Community Insight:
Ive loved the vampire games these guys made and decided to take a stab at one of their originals. As someone who hopes to make it playing this game was a deeply emotional experience. Please for the love of anything support these guys and play this beautiful game.
Played this game for a laugh, it took us and our boyfriend a month to finish it. We spent beautiful evenings together reading out loud and making decisions in the game. Maybe its because were both in the film industry, but by the end we were in tears. Cant wait to play again.
This game is overall very well thought out. We enjoyed every second and its a splendid time killer! We really cant think of anything negative to say about it. :).
One of our absolute favorites. We know Ive replayed this more than any other Choice of Game game.
App keeps randomly crashing over and over again. A really good app that got ruined by bugs.
To begin with we were super excited to play this so we downloaded it and when it loaded up it was AWESOME the options were creative and fun but it all went down hill when we had to start worrying about relationships which really weren't that important to us but it seemed like that was all the game cared about also why the heck is this game so obsessed with communism it would of made a good side plot but come on this isn't why we bought the game plus when our movie won the oscar we didn't get to see the aftermath of basically anything which just left us saying is this it.
We've bought and played almost all of the games available from Choice of Games, but this has to be one of our absolute favorites. We love the vintage feel of Hollywood that the story takes place in. The characters are memorable and the storyline flows well. We only regret that there's so few endings; either you leave town or have your work recognized much later on. With the way those endings play out we believe that a sequel would add much more to the storyline.
This is one of our favorite stories in the CoG universe. It's not the longest one, but it's definitely long enough to allow multiple replays with completely different pathways. It's not perfect and we still haven't been able to figure out how to complete a couple achievements despite trying every option. But it's definitely up there with Choice of Romance as one of the top CoG offerings to date.
This game is somewhat stressful to play, almost every choice made gives the sense of possible failure just around the corner, which the game used to its benefit. The game is a little buggy but overall solid.
This game is great. Every little decision does affect you later on the game. Definite buy.
Hollywood Visionary looks really good at the beginning. All the options for customizing your protagonist are great, and the tensions of making a great movie vs. Having a personal life vs. Getting enough leisure time so as not to become a stressed-out wreck of a person are very compelling. You make so many decisions throughout the game, you think you're in control of your destiny and your choices matter. They do not. The quality of your movie is but an afterthought towards the end of the game; the game stops being about Hollywood and movies and becomes about a congressional witch hunt for Communists. We wish we were kidding; we're as opposed to Communism as a person can be, and yet the game turns into this awful, boring, unfair trial to determine whether you're a Communist or not, and ultimately you're presented with the choice of either sacrificing an innocent acquaintance of yours to this witch hunt, or sacrificing yourself. The ending is terrible and mostly nothing you do during the fun parts of the game matters. Looks great at the start, but then drops the ball, trips on it and breaks its neck. Very disappointing.
This is by far one of our favorite Choice of Games adventures. It's challenging and engaging. Totally worth the money because there are so many paths you can take.
But, sometimes it flips out and we have to start over.
This is one of the best CoG games we've played so far. It has exactly what we look for in a great CoG game; including a fantastic story, engaging characters, and (possibly most importantly) REPLAYABILITY! Definitely worth the money.
This, along with Slammed! And Hero's Rise is in our top three favourites. We've gotten two different endings so far and each has been amazing. We're absolutely in love with this game and we're eager for a sequel or some other game by this writer. Thank you, and guten tag.
We loved this CoG a whole lot. Love getting into the storyline and growing to like and dislike certain characters. WORTH YOUR TIME!!! :).
Definitely fun! Replay value is great! We can't seem to romance the assistant though? Dunno if it just starts later than the other ones do…. Either way, love the game!! One of the best CoG's.
We absolutely loved this game, from start to finish. It has a few spelling errors, but we're willing to overlook them. Worth every penny.
We bought this game semi-spontaneously when it didn't have any reviews, and we're definitely not disappointed with it. This is a really well made COG game. We found very few grammatical errors and had no crashes, freezes, or bugs. We thought the story was an appropriate length, and the story was great. One feature we especially appreciated that we haven't seen in any other COG or Hosted Game is the ability to have the game randomly pick the names for all named characters. It was always a pain for us to pick names, so we definitely loved this feature. We liked the RPG component, though the way it was integrated was a little contrived, and we thought some of the story events had too much/not enough of an effect on the stats. All our complaints are really minor, and overall, this was a really great game. We think the price goes up to 4.99 soon, so if you're on the fence and have any interest in movies or the entertainment industry, this is a must-buy.
Not our favorite CoG, but it is pretty enjoyable. The story is smooth and consistent, and though some plot lines are set in stone, unlike some others, we felt like our decisions really were effecting the story. We'd easily recommend it to anyone a fan of CoGs.
It's a good 2 to 3 hour game. There were a few parts where we lost interest but it definitely has replay ability to see the different types of endings for movies. A nice read overall.
We played this game through and we absolutely fell in love with the characters and the story time but we played through a second time and we just felt it was a bit… Stale. It keeps the general outline even if you choose to make a completely different movie so it's all mostly repeated. But it was still pretty enjoyable.
This cog game was worth the money, it may be on the shorter size but the qaulity of the game is what really shines. The romance in this story feel genuine and presents a realistic view to how a movie is made. We highly recommend this app to anybody who is looking for an interesting read.
From what we can tell its an amazing game from an amazing company….however since it just released we've had bugs of the game basically crashing after certain decisions and we can't get past the scene of who gets the first honors of filming until its fixed we can't really recommend it fully but when it's fixed it's 5 stars all the way.
As always we were one of the first to jump on this one as it was released, the story is good but the choices do not have as great of an impact as one May hope. Overall worth the money.
Out of all the books so far we feel like this one was ok. We feel like the choices could've been better. Plus we didn't like the stress meter. We felt like it was pointless. But over all the story is great. So we give it a 3 out of 5.
There really weren't too many directions to go with this one.
The game freezes at the decision of who's going to write the script and it goes blank and forces us to restart to a new game.
It doesn't matter how good the game is if we can't finish it. It freezes just as you click the scene marker before shooting the first scene. Fix this and it might be a 4 – 5 star game.
