Community Insight:
We never leave reviews but felt we needed to for this one. Fun and engaging story line. Puzzles not too difficult. Prefer to pay up front than pay for hints. Really enjoyed this one. Annoyed at partner who bugged us when we playing.
Too much back and forth, but interesting.
The best graphics Ive seen. Originality, imagination and detail is amazing even though Im not a fan of smoke and fantasy. Nice long game, pretty good and plenty of hidden object games. Like that you can track morphs and collectibles from a very good map and side banners. Only complaint is not enough good mini games. Like to play the game not just watch it. Five stars because we didnt want it to end.
- Just played this for the 3rd time in December 2020, and it's just as smooth and playable as it was when new in 2018. We enjoyed this game thoroughly. Great creativity and flowing storyline. We don't care anymore if a game is older. We like reading old books, too. What's not to like about this game? It's really fun. The mini games are intuitive, some more challenging than others. We looked forward to each surprise. As long as a game has easy play features, captivating graphics, and a great storyline, we're in. This one has all three of those elements. We do like to go back and play our favorite games again, though, as long as they'll play. Some no longer do. Glad to have found this one on sale, too.
Have played many games like this and this guy put in a category of "let's play it again". We're saving this to play again at a later time. It's a great story, beautiful graphics, and puzzles and games which are great to play.
What a great game! EleFun strikes again! Lots and lots and lots of engaging puzzles- tricky but not impossible. Lots of HOPs. Again tricky, but not impossible. Super story line. Loved that we only had to use the hint button a few times to see where to go next. Also appreciated the fact that it had the arrow telling you if you had found the paper doll and morphing object- we cant always remember which scene we found everything. This was a very. Wry engaging game, which took a while. Another plus. More games like this EleFun.
We recently started playing this series and so far it has the perfect level of challenge to keep us coming back.
Wouldve bought it wasnt so expensive.
Fun to try to figure out how to find the objects and where they fit into the puzzle.
We really enjoyed the challenges in this game. The difficulty was just right for us. The graphics and the story were very satisfying. We recommend it.
Love this game. Need more like this. Havent found one we like this well in a long time.
We played this game all the way thru without any issues. IOS 13.1.3 It's a great game! Please, developers, don't let this be a lost art. Make more of these games. We don't mind paying more than once but honestly we can't afford most of the games these days. Or at least save the minigames. An app with a collection of the bigfish minigames would be a dream come true.
This was a great game. Storyline was so different from any we have played before. We remember the book about the Bremen Town Musicians from our childhood. The games were challenging but was able to do most without using the skip button. Graphics were awesome. We always love when a map is included. This game has a paper doll image and a regular object to find in each place. The map also lets you know where you may have missed them. We recommend this game. Enjoyed it very much.
This another Big Fish excellent game.
We really enjoyed this one. Nice story and graphics. We could barely put down our iPad.
This game works- you can even solve the mini games…good bang for your buck.
Great graphics. Good ones like this are rare.
This is a terrifically fun and enjoyable game.
Long story, good graphics, fun to play.
Great story and graphics. Excellent HOP we like the morphing objects and bonus features.
Absolutely a must buy. Great game play; beautiful graphics; immersive story line; lots of hidden objects: never boring. Worth every penny.
We have always enjoyed playing this series of games. We have played them all and have never been disappointed. Buy, play, and enjoy.
We dont review much, but this is a good game. The puzzles are decent, the hops are inventive, the story is awesome. We really like the cursed characters and animals. Well done.
Lots of hidden objects puzzles plus other interesting puzzles. Some are are more difficult than others but there is always the hint button if you find it too hard Good story and colorful graphics. Really enjoyed the game.
We're only in the trial phase but we think this is going to be one we purchase. It progresses logically and fun to play. It's not too hard which we like because we play for relaxation but just challenging enough to keep our old brain thinking.
Im late with this review, but we wanted to give this one a big thumbs up. Lovely to look at, fun to play, and no technical glitches. And you can turn all the voices off. The story has a very authentic fairy tale feel to it. One could quibble, the town fathers would have been more likely to burn the whole family at the stake, but then theres no story.
Good price for the length of the game. Its pretty easy but still entertaining.
Its fun to play and takes time what to do next.
Beautiful graphics, many varied puzzles games and HOPs, long-playing, cohesive plot. What we really liked was there was an arrow to tap on each screen that shows that there is an object or paper doll for the particulars screen. Well done.
Great graphics, storyline, haunting music. Fun to play.
We have to say this is one time we dont agree with one of our favorite reviewers but completely agree with Catalina. The game was so relaxing and very creative. We especially liked that each solution to an active area made sense and wasnt ridiculous or idiotic. Love the smooth gameplay, puzzles and characters. We play these games for relaxation mostly and like a challenge as well but we dont want to feel frustrated or like a need physics degree to solve things. Just us! Everyone is entitled to their opinion….. 4Friends has become a favorite game maker of ours, especially this series! We went back and played all the 4friends games Ive bought over the years, right before that big iOS update that didnt allow us access to several of our games, so living legends was fresh on our mind. We were utterly pleased when we saw another addition to the series. Please bring us more from 4friends! Ive never felt disappointed at any of their games ever! And we must give BF kudos as its well deserved for bringing us some very good games over the last few weeks. Great start to the new year.
We like this one because you arent bounced all over the place and the path you follow throughout the game makes sense. The map works great, and it shows you what morphing objects and collectibles you have left to find in the scene. The puzzles and HOS scenes arent mind blowing, but often have nice little twists to them and dont leave you frustrated like many games so often do. The storyline kept us interested, the graphics were good and those little animal toys were stinkin cute; yes, we know they were supposed to be evil but that cat just made us smile.
What a unique and creative storyline. This game is relaxing, however it has a great deal of mystery to it. The graphics are clear & crisp. Hidden object scenes are interactive, multiple tasks to perform. The developer we felt was very creative! Collectibles & morphing objects to find, along with a teleporting map. Puzzles were fun and had a different style to them as well. Character voiceovers were believable and well done. Overall, thoroughly enjoyed this game. Recommend purchasing – a nice addition to this series. Great job developers & Thanks to Big Fish. Really thrilled to see 2 new releases a week!!! Awesome KdBoots.
Great story line, graphics and puzzles. We will say that Beasts of Bremen seemed to be the shortest of all the Living Legends games so far. Maybe it was just easier than the others but it only took us about three or four hours to complete the main game.
We really enjoyed playing this game. But… Gave it four star because the game would not let you go back to collect what you couldnt in the game. Without the one collectible we couldnt get, we cant play the bonus hidden objects. Good thing the game was on sale.
While the game itself was up to par with their others, the storyline seemed overall much shorter to us than usual. Bought on sale and is not worth full price. Would have given 3 stars but we like that you can see where you have or havent gotten the collectibles yet.
We enjoy this game because it is quick paced and whispy graphics make the ghosts look real.
The gameplay was very linear, which we find annoying, but you may not. We prefer to have to think and look around, not hand fed a few scenes at a time. No glitches. Hops are mainly list type, with a few silhouette thrown in. Puzzles ranged from easy to medium. Every time you uncurse a doll, you must play a mini game 3 times. We didnt mind doing that, but if you dislike that puzzle then you will dislike the entire game. It is for that reason that we dont like those types of gimmicks. There are paper dolls and morphing objects to collect in each scene, and collecting all the paper dolls opens a bonus hop. Length was average. Graphics are okay, not spectacular. Real rating of 3.5 bumped up to 4 because of some innovative puzzles.
But the story line was kinda lame. Otherwise a gratifying game. Thank you for all your hard work.
Enjoyable game. If we had paid the full price we wouldve been very disappointed. It has very little variation in the mini-games and HOPs. Wish the game had been a little more in depth into the story or a much longer bonus chapter.
BRAVO!!! FINALLY!! We were SO thrilled & relieved to find a game where a decent sized "we mean business" and "Don't care if it hits you" rock is hurled at a nasty crow…. But what's this..?!?! It gets better…?!?! YES!! Then to our sheer delight …the next interfering nasty crow is BLASTED into BITS!!!…Midair!!…WHOO-HOO!!!…Feathers in all directions…falling from the sky… (use your imagination) For us, it's been a bit of an oxymoronic adventure: Fairly bumpy beginning with "glitches galore" …. …..yet the decent graphics, storyline and gameplay seem to smooth it out somewhat, holding straight and steady… Regardless- we're in for the full ride. ————— S.F.
We have purchased these games before, but they havent improved them at all! You have to back out of each scene using the arrows. The map is okay, etc. But no bells and whistles. This trial version was over quickly, so Im not sure how good it will be as a full game. It's not a bad game, but Im not very interested in buying it.
Note to KimTwilight: You dodged some very glitchy bullets by not purchasing those two Haunted Legends games. Even if you get bored, you dont want those! We have had it with ERS and their poor quality assurance. On to this game. You could customize settings. The graphics were detailed and magnificent and the cut-scenes were gorgeous and magical. The storyline was a twisted tale on a fairy tale, but at first we didnt realize which one, and we wont spoil it for you. There was no cohesive journal but objectives were regularly updated. Inventory was labeled and interactive and there were complex items to assemble. There was a marked teleport map to transport you instantaneously between locations, and it indicated if there were still collectibles available to find, as did the side tab on the left side of the screen. The collectibles were morphing objects and paper dolls. This game was a bit simplistic but it flowed well and was enjoyable to play nevertheless. The dolls made cute sounds and it was entertaining to catch them and then remove the curse. Each time you removed a curse from a doll, you had to play 3 rounds of a skipping stone game. That got old after a bit. The HO scenes didnt have much variety; they were mainly word lists. The puzzles and games were extremely easy and we like a bit more of a challenge. However sometimes it feels good to rest your brain and just enjoy gameplay. This developer has excellent quality assurance and the game ran very smoothly. We deducted a star for length (it was a very short game even inclusive of the bonus adventure) and also because it was not challenging enough. Happy New Year, everyone! Please let the Monday game not be one from ERS. BigFish, they really need to fix their quality assurance issues. Thank you for this exquisite game.
This game is ok. Puzzles are not particularly challenging, but good graphics and good storyline. We enjoy the darker games and creepy storylines. This is not a bad series for just killing time.
Games are fun but on a phone they are very hard to see and enlarging doesnt always work.
We're a little bored with this, more dialogue than we like. One big plus so far you can actually throw something at a crow vs. Finding food or honking a horn.
We played this game several years ago on our PC, and we imagine they just recently reworked it for iPad and other platforms. Its okay, but seems dated. Visuals are good. Voice acting is good. Map works well, and we like the indicator for collectibles on the map.
WAS enjoying it but we got to the point where we need to purchase to go further. Id be happy to pay for the full game but when we click unlock now we get an error message saying purchase failed. Try again. It comes up immediately after pressing the unlock button, it doesnt even give us the chance to double click the side button to use our Apple Pay to purchase, so it doesnt seem to be an apple issue. Really annoying because we want to finish the game.
This game was exactly what youd want and expect from its sort. But then about 3/4 of the way through, one of the hidden objects games is broken. You can select the objects, but not collect them. Now we cant move past it. We even reinstalled the game and stared over. Still broken in the same place. Bummer.
We can't say that this storyline is a novelty; however, combined with a catchy musical twist, it avoids becoming another garden-variety plot. The artwork exhibits a diverse range of colors, as you travel from one distinct environment to the next. Some colors reflect softly muted earth-tone hues, such as the greens and browns, representing the forest. Others emit a more vibrant radiance, such as the oranges, reds, and the purples, representing the skies and the mist. You can customize your settings. The inventory is labeled and interactive; items require assembly. In custom mode, the teleport map facilitates brisk travel to labeled locations and indicates available actions. The map also uses symbols, representing available collectibles, to alert you that you can pick them up within designated locations. Transition between scenes is seamless; no glitches to report. The artistry and design of the HOSs successfully complement the musical theme. On the downside, the majority are composed of interactive word lists; and you will revisit a few of the scenes. The puzzles are thematically executed to suit the storyline. However, we are denied the opportunity to enable a difficulty setting as we can in other developers' games. Thus, most of the puzzles are too simplistic. Furthermore, we dislike repetitive puzzles, such as the one in which you remove all the tiles from the board. The collectibles are inconspicuously placed; you can check whether or not you found the collectibles within each location by pulling out the two tabs located on the left side of the screen. We're disappointed with this game; we think its predecessors were better. We are pleased that the gameplay incorporates enough musical orientation throughout our progression to keep music at the forefront. Unfortunately, though, gameplay is mind-numbing and predictable; for example, we never had to ponder over the particular inventory item needed to be placed somewhere. The game lacks contemporary elements, thus portraying an outdated feel. The adventure portion is ridiculously linear, with three locations open within the same general vicinity at a time. The storyline's musical twist is not enough to save this game. Some players are going to love this one but not us. This game should have been released back in 2014. We skipped both of the recent "Haunted Legends" games because, in our opinion, that series is on the chopping block. We hope next week's games make up for this week's shortfall.
