Tic-Tac-Logic: X or O? – Entertainment Game Review
![]()
Tic-Tac-Logic: X or O? is a Entertainment/Puzzle/Board game from Conceptis Ltd., first launched in 31st July 2013.
It’s rated 4+ and currently has 484+ ratings on the App Store.
What Makes Tic-Tac-Logic: X or O? Stand Out
Fill all squares so there are no more than two adjacent X's or O's in a row or column! Each puzzle consists of a grid containing X's and O's in various places. The object is to place X or O in remaining squares so there are no more than two consecutive X's or O's in a row or a column, the number of X's is the same as the number of O's in each row and each column, and all rows and all columns are unique.
Tic-Tac-Logic is a single-player puzzle based on Tic-Tac-Toe, a pencil-and-paper game many of us used to enjoy as children. Using pure logic and requiring no math to solve, these addictive puzzles offer endless fun and intellectual entertainment to puzzle fans of all skills and ages.
The game features a ruler to help viewing and comparing rows or columns, counters to show how many X and O there are in each row and column, and pencilmarks to place temporary X or O when solving very hard puzzles.
To help see the puzzle progress, graphic previews in the puzzle list show the progress of all puzzles in a volume as they are being solved. A Gallery view option provides these previews in a larger format.
For more fun, Tic-Tac-Logic contains no ads and includes a Weekly Bonus section providing an extra free puzzle each week.

Community Insight:
We are so absolutely obsessed with this game. Ive played every day for months if not over a year Im not even sure. We play so much that we see it when we close our eyes. Ive replayed all of the hard starter levels probably a hundred times. We are begging you pleaseeeee add more levelssss.
Great puzzles. We appreciate the pause button.
Such a simple game to learn yet a pleasure and challenge to play, particularly on the more difficult levels. A game we keep coming back to even after years of playing.
This is very unique and engaging!! Have spent countless hours on this game.
Loved the game and was able to learn it better throughout the process of playing. Sad thats theres only a limit of levels but we enjoyed the game regardless. Hope to see more possible levels in the future but for now Ive finished the game. Very nice game.
Best puzzle game. Took us a bit to really get it. Now it's we've of our favorites.
We stumbled upon this puzzle game and am so glad we did. Its fun and challenging, we wish there were more free levels tho.
The only thing we would be add a way to undo several completed games at once not just one at a time.
Used to have 5×5 in our daily paper but they dropped it.
Hi. We like this game a lot and enjoy the features. But what we would really like is some way to indicate (like a different color for the square) when we enter the first guess using the smaller x and o. We usually take a guess and then enter the x and o as far as we can go. If we get to a point where there is clearly an error, we erase what Ive done and know our first guess was wrong. It would be really helpful to know exactly which square we started on in this process. Thanks.
We love this game so much and we really enjoyed the challenge of the hard puzzles. So we ended up buying the Hard Variety 1 and it wasnt remotely as tough as the Hard Starter Pack. Really bummed to have spent the money on something thats too easy for us to solve.
Another great puzzle game from Conceptis. Not only is it fun, it helps exercise your brain! Would recommend to anyone who likes puzzle games, logic puzzles, or just needs mental stimulation.
We love the beautiful patterns. We wish The game could replay our moves after completing the puzzle as we bet it would be mesmerizing.
Addictive. Has 3 levels of difficulty. And zero ads. Also love the free week puzzle.
We love this game. Easy to learn but a good challenge for the brain.
We love this game, but about once a week, Ill go to place an X or an O and it wont work, and our phone will be frozen up for about five minutes. We cant do anything, not even restart it. This doesnt happen with any other app. We hate to say it, but we are going to finally delete it.
We enjoy this game. Could you make it with 2 colors besides the x and o.
One of our favorite types of logic puzzles in an easy-to-use interface.
We have a suggestion. (Sorry! The suggestion option didnt work for us.) Please include an opportunity to clear or accept all pencil marks. That would be great.
They had this in our daily newspaper and dropped it. We found it here and its great.
We have loved this game since we first stumbled on it a few years ago. It comes with so many free patterns as well as weekly new ones that we dont feel a need to buy more packs, we just clear out the free ones and do them again. Ive never had an issue with glitching and theres no ad pop ups which is so rare and nice nowadays.
We love the entire conceptis line and have been a member of their website for 10 years. Love the challenge and to have them on the go is fantastic.
We think Tic-Tac-Logic needs the diagonals rule, but its ok otherwise.
We really enjoy this game and love the challenge of the difficult ones.
Simple to play. Challenging to win. Actually one of the best thing about all games made by this developer is the level of tools available to help solve the puzzles without giving away the solution.
We actually love the puzzles. Our complaint has been the same since it came out, the color scheme is bland and a little depressing to stare at sometimes. We dont see why it couldnt have some color themes to brighten things up. After awhile of puzzles we have to stop because it feels like Im doing office work. Conceptis said they see no reason to add them because apparently Im the only one among thousands who has mentioned it. Ive purchased a good handful of puzzle packs but Ill never buy any others. Quite frankly if they think it doesnt need color then you have to agree one or two puzzle packs is more than enough. You can reset and do puzzles over and over and youll do it differently every time. We cant possibly memorize all the layouts so how can we be 100% certain that every puzzle layout is different.
We like love Tic-Tac-Logic we like always play it when Im going threw one of our break ups like low key it really helps us relax.
This is a pretty unique game. Its really fun being totally confused thinking there is no way to logically deduce positions. The all of the sudden a new pattern pops into your head. Im still on the easy levels and thankfully no ads.
There isnt always another logically true next move.
We remember playing it a few years ago and now Im downloading to play again.
Great collection for anyone who loves logic puzzles. Works perfectly on iPad and iPhone.
This is a fantastic game and easily the most calming/meditative game from Conceptis. We dont spend money on games in general but we buy puzzle packs for this game and other Conceptis games because we appreciate that these are high quality games and theres no nonsense involved. These are some of the most interesting puzzles out there to solve, and there isnt a constant stream of disruptive ads ruining the experience. If you love this game, throw them a couple dollars once in a while (you can restart packs and get a lot of plays out of them before they become too familiar).
This puzzle game was easy to learn and quick to pick up. We spend so much time solving and resolving these puzzles as a sort of meditative experience. It calms our mind and keeps it focused. We have gone to sleep thinking about Xs and Os.
Im still working our way through the medium puzzles, looking forward to the advanced. We really enjoy figuring out the solutions using logic. Our only suggestion is that there should be a way to erase all the pencil marks at once.
We like this. Feel better with our kids playing this than slices or candy crush or angry birds. Plus we like it.
Fun and challenging puzzles. Wish there were more offered without having to pay.
Love the game but need more free games.
It was one of our favorite games back when we were a broke student. We eventually deleted the app because there were no free puzzles for the week. (maybe you can do a watch-an-ad for a random free puzzle?) Will probably buy a pack or ten when we're done redoing the free levels.
We can keep playing them over and over. Great puzzles.
The "simplified" ruler update means rulers don't work at all. Please restore to earlier version! :(.
We love Conceptis puzzles, and this one is different enough to make us think. Really enjoy it.
We love this game. We've been playing conceptis puzzles for years. This is our second favorite (to cross a pix). We can't wait for a new one each week.
Only problem is, it's a great procrastination tool.
…only wish they would release more puzzles.
Once you figure out the strategies, it gets really fun.
Buyer beware: you could end up spending thousands of dollars on Conceptis applications. Read on for details. This review includes the eight applications published on the iOS app store by Conceptis (Nurikabe, Tic-Tac-Logic, Link-a-Pix, Pic-a-Pix, Hashi, Sudoku, Slitherlink, and Fill-a-Pix). First off, their applications are well built and include many fun puzzles. We especially enjoy the weekly free puzzles, though it is a little irritating that they go away after four weeks and are not saved. However, the biggest problemand we've noticed this mentioned in some reviews for these applicationsis the high cost of puzzles. They are well done and fun, but when the costs are summed, they are rather high. There are 31,380 puzzles total (as of today) across the eight applications, ranging from very simple to rather complex, which would cost you a total of $3511 (not including tax). This is on par with the cost of licenses for professional-level applications. We think it's quite disingenuous of Conceptis to charge so much for the puzzles. When averaged (across all 8 applications for the entire range of puzzles), they total just over 15 cents/puzzle. That may not sound like much, but it can add up quickly. To contrast this, LogicPicColor, an iOS app like Pic-a-pix, has 16,778 total puzzles which cost a total of $30 (plus tax), averaging at a third of a cent per puzzle, about 50 times less than those from Conceptis. Now, LogicPicColor has some shortcomings and is not nearly as well done as the apps from Conceptis. Nonetheless, we don't believe Conceptis's apps and puzzles are worth that much of a premium, and will therefore be satisfied to look elsewhere. Perhaps someday they'll offer sales or discounts for puzzle bundlesever since the apps were released, we've hoped for this, to no avail.
We love all the conceptis games. Love logic games.
This is our second Conceptis app. They are great mind puzzles. Good for months or even years.
Puzzles unlike anything else – all Conceptis apps are quality, and plenty of free puzzles! Try it.
We love, love, love this game! It's a nice change of pace from Suduko and others. Lots of free puzzles and levels. Additional puzzles are very reasonable. We promise you'll enjoy this.
