What Makes Welcome to Moreytown Stand Out
Claw your way to the top of Moreytown, a furry slum for human/animal hybrids. Will you take down the gangs who rule the town, or take them over instead?
"Welcome to Moreytown" is a 150,000-word interactive novel by S. Andrew Swann. It's entirely text-based, without graphics or sound effects, and fueled by the vast, unstoppable power of your imagination.
You’re a moreau: a genetically engineered human/animal hybrid, a remnant of mankind’s last war. Surviving life in a Moreytown hasn't been easy, but now, someone is out to kill moreys—unexplained fires, explosions, and the gangs swirling around the neighborhood spell big trouble for you and your fellow "moreys." It's up to you to save your pelt, and maybe take over town.
Play as one of thirteen different species, including tiger, capybara, bear, or wolf. Infiltrate a sinister cult, or ally yourself with a gang of moreys. Choose a side and let the fur fly!
• Play as male, female, or non-binary, gay, straight, bi, or ace
• Fight the police or help them to bring down a terrifying enemy
• Save your neighborhood from utter destruction
• Take over a street gang, or even run your own cult
• Explore multiple potential romantic relationships

Community Insight:
This game, well was extremely fun to play. Im a fan of text based games and this is one of the top ones Ive ever played, we hope you make more text based games like this-.
We have a lot of great thoughts but have no idea how to say them, so, here goes with what Im able to say. Lets get the, like, one or two negative things out of the way. Its to short! Its the best thing ever aside from being too short! There could also be a slightly more alterable story, which we think would best come with a longer story. Let us put something else into perspective. You are doing all of this stuff, in, oh, about one in-game week. Thats the entire span of time for the main story. We feel like there could be much more. There is potential! Now on to some of the best points: we love the characters. From David to Detective Toomy, Im kind of sad its over quite quickly. The characters developed really well, and the option to… Er… Flirt with some of them is quite interesting. Although the story as a whole isnt too impacted by your choices, all of the finer and more sensitive details are. Including your stats, which, for the first time in nearly any text-based story, actually mean something. Like we said, its sad its over quite quickly, but for what its worth, its like a good book, better even, since you can impact those finer details. Which thus allows for many rereads that are each different. Of course, all good things come to an end, and so must the story of Moreytown. We could really go on and on, but we think Ive gone on way longer than we should. For one final, sum-up opinion: it is currently and probably will forever be the best thing Ive ever done. Even with its flaws and rather short storyline. To us, way worth $3.99. 10/10 would recommend, and 13/10 would play an extended version.
This game is great, but we feel that it lacks enough options. Perhaps a non-gender conforming character would be nice, but that's just our preference. Anyway, overall a fun and captivating game.
Please make another one please we love this game to much please continue the great work.
We love this, it's a great idea but it's too short and doesn't have enough options/outcomes, but is still a good game nonetheless.
We play almost every game COG publishes, and in our opinion this one is a top tier product. Great writing, intriguing plot, and feels very REAL, despite being about anthropomorphic animals. Highly recommend it for both seasoned COG readers and any newcomers who are on the fence about text based game adventures.
This game has an interesting world build and is well fleshed out in this regard. It offers a variety of ROs and has choices that hold some weight. This game does fall victim to railroading, however the railroad gives some way to how you want your story to end. The replayability factor is moderate, enough for a few days of entertainment until you get bored and search for the next game. All in all a decent buy.
It was interesting. Im not a furry, but after watching Zootopia we thought this would be worth a shot. Its a nice read with a replay of two or three times; mostly to get the achievements.
This was a good story, other than a few typos everything else was pretty good. Very much enjoyed the story but it could've been better.
We enjoyed the game. However there wasnt too much that you could do in this game and it didnt last to long either. We think you should expand the game a bit more.
The story was very short and no replay value. We mean we read it once and was thinking "that was it?".
Don't get us wrong, we love furries and this story had potential, but we found it far too linear and a bit cliche. Just our personal opinion.
We were surprised by the amount of replayability and versatility that came with the story! Designing your own character changes a lot.
Most fun we've had with one of these recently.
We were starting to loose hope of reading a new "CoG/Hosted" story, that was well written, engaging, and one in which your choices actually had a purpose in the creation and journey of your character (we have read some new ones that were horrible)!! This little unique gem gave us hope that their are still amazing stories being written.
All the decisions feel important and the characters are well written. A great sense of mystery and some satisfying endings. Worth the price.
We liked it a lot, but we think there should be more romance scenes.
Love the storyline and the choices you make but for some reason there's a bug, when we try to scroll down the page goes blank and we have to go to the main menu to refresh it, not the worst thing but it happens on every other page.
We like it the story provides an interesting plot with several paths. Has a good length and was well worth the money.
Ballsy subject matter, but also a very well written, mature narrative. High replay value. Recommended if you're okay with the furry contents.
We like it. We really feel like we have a choice in what happens. It also keeps you interested.
