Like the title says, don’t listen to the haters. This series is a must buy for the point-and-click enthusiast. This is Wadjet Eye’s flagship game, its magnum opus. Do not pass this series up. This series is amazing but we suggest playing Gemini Rue first just to get a feel for what Wadjet Eye is about.

In reply to Alysstar132s problem: at first we thought that was a bug, but it actually is not. MILD SPOILERS What you need to do is go to Rosas apartment, talk to Joey, and select ghostly powers. Joey will blow on the curtains to show his one ghostly power. Then return to Kellys room and use the phone. Click on Joey while Rosa is using the phone. You will be able to progress from there.

We had a lot of fun with this game. A storyline that we actually wanted to follow. Great characters, fun soundtrack. We love this point & click game. We enjoyed the difficulty level. Makes you think & really examine clues, but not in a "bang your head on wall" kind of way. Keeps it fun & following.

This game series is perfect for fans of the Monkey Island and Loom games from Lucas Arts. Its the same point and click style and the story is really interesting. Im glad we bought the whole series. Keep up the great work! :)

It took us probably longer then it should have to get the flow of this game. Having said that, we really enjoyed it. The graphics, we know are supposed to be a nod to games past. We didn’t love that, but it didn’t keep us from enjoying the hell out of it. We would LOVE to be able to turn the music down and/or off.

One of the best point & click adventures on the App Store.

We love this series. Play first two. Working on third one. We love to try all options. They make us laugh. Keep up great job.

We really love this game we must play it every year.

We loved these games. We loved the old school feel of them and the general noir atmosphere we felt as we were playing. They were fun to play, and sometimes frustrating, but overall we loved getting to know the characters and feeling inside of their world.

Really great game. Great characters and interesting story.

We’re a fan of old school point-and-click games and this series definitely reminds us of some of our favorites. We hope the 4th & 5th game will be available soon!!!

Great game! We really enjoyed it!

One of the best point and click games we’ve played. Not too easy, not too frustrating. Great story, writing, and atmosphere.

Bought all of these and they sucked us in. We loved playing them and Im sad its over. If you like point and clicks you will love these. Id love to see some more Blackwell games, maybe a few prequels or sequels.

This is a great adventure game in the mold of the old point and click games, along with the pixel-art graphics. We loved the atmosphere, characters and storyline. Despite a couple of obtuse puzzles that relied on clicking every option in a dialog tree before the game would progress, we still had fun. Can’t wait to play the rest of the games in this series.

Wonderful series, perfect for iOS. Interesting, adult, serious – unlike most of that genre, so feels unique.

This is a fun experience for fans of classic adventure games. The interface is simple and easily learned. The story is compelling and engaging. It’s not very long or difficult, but there are some good sequels.

We have loved the game so far, however we have encountered a bug that keeps us from progressing. In Kelly’s dorm room, we have tried using the phone and inquiring about a distraction. Nothing happened and now when we try to use the phone again it just cycles between the beginning and end of the phone conversation, no options are presented. We would greatly appreciate some help or an update so we can get the notebook and move on.

We play it all the time, but it only took a day to beat so please make a second one or add more to this one.

Recently purchased the balckwell bundle and was excited to play but the bug at the very begging doesn’t allow us to go any further. Rose is stuck in her apartment after typing the review on the college girls suicide and she claims she needs some fresh air and then nothing happens. We can’t continue to play if the character is in limbo.

We made the mistake of playing Kathy Rain on iOS just before purchasing this point and click adventure. If only we had played this first, maybe the sub-par voice acting – the "acting" part specifically – wouldn’t have disappointed us so much. The protagonist’s monotone emotionless delivery of most lines sounds read straight from the page. Other VA characters aren’t much better, but having to listen to that one female voice throughout made the game much less fun. Even turning off the voices didn’t improve the experience for us (sorry). The game play is fun, and the story compelling. We would have liked the graphics to be a teeny bit more up-to-date. We enjoy the feel & look of 90’s point and click PC games, but also like the smoother look of current-day controls. Overall, not a bad game, but we don’t think we will be purchasing the sequels.

Great game with a great story so far but when we try to use the phone for distraction in dorm there is no option. Please fix this so we can continue the game.

We ran into a game-stopping bug where the notebook is supposed to update when you talk to a certain person, and it doesnt. We checked a walkthrough because we were totally stuck, and we had already done what the walkthrough suggested. Tested it again, and even though I, the player, know the information, the notebook doesnt so we cant progress. There was another earlier bug with the phone in Kellys room that had us stumped but not permanently stuck. Less of a bug and more a game design thing if you do things in a different order. Overall, as a fan of adventure games, this fell short. On pacing, we usually expect to be stuck for a bit, then have a big breakthrough where the game moves quickly again for a bit, then get stuck again, repeat. In this one we feel we’ve had to squeeze every clue out like juicing a potato with our bare hands without much reward for our work. And mostly brute forcing. Also we dont like the characters very much, which is important in a story-driven game. We DO like the premise though! We just dont feel it delivered on our hopes.

We can’t move on after interviewing the RA and Kelly. It won’t remove the question mark after "Kelly slept elsewhere?" So we’re stuck. Fix this, please!!!

Bought the bundle after seeing rave reviews. Not impressed by gameplay. Finished each in about 2-3 hours and the both felt like hours of clicking around with little sense of purpose or excitement. The game almost feels like a job you don’t get paid for and the characters are gruff and unlikeable. Many things don’t seem very intuitive, we find myself just mindlessly combining notes and clues after each point of progress until we unlock the next point of progress. Feel like we have to slog through the remaining games in the bundle just to get our money’s worth. Can’t wait to get it over with and free the memory back up on our device for something else.

The graphics are quite good but the the writing is weak and the plot & puzzles are dull.

We have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game. The game keeps stopping when we try and enter the doctors office. We dont know if this is a bug or what but we regret paying for this after being able to play for 5 minutes.

Daria. If youre a 90s kid and ever had the displeasure of re-watching Daria then you should know what youre getting into. Great gameplay and voice acting. Our gripe is just with the Im so over being in this game attitude the protagonist takes is so cliche and her disinterest in doing anything other than griping about the minutia of life is not very effective at sucking you into the story. We get that its a more mature adventure but it ends up feeling like a spoiled brat in New York simulator really fast. You have to give your protagonist a sense of danger or at least make them a tad bolder. Just about everything you click on has some snide kind of retort like Im not touching that. But then youll end up using some random object that makes no sense and the protagonist has no trouble agreeing to do these weird things. We think for the right kind of person this is a great game mechanically but not for anyone looking for something more fantastical then a character who just complains all the time and weird things happened to. Just a matter of taste we suppose.

We don’t understand why your steam games all have achievements… But you always fail to include them in your ios ports. Please consider them for future updates.

We spent half the time looking at walkthroughs just to find out there was no possible way we could have seen the clues we needed to on our phone. It was also pretty short. So 3 dollars for this one, and then the rest. No thank you. We dont have an iPad, maybe the gameplay is better on that.

Seems ok but can’t see both ends of the screen, they are completely black (inventory, tools, etc.). For $3 this shouldn’t happen.

We knew this game felt familiar. It’s exactly like one of their other games we didn’t care for, Shiva. Oy. The game plays by itself. It doesn’t need you. So much dialog and virtually no play time, unless you think playtime is being instructed of your next clue or location to go to and going there only to be in another pointless dialog for 20 minutes. There is nothing fun here. It’s not cutesy, it’s not interesting, the female doesn’t speak in a way of normal speech flows. You’re pointing, you’re clicking, you’re being led to each next screen and just doing what you’re told. Not quite an adventure game. From our perspective it’s Shiva in another form and someone will need to sit Shiva for us after this game is over.

Played many of the 8 bit point and click rpg’s on iPhone and through the years on old pc and Mac- Full Throttle anyone? Very well written, thoughtfully produced and likable relatable characters make this game a joy to play through.

Finished all three games in series. Great storytelling.

We’re honestly not sure why we waited so long to play this game, but we greatly enjoyed the luxury of playing it on a tablet. Great plot, characters, and voice acting as we can always expect from Wadjet games.

Loved the interactive story and unique concept. A few parts were a little hard, but for some reason we still enjoyed it very much. Great backstory development through reading letters and documents. To the developer, In your bonus commentaries no need to keep apologizing because you’ve done great. Own it. Just give us a lot of the behind the scenes learning that we love to hear. Kudos.

One glitch after another and don’t bother trying to deal with the publisher. They do not seem to care just ignoring emails.

We haven’t played this yet, so we don’t know how it is on ios, but judging by Gemini rue, and shiva, we’re sure it is wonderful. We began playing this game on the PC, and it’s freaking awesome. We were hoping the series would come out on ios. This is classic point n click adventure gaming right here…. With a little twist. Love Wadget eye.

Another great game by Wadjet Eye Games! We thoroughly enjoyed Shiva and Gemini Rule so we did not hesitate when we saw this available on the App Store. The story is extremely compelling and the characters are so intriguing; it sucked us in from go! It’s a little short but still a steal at $1.99, and it’s worth so much more! I’d say it’s about the length of a TWD episode, actually probably longer. We got stuck for a bit, which we love! We hate adventure games that have no challenge. We’ve already bought Blackwell 2 and will be purchasing 3 after we play it. Hopefully 4 and 5 will also be ported to iOS but who am we kidding, we know we’ll be playing 4 and 5 on PC right after we finish 3! If you love ’90s adventure games, we can’t recommend this highly enough! We know it sounds like we work for the company but we promise we don’t. We just really love adventure games.

Great story. Keep them coming.

Have loved every wadjet eye game made for iOS and this is no exception!! Keep em coming!!

With the price we thought the game would be longer, much like Gemini Rue. This was really one chapter and so it could be cheaper. Besides that it’s worth playing.

The graphics and game adventure style reminds us of an old classic game called "monkey island" series. That’s what we like about it. We love this story about a medium and it makes us want to know what will happen next when we figure things out in the game. We guess the story was short as an introduction. We will plan to try the next episode and see how good it is.

We can’t compare this to the slick new adventure games out for iPad now, but it was fun when we first played it and is fun again. We love games with voice actors….. And we love the banter and sarcasm of Rose and Joey.

The Blackwell series is probably the best adventure gaming we’ve seen since the death of Lucasarts. This is clearly the weakest of the five games but it’s still worth playing for the introduction of the main characters. It’s a rare thing in videogames to see characters with a multigame arc but Wadjet Eye handles it perfectly. Please note that this is one of the few games that includes developer commentary. Wadjet Eye includes this in most of their games and it’s always worth a listen.

Please developers, dont surrender making more games just because it doesnt have much reviews,it is so cool,i just wish you could do more choices that interfer, like in the final of episode 1.. That game is so cool, nicely it has 5 parts,i will buy all of them thanks developers,of this awesome game, for people who didnt buy.. PLEASE BUY,you will not be arrependes.

We wanted to buy the blackwell series on the pc for a while now after playing gemini rue (which is a absolute gem) and now they finally have it on ios! AWESOME GAME, we bought immediatly the other two parts!!!

It’s a story driven game The story is pretty good to us Love the game and also the classic old skool graphic we would buy all other wadjet eye games Already owned shivah, gemini rue and all 3 blackwells on ios Hope they will port all of their games to ios.
