…in ~2008 when we were 12 playing it on our brand new iPod touch on the school bus every morning (when we wasn't showing off the beer app you "drank" to friends). It didn't age very well, mostly just because of how mobile games have evolved/improved; Billy Frontier feels slow and because of how repetitive most of the gameplay is, incomplete. We didn't know that at 12'since we think this was the first app we ever downloaded- we searched our own name first (Billy) + immediately downloaded this game. We didn't stop playing each morning on the bus until we finally beat it a few weeks later. We're still giving it a 5/5 because it definitely was a 5/5 for it's time even if now it only serves as a time capsule to show how mobile gaming has progressed (or regressed, depending on the game)in the past 15 years. This is less of a review + more of a eulogy for one of the OG mobile games that went beyond snake/Pong or mahjong/chess.
This is a great game and Ive had it for YEARS now… Come on, Pangea! When are we going to see an update with a few more shootout levels? This has gotten stale after being easily won so many times.
The app crashes at the end of two of the levels making it impossible to win the game. Otherwise its really good.
We have ipad with ios 10. Game crashes when you win either duel and cowboy is suppose to shoot the aliens. Rest of game works ok.
We have a iPhone X and the game will load and once you complete the dual mode section where the cowboy shoots the aliens it crashes as soon as the cowboy shoots so frustrating. This use to be a awesome game. Please fix this crash and we will change our rating . It only crashes after the cowboy wins and takes the first shot then crashes. We rebooted our phone does not make difference it still crashes. Fix it.
This app was updated today. Pangea is a class act and deserve more praise. And sales, since praise is not edible. Thanks for the fun game, Pangea. Thanks for that wonderful soundtrack.

For free games, crashing a lot can be expected, but not for stuff you paid for. It's not an occasional crash, it's for every game.
It consistently crashes when you win the duels, but not when they kill you…They just screwed a nice game.
On our brand-new iPad air with 32 GB of memory this game crashes on most every level.
We play a lot of IOS games this is by far one of the worst there is no point in playing no story line no level up no you passed the mission YOU GET COINS that go towards the highscore leaderbored is the only thing this game has worst buy.
This was the very first game we ever plAyed on a iPod or we phone! Good graphics good theme good soundtrack! We love everything about this game so much! We became a pro! It's worth the money but still pricy! We went through hell to find this game again! It was totally worth it100% id say in our opinion best game on the market.
We would pay 10 bucks for more levels Let's have a billy frontier 2 we beat the swamp and the town. Would like to see more in an update we are not into the bull chase please add more levels. This app is one of the best ideas ever, and over all well done. It needs more levels badly, other than that very cool.

We Lost all sound, we were in the middle of a game and it went silent.
The idea is kinda cool and the graphics are nice. But you finish the entire game in about 15 minutes. You also collect coins and badges that apparently aren't used for anything. It feels like they had an idea for a game and launched it without fully developing it.
You can run through this game in an hour. It was fun, but there's not much to it. We suggest passing on it until it gets further devemlopment. We hope it does.
This a a great game but where's an update.
Um it's pretty bad is it just us or when u shoot doha it shoot 3 feet hi don't buy.
The game has potential, but is limited. We enjoy the "shootout" portion and don't care about the "stampede" or "duel" sections. We quickly played through the 2 "shootout" sections. We wish there were more. Needs more "shootout" levels and maps.
Have only played a little so far, but we must say the graphics are really nice, although it must be said that it seems rather difficult so far.
We bought this game for our first ipod touch and love playing it. It is great that Pangea still updates this game. Fun game and absolutely recommend this game for a buck.
Saddle up pardner, it's time ta shoot some ugly alien outlaws, run from mutated heffers, and race to complete two-button patterns in an OK corral style shoot-out. Obj, yeah, and the target practice where boxes of dynamite and cow skulls spell "game over"! We got this game when we first got our iTouch in '08, and we still play it from time to time. Well worth the money being asked.
This game came out back in the iPhone 1G days (and thats when we originally purchased it) and this company is still releasing updates and supporting it. That says a lot especially when there are a lot of companies (makers of WordsForFriends take note) that couldn't care less what happens to their cusomters after they have your money. They game is still fun and at 99 cents you can't go wrong. We recommend it and we also recommend checking out the other great titles these guys make. Our only request is GameCenter support + Achievements.
At 99 cents, this game is a great deal. The fact is, this game is just a collection of 4 short mini games, but at 99 cents that is forgivable.
We have to say this game is great now on our iPhone 4 even better when we used to play it on our 3G.

Really cool but some modes are pretty hard.
Beat game in hour. Needs more levels.
We like the idea, some gameplay and the graphics. A few things though: Cons: 1. The buttons for the duel are too small. We find we're missing them a lot. 2. The stampede can be better, more responsive. 3. The shootout part can be better. It should stop moving when you want and be able to shoot while you're walking. The arrows for moving are too small again. Rather than moving we're shooting. Pros: 1. Graphics and sound 2. Different styles of play 3. $0.99.
It was a little shaky at first but now it's awesome.

We have to say this is great and we have only forked out$ for a few games- we wasn't disapointed after having since it was first released. Still not passed all the levels.
This game is awesome! Four different game styles, 2 levels of difficulty, great music and sound fx, blood, and great replay value!! Our only complaint is that there should be head shots. That would increase the fun :) it never crashed on us either. Buy it.
We've owned this game for our iPhone for a year now, and we never get bored with it. It's always on our phone, never gets deleted like most of the games we've downloaded. Don't believe all the bad reviews, you should keep in mind it may have been posted by one of it's competitors, such as the Wild West which is almost exactly like this one but with one major difference. The other one is a tap the screen to shoot, while this one is a accelerator based shooter. Meaning you aim with your phone and hit the fire button. It's a super fun game.
We've been playing this for several weeks now. Although the game is not too hard to beat we've enjoyed repeatedly playing the target shooting game. Very enjoyable. Hard to beat for 99 cents. We paid more and we're still happy. Also, we didn't have any of the crashing problems some people have reported.

Had game for months, yet we still play it not everyday but enough that we don't delete off our touch. Has 3 different modes, with 2 each boards, or whatever you want to call it. For total of 6 different things you can play any time you want. You can jump right in to play what you want when you want, the graphics are amazing! Wait for sale for .99 cent if you don't want to pay more. Compares favorably with games like Heros of Sparta, and other $5 and up games. Main difference is the great replay value this game has, and the great price. Our favorite game by pangera or whatever the developers name is. They make some good games, but this one is great.
So fun and reminds us of Red Dead Revolver… Except as a first person shooter… With aliens.
Great game, but needs more levels.
Pretty good game but definitely needs more levels. Maybe it's not worth the 3 bucks because there aren't enough levels and the replay value on those levels isn't all that great. Also u should be able to spend the money you earn on upgrades or something. Great game we'll be looking for more levels and some upgrades in the future updates.

We have to say that it gets our vote for the quirckiest game on the app store! Great graphics and gameplay come together to form a very fun alien cowboy game. The fun just has to end to quickly. We mean there is like 8 levels, and most of which can be beaten in a minute or two! Don't let that discourage you since we are sure that Pangea will add more content for free. Hope this helped! Billy Frontier has great graphics, great gameplay, and is a blast! Pros: Graphics, fun factor, intuitive to play Cons: No difficulty setting (one size fits all), targeting is offset by default although it can be changed (we thought the calibration was just really bad for a couple of weeks).
