User Reviews on Cadenza: Fame, Theft & Murder

Looking for more information? Read a comprehensive review of Cadenza: Fame, Theft & Murder below:

We used to think that Eipix was the best but Mad Head games have moved to the front of the line. Overall there seems to be better graphics and storylines. Im so tired of the constant demons and witchcraft. Fairytales and goblins. With Mad Head there seems to be more mature real life storylines. The hidden objects and mini games within the game are more challenging and interesting and very clever. In this game we loved being one of the characters and interacting with the others as if really holding a conversation with them. Again, the graphics are so amazing. We also noticed that lately every time we would leave the Eipix game, the volume was lost and we would have to reinstall. We never have this problem with the Mad Head games. We look forward to purchasing more Mad Head games. Way to go Mad Head and keep them coming!

We chose 5* because no glitches,on sale and the game is fun. Im only partly through the game but so far pretty good.

Get this for the music alone! The story is great! A first person game and you get to be the star!

Story is compelling and graphic detail is best ever. Cadenza games are outstanding and it is devastating that BF has discontinued offering these fascinating games.

Great graphics and puzzles are fun. Nice game to pass the tme.

Mad Head games does it again, with a very unique storyline, wonderful character voiceovers, crisp & clear graphics! Hidden object scenes are somewhat interactive with some unusual style puzzles. Teleporting map is provided, and yes there are collectibles. We have not experienced any glitches whatsoever. Always have Loved their unique style of game. This one is no exception! We recommend trying and buying this one! It is not only an adventure but a mystery as well. Hope everyone enjoys it, as much as we do. Merry Christmas fellow gamers!! KdBoots.

Needs a faster refresh rate. Occasionally hard to find record/music note objects. Beautiful graphics, several HOPs and games. Intriguing plot. Long-playing. We cant wait for the next Cadenza game. Bravo!

This game was so much fun! We had our doubts at the beginning, but we were sold before long. Clever story line, love the voice actors and actresses, and it turned out to be way more creepy than we thought it was gonna be. And we love creepy! This game is top quality in every aspect. Well done team!

Love the theme and music in this game. Does not have the dark tones that seem to be so prominent in these BF games. Great job!

Each in the Cadenza series has what most games do not: actual entertaining music and riffs. The stories are well written, sometimes crazy, but they’re always a lot of fun. We especially like the creative HOPs and mini games inside. If you want some good light entertainment, play a Cadenza game and turn on the sounds.

Fascinating game. Cant put it down.

This game was so enjoyable! Great story, great graphics, some interactive HOS. The puzzles were too easy (grr), but that did not detract from the game. You have collectibles in every scene, and morphing items in the HOS, and after the game you can go back and find the ones you missed. In the bonus game you play as two characters that switch back and forth. So fun! A really well thought out and entertaining game!

These are the best made hidden adventure games! We have all of them and this latest one didn’t disappoint. Challenging yet do-able with fun storyline, well developed characters, and beautiful graphics. Awesome!

Unlike others, we had no technical issues at all. This game was a breath of fresh air, with a topic far from gothic murder mysteries and fairy tales. Big thumbs up from us.

We have to say, this is the best adventure/hidden object game we’ve played in a long time, and we’ve played too many to remember. The little details like the musical note sparkles and the snare drum sounds after finding a clue, are just a couple of things that made this game stand out! Congratulations and thank you for creating a winner… We cant wait to play your next one!

This was a good solid HO adventure game. Definitely worth the $2.99. Puzzles were decent and the storyline was fluid. The guitar music was a nice change, too. And watch BF productions LIVE PD show on TV! Its amazing!

Awful beginning much better later.

Note to all gamers: Since there was no trial for the new Five BN game, we didnt feel it was worth the hefty price. We found that all you did in the game was fix equipment and forge items, no variation in the HO scenes, mostly dull rotational puzzles. It was a good game but not fabulous. The storyline was not at all original. A price tag of $2.99 or $3.99 would have been more in line with this game because it was short! So we decided to share information for those of you who are unsure about purchasing it. On to this game: we could pick it totally apart, but we genuinely enjoyed playing it, especially for the sale price. You could customize settings. There wasnt a true journal but objectives were regularly updated. The graphics were colorful 1950s era, the decade during which we were born. Yes, before computers and tablets! The graphics could have been crisper but at least they werent pitch black. There was a marked teleport map to transport you between locations, albeit not quite instantaneously. Unfortunately it was located inconveniently under the Menu, and we hate exiting a game to access it. Luckily this game was quite linear so you didnt even really need a map. At each location you must collect a treble clef record symbol, and morphing objects were confined to the HO scenes. Inventory was labeled and interactive and there were complex items to assemble. The HO scenes had some variation and were enjoyable to play. The puzzles/games were mostly simplistic but we were entertained by this game anyway. We didnt seem to encounter too much in the way of touch screen sensitivity issues. With this developer you shouldnt need to drag items or tools. You are better off clicking the inventory tool you want to use and then clicking the area where you are applying the inventory item. It worked brilliantly when we stopped trying to drag tools. If something doesnt work, odds are it is not the correct inventory item! Mad Head did update the game in a very timely manner and we did not find the quality assurance to be problematic. The storyline wasnt all that original (switching bodies to gain immortality)but we liked the crime (as opposed to horror) genre in which it was used. One asset that Mad Head brings to the table is the way in which you must turn items up and down, or side to side, to further your investigation and find items and clues. We wish all developers allowed us the luxury of inventory item manipulation! This developer also has a good sense of humor; some of the banter and dialogue is somewhat comical. Our main quibbles with this game were: length (short even with the bonus adventure), having to exit the game to access the map, objectives and notes, and for dialogue remaining on the screen for long periods of time, and popping up repeatedly while you are trying to search. However we must rate a game not only on features but on whether we enjoyed it, and for us this was almost addictive! So our rating will remain at 4 stars. Of course there was no new game today but we sure hope we get a new one for New Years, and we are due for EIPIX or Elephant. Once again, has anyone figured out why they added the word Premium to BigFish games and if its significant in any way? Happy New Year to everyone! Happy gaming!

This one was truly a pleasure to play. The music and scenes were enjoyable. The HO games were great – some were the standard word search, some were combos, some were match the image, and others were just plain fun! Some of the mini-games were not so much fun, otherwise we would have given this 5 stars. Well worth the price.

This series is known for its fusion of catchy musical scores and suspenseful murder mysteries. Each game brings a distinct musical style that defines a particular culture, such as we saw in "Cadenza: Havana Nights." Unfortunately, this game is missing the biggest star of this series — the music. An occasional riff of the electric guitar does little to immerse us into what should be the greatest asset of the storyline, and we are disappointed that the music lacks interpretation. This game introduces the intriguing and refreshing idea of body swapping, which reminds us of the similarly conveyed idea in the horror-oriented novel, "Tale of the Body Thief," written by the Queen of Horror — in our opinion — Anne Rice. The characters, as well as the dialogue, are raw and compelling, typical of this developer. The developer tried to portray settings that give a 1950’s vibe — old convertibles, in open-air mode; the drive-in restaurants, serviced by uniformed car hops, getting around on roller skates; and the juke boxes from those golden years — but the results seem superficial. The graphics could use some polishing to sharpen up the details, but the coloration is light and lively. You can customize your settings. The inventory is labeled and interactive; items require assembly. In custom mode, the teleport map facilitates brisk travel to labeled locations and indicates available actions. Transition between scenes is smooth and quick. This developer steadily incorporates into their series the trendy technique of turning around objects to interact with their other sides. A continual trademark of this developer is the implementation of side-by-side visual strips comprising dialogue and action sequences, indicative of Film Noir. The interactive HOSs are sometimes multi-layered and always highly engaging. We love the one in which you find items of food at the drive-in. The puzzles are cleverly integrated into the musical theme of the storyline. The collection sets blend well into the background; one set is discovered within the HOSs. There are a few setbacks, though, that diminish our overall impression. We have been experiencing touch sensitivity issues within the last several games from this developer. Immediate responses to our touch interaction are frequently delayed, resulting in multiple tries before acquiring items. Furthermore, accessing the map from under the Menu is an extra chore; why it can’t be placed on the main interface is beyond us. To sum it up, this installment is not our favorite within the storytelling and musical departments. However, enough creativity and diversity are present to elevate gameplay and to maintain our attention as we progress. For the reasons previously set forth, our true rating of 3.5 stars is raised to a final 4 stars.

Love the graphics…. So far the story line is good. We like the HOPs, they are the right amount of difficulty. We like all of the cadenza games and this one is no exception.

Enjoyed our little foray into the world of rock. Very simplistic but fun. Plot a bit thin, but music great. But even with the Bonus chapter, we felt it was not long or involved enough to be $6.99. The puzzles were super easy to the point of « huh, really ? But still imaginative. All in all we still gave it 4 stars as on balance we enjoyed it and the bonus chapter almost made up for the short length.

After a couple of uninstalls/reinstalls, finally got the game to work, and we did purchase it. However, we found the controls often went glitchy throughout the game, requiring weirdly precise placement of one object on another to make it work. We also felt the game was a little short, and some of the puzzles were total head scratchers as to what was needed, while others were very easy. That said, voice acting was excellent, the music is amazing, and the storyline was coherent and well thought-out. A trifle disappointed with the technical issues, but overall enjoyable. – Says there was an update 2 days ago to fix iPad issues, but no. Im an experienced HOG player and really enjoy MadHead and the Cadenza series, but three minutes into this one, Im stopped by a glitch. No way to plug in the amplifier. We’ve never had to resort to a hint 3 minutes into a game, but we did with this one. The hint says use the cord on the amp input, circling both of them, but its a total exercise in frustration trying to do so. No matter where we try the cord, it just falls uselessly back into our inventory. We even looked up an online walk-through with pictures, which just confirmed that we were doing the right thing. Doesnt work. Glad we hadnt paid for it yet. Id suggest waiting on this one, it aint ready for prime time.

The game is ok. The storyline is fair; but there is something we did not care for. It just did not seem as good as other games. The mini games were mostly good.

The different story line intrigued us, but we guess we just don’t like playing any more without a map.

Trying to comprehend all the rave reviews…? We have played &appreciated this series for the HOP/Puzzles and great graphics… Which it tried to live up to.. Somewhat. But when trying for a musical HOP, it’s got to be better, all or nothing. We expected something much more current &updated- not sleazy/greasy looking men, & oh…. In suits. Hard to digest the "screaming fans". First the sound, dubbed in on repeated ten second intervals. Second, the wide-eyed &slack jawed crazy fan/woman that kept popping up. The combo? OTT cheesy. The synthesized "music" was so painfully annoying, we had the volume off. It was just too over the top. From in "showing" musical angles, from the overdone HOP desktop scene (it resembled a magician not a rock star!) & "ROCK" passcode to the Vegas inspired themes. Just stick to the actual game. Put the time/energy into fantastic, challenging, fun games…. Not basic level, guitar repetitive ick. S.F. Greetings.

The concept is fun and the graphics are pretty. The puzzles are simple. But unfortunately theres no way to enlarge scenes (except for hidden objects sections), making it unplayable on an iPhone screen. We kept missing items to be gathered and having to use the skip function on puzzles simply because a rune or parts of a puzzle were almost impossible to make out. Wont buy the other games in this series.

We have to double or triple tap every object. The response is slow and it gets aggravating. We wouldnt buy it again.

The puzzles arent hard, but difficult to move. You get to the last puzzle in the bonus chapter and boom! The arrows cant be turned. Frustrating!!

Not sure what all the great reviews are all about. Maybe they were playing a different game than we were. We found this game beyond stupid with some actions making absolutely no sense at all. You hold on to a compass for a long time, cant open it with a sharp knife or any other logical object and then randomly it opens with a butter knife?? The music was annoying and the main character has really weird facial expressions. Some of the puzzles made no sense or were so easy it almost felt pointless. Even on sale this game wasnt worth buying! Cant delete it fast enough!

So often there is a tool to get to the next scene and so often it is impossible to use that tool to get where you need to go. The tool must be positioned EXACTLY in a spot that only Big Fish knows. After attempting about 50 or 60 Times you are able to achieve the task. Boring and frustrating! Not fun. This is the second time we have had trouble with this game. So sloppy! Does anyone test these games before theyre loaded?

We finished it just for it to be over! Was really hard to play. Had to use hints the whole way. Awful.

Love this series but we cant get the clock open with the knife to get the Woodpecker. We can not proceed on our phone which is how we play these games. We tried and tried our head hurts.
