Community Insight:
We come across this game and figured we might give it a try. After about a few moments waiting for it to download, we proceed to put on our headphones at almost full volume not knowing what to expect. When we entered the app to the menu we immediately started getting the chills. Once we got into the gameplay we were amazed about the outside effects going along with the music as we put a line through a few circles. On our first run we got almost 400,000 points. This game is for anyone and everyone! So if you are reading this, get this game.
This game is not a rhythm game, not at all. The music is fantastic and it's visually impressive. The gameplay is interesting and fun but this game is said to be a rhythm game but that is one huge lie. Still good.
We love beautiful fun music apps:(.
It might not be long, but it's always fun to play through the amazing soundtrack. The VFX are also mesmerizing.
We love it but we cant use it on our device anymore.
No..never mind…the sound works whenever it feels like.
We really loved this game and now we can't play it.It's too bad because the visuals, music, & gameplay were all fun.
Hasnt been updated for iOS 11.
Nothing musical. More like the old Pong. Remember.
Does not work on 4th gen devices.
This game has nothing to do with the music. You just move lines around and touch dots. Absolutely nothing about going along to the music.
Ok. In our first review, we said this game was terrible. We have been corrected. Once you get used to the controls, this is an amazing game. Great soundtrack, original controls, and addictive game. Definitely worth the $.
The game is awesome, graphics are great, and the music makes us want to dance! The only issue is with the learning curve (steep!) and the lack of a tutorial or intro video of some sort. Without either of those, it takes a few rounds to start to get the hang of the game. All in all, one of the most fun games we've ever played on our iDevices.
Can't wait to play this on acid it's gonna be great.
Really like the aspect of the game, hopefully we see more games like this come out.
Bought the game and soundtrack after Dodger mentioned it on Polaris a while back. Played it a few times, and honestly she's kinda right with the somewhat unforgiving gameplay part, but otherwise, the soundtrack and visuals are perfect! Please improve gameplay and lessen the difficulty, or add different difficulty modes.
This is a fun little music game. If you can figure out how to actually start the game from the home menu then you'll be fine. We give it four stars because of the learning curve and it needs more music tracks.
If you've nothing better to do, it's great for those moments in between life happening. However, musical it's not. It has music but the game in no way aligns itself rhythmically – could be a lot better.
Despite that the AppStore says, it's not a rhythm game. The game looks great and the music is awesome. However the gameplay is repetitive. Also the feedback of how well we are doing is hard to understand. We don't feel we are getting rewarded to doing awesome. Seems like there is no point to the game. It looks more like a great tech demo.
The game stays at the loading splash screen for 20-30 seconds, and returns to the device's home screen. We have never been able to play. Save your money. (iPhone 5).
We were disappointed to find out that this game would not open on our 3rd Gen Ipad. We uninstalled and reinstalled several times, but it still did not work.
This game is worth the buy. It's provided us with hours of fun and is always a joy to play! Defiantly recommend this game.
This game is great. We love it and the music is fantastic However, when we're playing and we need a break we can't seem to find the pause button??? Please put one in or make it easier to find.
Awesome gesture pattern game with a killer soundtrack. You don't have to follow the beat, but you'll find yourself doing so anyways.
A lot of fun and challenging. Well worth the price.
Great game with killer music and visuals.
If you like music, and especially techno rock, then this game is for you: great…addictive; we've only played 30 mins, and there is much to learn and many levels to go. If your don't like music or particularly techno rock, but have kids or grand kids, they'll love it! We must improve our audio equipment play-through experience, but so far headphones add to the experience, and we don't disturb the neighbors! Best $s we've spent all week. Enjoy.
This game is truly unique. Dropchord utilizes the touch controls and retina display of our iPad better than any game we've played on it before. Very fast paced and arcade-y, and with a amazing soundtrack to match, Dropchord is a amazing and unique experience.
Really fun game with some awesome beats. A little tough to play on smaller devices but works well on the iPad.
It's like the modern Rez. You really get into it. Best played with headphones.
We purchased this knowing nothing about it. We bought it because we saw who made it. Doublefine is spectacular. Everything thy touch is instant gold. We generally hate rhythm games, but this one is fantastic. Good puzzle fun great sound track. DF even managed to make a game we love in a genera we can't stand. Buy it if you like any rhythm games. Buy it if you love doublefine. And if you've never heard of doublefine, google them. Buy more of their games. They are an amazing studio. Their games have something that sadly 90% of current generation games are lacking… FUN.
This game is the tightness! Best 3 bucks we spent on an iOS app. We knew they were coming out with this game on the PC with a fancy finger gesture machine but we didn't know it was coming out for iOS. We love it! We're also a huge fan of Rez and Child of Eden.
Love the music and the visuals. If you haven't played the game before its worth checking out the tutorial first. It got a bit confusing as to how we were suppose to navigate but we got the hang of it. One thing we would say should be improved is the text. It's a little hard to read during navigation though we understand its the aesthetic of the font that helps the atmosphere of the game.
This may not be a helpful review, but the fact is, we bought this as soon as we heard about it, because Double Fine deserve all the support and the money they can get. Great studio, consistently awesome games.
The music is awesome, the game is fun. What the heck else you need besides Molly?! Awesome game.
Original, fun and addicting. What's not to like.
We are a huge fan of the visual style for this game! The gameplay is challenging but is satisfying when you successfully pull off a combo. The music is good, but we wish it was matched up a little tighter with the gameplay. Overall it is great fun on our commute.
Awesome visuals and music. We can taste the colors.
…because now we need to buy awesome speakers for this rad soundtrack! The visuals are incredible, and the gameplay is smooth as John Hamm on a particularly charming day.
We wish we could play with the official tool but this is still great! Another home run for Double Fine.
We've been waiting for this game for a little bit, and wasn't too sure how it would end up. It's pretty fun, with some great music and some great controls that work perfectly for it.
Reminds us a lot of Rez, one of our favorite games! The sound track is killer electronic bliss and the controls are intuitive without needing a long tutorial. Wear headphones for the full experience, but this sounds good hooked up to a speaker for everyone to jam out to.
On both our iPad 4 and our iPhone 5 when we go to options and set the 'Visual Quality' to anything other then standard (which looks pretty jagged and iffy) the games stutters. Which in return really kills the entire game, you know being its a rhythm game and all. Please fix it so we can enjoy this game like we know we will.
We love the style of the game. The music and visuals are really fantastic. However, we feel like this game would work best on an iPad. We played it on our iPhone and found that our thumbs would cover up important parts of the screen at times. It's also lacking progress base rewards making it less enticing to come back to over and over again.
It's pretty mediocre to us and it is repetitive. Gameplay wise.
Looks to crash at launch on jailbroken idevices.
The game is fun but in future graphics mode, the chord glitches and prevents us from playing. PLEASE FIX.
The graphics are like watching a trippy screensaver. The gameplay is repetitive and not that much fun. Feels shallow and unrewarding.
Sorry, DF. We love you guys, and blindly purchase whatever you put out, but this game is just not fun.
Good soundtrack, but the game itself is pretty weak. It's not a rhythm game or a music game. You just drag a line through some circles.
