like the concept of match-3 and turn-based combat. However the game quickly gets hard, and when your hero dies you have to start all over again. This isn't as bad as some of their other games, where when you die you have to start a story all over again, but it's still a bit frustrating.
Dark souls lite + match 3 = addictively awesome.
We'll give it 5 stars when we get the souls we earn from equipment during a fight.
Classic appeal. Can't say we understand why Buddha is in it though.
A little confusing to learn, didn't figure out what skulls did forever. Some UI is badly designed.
A lot of developers opt to produce exceedingly complex games that can't hold anyone's attention for long. So having a game like this come along is a real treat. It hits the sweet spot between simple and complex, with upgrading items juxtaposed to a very easy-to-learn combat system. The only problems are the random increases in difficulty caused by the way the blocks drop and the fact that other players can challenge you to duels regardless of the differences in equipment. Despite that, this game is a must have for anyone with an iPhone or an iPad.
Great concept. Light in content.
Iss a'igh, buhh it b 2 damm ha'ad.
Simple and well put together app, but the game seems unnecessarily punishing unless you spend money. Losing items and levels every time you die is so annoying, making it obligatory to buy the item in game that prevents the loss of items when you die, which is hard to get unless you payment.
Game Stew's best title yet. Addictive.
Fun, interesting, nice aesthetic.
Less depth than its predecessors, but still an enjoyable extension of the game series. Hope you keep making games.
Dis gaim maid us jiz al day end we cryd bcuz it 3 gud 5 us.
But…. Not as good tower of fortune 1 or 2. We really didn't like gargoyle but we'll give it another try soon. We like the developers of this game and like that they take risks.
The game really gets you. It starts easy, increase the difficulty enourmously and the pushes for the best. Nice challenge.
Not bad atall we are hoping for continuous updated to expand the excellent gameplay but momma always said we were greedy like dat.
Game Stew is by far our favorite game developer. They are the best at casual play hybrid RPGs – hands down! We have finished Tower of Fortune, Tower of Fortune 2, Ancient Legacy, and we're in the middle of Devil Shard right now and enjoying it immensely. The thing that separates Game Stew from everyone else, to us, is the way they immerse you in a casual play game. We never feel like the game is on rails, and we always feel like we have total control over our inventory. This provides incredible replayability. Once again, we have to ask Game StewPlease make a Lord of the Rings game. These mechanisms you use such as match 3 and slots are perfect for that genre, and the retro pixel art is the perfect medium for it as well. We were looking at the top of the screens in Devil Shard and noticing the beautifully crafted landscape. We immediately started thinking of Frodo and the hobbits walking along the landscape while we tried to skillfully play the slots to see if we would make it past an Orc horde. Man how cool would it be. You are the perfect studio to finally provide a good treatment for those stories. Thank you, Game Stew. Waiting to buy your next product.
