Slitherlink: Loop the Snake is a Board/Puzzle/Entertainment game from Conceptis Ltd., first launched in 2nd May 2013.
It’s rated 4+ and currently has 435+ ratings on the App Store.
What Makes Slitherlink: Loop the Snake Stand Out
Surround each clue with lines to form one single loop! Each puzzle consists of a rectangular lattice of dots with some clues in various places. The object is to connect the dots surrounding each clue so that the number of lines equals the value of the clue and the lines around all clues form one continuous loop with no crossings or branches. Empty squares may be surrounded by any number of lines.
Slitherlink are addictive loop-forming puzzles which were invented in Japan. Using pure logic and requiring no math to solve, these fascinating puzzles offer endless fun and intellectual entertainment to puzzle fans of all skills and ages.
The game features 2-finger tapping for quick zoom, auto complete clues setting and a link segment highlighting option to help to avoid creating separate loops. To help see the puzzle progress, graphic previews in the puzzle list show the progress of all puzzles in a volume as they are being solved. A Gallery view option provides these previews in a larger format.
For more fun, Slitherlink contains no ads and includes a Weekly Bonus section providing an extra free puzzle each week.

Community Insight:
We apparently downloaded this originally in 2014, and have played sporadically since. Its a great puzzle game, and we were very excited to finally beat all the Hard starting puzzles.
These puzzles are challenging and fun, and the concept is well-executed. The app lacks a way to keep track of What-if scenarios which Ive found to be necessary for those of us who cant keep multiple hypotheticals in our heads at once at the hard/very hard levels. We would love to see a way to mark walls with different colors, for instance, or save the puzzle state so we can revert back to a known-good state later.
This app sorely needs dark mode, as the background is completely white. In the future, drag to draw would also be nice. We pay for a new pack every week, but it would be nice if there was a large one-time option or maybe a monthly subscription for full access. Definitely a five star app if it had dark mode.
We love the ad free puzzle games. Simple, well made, and to the point.
Lots of free puzzles, works great, something different – not too easy.
So simple, easy to use, and no ads! One free puzzle per week and reasonable prices for more puzzles if you just cant get enough.
This game has simple rules, but it can definitely pose a challenge to up your logic processing. We love the puzzles, and also love that they can be reset so you can play again at a later time. Highlighting the lines to see how close you are in forming a loop is very useful. And, for us, we also really like being able to check for errors during the game.
Unlike other puzzle apps, they give us useful displays when we tap and hold. In this one, it shows us the extent of the loop on which we're tapping. They have an undo, which is also helpful. You'd think it would be obvious, but there is a puzzle app we use (by a different company) that has no undo, which is remarkably inconsiderate.
Sooo Glad we Found Them!!! Straight Up Wonderful Fuuun.
No nonsense.. No ads.. Pure fun.
Like all Conceptis puzzles Slitherlink is cleanly and robustly implemented. There is a significant help section with well thought out explanations. Each puzzle has a unique solution and CAN be solved by reasoning. We have been playing Slitherlink for months (we do the very hard puzzles) and the puzzles continue to be challenging. To our taste Slitherlink is the best in the Conceptis collection.
This one was harder for us to get good at, so it's not easy. Still working our way up to the harder ones.
Ive played this game so many times! Great time waster. Puzzles are simple in concept, but rewarding. The collections are reasonably priced, so its not a huge drain on the account.
Super simple yet also completely addictive. We like playing this in the morning – its just the right level of challenging and soothing at the same time and lets us mentally prepare for the day. We love almost all the Conceptis games, and especially love the free puzzles every Friday morning – great start to our weekend.
If you like logic games, you will like this simple game. We like to think playing it will keep our brain strong and prevent dementia.
It seems there never enough time to do anything until you discover you can toggle gridlines until your thumbs fall off.
There are some boards with multiple solutions kind of ruining the fun, but they are good puzzles for the most part.
This game is fun, but the rules are difficult to follow. We find we have to check our work a lot to complete the board.
We really love the way Slitherlinks make our brain work. Its one of the puzzles we buy packs of to try the harder variations, and we save it for last each week with the free puzzles, because its the most fun.
Slitherlink is great because of the logic involved. Unfortunately,in the Conceptis app, hard/very hard puzzles almost always get to a point where guessing is necessary.
Its really fun and addicting but there are very few free levels. We finished all of them and theres nothing else to do.
These seem to be more difficult than we thought they would be, but we think they did a great job! We really love this one.
One of our favorite non graphic puzzle game from them.
We play several Conceptis games that we love, but this may be our favorite. It took us a bit to catch on to how you play, but it was never one of those that was just too frustrating and made us want to give up. We love the design and playability of the gameIve tried a couple other apps with this game, and they were definitely more clunky. We have anxiety disorder, and we find when Im feeling especially anxious, this game is strangely calmingI think maybe its partially having something that has a predictable result.
Only feature that would be great to add is an average time needed by others to solve each puzzle.
Slitherlink is one of our favorite puzzles and this app is a perfect way to get our fix. Great interface and controls, as well as plenty of free puzzles, with lots more available with purchase.
We LOVE this game and downloaded like 20 different apps to find the one we wanted… Undo, check, square, different levels… What we were looking for was VERY specific and this app had it all*. (One suggestion might be CLEAR ERRORS ). Other than that, this app is AWESOME! Thank you so much for paying attention to the details.
We have enjoyed this puzzle by Conceptis for at least 15 years. This app is a decent digitization. We do wish there was a way to print a puzzle aside from screen shots and a way to bookmark a piece of the solution to try out a hypothesis. But overall lots of fun.
We love Slitherlink puzzles. It's implemented well with easy and smooth interaction. The only thing missing is the ability to mark a square as inside or outside the loop.
Ive only had it a few days but so far we love it. Very challenging puzzles with just enough help available if you get stuck.
We play this game quite often. Our only problem with it is that it only comes with a few free packs and free weekly puzzles. With that being said, there arent any ads so we understand that they have to make money somehow. Still super enjoyable and is a great puzzler to pass time :).
Once you understand the basic rules of where lines cannot be placed it makes it feel less daunting to complete the puzzles. We play these when we want to relax or detox from social media lately & its been really awesome to find a puzzle game that is the right amount of challenging but not overwhelmingly hard that we get frustrated. We do wish there was an option/tool to choose between adding lines and placing the X markers instead of double tapping to get to the X. Since we start the puzzles marking out where not to place a line it would be easier to be able to switch from one to the other with the click of one button instead of repeatedly double tapping, we hope that makes sense. But other than that we love this app.
We discovered this type of puzzle at a conference for gifted students and later found this game. We enjoy the challenge of trying different types of puzzles and the feature that allows us to check our work part way through to find errors. Great game.
With iOS 13, our iPad looks great. Unless we open this app, then Im blinded! With an app being so white and black, it would be really nice to have dark mode support, even just on the main puzzle.
Tap tap tap. Instead of supporting drawing the loop we need to tap on each individual loop segment. The puzzles themselves are good for computer generated puzzles, but cant compare with handmade ones.
We always play a game for a week or a month, max one year then delete it. Not this game. Its been a constant hit on our phone since we found out about it 5 years ago. Great game.
We discovered this game from Games magazine and we love it. Great online and app versions.
We came across the puzzle in a sudoku book and Im hooked. This is so simple yet so difficult (even the super easy ones!) Im glad we could find a new puzzle to challenge ourselves with. The app does a wonderful job of playability. Im not even sure they could make it better.
Been a conceptis website member for 10 years. Love the challenges and that its now portable.
The ability to use digital lines makes this game worthwhile. Saves money on erasers. Speaking of erasers it would be helpful to have an erase tool that could remove ALL lines and x's in only a portion of the board. Just a thought.
Just the right sequence of frustration and satisfaction.
This app is great fun, thought-provoking and offers SO much variety of different puzzles at various difficulty and sizes. Youll need to read the Help Menu to learn how to play. Youll want to read (we highly recommend reading) the Techniques section as well, its a lifesaver. We even wrote them down to use as a reference until we knew them by heart. We are a Conceptis Puzzles fan and this is one of our favorites.
Having fun if you have an iPad get the huge puzzels.
A nice strategy-style game. Play against the clock. You can check your work as you go or just go it alone.
Fun and easy to learn but plenty of challenge for you as you improve.
Simple to use. Good help section. Lots of free puzzles before you decide to buy more. We would like the magnifying to go 20% bigger because our fingers keep leaving xs. Also, there is a coloring method to solve these that could be added. Thanks.
Gets 5 stars for being a great app with a nice weekly feature. Cannot buy in at this price point ($2/pack) – that could get pricey in a hurry. Please make it realistic and we'll happily splurge.
As a long-time puzzler, we think this app is perfectly programmed.
Just wish there was more than one free puzzle a week after you finish the 3 free packs.
Puzzles range from ridiculously easy to very difficult. Interface is easily understood. One gripe which applies mostly to the very difficult puzzles: theres no save/restore. Sometimes you need to solve by trial and error, and it would be good to have checkpoints to go back to.
