WAR OF THE ZOMBIE:
As Global Operations Director of Safe Industries, take charge of its Ark Carrier and recruit marines & other personnel, purchase real-life military equipment, research advanced technologies, build forward operating bases, move across the world within range of real-time missions, nuke, scavenge, infect, bribe, fortify and defend against the world’s country governments in an attempt to save humanity from the zombie pandemic and resulting chaos.

Its incredibly fun and engaging and the lack of needing to be online means Im basically always playing it for hours every day, even leaving our phone on overnight for clear outbreak missions. We love the tactical aspect of managing a worldwide outbreak and the individual missions are very fun. The fact you can reload and restart missions whenever you want is very nice as it essentially lets you choose how hard you want the game to be. We for one dont like failure so we like being able to reload a save when we mess up and someone gets infected. We would recommend it to anyone who enjoys phone games or zombie games. However, we have a few nitpicks: 1. The AI is incredibly dumb. Theyre smart at times, when the rebels are dodging hordes of zombies its rather impressive, but more often than not its bad. Safe soldiers standing completely still as a horde of zombies rushes towards them, getting stuck on vehicles, VIPs having a death wish, etc. 2. The bunkers dont have enough in them. If youve done one bunker youve basically done them all. Besides Dore bars, survivalists, and the vehicles, theres no reason to go in them really. Some hidden research or something that you cant find normally would make them worthwhile. 3. Rare weapons like the flamethrower and survivalist weapons cant be reproduced or stored which is lame. If we want to give a soldier with a flamethrower an M4 for the mission theres no reason the flamethrower should dematerialize. 4. Getting new weapons from countries doesnt really work. It works for everything else like buying vehicles but not weapons. Its bugged. 5. Not nearly enough research projects available. 6. Not enough control of your units. 7. Some more mission types would be fantastic. Maybe espionage missions as jobs for other countries where you fight into an embassy to steal a document. Something like that. 8. Constant Text to speech is very obnoxious. 9. Better uniforms for the safe soldiers. Maybe an option to give them cool masks or something. 10. One day we opened the game and our save was gone. There was no reason for it. Our save was just gone. Which sucked a lot. Besides all that its still incredibly fun and we have to recommend it for that. But it could just use some work.
Honestly its one of the most fun zombie games we have played on mobile. You are able to put down soldiers and control them from like a birds eye view while doing various missions. If you have played games like this you will enjoy it It is really fun!!! Well worth the price Here are some things that we would like to suggest for future updates – Chinook cant be used on FOB so while you may have 1 chinook and 2 black hawks you only get to use 2 per in game day it would be nice to be able to use all 3 (and perhaps 2 more in future per FOB) -The KC-130s rarely get used we would like to suggest then being used to transfer soldiers between FOBs and ARK that would be very useful and it could have a similar range on the map as the Cruise Missiles and AirFighters. Perhaps using them for transport of equipment tanks and missiles would be nice as well and would give them greater utility (it would allow for greater use of missiles and other fun equipment at FOBs as currently its limited to 12 missiles) or larger more expensive aircraft like a Globe-master or C-5 galaxy could be added for this purpose. – we dont know if this issue is just for mobile but we were not able to trigger the syndicate event we would also like to see some larger campaign missions (story wise) the underground bases were super fun and would like to see more of that. Along the same lines it would be nice to have some more map variation and perhaps larger maps if you switch dev engines which we would support. – Larger maps would be super cool if you switch dev engines and this could perhaps give way to greater utilization of tanks and other equipment so long as they maintain the same pace of the maps we currently have cause we like the intensity of fighting of the waves of zombies and that is something that should remain. Perhaps the larger maps could be some sort of campaign of war against countries or some sort of story thing. -As for switching dev engines we would definitely support as sad as it may be losing our progress we would gladly do so if it means you guys can continue to make the game even better. Overall we loved the game. You guys made something remarkable and we hope you guys continue it it was super fun playing. (Also if we could get more control over stealth missions that would make the rebel missions and nuke missions enjoying as currently stealth is difficult as the marines dont shoot when you want them to and do when you don’t)
This game was awesome but need new adjustments for later devices like iPad Pro because we are having an issue where the Menu bar is halfway above the bottom so it is unplayable for us on iPad so hoping it will be getting rid of.
Let us start this off by saying its a great game and we love it. The only downfall that we have is theres no way to earn top dollar like 5 million in game currency to buy the nuke bomber . You have to rely on the tanks or the other vehicles with 30mm cannons which are slow and when you got 60,000 zombie on one map with 4 soldiers its very time consuming just clicking everywhere trying not to get eaten and takes you about 4-5 hours. Other than that great game. If you guys can come up with a new update to add a way to earn money more easier by beating level mission etc definitely a great idea but until then we give it a 3 star.
Dont let your Marines die. The games save function is horrendous. We’ve lost saves with over 10k zombie kills because of the save UI alone. Terrible lobbying, idk where Im at when Im playing a game, because it seems to kick us from games when Im in the middle of the mission, but Im chalking that up to the bad save UI and our fat fingers.
The rebels are WAAAY to powerful. A single one can wipe out our entire squad. Kind of makes rebel missions impossible to win. Other than that, its one of the best games on the App Store.
Just a brief updated review to say this game is still awesome! We’ve had this game since it was first released and it amazes us how the game is still getting updates. Worth the asking price.
Keep it the same just add lil details. Like more guns & add an extra person. Fantastic game.
Been following this game for years, and as an developer myself we feel confident a Switch port would be a huge success. Please let us know if its possible, and if not would you mind if we make a shameless clone?
Its a great game! Id love a sandbox mode or something though, to really have fun with all the weapons and stuff.
Need more stuff its getting old quick for 3$
This game is not only better than the more expensive Zombie Outbreak Simulator Pro, But it also allows you to control your marines, and unlike Zombie Outbreak Simulator, you actually have missions and a goal instead of just doing the same thing over and over. And thankfully, you dont have to pay to use cheats because the developers have graciously provided them for you on their Facebook page, and the developers are very active with their players as they develop this game.
We like the game even though we were looking forward for a sandbox mode.
This game is amazing. We cant believe it was buried so far down on the strategy game list. Its a great mix of tactical modern day combat, turn based strategy and critical thinking needed. Im in love with this game. Best $3 we’ve spent on a mobile game.
Though it might lack in regards to a game like strain tactics in micro managing troops. It does do well to make the world feel alive, where your success and failure does matter.
The game itself is good. But if we lose another character because of pathfinding we may break our phone. You better take heed of this review and fix mechanics on this game or it will never do well.
It’s fun game but the rebels are op because of the tanks and mraps, we think it should be like u ignore a rebel for 2 long that get stronger equipment and vehicles.
So besides the developer being extremely supportive and relentless in continuing to support and update his game – more so than any other dev on the App Store – it’s also a fantastic game. A rare combo indeed. If you like strategy, action, and zombies than this is a must have game for your iPad or iPhone. Please reward this dev by trying this game out!
We bought this game the day it came to the App Store, years ago. This is by far the only iPad game (aside from Eufloria HD) that we refuse to delete from our iPad. This game has been with us from our iPad 2 to our iPad Pro and there are STILL consistent updates coming out. Thank you developers for continuing to improve this often over looked gem in the App Store. Give this game a shot. Hopping for a WOTZ 2 one day!!
Publisher has always updated the game to become better we have always enjoyed playing this game.
This is one of those strategy games that are hidden gems. The honest truth is that it is a deep strategy game with good replay value. If you’re looking for we light strategy game to carry for your iPad, this is it. The most important factor this game when learning it is patience. Not really a game for people not need a strategy but it does provide enough to keep you intrigued. Resource management, customization of troops, and increasing difficulty makes this game a true find. Give it a chance you maybe surprised.
We really enjoy this game and the global scale of the world and how you try and control the outbreak saving people that can possibly help you against this zombie outbreak. It’s truly awesome how you go from a tactical world map to tactical squad based gameplay and how customizable and well designed the game is. The blood is great the possibility of people dying makes it that much more intense as you rush to save the world from a uncontrollable infection and having to work with country’s all over the world map to help you build alliances as you may have to attack other country’s as well as trying to clear this crazy outbreak. Managing your money can help you a lot and saving lives you can then hire new researchers and other useful people that can help. Building and modifying your own mobile base is awesome as well as having to buy equipment and manage your base staff and Soldier squads. Best $2.99 we’ve ever spent for a game.
We have decided to fix our review and five this game five stars. The last time we reviewed this game, we gave 4 stars instead of five because the marine AI was sooooo bad (lol). The AI has since been cleaned up, the controls feel more responsive (this might be because we have an iPhone 6, not a 4) and the dev has added more stuff to the game. We commend the dev for this game and we hope he works on the game even more. Keep up the good work!
Great game love it and deserves more attention.
We have bought/downloaded/played just about every Zombie genre game on the appstore from TD to strategy to shooter, though our personal gaming tastes tend more toward strategy and realism/immersive, and WOTZ definitely fills that bill, along with just being an awesome game! We guess this game is a hybrid strategy/rpg/tactical game if you wanna shorehorn it into a category; we love it though its one of the few games that stay permanently on our iPhone! In fact we keep this app and Rebuild 3 (a completely different type of RPG/Strategy Zombie genre game that we likewise recommend) on our iPhone to get our Zombie Apocalypse fix regularly… At any rate this app is totally bugfree, only takes up a minimal amount of memory, and most importantly is fun! We find myself constantly saying to myself "just one more turn just one more mission" Worth the asking price and then some… You’ll find yourself thinking of the excellent flick World War Z as you play it, but the game is alot better even!
The turrets on the tanks and apcs and jeeps are super slow and tend to glitch.

We know this may be kinda hard but could u add a view from a marine like a camera on his shoulder? That would be rly kewl.
It takes skill to play this game its millatry based and the most hardest puzzles like what to invest in or what city to save.
It’s fun but we get a lot of errors with infrared and the b2 spirit is a lot more than we can ever save and we should be able to make jets fly out of fob bases there’s our un punctuated rant.
It’s a good time killer, makes you use your brain to learn how to play the game past the basics, love that.
We thoroughly enjoy this game. It’s surprisingly deep, and well made. We’re looking forward for all their future updates. We would like to see some win/lose outcomes for the global humanity counter. Perhaps others independent organizations trying to get salvage and/or fight you. Still, a very strong title! We highly recommend it!
It’s a good game, but what annoyed us the most was the path finding, sometimes our soldiers would get stuck and we wouldn’t notice and they would end up dying, or zombies would get stuck and we would have to run across the map to kill it.
We usually don’t write reviews, but this game deserves an awesome one. The fact that it’s not in the top 10 games on the App Store is a travesty.

More weapons Lowered cost for the bomber as it is near impossible to earn money More requisition requests Multiplayer maybe would be interesting Maybe a sort of tower defense builder where you can build a city’s defenses which will slow down the rate it is overrun at.
This is the best zombie game in the App Store, except one problem, after about 3-5 safe team missions it won’t allow us to go on anymore.

The new update made the screen so dark on all the missions you can’t see anything. Hopefully it’ll get patched one day so we can play it again?
This game has had some growing pains but is so great now. We’re very impressed that the developers have been regularly releasing updates and constantly improving things. Fantastic gameplay now, we can’t get enough!!
This game is great and the idea of it is awesome as well. The only problems we have are the repetitive gameplay. Same maps over and over and over again. Then the fact that when you got save a country they try to sink your ship. We understand the diplomatic relations in this game but being bombed while trying to save the world is kinda frustrating. These few things and the fact that the game seems impossible from the first few minutes of playing. We don’t wanna play a game that we know we’re gonna lose. Yea the zombies get overwhelming as they should but really this game will lead you on fighting them for hours with the end still being the whole worlds destruction.
Update please!!! Still won’t load after a few mission it goes blink black screen and won’t load at all!!!
We use to love this game…. Use to. As with most app that get ruined, this one was ruined by the alteration with the night vision. It use to be unlimited, which only makes sense. No one is going to send in a team of expensive highly trained soldiers with night vision that last a few seconds.
