We love this game because it has so much adventures, puzzles and mysteries! All of our favorite things in a game! Thats why we rate this game 5 stars. It has everything we look for in a game. Do you feel the same way about this game?

Beautiful objects and scenery. Much care went into this game, it offers historical facts about Florence, too. Well done, thank you, your hard work is appreciated. Thank you!

Fun storyline. Interesting and diverse puzzles. We also had the option to play our own music. Great settings as well.

First off note to fellow gamers: Artifex Mundi released today on their name in the App Store- Modern Tales: Age of Invention, which is a Great Game! Highly recommend you check it out! Onto our review of this game: Good game so far, and we have not experienced any glitches. Love the mystery style of the storyline, hidden object scenes, puzzles, teleporting map. Character voice overs are good, as well as the graphics & mechanics of this game. We will update further, as we progress. Still hoping, Big Fish is reading our reviews & are going to give us more than 1 New Release a week. We have contacted them and we encourage everyone who would like to see more games to do so. We all need to let our requests be heard. Hope everyone has a Happy Thanksgiving & that we all have a nice surprise from Big Fish with another new game. KdBoots To Lynx: Your welcome! Thought we would let you know as well as others that we had contacted Big Fish regarding our lack of new games – we got a reply from a Kevin who was polite and tried to be helpful. We were told by him that he would pass this request of ours for more New Releases (like we used to have) along. Kevin, indicated that they had received quite a few requests and that they were taking it into consideration. We really encourage everyone who would like to see more than 1 new release a week to contact Big Fish and express this. Kevin, did say that they do look at reviews, however, contacting them was best in order to get changes made. They want us Happy & he totally understood as he is a gamer himself. We are sorry Lynx that you got a hold of a rude person – but we would try again, because in all likelihood, you won’t get that same person again. Hope this info helps & Happy Thanksgiving to our gaming friends!! This was a GREAT game! Lot’s of suspense and mystery, plus adventure. Very well done on hidden object scenes which were interactive, fun puzzles with some challenge to them. We also really appreciate the detail that the developers put into this game! Lot’s of tasks to perform, teleporting map. Looking Very forward to a sequel.

It has no problems with this game.

The Danse Macabre series presents a unique stand alone story for each of the games however the one thing they have in common is gorgeous artwork and music. This installment doesnt disappoint. Morphing objects in hop, and collecting grape bunches (one per scene). You are set up for a murder, escape from prison to prove your innocence and find yourself in the middle of a mystery. The only downside is a lot of back and forth however the handy transporting map takes care of that. Match 3 option for hop is a nice touch. Verdict: Buy! Update: deducted a star because game is rather short and quality of artwork deteriorated. That said- the plot is still good.

Our initial review was posted then lost..?? Maybe it was to TOO long. While we can’t recall all the specifics from memory alone, (I’ll end up playing again at some point and posting), we LOVED it. The graphics were absolutely stellar and realistic, we especially liked the use of stone and lighting in the opening video… Stunning really. We take our time on games we truly love -and we know we did with this one. San Fran Fan.

This game appears rather short yet entertaining.

How refreshing, a Big Fish game with a horror-free storyline, love it! Great music and graphics, we really feel like we’re in a murder mystery movie in places. Only deducted one star because some of the puzzle instructions are terrible. Developer tip: ask somebody who doesn’t know, if they understand your instructions! We’re a professional copywriter and we always make sure people outside what we’re doing understand what we’ve written.

It’s a total waste of time and money when objects disappear before you can collect the part that needs to be used to move forward. Total waste of money because you cannot move forward to complete the game.

It’s a pity that only one game per week is being released, resulting in denying players an opportunity to choose between two games in case one of them is unsatisfying. This game is one such example of an underwhelming production within a worn-out series that has lost its focus since the original game. We wont outline every aspect like we usually do since Lynx Minx already thoroughly did so. The storyline is recycled and banal, and the characters are dull and uninspiring. The HOSs leave little to the imagination, as they are devoid of any progressive concepts that are present in some of this developer’s other series. They consist of the run-of-the-mill types of which we have grown accustomed to. The puzzles are mostly very simple since they can be solved in one or two steps; a few were interesting, though, such as the one in which you move a certain amount of elements between tubes to prepare the antidote. We also have some quibbles over a few things: we are finding that in recent games from this developer, the inventory usage is finicky. It frequently takes us several tries to place items before our touch interaction is accepted. Furthermore, we don’t like finding morphing objects in the HOSs because it disrupts our concentration of finding the regular items in the scene, thereby causing us to forget about discovering them anyway. Moreover, this game is already short; but the developer dragged out the playtime with the constant back and forth between scenes to complete each individual task. We are begrudgingly trudging through this lackluster game without a care in the world about what happens to the characters and what we should do next. We’re sure glad that these new releases are still offered at the discounted price, thus obviating the need of involuntarily becoming a member of BFG just to take advantage of the lower prices. We were debating between rating this game 2 or 3 stars; however, since we did not experience any major flaws, our true rating of 2.5 stars is elevated to a final 3 stars.

Note to Catalina: thank you so much for sharing the news of the latest release from Artifex Mundi. We really needed another new game. Unfortunately we dont think BigFish plans on giving us more than one game in this genre per week, according to the nasty reply we received from Parker in Seattle, when we emailed BigFish. Note to KimTwilight: we didnt see a review from you, which considering the dearth of games, we expected to see one. We just wanted to make sure you are alright, our friend! If you didnt see Catalinas review there is a new offering from Artifex Mundi, finally! This game was decent, but certainly not fabulous. You could customize settings. The graphics were gorgeous Italian renderings set in the magnificent city of Florence. The storyline was one we have seen over and over, but at least we could enjoy the graphics! There was no cohesive journal but objectives were regularly updated. Whoever translated this game did a very poor job; you could tell that English was not the first language of the developer, as the grammar, syntax and vocabulary did not make sense at times. There was an excellent teleport map to transport you nearly instantaneously between locations. At each location you must find a grape cluster symbol. Inventory was labeled and there were complex items to assemble. Inventory usage was bizarre as usual (typical EIPIX) and at times the application of inventory items was finicky. Other than that, this game ran smoothly and we encountered no other glitches. Morphing objects were confined to the HO scenes, some of which were interesting. You were also given the option in some of these scenes to choose match-3 as an alternative. The puzzles and mini-games had decent variation; however the rotational ones bored us to the point of skipping them. This game was on the short side including the bonus adventure. We deducted stars for length, for lack of originality and for difficulty when trying to use inventory. Our true rating is 3.5 stars. Happy gaming, everyone! Also Happy Thanksgiving ! UPDATE: To all reviewers! We are playing the new Artifex Mundi Game (Modern Tales: Age of Invention) and although we dont usually review mid-game, so far it is gorgeous, different and more fun to play than any BigFish game we have purchased over the last few weeks! There is a nice long trial for you to decide whether to purchase it, and it is a bit pricey but at this point we are so happy for another game we dont even care. The game has all the bells and whistles we want. The HO scenes have variation and the puzzles are enjoyable as well. Treat yourselves to the game. We all deserve a new treat! KimTwilight, we hope you read this!

Cant open the competition program in chapter 2 to continue game. Please fix. Otherwise it will be a waste of four dollars for 2-ish chapters and no ending.

The artwork is not very good, especially when a sketch is used in the HO scenes. Some of the sketched items are unrecognizable. There are some items hidden in the scene, that’s normal, but there are some that have no indication that they ARE hidden. The puzzles are mostly easy, but some are confusing, like placing the notes in the concertina. We got the idea easily, but putting them on the lines, as they designed the puzzle, was rather strange. We got bored, so we skipped it. Placing the items to use them in a scene is finicky. It took several attempts to get some things to "take." One was so bad that we thought we must be wrong, so we used the hint. It showed that we should do exactly what we WAS doing! The map is okay, but not great. The hints are fine. The story is boring. Even the items are odd. You find the flint, but no steel. Spoiler: the steel is in the lantern. We found it but that was just dumb. All in all, this game was very disappointing. We’ll pass.

We cant assemble the crest. The image is off to the left side of the screen with only the lower right side showing so we cant assemble it. 1 star. Please fix ASAP.

The ad says this is on sale for $2.99 but when we go to purchase it, it costs $6.99. We’ve been ripped off.

Glitchy. Cant combine some objects together despite repeated trying. Dont bother – what a disappointment.

There is a glitch that keeps you from combining a couple items. Dont purchase until there has been an update.

So this sale price of 2.99 ends tomorrow when we go to purchase game it still comes up 6.99. We are not paying 6.99 for an old game fix it please. When its fixed then Ill change our rating.

We had the same problem trying to open the competition program.

Big Fish is advertising this game for 2.99 but Apple is trying to charge 6.99 so we wont be purchasing.

Stuck on the very first chapter with the crest parts. We have the main crest, we have all the parts (as confirmed by Big Fish’s Guide), and the game will not join them up or even recognize them as belonging together. Fix please!

Does not give reduced speciel price?
