Find out what gamers are saying about Way Walkers: University:

We cant wait for the author to finish this trilogy! The first of many interactive fiction games we’ve played through the App Storeand still the best. The only time we’ve actually felt an actual, non-manipulative attachment to characters. (As in not messing around with choices for the sake of them liking the MC or getting an achievement). Lots of characterization choice-and-consequence, if thats your thing. Only troubling thing is this monstrous hiatus.

We keep updated and it looks like she’s not going to finish this series any time soon. Purchase at the risk knowing the story may never be complete. Anyway, cool world and characters. The writing is a bit too flowery, and the story throws in-world terms in your face, making it difficult to follow.

In a recent update the author said they had written 50k words in the third book. Thats (if im counting correctly) over 3 years after the second book came out. Author keeps taking breaks and making excuses. Dont buy this unless your willing to never play the full story, or at the least wait a very long time for a conclusion. If you want to play this series wait for all the books to come out. Its a good story and has excellent writing, but im starting to doubt if it will ever be complete.

First, Id just like to say that most of this review is copy/pasted from our Way Walkers 2 review with some minor changes, so App Store or whoever reviews these, we swear Im not a bot, dont delete this please. So here we go. We’ve played a lot of these interactive text-based games and this is easily one of the best. From the story to the writing to the characters to the sheer amount of choices! This game, in our opinion, is masterfully written and a must-play for anyone a fan of fantasy and text-based RPGs. The one gripe we have with it is that we wish there was an option to choose your own race instead of the game automatically assigning you Human.

We can’t say enough praise for this interactive novel! The world feels wholly realized (pun intended) and the characters are interesting and have in-depth personalities. We were left caring about each one of them and truly wanting to find out more about the extensive fantasy/supernatural world the story takes place in. The way the story deals with concepts like angels/demons, the afterlife, reincarnation and psychic abilities was pure joy. The writing and story was so well done that we felt like we were actually there sharing in the triumphs and tragedies that took place. The choices were extremely well-thought out, so well in fact that we wanted our first play-thru to feel as perfect to our liking as possible so we restarted the game 7 times to fix what we felt was an "incorrect" choice for our character. There are no good or bad choices, of course, and we love that this game uses that in it’s narrative. This story has risen to our #1 favorite game from CoG & HG. It’s definitely worth the purchase and the wait until the 3rd one comes out. In the meantime, we’re buying the book!

The story is amazing and its so attaching we read for hours, enjoyed it so much we had to buy the second one.

Did a star fall or did five? :T we know we fell in love with this novel!

While we were worried that this would be some unoriginal and only slightly interesting ripoff of Harry Potter, it was much more than that. Whatever you choose actually feels impactful, and we finally feel like we’re actually ‘living out’ a story. Sequel gets the same, can’t wait for the third part.

We have been enjoying these kinda of games for years, and this is one of the good ones.

We’ve never played a CoG that had this much work and detail put into it. The choices are extremely varied and every choice you make matters, the characters are very well-made and original. We love everything about this game! It ends in a major cliffhanger, though, and you have to get another game to finish it.

Even though we literally bought this just an hour ago, we’re already in love. Out of all the COG and HG, we think Way Walkers is our favorite, and we’re not even halfway through. The characters – THE CHARACTERS Literally of all the interactive novels we’ve bought, and we’ve bought too many, we think Way Walkers has the best fleshed out characters of them all. As a visual girl and reader, we can actually get a great read on these characters; see their faces and hear their voices as we read. If you’re a fan of Harry Potter, we think you’ll love this book! After a few minutes of reading, we just got this Harry Potter vibe and it reminded us of the first book series we had ever been connected to. So, personally, we think you’ll love this story. :)

We were a bit hesitant at first to get this game, but we’re glad we did. Admittedly, the beginning is a little slow, but once you get past that part the game is incredibly fun. We’ve played a VERY large amount of interactive story games like this before, and this is definitely one of our favorites.

A very good game! The characters make you care about the story, and the diverse, interesting world keeps you interested. High replay value and diverse choices. Well worth the money.

Luv this game! We’re a huge mmorpg gamer and we luv books. We couldn’t stop reading! So many choices and so many great possibilities. Can’t wait 4 the 3rd and final book.

We love this game it is by far our favorite choice of games game. The only problem we encountered, and mind your it is a minor problem, is that we can’t figure out how to not die. However this is only a problem for three of the twelve ways. Anyways it is an amazing game.

The story is great and interesting. We would give it 5 stars if they add GC achievements.

Amazing storyline that anyone can easily get absorbed in; extremely well thought out!! We absolutely love this story!!!

Thanks for fixing the update ; ) Anyways, this has got to be THE BEST COG game we have ever played. The characters are so real and they all have their individual spark. The writing is well written and your choices actually effect the game (unlike some COG games…) this is by far the best game yet. The length is good and the storyline is intriguing. Plus, the world you play in is amazing, which makes us want mad creative skills like that. Totally a must buy.

This was a very unique story that we ever read, we love the characters and the many options we can choose from. We may even start reading it again by choosing a different path but for now we are going to continue reading on to Way Walkers 2!

We love the game. Obviously. It’s written pretty well. Interesting story. Very memorable. But we think there needs to be an option to make a character that isn’t human. Like tazu or ki’ra seems fun. We know it would be a huge update but it would make for more choices and make it more interesting. Only complaint is you have to be human.. Maybe change it for this series. Or maybe the next series you write either way. Would be awesome.

This is one of the best CoG games we’ve played in a long time. We love the fact that you aren’t OP either, you progress slowly with each choice and we love that. Inthe beginning, we’re not going to lie, we were a little suspicious about the story and if it was going to be dreary and have oh so many plot holes, but it doesn’t. There is so much depth and there are many twists and turns and a lot of small detail, but it’s beautiful. So overall, I’d definitely say it’s worth your money.

We’re not a frequent reader but… We love this story!

A lot of options for you to choose great worth buying if you want the entire series.

We absolutely loved the game. We enjoyed it and recommend it to anyone who remotely likes fantasy.

This game is really unpredictable in the beginning for example your set of skills that lets you make Pacific choices want to make in the later in the game really depends on the choices you make in the beginning but it’s really hard to get a good start and we say this because we play this games multiple times and it really hard to get it the same as it was before but otherwise very fun game definitely worth your time and money.

We have read many "choose your own adventure" books, and this is by far one of the greatest we have ever read. J . Leigh has developed an engrossing universe that is reminiscent of a time when gods embodied facets of the human persona, making the mythology even more relatable then we had expected. However, even within this very magical universe, there still exists a very coherent sense of humanity, with both it’s strengths and flaws drawn out for all to see. Mechanically, the ability to flesh out ones own protagonist (or antagonist, if that’s your style) is well made and flows perfectly well with the story. We only hope we get to see Part 3 soon enough. :) Great read, and we recommend it to all fantasy readers out there!

It’s a must play/read for those who love to make their own way through these amazing stories. The story is very intriguing and good twists to keep you wanting to read more!!!

We finally decided to put a review on this CoG to show our appreciation to the author. We’ll start by saying that the many paths you can take to shape your character and his/her relationships and abilities are pretty well thought out, and the fact that with your choice comes actual change to the story in major way or just subtly in dialog or events, this is probably the best CoG game ever, part 1 and part 2 combined set the bar really high for other games in our opinion and seeing that part 1 alone set the bar high already you can just tell that when part 2 came out the bar was set even higher than before. Thank you for putting out both stories and thank you for the message at the end, we really appreciate it. Thank you.

This really is a great game with great choices. We love both parts of the story and we cannot wait until the next part. We do have a question for those that have played the game. At the beginning of the second part it gives you the option to play as already made people that have already gone through the first part. One of the characters discovered a secret about someone when they tried out for the newspaper. We went through the first part a few more times to try to find out what that secret was and we could not find out what that secret was no matter what we did. Does anyone know what that secret is? We think the girls name was Genoa. This really is a great game and we can’t wait for more.

Love it had a hard time staying alive but still cannot wait for the sequel we cannot wait for the sequel and hopefully a chance to date sem and or jun cannot wait!

Thank you for fixing the broken game issue so quickly! Everything is great once again :)

We have never considered wanting to buy an app that requires us to read but we assure you, the concept of way walkers and the choices you decide make this app a must buy. We love this story, we love the way we get to make our character the way we want him to be through race and morality, and we love the images our brain conjures up when reading through the text of this great story. Once we started reading and making choices, we couldn’t stop and we could literally change and bend the story so that the concept doesn’t fade away but many details make it so we feel in control of our character and everything he does. This is truly a masterpiece and we give it a good rating for this one and part 2 which we’ve also read through.

We’ve had this game for awhile now but we decided to write a review because the writers/developers need to know that the update messed up the game. The update put a couple of random slides at the very beginning of the game that don’t belong there and even though we chose to be a dude the game kept us as a girl. Hopefully someone will see this and fix it Bugs still haven’t been fixed.. There was a update today, so we’ve been playing the updated version and boy.. They seemed to have fixed it! Thank you very much Hosted Games/CoG! We’ll be looking forward to any more stories you guys put out x)

The sequel is out and it’s good. Give it a shot if you liked this one.

This game has been one of our top favorite interactive novels! There are many different "Ways" and so many combos love it! And Sem! :3 P.S. Bugs have been fixed so enjoy!!!!

Allow us to begin with saying that this is by far one of the most immersive Choice of Games we have played in a very long time. If that’s not enough to convince you to give it a shot (whether purchasing directly or trying the online demo we digress) then read on. If you have ever enjoyed reading the classic Choose-Your-Adventure books, playing a Bethesda game (I.e. Fallout or Skyrim), a Bioware game (Dragon Age or Mass Effect), or any general RPG style game, you will enjoy this game. Guaranteed. On a more technical scale, the stat changes are subtle, giving this game a more realistic feeling, as in while making choices, you’re really not sure what the outcome will be. There are no "train in swords craft so our fighting will increase" versus "practice casting spells" etc. Type of choices. They are subtle and terribly immersive. At the end of this first part, we felt the same way as we’ve felt when finishing a grand novel/game – asking the Universe why it had to end. Why we had to mourn the loss of a loved… Thing. Then we hit the replay button and continued our merry way through the classes. This work, created with much love by its author, is well worth the $1.99. Do yourself a favor and treat yourself.

Really liked this game and all of the WW series! We replayed this one in anticipation for of the sequel and fell in love with it all over again. We look forward to more stories and CoGs by you!

As the above poster said we’re getting weird slides in the beginning of the game in the new update. Hopefully that can be fixed.

This is a great game; but we haven’t played in a while. We updated and didn’t recognize the story so we wanted to restart. But we couldn’t??? We can’t restart from the very beginning of the story ! Is that supposed to happen or have we done something wrong? We think the update isn’t allowing us to restart our character and the story.

The new update broke everything in the game, Jun could be a he or she, so could you because the new He/She variables are messes up. Also, the 12 ways stats aren’t adding up properly anymore.

Love all the cog games but this one falls on its face a lot. Story is amazing like most of the games but this one mixes a lot of things up. First 4 selections reappear later in game but doesn’t look to matter what you choose the first round. Then the game screws up when you pick a gender for your character we pick male since we’re a guy but most of the time the game still calls us Ms. Instead of Mr. Also some of the other characters would be called he in one part of a sentence and called she later in the same sentence. Please fix all this and it will be an amazing game like the rest of your games!

Dude, great game, but something happened when you updated it to iOS 7. All the choices are mixed up. The very fist screen ties directly into a scene from the middle of the game. Fixing this would be nice. We wanted to do another play through to refresh for the sequel.

It was good before the update but now it skips around at the begging of the story and then forces us to be a girl.

All the slides are messed up, the stats are all wrong…

Great story. Can’t wait for the next book.

Can’t wait for the second game…….

We really enjoyed this game. We like the plot and everything and we’re dying for the sequel to come out. The characters are likable and you can always go back and try for differences in the story once you finished. We finished the game so now while we’re waiting for the sequel we’re trying every possible choice we can make.

This is our first one of these books. Our daughter had heard about others from Choice of Games so she suggested this. We had no idea what we were in store for, but we loved every page. The different choices kept us guessing and the details were vivid! We’ll be checking out others for sure! Thanks…

Best choice your own adventure game we ever played. Can’t wait for the next part.

This is a well-written story with a vast world. Some of the best writing among Hosted Games.
