"Zombie Exodus: Safe Haven" is a series of thrilling interactive survival-horror novels by Jim Dattilo, where your choices control the story. It’s entirely text-based—without animation or sound effects—and fueled by the vast, unstoppable power of your imagination.
Customize a character using a variety of professions, backgrounds, special challenges, and skills to survive in a brutal and chaotic city as the Zeta virus spreads. Will you be an honorable soldier, searching through neighborhoods to aid survivors? Or will you be a ruthless bandit who loots and robs others for needed supplies? How about a paranoid hacker, psychopathic con artist, pragmatic scientist, or idealistic teenager? Dozens of options allow you to play the character of your choice.
Set in the "Zombie Exodus" world, the first part of "Safe Haven" focuses on the first few days of a viral outbreak which changes the infected into mindless zombies. Make a few episodes free then we can really experience it and probably will wanna pay for it.
We absolutely LOVE this game. We’ve been playing it since it first came out. It has been worth the wait times. You can just tell how much passion and care was put into this project by how immersive and extensive it is. We can literally sit and play this game for hours. There really is no other game quite like it out there. Jim Dattilo is brilliant.
Good game but we paid for the chapters and it never gave them its been 4 months.

We cant get enough of Zombie Exodus, that we keep replaying it each time Im done haha. We are eagerly waiting for Pt4 of Safe Haven. What masterpiece honestly.
Holy Jesus, this game is just something else in the best way possible. It feels like a hyper-stylized DnD campaign with lots of choices and outcomes to any situation. However, there are a fair bit of bugs. Lets start with the positives Positives: The story is super immersive and well-written, the characters are really solid, (Even the most dull characters have some personality,) there are multiple groups you can ally with or go to war with, and the way things play out are mostly up to youwith a few notable exceptions. Speaking of which Negatives: The scripted deaths harm replayability. No spoilers, but some characters you cant save no matter what and its really annoying. There are a fair share of bugs, but theyre all in the text. I.E, a dead character dancing with a living character. Suggestion: CRAFTABLE. ARMOR. Stuff like sheet metal vests and stuff like that would help immersion. All in all, this game is great and worth the 16 or so dollars for all three parts. Cant wait for part 4!
This has to be one of our favorite games of all time we havent been able to stop playing, we just have one suggestion at the beginning of the game when were customizing our character is there anyway we can customize our characters, height, and build? We know we get an idea of what height and build everyone is, so we were just wondering if it be possible to do that for the mc?
We’ve had Zombie Exodus: Safe Haven for years now. We’ve played since before the second part came out and only just now got back into it a year after the third part was released. We love just how detailed everything is, from the character description to the choices themselves and the effect is has on your gameplay. Its all so well put together. There are typos here and there, but its nothing crazy. We really do hope this game keeps getting attention and updates because its something we always come back to. Im excited to see what part 4 will have in store!!

A great player choice game and we had a ton of fun managing the world and survivors aswell as our own character. Would definitely recommend.
Good writing, good characters, only have run into one bug where you couldnt build a watchtower on the north side in chapter 3, only wish is that you do more defensive builds so theres more to gathering materials for it. Sides that love the game.
This game/app is amazing. We loved it so much so far. The game writing is spectacular and the replayability is very high. And the story bends and fluctuates to your choices seemlessly. Yes, we will pay the money for the next chapters and future to come. Our only concern, is that sometimes when a big incident occur, the writing or scenarios dont fluctuate all too much. Other than that, we love it. You guys deserve this rating. From us at least.

Great text-based game! We love the storytelling and it feels like your choices matter, while there also seems to be some randomization to keep you on your toes. The system for upgrading your character is not overly complicated, which we appreciate. One note for developers: there were a few times when the game just lost our progress and we had to restart. We learned that creating save points is key. However the save points are so spread out it took a lot of time to retrace our steps. More save points please!
We played through this game so many times we’ve lost count. We’ve played as every character possible and some custom built characters. Your choices as well as how you built the character youre playing as truly effects not only the outcome of the game but the game itself. We cant imagine the amount of time that went into this. We’ve spent countless hours with this story. Really good game! Awesome!!
Its been two years since we last re download this game and we’ve bought the full everything. We wish we had more time to build up the camp, we had so many plans but not enough time to slowly prepare for them. We have a nephew which we consider our son so we were hoping to make a little shelter for children to learn like how normal people would go to school. There is so much potential and if it cost that much then Im willing to go over 20 bucks easy for the extended effort, maybe more who knows, its just that interesting.
This is our first willing review. We think this game is fantastic there are so many decisions that it makes you feel like you are actually in the game. The game is thought provoking and overall a must play for those who like to be immersed in a game.

Skills are not abundant u cant have the skills u want so u have to pick violent skills or u could die u cant be smart and be tough at the same time or u will have to pay more money.

This game was amazing it was interesting we only wished it didnt end how it did or even at all it was so fun we would recommend this to everyone who likes zombie games it only has one downside it kinda ended poorly but other than that it was great we love this game.
Its really great but there are some things that can help it grow as a game like adding more criminal paths at the beginning like being a prisoner or a teen in juvie and escapes when the virus started and it would be pretty cool if you had more customization options like age or how tall and the personality so it adds a little more background then you could grow as a person or stay the same and the choice to leave the group and try to make it on your own.
Great app. Theres just a glitch when you play as a college student, and if one of your challenges is having a pet, it wont let you train them.

We recently restarted with a new character but every time we exit the game and come back, it wont save the new game we created and we have to start all over again. The only game it saved was the one we started out with initially. Please help!
Through the prologue and chapter 1 we got real excited about the game. We were enjoying it a lot. Then we found out it was gonna be 4.99 to continue playing. At least the beginning is fun.
We love the game, but then we purchased part 2 and 3, but it wants us to repurchase it now.

Says you can play the first chapter for free, but if theres a way to do that then we cant find it. Tried resetting our progress, thinking maybe we had already played the first chapter. But no success and we dont have any achievements, so dont think we’ve played before. If theres a way to play the first chapter for free, they make it hard to find. From other reviews seems like a money grab. Its too bad cause we usually love this type of game.

We dont think we’ve ever written a review before, but wow, we are extremely impressed with this game. We really have been unable to put it down, and cant wait for the next chapters to drop. The replay ability is so high, Im already thinking through what our next character can be like. Thank you for this game!
Love it. Only complaint is that the game definitely needs some manual saves or checkpoints/quicksaves along with being able to delete some previous saves as well. When you click the arrow to go back to the main menu, sometimes it doesnt let you continue your progression if you dont have a Chapter Save. For example in part one and in chapter three, you go back to the main menu accidentally pressing the back button or closing the app, the game doesnt save your progress when you press Play. Really frustrating having to replay all the progress youve done. But other then the tweaks that could be made, the characters all have their own personalities and quirks. The inventory system is a very wide assortment and well-recorded and the plots involved are super easy to get into. Legions above the first Zombie Exodus as everything improved and the romance options are also well made. Well done Jim Datillo and Choice Of Games. Just needs bug fixes and fleshing out.
Its a very good game! We like it a lot. Idk if this is where you report bugs but we did have one issue. We were flirting with rachel and then rachel came up and asked what was going on between us and rachel? It was a little confusing. But apart from the odd spelling error we think that the game is very detailed and captivating. We saved up as soon as we heard the 3rd part was coming out because we knew it would be locked behind a pay wall. It is a bit frustrating seeing as we had to already spend a lot of money to get to part 3. However this may be someones source of income so we understand. Plot and variations in said plot are 10/10. We think it would be a lot better if you could purchase the entire series straight out while also giving people the option for paying as they go.
We loved the first part of the story but now Im mad im teenager and we cant pay for the chapters we know how business works but maybe have a free main story but have payed side content. Because most people get this game not knowing that you need money but we would love it if you did that . But thats how business works. Would be a ten out of ten just try to get money before playing.
Good lord the prologue goes on forever and then the actual first chapter with zombies in it ends after two pages and one decision. Game had us spending forever just building the character only to hold it hostage without showing us how the zombie portion and gameplay actually plays out. That’s messed up.
We like the game but we want part 3 to come out.
We love the story but we wish there was an option to delete old saves that we dont use anymore. We have so many old character saves from over the years that we dont use anymore and we would like to have the option to delete them to clean it up. Too many saves looks messy and unattractive.

We love this game The characters are so complex & the story is really well written. This is one of our favorite visual novels. Im just waiting for the new chapters.
The storylines are captivating and intriguing. They all draw you in and build your attachment to different characters. The writing is fantastic. The replay value is endless. Our only complaint is that there are 100 parts to this story for us to enjoy.
We started reading this around when it first came out and we’ve been waiting for over 2 years for the next part! Id really like to continue on with our story!
