Ive now played through this twice, once a few years ago and again yesterday. Its just so gosh darned fun.
We got this book on a whim and we couldnt stop reading it. We enjoyed every part of the story. If you like solo adventure storys then get this series of books.
By far the best text-based game Ive played. Ive been playing this game since it first came out it gives us just the right amount of entertainment when we have nothing else to do or just to pass/waste time when Im busy.
As far as writing and plot goes, this game would be worth the price even without being able to alter the course of the story. With that ability? One of the best, most enjoyable games we have played.
Very fun little story. Decided to download after listening to an old episode of the heme design round table. Happy that we did.
As far as writing goes, this game is awesome. Thrilling, suspenseful, amazing. The writing is intense and very well conceived. However, a couple things need work. As our hero won the hero of tomorrow award, we noticed one of the options (the question asked how you felt about the award itself) mentioned there was a 100,000$ cash reward that came with receiving the award. Well, Ive checked and checked our stats, and am still at the same amount we were previously as far as cash goes. We bought the trilogy pack and havent really needed the 100k yet, but Im still wondering.. Wheres our money.
Whereas Choice of Robots, Choice of Magics, Tin Star, and Choice of Rebels offer nuanced, well-flushed-out, fascinating adventures, Heroes Rise is comparatively juvenile and silly. The Superlatives offers a vastly superior superhero text adventure.
This series is awesome . We'v read all 4 books so far and love the Hero rise universe.
We played the whole series and it's amazing ! You won't regret it. It is our favorite trilogy alive.
This game is the first part in a trilogy. The characters charm you and the story captivates you. We played the entire series in two days because we couldn't set it down. It made us laugh and cry, it made our heart swell at points. We really recommend this game.

We rarely leave a review for a game but we simply enjoyed playing this through multiple times and we keep coming back. We just love the way this game brings out emotions in the reader and a genuine connection to the characters. The author does an amazing job with this trilogy and we highly recommend everyone to give this amazing app a chance.
Hey our name is Joey we're a big fan of all the choice of games books….. We have read almost all and loved everyone of the…. We were wondering could y'all make a Bleach type of spin off choice of games story…… We think it would be very kool to read and basically have the control of your very own soul reaper and zanpukto with amazing abilities even having like a grade system in which you go to the academy first and unlock your zanpuktos name….. We feel like y'all have the resources to do it like y'all did choice of ninjas which kinda had a naruto feel to it lol please consider this story line we're sure many people would love and buy this type of book.
Without question one of the best games we have played.
We recently downloaded a bunch of choice of the type of games, and so far amongst the few we like, this one was a hit. We got so deep into our character since it was a decent sized story, that when it was over, we kind of had that now what attitude, and its the kind of story that we'll be thinking of for a while, wondering what we could have done better etc. Worth a play, couldn't put it down, finished it within a day.
The setting is immersive and the minor characters have personalities that actually shine! And each chapter has something to add and there's something to keep you surprised each time! The love interest is a clear insert for whatever you want it to be but still manages to keep us interested with interacting with it.
This game is amazing! We totally recommend it to anyone and everyone.

This game is incredible! We've become addicted and always try new choices. Anything can happen, really. You can date anyone, succeed, die, etc. This has such an excellent storyline it should be made into a book. Amazing job.

Having been made aware of this nifty app by the Team DBAH podcast, we decided to buy the bundle to play this cool sounding game. It was a fun game to play, putting us into the shoes of our hero as the story progresses the way we saw fit, which was next to impossible for us to stop until we reached the conclusion. If you enjoy anything like what a TellTale game is like, but hesitant to play in the form of text based gameplay, then rest assured that you will not be disappointed. We cannot wait to play the sequels to this awesome game.
Extremely well written, but we don't like the fact that to get the good ending, decisions you have to make are pretty linear.

We bought this when it first came out and have bought every sequel since. Absolutely, 100 percent recommend it if: You like superheroes. Reading through an awesome story where your actions really mean something. Did we mention you make your own superhero? (It's all in your head, but hey, it makes some difference in the game/book.) Anyway, everyone that likes to read should have a CoG story.
Our personal favorite Choice of Game and it is on our favorites list. Getting this game is without a doubt worth every penny.
This was the best text based adventure we have ever read…played? Anyways, the plot was creatively thought out, the writing was amazing, and it seriously captures your attention (like seriously, read it over the summer, cause you're never gonna want to put it down!). All of your choices really make a difference, and you feel like you're really in the book…game? Totally worth every (expensive) penny.
This game is the most amazing thing we've ever experienced. How anyone could rate anything less than five stars for this app is beyond us. This author has managed to write a truly astounding novel, the type of writing that wins awards, and turned it into a game, one that provides a whole new experience each time you play it. It and ALL the sequels after it will certainly serve as a nearly endless form of entertainment and will remain with us for years to come.
We absolutely love this storyline we're trying to buy the next book now. It's worth the price and will completely have you hooked on every page and every choice.

We stumbled across this game searching for "gay" in the app store. This is because you are given the choice of sexuality and story will include plot developments that reflect those choices. (Though there are no real sex act references – just cuddling, kissing, bare skin, etc. And the "next morning" references.) we are definitely glad we bought it. We could not stop playing it. We even chose this over Netflix, PS4 and other iPad games until we finished the first play through. It was a nice refreshing challenge to READ a game…low stress, but enough story development and excitement to keep us coming back. There are some real moral choices to make. The prose is definitely like a comic book, with more embellishment and back story. Well worth the price! Now to play it again as a bad guy.
Great storyline! It makes you really think about how you want to act while playing. We ended up with half the city liking us and the other half hating us and a intense relationship with Black Magic. Very fun! Worth the money.
Would have given this a 5, but we found all the characters too hard to keep track of. Perhaps in the future, you could make a little bookmark that had every character with a short description about them. We keep getting lost with all the different characters.
- There needs to be a way you can politely refuse Black Magic's advances without blackballing him/her. 2. It's annoying at how many scenarios play out the exact same way, regardless of the choices you made. This happens all too often in this game. 3. There is no satisfying way to be a real vigilante either. Or slightly villainous. You just get stuck in the goody two-shoes underdog slot, REGARDLESS OF CHOICE. 4. But overall it is a good game. Has decent replay value. Recommended if you're loaded and ridiculously bored: be warned, once you buy this game you will not be able to resist buying the trilogy.

We really love the game, but for some reason we can't import our save file from this game to the next one. We can't recommend this game until our character switches over to the next. We have already searched the Internet and choice of games forum but still have found no solution. We really hope you fix this because as we said, we love the game, but It ruins the experience for us not being able to import our character to the next game, thanks.

In general we're not book fan but after reading heroes rise we found ourselves unable to put it down. This trilogy of books is definitely something you do not want to miss out on.
Thrilling and fun! Loved it. But we wish prodigal could be male or Jenny could be as well. Just as a random event.
Excellent story, fun characters, and the choices take us back to when we were a kid reading "Choose Your Own Adventure" books. If you're fan of those, then this is for you.
Just go ahead and buy all three Heroes Rise games because you won't want to stop.
We have lost track of how many times we have played through this. We were never into superhero stuff much before. This got us really interested.
Zachary Sergi shows his brilliance as an author with the Heroes Rise trilogy. We have eked more enjoyment out of Heroes Rise than any Triple A game for the past several years. That is certainly no small feat for a game is only an interactive story, it's only visuals being those you create in your own mind. One can only hope that we'll get the chance to continue seeing more of the fantastic powered world of Heroes Rise.
We were very pleased with this purchase.
We've played a few Choice of Games stories, but this series is the best IMO. Both "The Prodigy" and its sequel has great writing, interesting choices that make the story interesting, and emotional impact. We plan to buy "HeroFall" soon and can't wait to see how it all ends (we don't want it to end though!).
We think this is our favorite. It is all so beautifully written and thought out and… Just wow. We have spent so much time on this game and we still haven't found everything.
We love the Heroes Rise series. Here is where it starts, and we immediately went and purchased the next two as soon as we were done with it. It's very well written and extremely absorbing.
If you like superheroes and dream of becoming one you should def get this.
You should add more power choices.
