Great game but we would like to add on some animation looping? It is kinda weird looking.
This game is really fun to play and it is even better when you delete the data.
Using iPhone 14 pro, and for some reason the game now makes our phone incredibly hot after 10 minutes or so of game play. Only started happening recently so possibly from one of the recent updates.
In our opinion: we have been playing this for 3 years. We get beaten by armies that are much lower in value and power, yet we are unable to ever beat armies that are ranked higher in value and power. How is this possible?! Theres something wrong with this game. The developers will reply to this with an uncaring response saying that its about how the army is built or some garbage like that. Players need to have certain heroes in order to win, so everyone has the same hero. Certain troops are more powerful than the higher level troops, so you have to use certain troops. The armies have to look the same when you get to the top, or you will never win. Armies should be as powerful as their rank, but they are not. Fix it!!
The developers of this game are extremely inconsiderate and rude and some dont have proper customer service skills that can mediate issues when they arise. There have been ongoing problems that have yet to be fixed and it is extremely infuriating that our concerns are fallen onto deaf ears. Some of these issues are: -Reset time -Matchmaking algorithm in arena -Cyclops being an absolute shtty hero that is time consuming -Hero Trial needs fixing -And so much more! Yeah, we cant imagine this game lasting longer than another year or two. Players are tapped out and are growing defeated every day.
Its a good game, but we wish that the heroes were able to be upgraded with magic dust before you put in level 15.
We love this game and have been regularly playing it for about three years now. Unfortunately, we have been unable to play it on our iPad since the most recent update. Its quite frustrating because we enjoy the larger screen on our iPad more than the smaller screen on our Android phone. Unfortunately since the most recent iOS update, we have been completely unable to play any battles due to a pop-up that says Downloading Resources that never reaches 100%. We look forward to a fix – hopefully soon.
Make heroes esier to get then this game would be much better espicially with paying $1000 hust for a max hero.
This game is awesome but we think that in order to get a level 9troop you shouldnt have to pay so many hunting medals and sometimes the game gets a little glitchy. We love this game because you can verse other players. We would recommend this app to people who hate adds. Any adds you can watch are optional. We hate adds. Currently This is our favorite game.
The game has kept us entertained for over three years now. All the bad reviews we see seem to come from people who dont understand that formations are very important in the game, and furthermore, dont understand that it takes a long time (years) to accumulate those formations. We also see reviews of people losing out on in game purchases. We had an issue one time about three years ago, we didnt get a reward that we were entitled too. One quick email and it was fixed the next day, other than that the game does occasionally crash, but we chalk that up to our potato of a phone. It really doesnt cause us any issues, other than the inconvenience of having to spend 15 seconds opening the app again. Quite honestly, now that we think about it, we dont think it started happing until we started running an add blocker on our phone. The progress can be slow and frustrating for the Inpatient, but if you can stick it out, find a good guild to help you along, and stay competitive, you will find yourself competing a decent rank pretty soon. We do spend the $5 every few weeks for the battle pass, but the game is playable for free.
We have a lot of games down loaded on our iPad and phone but this has to the the best one we have. We play we for hours at a time.
We played this game for 2 years now and still cant win extreme levels but we can bet hard mode for 1 year so make extreme easier and possible.
Need more levels in expedition mode. The spinoff app of it just ain’t the same.
Interesting game. Had hours building from the ground up. Then out of the blue get accused of cheating by the developers and unceremoniously kicked out. If thats the way the treat their players who actually spend some money on the game, the we will be more than happy to take our money and time somewhere else. We simply dont care enough about online games to figure out ways to cheat. Dont Bother.
We have played this game for going on 3 years. We have spent money on a regular basis. The arena battles have become Unwinable lately unless you have a high level gin or ally maxed out. Ally is out of control, she kill 70-80 troops level 10 at one time. Totally wipes out the middle of our army with in seconds. There no defense. And everyone has her. And by the time you get her there you change the game and make a new hero unbeatable. We are tired of chasing the hero of the month. We will take our $$ to another game.
The game is OKAY, its very difficult to level up without purchasing in-game items. Even then, $20 of gems wont get you much AT ALL. We play AOW out of boredom to see how far we can get without paying anything. Its been about year of daily play and Im still a noob. Not much joy to be experienced. We also seen that the developers are going around and giving snarky replies to everyone who critiques the game instead of considering to modify it lol, so we thought Id join in.

Very fun game, we think if the game had more strategy, then the game would be more enjoyable for us. The game seems to easy as well. Havent lost a single match since we got the game.
When we got a 80 gem pack it was0.99 cents and if we bought any bundle we would get a free hero and when we bought it we did not get it.
The game has a really simple concept, You place the troops, You upgrade them, You fight. While it gets harder each level, its fun to train and upgrade troops for future levels, Keep it up!
We liked this game so much before so so so so so (you get it) much, but we made a new account and Im getting free legendaries here and there. We used to like working our way up to reaching those legendaries, but now there is no point in doing so. Please fix this, it would make our life 10x happier. (A suggestion we have is maybe you could have a bunch of adds, and as you watch them working your way to the 10th add for a legendary, you gain coins and other units) Thank you for taking the time to read this and consider the suggestion.
Don’t know how in the world y’all calculate battles in PvP. Must have favorites that can beat you no matter what stats say, no matter how much you outnumber them, etc. The game will MAKE YOU lose everytime. Fate will have it’s due.
We have an iPhone 8. The game crashes about every 10 minutes. It crashes 1/3 Infinity War which means we lose one free try every single day. We used to spend $$ but now realise it’s a waste. This game was fun now it’s just frustrating. Too many bugs. Too bad. We now have a new, upgraded phone and the game STILL crashes. You need to tell people that your game is not compatible with iPhone.
It wont let us update! Pretty frustrating! Yes plug in 82 percent.
We purchase, VIP pass. It say Im subscribed. It wont let us use it. It says our payment failed. We restored and same. We contacted support many times now.
Been playing for a few years as a time-waster and fun hobby. But the balance of the game is horribly skewed, and not just for pay-to-play. If you choose a hero that gets nerfed hard, itll take you months/years of grinding (or lots of $$$) to get another up to snuff, only for that one to get nerfed as well. Dozens of heroes, but top players typically only rotate 3-4, as the other ones are basically useless. Hopelessly uneven strategy game that becomes disheartening and off-putting, rather than more engrossing. On top of that, mods on their Discord server delete negative feedback to keep criticism from spreading. Biding our time, but nearly ready to call it quits. Glad we never spent money on it! Edit: And they cant even be bothered to write original responses to reviews, just reheated pablum. Oh well.
Art of War is like a cross between American football and Chess. Set up a formation of troops and a hero, then watch them run their plays. Its endlessly complex and challenging. We’ve been playing for two years. There is healthy, active support on Discord, Facebook, and reddit. Clan community is integral to the game, and many clans are families with sub-clans at various experience levels so even new players can join mature players. The developers periodically release new troops and heroes. In between, they tweak capabilities of the units. Some players dont appreciate changes, but most are excited to analyze and discover the best new strategies. We play two accounts. One we treat like a monthly subscription game. The other is strictly free to play. Both are satisfying!
We wouldnt purchase anything from this game . Apparently if youre off this game for over a year they just delete all your in game progress and even if you spent money on it they wont refund your money back to you or restore it in any way. This is the first time we have ever experienced this. So ridiculous.
Very fun game that we’ve been continuously playing for the last 2 yrs. However, although game has been released for over 3 yrs now, developers are still amateurs . They lack ability to fix ongoing bugs and when they do, new critical bugs appear. After this 6.7.X update, balance of the game is terribly skewed. Before, top competitive players used to rotate 3-5 heroes. Now, only 2 are relevant in the meta. It is also very costly to upgrade troops to max level, but the developers render the troops that we devoted our 1-2 year time and effort into complete useless by one single patch that they say movement mechanisms of troops are fixed for a more realistic experience. They are disrespecting and manipulating us players by gaslighting us to believe theyre in the right and we are in the wrong.
We downloaded this game because we were honestly bored one day, and we were lowkey surprised when we just kept coming back to it. It doesnt take a lot of work at all, just put your little dudes on there and let em go.
This game is a good one but as other games it seems to lean to people from the makers country. The game crashes all the time and after every win it freezes for a few seconds. If these problems had been fixed we would have gave it a 4.5 but, we have never got a response about fixing the problem! Dont waste money on this game, unless you plan to spend thousands. Crashing still happens a level 16* Aly all 9s and 10s most 10s getting beat by level 15s they fixed for a week then the top guys say oh wait they cant be allowed to beat us so now Aly is weaker than before! Terrible!
For what ever short sided reason, the developers constant tweaking of game mechanics punish those whom have spent long periods of time building up troops under given conditions. Attempts to work into top positions have pathways rerouted and deviated. Not a game for the faint of heart. Forget communicating with them trough Discord. Mostly a chat channel for those on the inside.
This is a fun game, and the Devs are very active. Unfortunately some of their activity isnt greatly productive. The latest release is admitted to be very buggy and the balance has been seriously disrupted. Until Devs fix the latest bugs and get better at testing they are going to be hurting themselves and losing players.
Everyone stay away from this game the developers dont care about the game experience they just want your money in their pocket They mess with things just at the last minute every season and they dont care about your gaming experience we will most likely be deleting this game off our phone.
This latest update was handled very poorly by the developers. Didnt let us know as players they made at least 10 different updates to the game. We now only have 1 hero to use on defense. It has gotten a little boring.
This game is very unfair and not a even playing ground. The Admins, email for customer service (that they will tell you to help you), and developers are all allowing cheating in the game (but for only certain clans/players). There has been in depth proof sent to them and they do nothing. In addition, they roll our new updates without even testing. They do not even have a testing server to ensure all bugs are fixed before release. Their testing server is the actual game server and they rely on the players feedback (who are very upset with terrible updates they come out with). In the end, the players need to teach them how to do their job. We have never experienced such a development team who fails at their jobs. We do not recommend playing this game or investing money into it as the game will always be bias and your honest feedback will get censored and you will be muted. We were muted for a whole week and was told it was that long as it was not our first time. As we explained it was our first time and to explain what other time, they told us they deleted their records. Very unprofessional Admins and Developers.
The latest updates which were touted by the developers as game changing indeed were. Unfortunately, they completely broke the game mechanics. We wish we were more surprised that this was a one off occurrence, but this is just another example of poor communication and execution by this development team. One has to wonder if the software is tested at all based on the numerous issues that are introduced each fix. Im extremely close to being done with this game based on the track record of this company which has little care or respect for their customers who have supported them for years. Everyone who has invested their time and money into this game should stop doing so until a wholesale change is made. Stop supporting a company which only cares about making money and stifling voices on their discord site for providing opinions!
This game favors existing players who spend a lot of money. New players do not have a fair chance to advance. Players build their armies and compete against other players. The problem is the game favors stronger players vs newer or weaker players. To advance you need to spend a lot of money. If the battles were against other players with the same strength then this would be a great game but you get so far and all of your opponents are stronger than you. So you either spend money or quit playing. If you want to try the game, go ahead but dont spend any money. If you start spending to get ahead, you will soon find out that you cant spend enough and will quit the game.
The game itself is fun. However you would need too many medals and coins for troop upgrades. Very discouraging. Paid medals are way too expensive. We would play more if medals and gems were cheaper. Or allow buying gems with coins. Experience Quest rewards are too little. Trading Hall is not working well Murky swamp level 3 is impossible.
The game invites you to their official discord if you spend on the game over a certain amount. When players complained about the update to the game and that the developers were not responding, we encouraged them to come here and express their opinions good or bad and was subsequently banned for 7 days. The game is a fun time killer, but the developers and the mods are completely oblivious to what their customers want. Not sure why you would ban a player for suggesting that other players provide feedback good or bad here unless you had something to hide. If that isnt a red flag, we dont know what is. This literally is where you are supposed to be able to be able to provide feedback and encouraging others should not be punishable by the developers. Good luck if you put money into the game or expect a game to help kill time and relieve stress, it has become super stressful after the most recent updates as everything that was working now is changed to not work the same way.
Not a friendly game for free to play players. Devs just care about players that spend tons of money.
They had a great game but pushed out an untested update that broke the game. They arent fond of negative feedback and it took too long for them to acknowledge there is a problem. Im sick to death of only having Aly to fight. Its not fun anymore and thats very sad. We’ve made friends all over the world and we are all going through this contempt they have for their players. No one wanted this.

Seems the latest update has angered a lot of players. Including us. A lot of heroes are being downgraded. Not sure was going on here but is not fair to those who invest money to enjoy this games. To the devs Be honest here what are you trying to pull here?? Cause we starting to suspect the obvious but we hope Im wrong. Listen to your costumers and FIX IT Back!! Otherwise, you will lose costumers in hurry.
