Realm Acts: Strategically cast powerful fire, ice, and other magic in these 2D action stages. Humans return to reclaim the realm after you conquer these stages, allowing you to begin cultivating your settlements.
New magic that was not available in the original game has been added along with the ability to dodge. Players can also attack with upward and downward motions for a more dynamic action experience. You will need every new trick in your arsenal to defeat stronger bosses at the end of the new action stages.
Realm Management: Help humanity flourish by cultivating your settlements and offering guidance. Use your miraculous powers to summon lightning and trigger earthquakes to remove obstacles such as trees and boulders that impede the growth of your chosen. Play as the Lord of Light's angel and use your mighty bow and arrows to drive back the evil monsters that prey on your people.
Protect your settlements from enemy raids in real-time strategic battles. The placement of your forts and timing of your miracles is key to achieving victory in these engagements.
Experience all-new tales of humanity's struggles to overcome their flaws and failings as they learn to love one another and together grow stronger. Altogether, these new scenarios amount to more than twice the story present in the original. Explore the vast new realm and enjoy building your settlements for longer than ever before!

Community Insight:
A fairly nice upgrade of the snes classic. Some updates since made the game more tolerable though the monster generator battles get fairly cheap and aggravating. Stages are a lot of fun as are the abilities. The audio visual end is quite solid, most mechanics are great. But without a controller the game is unplayable pretty much. No adjustment or compensation for a floating thumb due to no tactile feedback gets you killed repeatedly unable to hit your jumps attacks and dodges consistently which is a shame. Ive played other conversions of button to touch that compensate better to at least work decently.
This is a good game, but needs some more work with the controller support. Backbone support, specifically, would be greatly appreciated.
Bought this game only to find out how horrible the new gameplay scenarios (the fort and hero stuff) are, this WOULD have been a most excellent remodel of an amazing game. Id love to see a version with only the graphics and music upgraded and everything else left alone tbh. Hoped this was that game. The play control isnt great either, while were here. Butyou did do a fantastic job with everything else, and you made a remake we thought we were going to REALLY enjoy. We were, for awhile.
This remake greatly expands the original SNES version of Actraiser with more to do in the town portions and more platforming combat as well. The tower defense stages can be challenging if you dont take the time to fully upgrade and deploy your towers which should be a no brainer anyway before accepting a town siege related mission. The graphics are superb and the dialog sequences also appear awesome. Similar to the original SNES version, the game interrupts you constantly in the town portions, especially in the first level (Fillmore). We are playing without a controller, which would be more effective, but the screen touch controller is fine. However this isnt that big of a deal because our one true gripe with this game is the ease of it once you get to the second Fillmore stage. The game gives you these gems you can collect after slaying enemies in which you will quickly gain the ability to resurrect on the spot when you die. This ability, combined with powerful magic you can just spam over and over makes the game too easy. Other than that, its an epic game with epic music and an epic story. Follow maxstone9999 on YouTube for some lets play videos we are working on.
Love what they have done with updating this game. Remember playing it on snes back in the day. It has all the stuffs from the original game and added few things here and there, and quality of life changes. Graphics look super nice. Only thing missing is controller support. Hope they add this missing feature in the future, we would play this nonstop if we could use our backbone with it. Awesome game tho.
After this many years of awaiting a revival its well worth the wait. Dont listen to any negative reviews. The people behind this show true talent and add real depth to an already great game. Yuzo Koshiro also does an amazing job breathing new life into the music which when combined with the new visuals draws deeper than ever in your role as the player. This isnt your typical rehash remake but an evolution of something that is already special being made that much better and delivering an even deeper interaction and story along the way. Controller support is present on iOS and graphics look phenomenal. The only wish we had would be a way to hide or make transparent the on screen controls when playing with an attached controller. Playing without the controller also works really well for a touch screen interface, we are very surprised. Buy this game, and buy it on a console too. Support these developers so that they will bring forth even more Quintet classics.
Supports controller at launch. 5/5. Now please update the pixel remasters to support controllers.
Nice that its in there but would be good to have full support (removing on screen UI, etc).
We can confirm it has the MUST HAVE feature. Controller Support! All in all, its a good port, of a great game! Music, Graphics, and Cloud Saves. Our only complaint is when playing with controller, the on screen buttons are still visible.
This game needs controller support. Its a remake of a SNES game, to NOT have controller support is asinine.
