What Makes VelocityAE Stand Out

GAMEPLAY
Hurl down a wormhole in an 8-bit spaceship… that has a proven track record of exploding… in this retro arcade runner (technically speaking, a space-time continuum flyer). Your only goal is to survive as long as possible. The longer you last, the faster you go, and the higher your score climbs.
Simple, right? HA!
Your dark-matter dash through the prismatic geometry wormhole is comprised of breakneck turns that will shatter your spaceship—and hopes of a high score—when crashed into. Luckily for you, you have infinite lives (and, apparently, an amazing mechanic), so you can replay the game without hesitation or remorse for the rocket you just destroyed seven seconds earlier.

Firstly, we like this game. It's simple and easy to pickup. We do have a couple ideas that would make this game a tad bit better. Let us know what you think. So, Ads are first. Since there are ads already in this game, why is there not an option to pay for the removal of ads? Adding this certianly won't be a detriment. Only as long as the current consistency of ads is kept. It's not too much, which is good. It's balanced. You can only get more money by adding the "pay to remove ads" option. There's nothing to lose. Adding a "Crash" sound when failing would improve the whole aesthetic of the game. Not to mention it would only make it more consistent with the theme you guys gave it. We're thinking space-invaders-esque type of crash noise. You get what we're saying. Lastly, there are two bugs we would like to bring to your attention. The first bug is the initial orientation of the ship. Upon starting a level and rapidly hitting the left and right arrows, sometimes, we'de say 3/10 times, the ship get fixed in a left or right facing position. This has minimal effect on gameplay, however, it bugs us. And probably other players as well. The second bug happens when the orentation changes from vertical to landscape while in the main menu, and then immediately starting after the game adjusts its ratio.The left and right arrows sometimes do not adjust to the repective corners. They instead are not visible at all. And are located slightly closer to the middle of the screen, at the bottom. They still work, but it does impede the ability to make good progress when our fingers are more centrally placed/hovering above the invisible arrow keys. That is all we have for now. So, first off, we got 1088 in 4 tries :) Edit: 3022 as of now! 26.89 speed! This game is amazing! It has simplicity, but it's also extremely complicated, somehow, creating a unique blend of game. Gotta say, the music is great! It's also, will admit, extremely hard. We're currently going for 10,000, and we predict it will take at least a month. Great game.
Although the game is good and all you should make it more challenging to get 500 or 1000. From what we read in the descriptions about this game we thought it would be harder. You could release a harder sequel of this game or make it harder in an update. Other than that it's a great game. This is very good considering it was done by Rolith in his spare time. P.S.- we play AQW. The given nickname is our username.
The game is fantastic. We think you could guess that from the title of the review, but we'll say it anyway. We have no issues with it, other than that we want to be able to regenerate further down the course for points instead of restarting. We think it would be fun. However, it is probably unrealistic and is therefore just a dream. Our reason for this dream are thus: past speed 20, you feel invincible when you last more than 10 seconds. Every sharp turn, narrowly missing a wall, increases adrenaline, alertness, attention, and jolts like always, but in a more extreme fashion. This makes it worth it to try, in your free time, trapped in a cab or such, to make it too… Velocity.
Great game. We'll recommend it to all of our friends.
This small indie company sure knows how to make good games. Instantly addicted. Great take on an endless runner.
Been playing for over a week and still addicted! Its hard to get over 1k points however, the spaceships are glitched.other than that its best arcade game we have played on our ipad.
We love the 8bit games they just always had a feel to them basically what we're saying is we love the game keep it up rolith and the AE team! :).
This is a great "pick-up-and-play" game for people who just want to kill time without having to reach the end of a level to save – and it was harder than we expected. It took us at least 20 minutes to succeed at a 1000-point run, and ~3/4 of that time was spent crashing into walls. Not bad for something coded in just 24 hours.
After playing this game, we can honestly say that Velocity AE's fame will rise in VELOCITY. :P.
Well we finally have a game we could play on the toilet Nah that's not our only comment It's really addicting and fun And also the comment Roliths Mom gave this game though.
Well for starters this game is hard but very addictive and from what we seen by the creators that this was a one day project and it has done well imagine a week project don't let the image fool you it's great.
We GIVE THIS APP 10 TARANTULAS OUT OF 10 TARANTULAS!! THIS GAME IS GREAT TO PLAY ON THE TOYLATEEE!! MUST GET GAME. But honestly this game really is amazing. Yet the the Jarrasic Park ad does pop up this game is probably one of our favorites now. Bye bye Splashy Fish and hellllloooo VELOCITY 8-BIT.
We literally have nothing wrong with this. Figuratively, too, there isn't a thing out of place. The blend of sarcastic nuggets of humor and addictive gameplay make this something you simultaneously don't want to put down and something you want to throw at the wall- Even the coloring is good, a mixture of both calming and distracting that really makes it unique with its execution. Five out of five stars, AE.

This game is extremely addicting! Can't seem to stop playing lol.
Great job Rolith. This one day project is fun, addictive, and will likely result in the hurling of our phone. We are impressed :-).
For the most part it's a fun addictive game to play in short bursts, our only complaint is once we reach a speed of over 20 the game tends to lag in spurts for some reason and if it happens during a turn it kills us and we can't do anything about it. We're playing on an iPhone 6 so we didn't think we'd have an issue, but if this gets fixed we'll probably change our review to a 5.
This is a perfect, addictive, arcade game. It has everything we could look for in a game except for the buttons. We wish the buttons were replaced with the ability to just touch which side you……. We can't English. Our insides feel like they're melting.
We love that it is simple and easy to get the hang of…. Great for a temporary escape between meetings… Great nostalgic design that should be entertaining for most.
Very addicting, simple controls, excited for future update (^)b.
Honestly if your into this sorta thing you may like it but honestly it isn't for everyone. If they wanted to make a game that would do well and is addicting try make a game similar to Run 3 of Kongregate.
