Hear from the Players – WitchSpring Reviews

Find out what gamers are saying about WitchSpring:

We love the game but it freezes at the same spot no matter how many times we restart it. We are in the temple where black joe gets bigger and saves us and Im having a discussion after the battle is over. Please fix the game!!!!!

The game is good but we cant continue on the second quest after getting the King Pudding. It is stuck there.

We can deal with small glitches, like the dialogue not being entirely translated and occasionally restarting the game when it freezes on us.. And we cant do anything but restart. But, when the dialogue glitches after an important battle we admittedly get lucky in, we restart, close the app and reopen it, and its as though the battle never happened What a pain. We need a break from this game after that. We dont wanna have to fight Crown again. Who knows when else itll happen either. And this is our first run through too.. We dont know we have what it takes to see all the different endings through, though Im enjoying all the non-rage-glitchy parts of this game. If this issue which Im learning is called softlock, is fixed, we will change this to 5 stars and recommend to friends, since they enjoy similar games. Im glad Im starting off with this one and look forward to the next WitchSpring games we play, since certainly theyre better than this. Less glitchy.

To the Developers – please fix the soft lock issue. So the game soft locks when trying to advance from one text box of dialogue to another by touching the screen. You, CAN, avoid this by specifically touching the skip button on the text box that causes the soft lock. However it is just easier and safer to just keep touching the skip button until the event with that specific character is over. Here we will give a list of the events we have encountered the soft lock issue. 1-Ralph the merchants second request activation. 2-1st encounter with Crown 3-1st encounter with Luna 4-In Vavelia, post game, Michelle, BE CAREFUL, The soft lock happens on the 1st text box. 5-Gold Kiwi event, after giving it, spring water out of rock. 6-Rivia, after one defeats her. If the Developer sees this, please consider fixing this issue, it makes most people quit playing and miss out on an actually good game. This game is good for only 2 dollars. Grammar problems aside, the game play is fun once you understand it, and figure out what you need to do, what materials to gather, how best to upgrade your stats so that you can advance the plot. To new players, be patient, the game has its flaws but its beatable and if you give this game a chance you might like it.

The 100 day limit is the worst thing about this game. Its completely idiotic and unnecessary. Came here from witch spring 3 expecting a good game and got majorly disappointed.

This game is honestly the most fun we have had with an iOS game to date. The graphics and art style are enough to give you a cavity. The story is cute even if the translation is a bit off. The gameplay makes you think and harkened a bit to SNES era Zelda with more modern trappings. We recommend this to anyone that wants a well developed adventure game at a steal of a price.

We absolutely adore this game! It’s super fun and the storyline is great! However, no matter how fast we go, we can’t seem to get very far into it because of the 100 day limit. We think you guys should add a continue story feature at the end so people can keep playing and not have to start over. Other than that this is one of the best games we have ever bought!

It’s a grindy RPG. For a mobile game, it’s almost criminally overlooked, despite its flaws, and there are a lot of those. In any case, it’s fun. Controls are wonky at first, but you get used to them. We ended up using the same control scheme for the sequel, despite how weird it is. It seems intuitive at first glance, you know, tap the screen, and the protagonist moves there. Hold to keep moving, etc. The isometric view makes it a bit sensitive in some bits, though. Combat is simplistic. At its core, it’s just your stats against the enemy’s. There are no heals, the physical attack is garbage, (which is understandable, we suppose. Still annoying that it basically invalidates the entire point of the strength stat, though.) and your choice in spells usually comes down to which of your spells does the most damage. Pets are the only way to effectively change your build. Some pets are full combat, and some affect combat in some manner. They’re pretty intuitive, all things considered. The translation is almost laughably bad. It does get the point across, but the sheer number of grammatical or spelling errors still hurts. Plot-wise, this game is solid. It has quality world building, character development, and even a selection of endings. Most of which are surprisingly melancholic for a game that usually stays light-hearted. One of the things that peeve us a bit is that the game enforces a time limit of 100 (in-universe) days on the player. This is a grinding game. Sure, the story justifies it (kind of, we don’t remember if they gave a reason why the springs shut down. The game just kind of tells you they do after 100 days.) but all the time limit does is punish bad players. A New Game+ kind of deal would help immensely in this issue, but since that’s not a thing, our point stands. That’s not to say the game is as difficult as we make out, per say. We finished it comfortably within 80 days, most of which was spent bumbling around, lost and confused. The game does give you some serious power boosts as you go through the story. Won’t really stop you from getting your butt handed to you on a silver platter, though. At least, not until you get the auto-revive robes. Those are a godsend. Game’s good. If you can handle a bit of pressure, and you are interested in heavy grinds, good plot, and good characters, check this game out.

This is a very cute exploring rpg with turn based combat and crafting. Our complaint is we are on day 11 and still not much is going on, it seems slow to start and we’re starting to get afraid we will be at about the same point by day 100. It’s weird you don’t get experience in combat. You get experience by training at home and that takes up so much time we are worried to waste all our timetraining and have none left.. Don’t get us wrong this is a great game, just a bit confusing as we have never played an rpg with a time limit before.
