Been playing for years and havent tired of it yet. Love the quiet interface; just the words without silly animations.
Played years ago, now playing again.
We purchased this game on June 12, 2010. Yesterday, December 5, 2022, we completed our 1,000th puzzlesame game without stopping first on an iPod Touch (remember them?) and then continuing on at least five different iPhones through those years. First, a big thank you to the developer for continuing to support this game for so long! You are a rare find. Second, we love to do one or two puzzles on this every now and then (obviously). We are so glad there is no timer or punishment for incorrect guesses. We have enough pressure in our life and dont need stress from our games! Third, we love the fact this works with no internet or cellular connection. Many games crash out when you cant get a signal! We have used this app deep in the woods and way up in the sky on an airplane over the past 12 years. It does not matter if that dreaded NO SIGNAL message appears; this game works like a charm. Fourth, thanks for having the dictionary so easily available. We feel like we continue to discover new words when we think no word can fit in alphabetically, but one does! We have taught high school English for years and continue to learn new words. Thanks again for what we would say is just about a perfect game. (I guess we sometimes wish we could add our own six-letter words, but no big deal.) THANK YOU!

Yep. That pretty much sums it up. We’ve had a lot of fun using the abridged word list so now we’re rocking the tournament one. This is the only game that offers two word lists in the options and you end up with massive amounts of puzzles between the two of them. We’re getting better at scrabble and actually beat our husband for the first time! He’s a walking talking encyclopedia but lost gracefully. There are words in it from different religions such as Christian, Judaism, Budism, Islam, etc. If you are closed-minded, a bigot or a racist then you will be just as offended by this game as you must be by the common dictionary. But if you just want to have fun exploring words, than youll love this game!
We have been playing this for years. We also love that the game will provide the words definitions.
We have had this app through multiple generations of iPhones and still play it regularly. We like that it has no trouble remembering where you left off. Our only complaint is frustration with a number of words it has omitted from its dictionary.

We’ve had this game since it first launched on the App Store It never disappoints! Amazing range of words. We’ve read some of the reviews that some words dont come up when spelled… Its not that the game doesnt recognize the words, its what words were preselected for that particular game. Also, someone had mentioned the words are not of any language. NOT TRUE!! Try tapping the word that you couldnt figure out. The dictionary will explain the word. Clearly this is an ALL LANGUAGE word game. On top of that, add in medical language. We absolutely love it!!!
The only thing that would make this game better would be to add current game statistics to the bottom of the records. It would be easier to see how much further you have to go before you make the top 5. GREAT GAME!
This game is the BEST! Simple, no ads.
We used to play another game faithfully- but recently we have been horrified at some of the violent and inappropriate ads we saw while playing that game. It was counterproductive to the very reason we were playing the game! – Which is to relax and have fun! Whirly Word allows us to do just that. We love it and appreciate it SO MUCH!

Hi Devs, we have a SS of our game and we spelled Venus and it wouldnt accept it. Why is that? We play this game everyday and sometimes our spousal unit cant help joining in. TIA!

The game is fairly solid, and we’ve had it for nearly ten years. However, we do find the dictionary to be overly prudent at times, and capricious with the slang and abbreviated versions of words it chooses to include. Im all for it being family friendly, but theres times where we just seems unreasonable.
This app is great way to pass the time while waiting for whatever, however it does tend to use some obscure words and throws in quite a few acronyms that it counts as words. It is a good to build vocabulary in any case.

Yes, it can seem repetitive, but it is an interesting way to spend a few idle minutes. Our biggest complaint is that it includes words from other languages, such as monetary units, foreign guides or nurses and nannies. These rarely are used in common speech unless one is actually in that culture. As such, we would argue that they are in fact not english words and therefore should not be included in the game.
… We wish this lovely game had levels or things to earn or maybe hints. It is one endless game with no breaks. We get addicted now and then but our need for that serotonin part sends us wandering.
We dont know what it is but we will select a word, hit enter and it isnt committed and when we move to the next puzzle there is it as a word we didnt guess. Annoying. Lots of valid words that should be in the abridged dictionary. Puzzles are repetitive, same word scrambles over and over. A definite lack of variety.
Many misspellings, nonEnglish terms rarely used, many Muslim terms, indicating an illiterate Muslim created WW. Still sometimes fun. Open mind needed.
Please update. We like this game but we believe it has been abandoned by the devs.
We have been playing Whirly Word for a long time and we still enjoy it. Some of the words however don’t always follow a consistent pattern. For instance sometimes it will allow slang and other Times it will not. Sometimes it will allow non-English words and sometimes it won’t. Overall it’s a great challenge and a lot of fun.
We really enjoy this game. We get a kick out finding all the words..
This is A great fast game to play to pass the time. Keeps your mind sharp. Wish some of the words were more relevant to today, and this country for that matter… But we have learned a lot of new words and what quite a few very old ones mean.
Games for the phone can be short lived. This has consistently been on our phones for years. It’s simple and takes up very little power.
We have loved this game for quite a few years but now we love it even more. Thank you, thank you, thank you for letting us play this in landscape mode on iPad. We are a retiree and play this game at least once a day to (hopefully) help keep our brain sharp and Im sure its helping.
We really enjoy keeping our brain engaged. This is not the easiest thing for us, but we work on it for awhile and then come back later and am amazed at how many more words we find. Our grandkids like to work on it too. Thanks!
Love this game, keeps the brain busy, but relaxing at the same time. Would love more variety of music tones and colors though. But in all, great pass time game.
