Word Tiles is a single-player word tiles board game, similar to many others (compare to games like Scrabble or Words With Friends). Since you play against the computer, there’s no need to wait for your friends to make a move. Play as fast and as often as you like!
While playing you can zoom in or out to adjust the size of the letters on the board. You can flip through a list of all words played and how much each was worth. You can also see how many potential points a move is worth before finishing your turn.
Unlike physical board games, Word Tiles has no limit to the board size. You can the computer can keep adding words to the left, right, top or bottom as long as there are letter tiles remaining.
You can also return to the main menu at any time and adjust the computer’s intelligence setting. There are five computer intelligence levels to choose from. When you complete a game, a record of the score is placed in a journal so you can track your progress as you improve.

This is a great game for keeping the old brain engaged. The Normal level is good for quick games. The Snobby level is very good for increasing language skills. Beware, it’s not that easy at that level. Challenging at all levels.

We have won a few times, so it is possible to win over the computer. It can be frustrating to not win as much as you want but you can always opt out of playing and just start a new game. It’s challenging but that what we like about it.
3rd review: Finally caved and updated with most recent update. Thought it might be chock full of adds and detract from the game-and guess what? It was and it did. WAS such a great game-now you’re no different from the other money hungry pig developers. And it’s also very glitchy. Must be the ads, huh? Thanks for nothing. We’re adding to old review below-latest update disconnected our pass option. Now when we have one or two letters left that won’t play, it won’t let us pass & finish game. PLEASE FIX-was so enjoying this game, now you’ve given it a glitch. Really enjoying this one-like not having to wait on friends to play. Computer player is challenging and smart. Suggest you add a you won/you lost aspect to it-are you trying to save our feelings? This one is truly fun for wordsmiths-thanks!
We have this game on both our iPad & iPhone & we love it! We’ve always been a word game person and we really enjoy playing with a computer opponent whose intelligence we can regulate. This is VERY addictive! Thank you! We love the new improvements, especially being able to look up meanings of words. They stick in our memory better!
We are addicted to this game. We love it. We’re glad there is no clock ticking when it is our turn. We always try to use our high score letter tiles on extra point squares. We don’t like to discard tiles – part of the challenge is to use whatever mess of letters we have.

Better than Scrabble in that the computer does not put out words we never heard. We do miss the blank spaces. It’s more of a fair playing ground, and you have a much wider canvas to find a place for your word. Plus the computer (who has a sense of humor) talks to you, which is really cool.
Love the game, but don’t like the use of abbreviations. Some of those are not in any dictionary!
Great game. Only problem it gives you either to many vowels or consonants , sometimes difficult to make words.
We used to love to play scrabble but sometimes not so lucky with the people you find online. Love this alternative!
This is a very challenging game! It does take the computer a long time to play but it gives us the time to plan our next move. Our only complaint is that the computer ALWAYS wins, we would like to win every once in awhile!
This is an interesting and funny and then we found myself talking back to our computer competitor. We like the short messages from the computer when it’s trying to think of a word and it makes you. Nice game keep up the good work.
We loved this game until we realized that the computer plays words that don’t exist… Or at least don’t have a definition. You can select words from the played words list & look them up. So many words the computer plays don’t have definitions on the 7 sites the game links to!

This is the best game of this type that we have found to date! We think we have played every day since we downloaded it. We would gladly pay for an upgrade if it was available to get rid of the constant pop up ads during gameplay. The annoying ads are the only reason we’re only giving it a 4 star rating now. Otherwise, no complaints! Thanks!

Like the game but why is the background so dark that you can’t see the squares that have letter and word extra points First time we played we didn’t realize these squares were even there.
Very fun- complaints are that the computer cheats and uses fake words while often not allowing our real words- also, computer sometimes takes too long – over a minute and more to lay a word. But we love the challenge of vocabulary!!
Very fun but the computer rejects some of our words and uses a lot of two letter words that are not real words, and it is sloooowwwwww.

We find the game fun and challenging, but waiting for the computer to take its turn can get annoying as it always says the same thing while its "thinking". That’s the one complaint we have other than that it’s fun and it’s a great to challenge your brain.

We find this game challenging and fun- the different levels will be great as we hone our word skills! But- the delay, and constant, identical computer comments while the app "thinks" can be annoying. We are proud when we beat the computer! It’s hard though. We wish we could add words to the dictionary, that we know are in other dictionaries. But otherwise, great fun!
Good off-line alternative to Words when you can’t get wifi; clever with all the cliche comments made by the computer when it’s thinking, like, "You can’t believe the letters we’re stuck with!" and "Don’t rush us!" Also has an unlimited game board, so you can keep playing in any one direction.
Fun fast game and the computer doesn’t cheat!
Word Tiles is an easy to learn word game played against the computer. Similar to Scrabble and Words with Friends. Much easier to read on the iPad rather than iPhone. Go at your own pace and levels, from easy to very challenging games.
We got it via a newsletter for the parent company, & we can see myself playing it at intervals now & for a long time, but when we do, we will play it when our wifi is down or after we temporarily turn off wifi so that we don’t have to look at the interfering and endless adverts at the top, which we get tired of seeing every day, especially the one for that ridiculous & violent, as we see it, Game of War, which will never, we repeat, never be on our IPad.
