A quest to investigate a mysterious lady ghost, leading to a odd machine that controls missing children invented by a mad man, get help along the way from a male spirit who talks in harmonized slow motion, then morphs as he opens doors to other worlds.
When we originally tried this game, you couldnt even put your name in. Luckily the developers saw the poor reviews and went to work. The game is now fine, and very enjoyable. Luckily, it was on sale after the fix, and we purchased it, changed our rating from 1 to 5 stars, and spent the rest of the afternoon playing. The puzzles are good, as is the map and hints. This is a fun game and we recommend it.
The story is classic to Big Fish games though still entertaining and enjoyable, got this on sale and definitely worth the money spend. Graphic on this are better than others which is one of the reasons Im happy to pay. Thank you for making these and cant wait to download more in the future, prefer to okay puzzle games because at least we feel Im exercising our brain in some way rather than BAstart ;).

Cannot even sign in to begin to play! Please Fix Big Fish. Cannot believe that this is happening! KdBoots (No Stars) wanted to say after reading twighlights review – we too have have one iPad running the old iOS and 1 iPad running the new, it does not work on either iPad regardless of the iOS operating system. Game is flawed! Game has now been updated and is working!! Thank You Big Fish for the quick update and also for the announcement that you made, letting us know that you had been alerted to the problem and were working on an update. That was Very Helpful, and that we could expect an update soon. Also liked, receiving, the developers response to the reviewers and the problems that we had expressed with the game. ( Nice Touch) P.S. Purchased the game now and am enjoying! Always have enjoyed this series! We will update again more later on the actual gameplay and storyline. Interesting storyline, morphing and collectibles to find. Cant help but like how creepy Richard is incorporated and commenting during the game. Hidden object scenes were word lists, find pairs of items and some interactive ness. Some puzzles were ultra easy, while others were a bit more challenging. Teleporting map provided. Experienced no glitches now. Recommend playing the trial and seeing for yourselves if this is one that youll enjoy. We did!!! Happy Gaming Everyone KdBoots.

This game is not very good because of the updates they should have updated the image because its not the same anymore it seems that all the big fish games are like that now.
This game is worth it for the Bonus Chapter. In the main game, you get help from your Dads Skull which you carry around with you! Awesome! In the Bonus Chapter, you get to be the Dad – you are torn between using Black Magic and trying to save people. Awesome! Im following the Grim Tales series now because of the kooky Skull/Dad. Awesome.
We love the Grim Tales series! The Hos were varied, the puzzles were imaginative, yet annoyingly easy. For example, in a place-the-gears puzzle, the gears were colored and the background where they are supposed to go has the matching color! Where is the thought in that lol. But the game was still thoroughly enjoyable. The bonus game ties in characters from another series, and lets you know why Richard was obsessed with the dark arts. And is it just us, or is Richard hot as hell. We knocked off a star for easy puzzles and the main game seemed a little short.
Well, at least the crappiness of this game is up front: Cant type in a player name or move further past that screen. Blessing in disguise? Really, Bigfish, youve hit a new low with this one. UPDATE: we were able to gain entry to the game playing on our iPad Air; finally able to access game on our iPad Pro once the devs got player name entry page corrected. Kudos to yall for the fast response to players reviews. It does affirm that someone out there is listening! The game itself is enjoyable, along with a good storyline. That talking skull guy (Richard?) is a hoot. Cant beat a good talking skull, we always say. A solid four stars from us. Until next go-round, fellow gamers, Happy June.
Log in problem appears to be fixed, as we had no issue with it. Anne Grey is back front and center, no mentions of the niece who was trying out the whole adventuring idea. You rescue family, and theres the usual mishaps along the way. The plot isnt super in depth, but it rarely is. Im knocking a star off because the main game feels oddly short, and we think the game would have benefited from a longer game with more backstory for the plot. Edit: Bonus story helped with SOME of the backstory, and added much needed tie in to the Grey family, but also opened more questions about the main antagonist- so our rating stands.
After experiencing difficulties logging in was able to do so after the latest update. Ive enjoyed this series since the Heir. Although they seem to be getting shorter and less detailed in the last 2 installments. Id give it 3.5 stars but rounded up to 4.
This game works well on we-pad air. Guess there is a problem with the compatibility on the we-pad pro. It was a fun game: good puzzles, good map, ok story line. Our disappointment was the fact that this game is billed as a collectors edition so we expected a bonus game. There was not one. Thats the main reason for 4 stars.
Even after the update, this game was still problematic. There were some touch screen sensitivity issues and the map did not function properly in the bonus adventure. Once again you must assume the role of the time traveling Anna Grey. Along with your father Richard (in the form of a glowing skull) you must solve the mystery at Evermoor Academy. We really cannot follow the nuances in any game in this series, but they really are all about attaining immortality. You could customize settings. The graphics were decent. Gameplay was addictive, as we find it to be in most of Elephants offerings. There was a myriad of collectibles: morphing objects, haunted paintings and emblems. Inventory was labeled and interactive and there were complex items to assemble. You were equipped with a marked teleport map to transport you instantaneously between locations; unfortunately it didnt alert you to actions available during the bonus adventure. There was a plethora of tasks at each location and this game was at least a normal length.The HO scenes had some variety; however none were extremely unusual or unique. We wasnt crazy about the puzzles/games because most were either very simplistic or were of the trite and mundane rotational genre. Give us labyrinths and mazes and potions instead! In any case, we enjoyed the basic gameplay anyway, despite the issues. We still felt it was an entertaining and enjoyable game. At least Elephant issued an update after so many players complained. What was strange was that we were still able to create a profile before the update, and it seemed nobody else was able to do so! Our true rating will be 3.5 stars. We deducted stars for the banal storyline, the selection of puzzles/games and for technical issues. Happy gaming to all! UPDATE: Once again we will remind you that Kingmaker was a dull boring game and not worthy of the steep price! Artifex Mundi used to distribute excellent games; the last few have been awful and more geared towards 5 year olds.
Hi, so the game is not working well for our iPhone15. It plays the scene cuts fine, but while playing the game it looks weird. We dont know if it is because our screen phone is too wide. We dont know. We really wanted to play this game because it is not on Steam. There are some missing parts of the story of Grim Tales that is not on Steam, and we really to do the ones that we miss so we can understand the story more.

The blatant copying of Harry Potter in the bonus chapter is really annoying.
We liked this Grim Tales better than Graywitch since it had more of an interesting story, like Crimson Hollow. We know this series is like other BF games so the story will follow same suit, so for the most part at least we know what Im getting when we buy it. The game was decently fun overall BUT we know people have complained in the past about the games getting shorter and costing more. At first we didnt care because the quality seemed to be getting better, the HOPs were different & games fun. But now, not only do they keep getting slowly shorter, but they keep getting easier, like way to EASY.. EXP putting the code number directly next to a locker you have to open & making a mini game!?! How is that a game if you have the code right next to it??? Is there anyway you can try to give us a journal again so we could at least look it up if we dont remember the code?? AND why are HOPs so easy or boring to the point we are clicking randomly to find 2 of the same objects hidden behind random other objects? Even if its a match 2 of the same item, we at least feel like Im using our brain a little. Thanks we hope these get better, we love Grim Tales.
It wasnt the best Ive ever played…..but it certainly wasnt the worst.
Story line is meh, graphics go blurry on cutscenes and some of the puzzles are not logical at all, for example, the generator says oil in large letters and you have to put gas in there. Several times we have said to ourselves thats not how that really works, oh well.
This is without a doubt one of our favorite games to play. Id recommend it to anyone BUT Today we tried to go in to play this game and there were opaque squares around all the characters and items and it did not recognize our touch. It just went WACKY!! We are working on an iPad mini 4 using the latest iOS 14.6. Has Apple updated us out of some games here too? There is one other one that is doing the same thing. Thank you for your awesome work! Please fix this PLEASE. We come back and give a raving review with 5 stars if you do.
We were enjoying this until the Find Pairs HO in Chapter 3. The lights are all lit up like Ive finished it, but it still shows as active and we cant get the piece we need to continue. The Hint shows only ONE house… No more pairs. So Im stuck. We notice another user had the same issue. Guess Ill have to start over.
Just finished the main game. We play a lot of these games and we just couldnt get into it. Story line was stupid and we barely could stand the character voices. Games were the same old stuff and instructions on some didnt make sense. We doubt we will play the bonus game. Theres a lot better games out there. We usually love Elephant Games but this one is a dud.
Just bought this yesterday, now today it's locked up and cannot proceed. What to do??? Learned our lesson, no more purchases. Just be happy playing previews.
Like an earlier review stated, its glitchy. The display seems to be in misplaced boxes, separated. Its impossible to play the game this way. We hope it gets fixed and we can change our review.
What is up with any of the Grim Tales games not playing on our iPhone 11? So far, none of them have worked. On this game we finally got to play but the game is blocks. Like we have never seen anything like it before. We wanted to replay the entire series. We havent been able to play any so far. Its bad enough that we have to repay for the ones we have already purchased before but now we have to deal with this situation. It bums us out so much. We are so sad right now.
Love the series! Trying to play in chronological order but when we get to Crimson Hollow the graphics are all squared distorted. Tried some of the other later grim tales and had the same result. Please fix this love the game and the stories. We have an iPad 11 pro.

We tried playing. The front load screens look fine, then you pay $6 and load up a glitchy boxy unfinished piece of crap. People were complaining of this 2 years ago. Big Fish doesnt update its games.
We dont know whats going on but this game is very damaged of mess up the screen is not right at all all white screen and no color the graphics to games is very bad we hope yall can get this fixed because we couldnt play the game.
We have an iPad mini running iOS 16. We downloaded the free version, then paid to unlock it via in app purchase. The user interface was covered with boxes, making it impossible to see anything. Then we found the tech article in Big Fish Games website that Apple iOS 11 no longer supports 32 bit games. We were not warned before purchasing.
Ive played a lot of big fish games and this graphic is glitched for sure. Lots of boxes every like the pieces are poorly pieced together. Please fix this for us. We just purchased the full version of the game. And the first screen is like this. We can send pictures if necessary.
This is the second game we have downloaded from Big Fish that is unplayable due to a graphics issue. We usually have no issues with their games. We wish they would update or remove the games that arent working. We are not the only one with this issue. Im on a iPad mini 5.
There Is some weird outline over every photo / piece of photo making this unplayable. We requested a refund within 5 mins of downloadingstill waiting for a response to our request.
The graphics is big problem and we bought this game and we dont know what to with game if we cant see what we are doing.
Game has down loading issues it seems. As with another Big Fish game we tried. ( we had many big fish games download just fine). Screen is scrambled in odd picture boxes. Unplayable. Unfortunately we purchased upfront instead of playing the sample first, to make sure it downloads properly. Wont be doing that again.
We just started the game, and the visuals are awful. It looks glitchy, and It hurts our eyes looking at it.

We have loved these games, but the graphics problems have not been addressed. Will this ever be fixed.
The picture is clear during the mini stories with the characters. But all the rooms and objects within the game are very difficult to see because there are strange translucent squares all over the screen.
Cant play at all screen is white and blotchy cant see any thing.
