Player Experience Highlights

Community Insight:

If you get stuck in these games, they were produced for the original Nintendo Game Boy in North America, so you should be able to find instruction manuals for them online. We only had part 2 on Game Boy, so part 1 was a new experience for us. We didnt play the zombie class, and we had to look up how to develop the humans, which is unusual by Final Fantasy standards. Overall, its a fun title, although the way the tree is organized can be a bit confusing. Part 2 more closely resembles a typical Final Fantasy title, in that humans progress in level simply by battling rather than through potions. This wasnt an issue in the first game, but we dont like how variable the mutants magic is, given that you can spontaneously develop a weakness for fire, for example. Still, a fun title. Part 3 does what no other 8 bit or Game Boy Final Fantasy title did. It allows you to jump over npcs when they get in your way! Too bad Square didnt think of this sooner. The battle dialogue is very similar to the barely worth mentioning Final Fantasy Mystic Quest, which makes us wonder if they had the same creative staff. This title more closely resembles a regular Final Fantasy game than the other two in the series, with the caveat that the equipment system is more confusing than any Ive seen from Square. The storyline is hard to follow as well, as it begins as a time travel plot then shifts to a world travelling/interdimensional one. We enjoyed the third installment of Legend the least.

We were a young nerdy boy with no friends but we had the OG huge gray gameboy and all we did was play these three games. Idk who decided to do this release, but we cant describe how grateful we are.

A perfect port. Very satisfying for old school gamers like ourselves. Such a complex and interesting series of rpgs from so many years ago. Well worth the price.

Not very often that something like this comes around. One could spend years and potentially hundreds of dollars trying to find these three games in their original format. Or, one could simply drop a $20 bill and get this. The choice is a no-brainer. We loved the original Legend and beat it, but in time lost it. Couldn't find a copy for almost 20 years before we found a retro junk shop that had it. We were later able to find the second game in the same shop. Never could find the third. And they probably would have charged a small fortune if they had it. Now that all three games are on mobile in one neat package , players should not need to struggle to hunt down physical copies. What you see is exactly what you're going to get. All three games, unadulterated, right down to the Nintendo branding on each title. Any JRPG fan wanting a change of pace from the bog standard would do well to look here first. For anyone else, the price is super nice. You just can't lose.

Made the jump from switch very smoothly. The only thing Im wishing was implemented was cloud saves like most other Square mobile games. For an RPG Id wish that'd be present here as well so we dont have to worry about losing the progress across all three games.

Good gameboy port. Feels like comfort food. Only complaint: it needs a Cloud-save option.

We play through all of these games in our childhood and we were excited to play them again on our phone, but the touch controls are so lacking so janky.

This game is clearly not the same as it was on game boy. RNG is definitely not at all Random. The same battle occurs every reload, move for move. Seems like some things got broken on the port over.

Every other FF game including all the pixel remasters so far have a cloud option except this one. We would love to play between our iPad and our phone. Hoping we missed it or it gets added in an update. Makes no sense to us.
