As someone who grew up playing every Sierra and Lucas arts adventure titles, this game gets an A++++++++++. This is how the modern adventure game should be. Exceeded our expectations.
Great plot! Hard puzzles! Great voice acting (Elijah Wood, Jack Black and others). Don’t let the ‘cartoonish’ design fool you – this is one of the best adventure games we ever played. Instead of "it does not work" or "nothng happened", this game has specific answers for every action or combination of itens.

For only $.99 this was a great game, if difficult puzzles and great stories is your thing.
This game is and absolute work of art. Stunning, riveting, and fun to play, we couldn’t peel our eyes away. Talented game developers deserve much more recognition than they get after creating such a masterpiece! Overall game of the century to us!
If you game to escape and let your imagination run, these guys nailed it. The worlds are as different and diverse as you can get and yet you’ll notice little connections early on. There’s a great high concept here that pairs perfectly with what is essentially a story based and detailed escape the room puzzler… When your stumped you can jump to the other world. Before you know it, what you need to do in the world you just left will come to you. Great art, great worlds, puzzles that are just hard enough. Fun stuff! Definitely a fan!
Fun, our family can enjoy it to, so we bounce back and forth. Sometimes, you have to be very particular on we’re you touch. We touched on the right item several times and it didn’t detect it. We still have to give it 5.

Beautiful in every aspect of the game–story, art, music, scenery characters! Even the puzzles, but be warned they get MAJORLY hard in act too. It’s a game we’re going to buy for all our friends and love dearly. Please make a second game like this it’s incredible and satisfied all our needs!!!
We started to play this game on PS4 and then decided to download it on our iPhone so that to be able to play when outside our home. We liked this game a lot for its very intriguing plot and nice sense of humor of characters, especially that of Vella’s. No way we could give it less than five star as we really enjoyed it. If you like quest-games don’t think and just buy it as you will not be disappointed for sure!
We picked up this game a couple of days ago and could NOT put it down! The voice acting is excellent, the characters are engaging and the puzzles are really challenging, we’re going to gift a copy of this to our friend! Also, Jack Black is a cloud cultist.
It lasted a lot longer than we thought it would. We really enjoyed the storyline. Thanks for making a game we’re not upset about spending the money!
But we do have one tiny suggestion: could you make Gus more… Plausible? Hes sorta… Plain and bland. But its a great game! Ok thxs bye.
This was no joke the best game we’ve ever played. It had a great story and very detailed characters we’re definitely glad we bought this game.

This game left us speechless! It is the best game we have ever played, and trust us we’re picky. We spent 3 hours looking for a role playing/adventure game to satisfy our needs, and finally saw this game. The animation is incredible and the story life is fantastic. The Broken Age is like no other. We just finished it (at 3 am, it’s that addictive,) and we’re hungry for more. We really wish there was a sequel, but the ending is very satisfying. We loved the puzzles, which get harder in act 2, and we like how you can switch to Vella to Shay (((this gave us otp fan art yay)))
Our favorite game on the iPad ever. You can’t go wrong with Double Fine. We love it so much.
A coming of age tale in point n click fashion by the masters at double fine…. You should probably already have this if you’re a fan of the genre or developers… If not, we say give it a go… Lots of hours of gameplay, and you can bet a lot of care and craft went into making this.
Broken age is such a fun game!! We love that you can switch back and forth between vella and shays stories! So much fun! We would recommend it to anyone and everyone!
We did need to check a walk through a few times even with the eye system to tell us what we could interact with, but that is often true of this kind of game, and air know we are impatient so we don’t mind.
We loved every minute of this game and wish there were more like it on the App Store or anywhere, even!
It started out slow, and cheesy, which made us think, "this game is only for kids." But if you get beyond the introduction, the adventure, suspense and mystery builds with the fleshing out of both main characters and the beauty and color of the setting. Loved it.
Alright, we’ve played this before when we wasnt really about puzzles. But now we understand the things. We think Shay and Vella being two very different people who just want to do there own way of life is showing very strong character. The graphics are absolutely stunning! Cant wait for Broken Age 2 to come on mobile! Thanks devs!

This app has been pressed into our mind for ever. This game is 100% worth the money, it’s astonishing and lovely. The gameplay was phenomenal. We can’t praise this game enough. We loved it. It’s one of our most favorite games of all time.

We play a variety of similar games, and this was a standout. The voice acting, animation, storytelling, pace, and gameplay were well balanced, and the puzzles ranged from obvious to very challenging. Wish we wasnt over!

We much as we abhor the politics and practices of Tim Schafer (how do you run out of $4 million for half of your game when the original budget was $400,000?) this game was amazing. We got it during the $.99 sale and it was completely worth it. The game’s about 10 hours long and we loved the puzzles. Yes, they do get a little difficult towards the end (have a pencil and paper handy!) but we like solving challenging puzzles. The art is gorgeous and the characters are memorable and fun. This is an excellent point and click game and we recommend it for anyone who likes the genre.

When we played the game, we had tons of fun, and when we saw those credits, we were in tears! This is a game where you can relate to the characters, even though we don’t have mogs, spaceships, living yarn, and and people that live on clouds. This is a game that all ages will enjoy. We would love a sequel that gives people another game that they will remember forever. But there is one thing about this game that makes us sad, it’s because this game is great, when you play it for the first time, but when you complete it, you can’t get that same feeling of happiness because you know where to find items and how to solve the puzzles, this is why we would love to see a sequel to this, we know you are possibly working to make great games, but really, please make a sequel, it could give the people who played this game another adventure with Vella and Shay. Thanks!
This game was very entertaining. It was engaging and challenging. We never review anything but this game deserves it. Hope you have as much fun as we did.
We cannot even sum up how gorgeous and meaningful the storyline is. The graphics are absolutely stunning. And how likes leg and quirky the characters are left us speechless.(spoilers ahead) we almost cried when Gary blew up. Ok now we’re spoiler free. We’re not a whiz at these types of games like most people are, so we used an online guide as soon as we got to meriloft. (I don’t think we could have completed the game without it). Overall this is by far the best game we’ve ever played. We’re really hoping there is a part 3 in progress!
Good story, excellent voice acting, excellent art, and no major game bugs. Great old school adventure game. We were looking for part 2 after finishing it. We spent a whole day off playing this. There is a good no spoiler wiki if you get stuck.

We’ve loved all the Tim Schaefer games we’ve played, and this is right up there with the best of them. This is definitely the best mobile game we’ve ever played, and it isnt that close. It would be a bargain at $20.
Everything is so great and creative about this game – the story line, the characters, the dialog, the music. Some of the problems were frustratingly difficult to solve, but once we finished it, we were SO SAD that it was done!
The music is amazing. The artwork is amazing. The characters and their stories are engaging. The gameplay is slick. This is just an incredibly well done game.
