Time is of course your most valuable resource, but the game seems good at explaining how to play if you are new to deck building games (like we was). Only complaint is that every now and then the background will flicker and grey squares will be visible instead of the card arts. Its really only an inconvenience for a few minutes and then fixes itself over time.

Always enjoyable, always free to play even for newbies. Wish it lagged a bit less on mobile tho.

Good concept. Would like to see more campaign (only half of one campaign so far). Also a little glitchy: a lot of times it doesnt show the cards in play unless you tap and hold them.

Its well written and creative. Theres a story behind it.

You can tell the developers care about this game. They are constantly updating and improving on it. Its refreshing to see less predatory practices implemented but still keeping a business running with some paid things. Keep it up team!

The tech support team was very helpful with restoring our profile after reinstalling the app in an attempt to get around an error. Thanks for the quick response. We must have a new profile though, because we couldn’t update our previous review after the problem was resolved.

We love this game for its take on dominion and the really different playstyles and feel of each faction. Vestipole feels like classic dominion mechanics, and the other factions diverge off that. One downside – we loathe the % chance on cards. Theres a lot of randomness from drawing cards from a deck and what restocks in your bank. Cards that have a 15% chance to do X or 50% chance to be destroyed is too much rng. Those mechanics could be made more elegant we wish they did more card rebalancing too, but we do rave about how cool this game idea is.

This game already has been around for more than 4 years at Kongregate and it has a few limited cards which you cannot get anymore. If you are a collector like us, it will disappoint you. The game itself is fun though.

It’s a solid single player game. It takes a bit to really get the hang of it, but that’s a good thing and is part of what makes it a fun game. The mechanics are solid and are unique among CCGs. The dialog, quotes, and historical references are interesting. Importantly, the guilds are differentiated and asymmetrical both aesthetically and strategically. We’re not so sure about multi player. Pack and in-game resource system is good. Card upgrade system is meh partly due to the nature of the cards.

Gameplay is great… Manages to walk an excellent line of being highly asymmetrical by any standard yet also very well balanced. Quite a few really interesting mechanics we’ve never seen before… Matchmaking has an annoying tendency of taking too long and pairing you over and over with the same person, but there’s actually a pretty decent sized community so you aren’t playing alone at least. But overall the play is very fun and quite fair. While not overly long, the campaign mode actually has a legitimately well written story too.. Interesting plot and the dialogue is actually extremely witty, we laughed heartily at multiple points. That said… Do NOT regard this as free to play… You cannot adequately play this without spending about 10 dollars. While you can grind a lot of free currency, the ability to spend it on anything but the weaker cards is locked behind a paywall… We’re not even sure how long it’d take to grind out the ability to participate in tournaments via common packs and Max 1 free gold pack a day. And while,I wouldn’t say it’s pay to win, if you don’t buy in at all, spect to lose due to lack of card pools. If you look at this as a 10 dollar game with a free demo, I’d actually say it’s top flight… Well worth it. But the monetization is really deceptive in an ugly way.

If we wanted to play a quest we would have played it rather than skipping it. As it is we frequently get the same kind of quest again, which is really frustrating if we dont play the faction or multiplayer. Just now we had to watch 8 commercials just to get a reasonable quest. Booooring! This will likely cause us to abandon the game if its not quickly changed. Other than that… Multiplayer rewards people dropping out of the game, it causes a tie… Unless its been fixed. It was extremely frustrating to play so we havent been back. The actual mechanics of the game are fun! Looking forward to better multiplayer matches. Maybe allow us to play single player while the system looks for players to match up with?

Says we can watch ads to switch quests. We cant. facepalm

Game is addicting!!!! Fun game to get into.

We’ve been playing this game on kongregate for years and have always enjoyed it. Especially glad that a mobile version is now available and that the creators allowed linking of accounts so years of progress wasnt lost.

We played this game for years on Kongregate and it hadnt been updated, but other players including myself truly loved this CCG. We are so glad it has come to mobile and we are hoping that the Devs continue to work on the game and improve the campaign and continue to release more cards and heroes to choose from. We have seen some 1 star and 2 star reviews saying you can only play with 2 heroes and it isnt fun. That isnt the case, you just have to go in and get heroes from the store randomly from a card selection. Super excited to rebuild our deck and have the freedom of being mobile. Keep up the good work fifth column you guys have an awesome game here!

Awesome game that we’ve been playing since kongregate!

This game is addictive and easy to pick up. Highly recommend as a person that loves collectible card games, but rarely has time to gather people to play. This is the great kind of free to play game. Its accessible, fun and can totally play without spending money. We honestly want to spend money because this is how free to play should be done.

Very rewarding quests, quests completable by fighting AIs, multiplayer game play efficient and skill intensive, free to play is actually free to play if you take the time to invest in the completion of quests every day. Overall we would say if this game had an artwork rework, it would be perfect. Keep doing what you are doing.

We love the game. Been playing for years. The mobile version was made well. If the developers read this, Im really only rating because you guys pestered us every other game about rating. For 100 in game currency coins. That was hella annoying.

This game might be fun when they finish it, but it has very little replay value. The game description is not accurate; it describes play features which are not implemented. Among the most egregious errors in the description: -There are not 20 playable heros, there is 1 hero which has a campaign where later stages are coming soon -There is a second hero which can play in skirmish mode. Thats it. -You can get the other heros, but they are not playable. Guess that will get implemented later. So basically you can play as only 2 of the 4 factions, and only in skirmish mode, and only with a choice of two heros. This obviously gets repetitive and boring pretty fast. IF this game had more than half of one heros campaign, and if it allowed you to actually play with the additional heros you can earn but cant use, then it would be a lot of fun. Its preposterous this game has a good rating considering its less than 10% complete and considering the description of play features is a lie. They do not explain you cannot go very far. You will have done everything possible to do in this game within a few days of casual play.

Started playing a few days back and enjoy the gameplay style versus other CCGs. Was experiencing some graphics glitches (i.e. Screen blink and cards in play not displaying) so we deleted and reinstalled. Didnt realize we would have to start from scratch on our own device. Tried to put in our Multiplayer name again and it said it was already in use. ErTried to create a new one using our sons name, claimed that there was profanity in it (not even remotely close). We really enjoy playing online, but despite the username debacle, it wouldnt ever match us with anyone as the queue seemed to last forever with no indication of how long we should be waiting. Any resolution to the aforementioned would have us rating this game much higher.

A lot of fun, feels very much like they value the player and their time. Tons to do with a great feeling system.

Swear this whole time been looking for updates on the site we use to play this on. Then we random search and its here! Then we were about to be sad about losing all our progress, but nah yal got that figured out already and linked the accounts! Probably will forever be one of our favorite deck builders. We hope you guys continue to update and develop this game.

This is a great game. We would definitely recommend this game if you are a fan of hearthstone.

There are some fun mechanics in here that flesh out the game play, making it more satisfying than playing say, Ascension. The developers have created the beginning of a single player campaign mode with a rich story. The art work is great, as are the different factions. Im having a hard time picking a favorite. If you like deckbuilders or collectible card games, we definitely recommend War of Omens.

We love this game so much, it is like Hearthstone. If you like those types of card games you would like this.

Been playing for a while, though we stopped and only returned recently when the devs resumed work on this game. Because of the large gap, many players have very developed collections, which might be discouraging to newer players, but we hope they persevere and stick around because the game is great. Active discord and online community which id recommend for any new players.

App is glitchy, stops and freezes. Good game.

Our biggest gripe is we cant see the small cards on the landscape layout. The Dev could have made the cards much bigger like other card games. Our other gripe is the cards cycle slowly so if you are given a bad deck to start off, then you probably just lost. Otherwise, its an addictive game with good gameplay and well thought out design. Lastly, this game could be a money sink if you need more resources or better cards like right now.

This is a outstanding game. Lets you save many deck builds and you never lose a card after having unlocked it. No limit on how often you play on skirmish-mode.

Love this game! Great balance of immediate action and lasting gameplay. Developers are constantly adding new cards to keep fresh. 5 stars!!

Refreshing mechanics, such as not requiring 25 hours of playtime to get a single good card, and giving out actually substantial rewards for winning and playing games. The "draft" mode (tournament) is also lots of fun!

We’ve been playing this game for years on PC and Im glad its getting some new life, our one complaint is that if you dont already know what all the cards are its really hard to read, the cards are to small.

We have been playing this for a few years now, but stopped when the devs stopped working on it about two years ago. Well now they are back and the improved the in game economy and ported it to mobile. While progression can seem slow, just because of the upgrade mechanic for cards, one does not need to have a top tier deck to play and this is the only card game where grinding against the AI, which is surprisingly good, is actually fun. As far as gameplay goes, it is fantastic, it is for deck builders what MOBAs are for RPGs, condenses all of the fun of a long game into a short game. The tournament mode is also fantastic, having completely different heroes from the normal game and letting you pick cards from any faction. The tournament mode is also effectively free, with one being able to get three tickets every day for free. The setting is also surprisingly unique, being set in a renaissance era world, with the factions being European nobility, nomadic Aztec people, magic Indians and the Illuminati. Overall, fun game.

EDIT:::: to the Devs Thanks for the response, we’ve changed our review to 3* just because of your comments. We tried to be fair to the team but still give our honest feed back without calling everything trash lol. Some of the remarks were aimed at other reviewers as well, at this point we thought they were devs talking up the game. As far as a counter strategy goes not much you can do when your deck is designed one way and the opponents deck is designed as a direct counter, most other tcgs we’ve played are not nearly as punishing as this when it comes to a counter deck. We’ve played a few games where we cant use anything because we get a bad pool and our opponent from the first turn is able to leave us helpless. Not the best mechanic there is…. We feel we were honest with the packs, for a free game it truly is a good system. We did make a purchase for one gem to receive the silver packs, kinda steep for one card 2.99? Seriously for one card that is steep, thats our one complaint about the freemium design but you guys have to make money so we understand. Did the campaign and have still been playing, but that doesnt make it that much easier. Getting all the kinds of decks possible and then upgrading them is…. Well maybe a campaign each would be helpful, we know more are coming but having barley enough cards to make a deck and then do the dailys is just well no lol. Im still playing the game and still churning along so Ill redo a review later, as of now we dont think there is any reason to delete our last review as we believe it is harshly fair. We would rather someone be brutally honest then sugar coat stuff and then you end up thinking everything is kosher so you dont fix it. ORIGINAL REVIEW:: Must be the only ones reviewing this game as of now. There is no way the heroes are balanced, there is no way it doesnt take 25 hours to get a good card. The game plays kind of like a rock, paper, grenade game. Some heroes just trump all other ones with no chance of you winning at all. Example would be a deck that has no creatures can manage to take every creature from your hand and keep you from even accumulating resources to play the game….. Yup every hero can counter that our a**. It may not take 25 hours to get that good card but if you ever want to be able to use it then it will take 25 hours. You get cards after you level up your heroes or if you get lucky on a pack (albeit packs are decent and dont seem to be mainly junk) and each time you get a duplicate card you get iron and exp. A decent card will have a summon cost of 10+ gold something you usually get 3-5 a turn depending on cards, you then have to spend over 400 iron to upgrade it so it costs 1 less gold thats just for the first upgrade of a decent card we have yet to even attempt the rarer cards. The card packs are tiered, 300, 1000 and 3000 coins to buy and one that costs 1 gem. 300 coins are available to everyone,1000 ones requires you to make a purchase the cheapest is 2.99$ for one gem then the 3000 coin one requires 10$ spent. The tiers work by dropping off the most common drop each level, 300 contain common to rare 1000 drops off etc etc… You can earn one free gem a day by doing the daily quests and a free one once a week. One nice thing is the packs are fairly decent and do give you a nice mixture of common to rares in the 300 coin pack. TLDR: game is unbalanced and takes a while to get a competitive deck but card packs seem fair, albeit everything beyond the basic pack is behind pay wall.

If it were not for all of the packs being behind a paywall, this game would easily be a very fun 5 Star game. However due to upgraded packs being behind a paywall, in order to get any new cards, (at the point where we are in the game), takes about 20 standard packs.

This is a great game, however there are two things that keep it from being epic.. One,the definition of pack means more than one!! Yet when you purchase a card pack from the store you are shown 3 cards but can only choose one. Really?? If thats the case, and thats being really cheap, then it should say single card.. Then theres the glaring total unbalanced you vs computer, its impossible to win on anything past neophyte mode, and dont even get us started on campaign. Making the game more balanced would make for a much better game. Hopefully this will happen otherwise we think we might delete what could have been an epic game.

This deck builder is sooo much fun! Single & multiplayer, with four factions & multiple heroes in each faction. Each hero has a unique ability, and you can unlock multiple decks per hero. Never gets old; feelin sick of Metris? Switch it up to Vespitole! One of our ultimate favorite games, and by far our favorite deck builder. Opening packs is super satisfying & although you can buy resources, the game is not gated at all by any pay to play nonsense. Fun for all ages.

This game doesnt take advantage or offer a p2w strategy. The development team is super friendly and very vocal in the community!

So yes there are in app purchases, but the fact that we dont need to buy anything to avoid ads or unlock enough to play is already a plus. The gameplay is amazing. We feel like Im actually playing a board game. Its almost a cross of dominion and Mtg. Really engaging play and you make enough in game currency to open new packs all the time. The addition of having different characters with different sets of cards and abilities ensures no getting bored. Really enjoy it, have yet to play multiplayer but Im definitely going to introduce this to friends that play board games and see what they think. First review we’ve ever written and yes it was prompted by the game. Yet Im glad it did because we wouldnt write this essay of a review otherwise.

There are so many praises to be sung about this game: the art design is beautiful, the concept for each strategy/character is immaculate, and the campaign story is also really fun. Cannot thank the developers enough for a really cool game. However, we keep running into the same problem: Most days when there are any multiplayer/tournament daily goals, we are unable to complete them because there are not enough active players, even when we check back at multiple times throughout the day. We wish there was a way to freely skip those goals in favor of others that dont rely on other players being active as well. Another issue is that when we clicked on the App Support button in this App Store listing, it took us to a 404 Page Not Found. Are the developers still around? Overall though, we do wanna circle back to the beginning and say thanks for a cool game! :)

This game is a very interesting take on the typical card game genre. We wish the devs still cared about it or there was any kind of community.

We really enjoy the game. But you have to watch an ad to be able to buy a new card pack. Not that you get a free card pack for watching an ad. But if you want to buy a card pack then you have to watch an ad first. Its odd, almost like you are getting screwed twice. Not only do you have to buy a pack of cards, but you have to watch an ad before they will let you buy a pack. Its pretty ridiculous. If this game were pay once and play. We would love it. Its a fun game.

We have played this game for years on both laptop and phone, and it has always said coming soon on the campaign. Once something actually does come out on the campaign we will update the rating but until then teasing for years about it is not okay.

Played the game years ago on Kongregate before flash died and we couldnt play it any longer. Thought we could have some fun when we saw it was on mobile. Unfortunately it seems that the developer has stopped working on the game. As of this review, the last update is about a year ago and even the starter campaign is only about half there with the rest labeled Coming soon. Who knows maybe the developers will come back and continue but not at this time.
