Community Insight:
We read previous reviews most dated a year ago. Ive been playing this one and see that a lot of the complaints have been fixed. So far it is very fun. We had one scene upside down, but thinking it was intended to be that way. We were confused at first, but it worked out.
No stars for this one. Week story, no teleport but what's the worst is 5 to 10 seconds to load scenes. Didn't finish it due to boredom waiting for scenes to load. Definite don't buy. We want a refund.
Overall we liked the game. We saw some other reviews who hated the imp- we didnt mind him. There were a few glitches that drove us nuts – almost any puzzle involving clicking and dragging was buggy, some manageable others we were clicking and dragging the right object to its correct place for ten minutes before it finally worked we almost threw our iPad across the room. But fix those and you have a great game.
The story is pretty much the same as others in the series but some pretty cool mini puzzles and not many that are tedious. Our only problem is in the HOPs. It was quite difficult to connect two pieces on the iPad, often taking more than 10 attempts to get the moveable object placed exactly right.
We enjoyed the game and it was one that was a little longer than many. The only issue we had that we dislike is there are times where you dont know where you should be going next. There is a scroll that is supposed to keep you on track but it often gave the big picture goal so was not always very helpful. We find this type of problem in many of these games. Should have a few people not involved with the making of the game and let them play the game and it seems it would be apparent the issues that are a problem. It would be more fun to be on an adventure that we know what move Im going to need to make rather than guessing at it or using the map to help find where we should be going next.
We thought the plot, length and puzzles/hidden object games were great. We became a little frustrated at the glitches and going back and forth between scenes. Thank goodness for the map.
We really enjoyed this game. Here are the good points and the bad point. Good: 1) There is a book which you can click to read before starting the game. The book give you the story from the previous game so you know what has happened so far. 2) The storyline is good 3) HOP and games were fun Bad: 1) Amount of time for each scene to download. Takes way too long. 2) You can click to move forward, but have to press a button to go back. Thankfully, we could move to places using the map.
We love this series and this episode doesnt disappoint. Nice story line, fun games and good HOPs. However, with the entire series, the loading time for location changes takes much away. Still worth playing.
We like these types of games. We bought a lot of your games. It was really aggravating because we had to tap on the item multiple times over and over. Plus there were certain things you tap on and would not describe to you what It was about. Especially if your there tapping. The graphic was okay. We really thought we were going to enjoy this particular game but we did not.
We could play our own music and the game had an interesting storyline. Criticism is the HOSs were too similar and too frequent. But other than that fun stuff.
WAY to slow on the loading between scenes and trying to place most of the objects were VERY frustrating! GRRRRR.
Too slow loading scenes. Not their best game by far.
Game was okay, as far as we could play it. Played with no problems off and on for two days and then got "profile is corrupted" and had to start all over. Imp is annoying but not a dealbreaker. Things got a lot better when we found the map and could use that (yep, it teleports). Hidden object games weren't bad and the matching game was fun for a break. Didn't love the puzzles so skipped a few. Might be okay after the glitches are worked out, so we give it a 3.
We had to skip puzzles because it was so hard to select and move objects. And if an item is hidden you shouldnt get a fractured screen when youre clicking on places where it might be. Not to mention that you can click on the correct object but not be able to select it. More frustrating than fun.
All of the game ending glitches appear to have been fixed. We made our tortured way through until the end of the bonus game, so we can attest to that. However, that doesnt mean you should buy the game. There arent many HOPs or mini games in the main game. Gameplay is generally linear and consists primarily of figuring out what item to place where so that you can progress. The puzzles that do exist arent much harder than the 9-piece jigsaw puzzles that comprise one of this series collectibles. The most difficult minigame is due to the developers ineptitude: although there are several ways to form the snake correctly according to the guide, only one receives credit. But dont let it get you down: the EXACT SAME PUZZLE is in the bonus chapter in the form of a pipeline. The majority of the HOPs in the main game are word lists with plus-items, although there are a few of the silhouette variety. The bonus chapter is one plodding word list HOP after another. You can choose a matching game instead of the HOP, but that annoyed us too: instead of taking cards away once they are paired, the game substitutes new hidden symbols. That is NOT how to play Concentration. Mastering the finicky controls may be the greatest challenge. Youll eventually get the item if you click up and to the left of where you think you should. This includes the elusive paintbrush that you must dip into glue in an infamous HOP about halfway through the main game. Collectibles are morphing items (1 per scene) and the aforementioned jigsaw puzzle pieces (1-2 per scene). You get nothing other than an achievement for getting all the collectibles. The best thing we can say about this game is that the lag that characterizes Elefun Games is a little shorter.
This game could be fun to play if you could actually plat it. Have restarted the game three times and NO HELP! Paint brush will not go into glue jar, and this is only the start! SAVE YOUR MONEY, not worth even the discounted price.
We had high hopes, but they were dashed. First, there's that annoying imp. We used the magic something or other on him and saw he was a dog. Why they didn't leave him that way, we'll never know. Dogs are cute. The imp is creepy. This game we found to be very confusing. Some things were way too simple time killers while others were much harder. We skipped a few simply because we didn't like them. Without the map we would have been completely lost. The touch was a bit off, too. Putting a bird together was simple. Trying to get the pieces to stay where you put them, wasn't. We needed the hint button way too often. We didn't enjoy this game at all.
We were really enjoying the game until we were in the prison and had to glue the hammer together. It refuses to put glue on the brush and with no way to skip the game Im stuck. Im tired of paying $7.00 for games that are full of glitches. Do the developers not take pride in their work? Looking back this has been a recurring issue for 5 years! If youre not going to fix it the game then remove the game altogether so people stop paying for a game they cant play! Its deceitful.
Thats it. Tedious. Tedious. And ….. Tedious.
Game is not bad but so many glitches and freezes. Contacted big fish and troubleshooting suggested reinstalling…double waste of time and effort as the same thing happened. Rep offered a coupon code, but not useable on iPad Pro.
Cannot paint the mask at all. No option to skip the game. So we are stuck and cont continue playing.
Cant get glue on brush in the prison. Highly annoying. Cant finish game.
Loading was very slow. We could not finish the game because we could not glue the hammer together. Waste of money. We restarted the game three times and still unsuccessful.
Game was ok until we arrived at the part where you have to glue the hammer together. Unable to get the brush to pick up any glue from the pot. Very frustrating. We see that this has been an issue for two years. We guess the devs dont care.
Try to purchase this game but got a message saying that this item is no longer available. Why have the free trial when you cant purchase it.
We got to the point of the prison and could not get the glue on the brush to glue the hammer together to get the cash bag. Would get frustrated and leave the game. We would come back hoping it was just a glitch at that time, but it kept doing it. We enjoyed the game up until that point.
Game gets stuck half thru, can't move on.
Every time we restart this game, it tells us that a file has been corrupted and we have to start from the beginning!! We have bought many games and have never had this problem. And we can't figure out how to get our money back.
We agree with other reviewers. Slow loading pages. Right now we're stuck in a hidden object scene where we're suppose to glue a hammer together to get the final object. Been trying for two days and can't get the paint brush in the glue bottle!!! So frustrating. Sorry we purchased this one.
