Crokinole is a dexterity table-top board game that combines elements of billiards and strategy. Players take turns shooting discs across a circular playing surface, trying to have their discs land in higher-scoring regions of the board, while also attempting to knock away opposing discs.

We like the game and was able to adjust to the virtual physics pretty easily. Scoring is a little vague during the rounds, so Id suggest that the system recognize the 5/10/15 discs on the board and show the appropriate live score throughout each round. Also when playing online theres no indication as to WHO Im playing against. Is there a way to add/edit a username?
Crokinole is great but this app feels pretty low rent.
Why am we always always always going first in every round? We literally never get last shot.
Our friends and we play a lot of Crokinole in real life so we are really enjoying this game. The major flaws in game play are the way the disc picks up speed after hitting a post like it was a pinball machine! The distance gauge gets weird as well when you tilt the board. The new online opponent feature could be really cool if you could sign in and find your buddy! We played our friend the other night but that will become impossible as the game gets more popular. 5 stars and a bunch of new users if you can work on these issues!
We recently downloaded this game (3/2022) and its already been stuck on a turn. It should be our turn, but our next piece doesn’t appear on the board. Our opponents doesnt either. Game over. Also, the pot is odd – sometimes a disk which doesnt seem close will go in, other times a disk will glide right over the pot, despite having the same power bar setting as the last time. Very hard to gauge.
Positives. Cheap, it is Crokinole so addictive and simple to play. Not that many Crokinole games available digitally on the App Store. Negatives. Crashes pretty frequently. Physics feel akin to those in GTA 3, this can be frustrating. At times the hit detection just seems startlingly inconsistent. Sometimes the AI just does absolutely dumb stuff. Summary. At least it is cheap.
One thing we’ve noticed is that the power bar is very inconsistent. You can shoot 3 different discs from the exact same spot, and pull back until the power bar is in the exact same spot, and theyll all go different distances. Its cost us games, not because we wasnt aiming correctly, or calculating the right amount of power, but the power bar didnt give the same result. Its like knowing 1 + 1 = 2, and having the answer come out 3, when you had every right to expect 2!
Shots are often wonky. Bumps are unpredictable. One post said an update will improve physics. Would like to see tournament scoring system implemented as an option to offer quicker games. Games to 100 feel very slow. Feel tournament scoring rules (especially with 2P) is much more engaging way to play. Even if its not the official way.
After 1-3 turns we get kicked off each time. We are playing online with compatible ipads. Can you help please. Thank you. Auntalma.
The pot hole is odd sometimes a shot to the side will magically go in and sometimes not. But we hate how it keeps resetting the view when the computer plays! We have to keep moving the view back. Add online play!
Crokinole is an addicting game, and this app keeps that feeling. The controls are pretty intuitive, though sometimes it seems hard to place our disc where we want it. It has hung up on us once or twice. Also the rule about which player starts the next round is not like NCA rules, and the app didnt always follow its own rule on that. But its fun to play and pretty well done.
So far we have had a lot of fun with the game. We love Crokinole and its nice to play it without being home on our board. That said, sometimes the physics give us a bit of trouble. We have had a few shots where 90% of our disc is over the center hole but it doesnt go in or shots where the bounces are just crazy. We still have a lot of fun with it and we will definitely update our review if those issues get fixed. In its current state, the app is a fun, sometimes frustrating, experience that we will keep using.
