- We wish we could delete some items that we cant use anymore that are waiting away in our storage making our game slower. 2. We wish the menu of items in our storage could actually be categorized for easy finding. 3. We wish when planting veggies and fruit, it had how many we have already. 4. We wish we had more options to gain white unicorns that restore our energy. We cant exit the master realm so we have to leave the game each time and log back in!

Been playing for years. Most of the time a lot of fun. Some games impossible to complete unless you spend a lot of money.
Like many other reviewers, we’ve also played castle story regularly for years. That in itself is special, obviously there is something magical about this fantasy world to retain so many loyal players. :)

We’ve played Castle Story at different times throughout the last 10 years. Its still just as good as we remember! Maybe some of it is just nostalgia for us. But the quests and characters you interact with are pretty fun. We totally recommend this game even after 10 years! We hope they never take down any of the Storm8 Story games!
We love this game and like all games it takes time to get established and it becomes fun with all the different events. We also think the twice to use gems would be good as some times we lose track of our energy and killing the beast. Thanks for everything in making it stable again.
We have been playing Castle Story since June 2012 and still loving it. Some of the Goals are a little tough meaning we just forget that goal. The ENERY METER needs to be increased 40 hits just not enough.
We have played this game since it came out. Wish they would play some of the original challenges over so we may complete them and so the newbies could play them . Missing gems, coins, and always having to start over with a new name when we upgrade phones. We have like five names on here.
We love this game been playing since 2011, our issue is there are alot of stuff in inventory and a lot of tasks unfinished this is very frustrating.

We love the game this is the second time Im playing the first game we lost and you guys were not able to retrieve it for us so we thought it over again we would like to be able to finish some of our missions and you guys dont give that option unless you pay money to get it done which is not fair because there are children that also play this game. We wish you would make it easier. Sometimes we get frustrated and we want to stop playing but we love the game.

Hello! We’ve been playing a very long time! We’ve hit level 50 on two different games. Unfortunately the first game we were unable to get it after our Ipad died and we had to get another. Castle Story was the only game we couldnt get back. So we started anew. What we think would be nice is being able to gift some different items. Example – more items to choose to gift. We would love to see storm water as one choice since there are so many things that require it and its hard to get enough for anything. Maybe raise the energy to at least 40. We still wish we could get our original game back. But overall we absolutely love playing this game or we wouldnt have been playing for as many many many years that we have! We wish you all the best in this new year!
Once you have played for awhile, the missions are worth the effort. As long as patient, does not need to spend $$. But great deals to buy if you do use $$.
We have been playing this for about a year now some days we are really busy with work and life etc. But it is a great game to unwind with! We are also very impressed with the graphics and design of the game the story along side is also a huge plus. We had the app glitch on us at one point which was at first frustrating but the amazing people who work on the app quickly and kindly fixed the problem. Overall its a great game and we hope to continue enjoying it.
We’ve been playing a very long time. Its fun and relaxing. However, it still has some kinks like leaving your castle and visiting others sometimes shuts the hold game down. Ill keep playing bc other bugs have been fixed.
We’ve played this game for several years and like others, we’ve had to start over when we upgraded our iPhone, felt gems have disappeared, and that events are too hard to complete and too numerous; however, we use the game to appreciate how frustrating, boring, tedious, repetitive, and silly it is for anyone to spend time doing this kind of activity save for it keeping us from obsessing about how all these things are equally true of all the huge dreams we are trudging the road to manifest in the real worldin our work as an artist in our studio that include completing The Paradise Project and building The Center for the Human Family to house it (aka our twin visions). We find the game calms us, helps us to see small achievements take hold especially with expansions permits, and encourages us to believe that if we build it without spending a penny, God will deliver all we need to accomplish these two Great Works. Silly, but it keeps us going from one day to the next just by being consistent. Its a way to stay focused on progress and process, not the end goals! Creativity though building, organizing, planning, and imaging a vast kingdom is a reflection of the internal transformation we are making to allow our dreams come true in our real life. It is a mindful prayer and meditation. Try it! You might like itespecially if you have dreams of big ideas for helping Earth, our home, and humans, our family.
This could be a great game if the developers would pay attention to what players want. It is difficult to get enough energy to do things and the quests they give are almost impossible to complete without spending REAL money! We dont mind paying a little for enjoyment of the game but $20-30 a month is ridiculous. We have come very close to deleting it entirely. Instead we quit playing for a month or two. Or three. If you want to waste some money, this game will make you happy.
We love this game but there are two things we don’t like. First one is that you can spend gems by mistake if you touch at the wrong place since there is not a confirmation option. Second one is that after we changed platform we had to start all over again since we couldnt transfer the game information to the new platform, we were already on level 50 so it was painful to have to start all over. We hope both issues are fixed by the developers.
Interesting game, but too many pop-ups, each time you reopen the game, once a day is too much. Also not enough time to complete a challenge. Its one of the original games we started to play. Sometimes we go for months without playing.
Excellent game – creative, kind and inspirational story lines! We have been playing it for years. Our only criticism is that it is too hard to complete goals – takes months – very discouraging and it gets repetitive and boring.
We would love to give this a 5 but it is getting more difficult to complete goals. We had to clear trees to find Tawny to make an item. We have cleared six trees and have not gotten him once. Im close to completing the goal but the way its going it will be impossible to beat.
The game is fun and the challenges are dorky but entertaining. We’ve read through some of the other reviews and Im sure some of the complaints are justified, but we have enjoyed playing it for over 5 years.
We love the game ! We have been playing for several years now. The only thing that we find aggravating are the pop up adds. If we were going to get in game currency or something that would let us level up one of our buildings or even get wisp lanterns it wouldnt be so bad. We love the game enough that we want to see what is coming next but we are considering deleting this game because of all pop ups.
Love the game but give us at least 3 days in between events. Never have time to relax and work on Kingdom or building up supplies.
This game is super glitchy and has twice charged us for things we havent bought. Its designed to make you spend money but there are sales pretty often so you can get by by spending $5 – $10 here and there. We agree that there are too many goals but most arent timed so you can complete them at your leisure. If you like building games that are just fun and peaceful ways to unwind, then its perfect for that. Pretty fun and low key.
U get to a point and instead of giving you energy to clear your stuff they charge so much for gems.
We’ve played Castle Story for a dozen years, and its had its ups and downs. Its been mostly down since Storm 8 took over from Team Lava, and for the past 5 years S8 had done nothing to help the most loyal players be able to play the game. We had months where it was impossible to login, and when we were able to play part of an event, the game crashed and we wouldnt be able to finish it. For the past two months or so, we noticed a significant improvement in being able to get into the game and to play to the end of the events. Unfortunately, while S8 seems to have solved the crashing problem, they have apparently stopped expanding the map or having storyline events. We’ve been fully expanded for at least a year, and due to limits on inventory items, we cant collect trade tickets or expansion permits, which are essentially the foundation of the kingdom real estate economy. Lately the events have varied from boring to exciting, but for a long term player like us, it doesnt matter what the prizes drop, as our inventory is full of nearly every item. The community prizes used to be actual items, but now they are simply energy chests which contain 25 of 50 energy units, which are helpful for new players, but we dont bother using them as we’ve banked over a hundred thousand units of energy after playing for well over a decade. Its great that its actually possible to reach a point where your energy producers make more than playing requires, but we’ve only been at that point for about the last couple of years. The best part of CS is the Community, where we’ve met a lot of interesting people who are why Im still playing a game thats built on the greed of the developers who have no respect or regard for the people who play the game. That said, theres really no game that we’ve played for so long. Its addictive and interesting, at least much of the time. Now that its not crashing, its worth playing again. If CS would lift the limit on basic items such as trade tickets and expansion permits, and actually open up new expansions like they used to on a regular basis, we would give this game 5 stars. Its improved from the one star rating we’ve given it for 5-6 years, but theres definitely room for improvement.
The game keeps resetting itself and you lose lives, coins, and jewels. We love the game and have played for years. Just getting tired of losing many things we work hard ti get. Sometimes you have to wait up to 24 hrs to get what you need only to have the item you are waiting for to get not there so you have to wait again. Many times to get what is needed you must spend your jewels. They push for you to buy the jewels which we cant afford. If you start this game be prepared to face these problems.
We once lost our account when we switched phones. We were so upset because we had spent so much money on castle story and loved playing it. The support team was amazing and helped us get our account back. Anytime we have ever had an issue they have always been quick to respond and help us get our issue resolved. The most polite support we’ve ever dealt with. Update When are you going to update the game so the glitches stop? We loved this game but you can never finish timed quests and it glitches and takes away unlimited 10 minute play so you end up only getting half of what u should. You email support and they say nothing is wrong. They havent updated the game in 7 months. Do they even care about the game anymore?
We have been playing Castle Story for almost since its beginning. We are sorry to be noticing more & more that more that the game is becoming more about how to get players to spend cash, than just enjoy the game. This newest adventure is requiring outrageous amounts of time & resources. Its sad to see Castle Story evolving in this direction There would have been a 5 star rating until just the last few months.
We played this game a long time ago and the energy we get is the same. Terrible. How can we do anything with so little energy. Maybe thats your way of forcing people to buy energy or gems. Kind of a bad way to run a business. We get frustrated. It would be nice if we started with 100 energy at least! We can never finish events. Errrr!
The quests are almost impossible to reach due to not enough time or you have to buy too many things. Have had our gems taken away too many times and also if you accidentally hit something. There sound be a fail safe on them to ask if you want to use the. Have tried to get support many times on how to clear out our storage since there is no way to delete them . We have 900 pages of items in there that Ill never use.! The tent is useless never play it. The quests are always the same very repetitive on on to get the items to go forward. We will start them and then will calculate how much energy it will take and usually its t possible for anyone unless youre able to play 24/7. We have played it for for almost 10 years but never recommend it like we will do other games. You need to come up with some better ideas.
We have been playing this game since it first started back in the world winner thing and it was so much fun back then but lately you cant even make the goals that you need to make to win the prizes that you need. Im retired for goodness sakes and play it day and night and still cant make the goals.
A game with strategies and long term planning. Monsters appearing causes previous actions to reverse. Soooo muuuch time to load! Sometimes an item will freeze and appear on other players screen. But! Im still playing!
Dont expect to advance without spending $$$ we never have spent money on this gameits been fun but nearly impossible to rank high in a challenge even when spending way too many hours. Id say its a fun game to loose yourself inbasically a colorful equivalent to solitairewill gain you nothing but it does take our mind off of things. Its almost impossible to get property and we’ve had gems and it s disappear after earning it the hard way Id have give it five stars if our complaints had been addressedhave fun with itexpect nothingjust a colorful game.
Its fun to play but watch your gems (money) the can disappear without making a purchase so be very careful. And, sometimes it has glitches and you need to speak up because thats when things can disappear. It has games within the games so you can win stuff but if sometimes the quest take longer and you end up missing out and have unfinished buildings or projects. These are the only down falls. Oh, and some of the games they put you against others which they dont plan. Because if they did theyd earn a lot more money by putting these people together that line to buy a win and have them compete against each other and earn a lot more money. Then put people together that really play the game and not buy a win. Other than that it was fun without these other people.
We enjoy this game and play almost daily. We like designing and upgrading the landscapes. But we feel we cant give more than 3 stars because of all the glitches. The game randomly reloads and progress is lost. Stuff disappears from inventory. Some challenges/missions would take a year to complete if you dont choose to spend money on gems. We understand why but it gets to be discouraging. We’ve accidentally used up many gems from the game lagging and then tapping the wrong spot on the screen.
Even though we like this game, if you get a new phone, youre screwed cause unless you have receipts, they cant retrieve your account with your email address. It wont let you save progress like with township or other apps. Youll have to start from scratch and its not worth it. Also, the loading to see other communities, is super slow. Super slow! You never get new friends cause the loading is so frustrating. If they cant find our old account by Friday, Im deleting this!
We’ve been playing this have for several years. For a while now, the challenges have become extremely hard to play, not fun, but more like extremely demanding. So, we find we dont play as often due to there being nothing new and purely fun to do. It should feel like a fun game, not a demanding chore to play.
We’ve enjoyed this game for years, and we dont mind spending money to support and improve the game. Not that were seeing much improvement these days, you have to constantly force close and reload the game. What we do mind, is accidentally spending money. Thats made us cranky enough to consider quitting, that and the constant reloading. You can speed up anything and everything in the game, of course by spending gems that cost real money. Lots of items have a 7 day timer, and if you accidentally speed up one of those youre out 600-700 gems, which is over $20 real money. Theres no reason for it, other than greed. One solution would be to add an are you sure you wanna spend a crap ton of money button, like many other games do. Granted that would take a lot of effort of Storm 8s part since everything has a speed up option. Another option is not to buy gems. You do earn some free gems in the game, not many. And Im pretty sure it would make us even crankier to lose gems that took us months to collect. Or we can just quit. S8 are you willing to try to fix these issues? Things are getting worse, not better. This game used to be our favorite game, now we barely make time to collect energy. Doesnt really matter if you cant play the quests. And if you do try to play, good luck getting neighbor requests cause no one is playing. Beyond frustrating! Please fix the game! Update 09/2022. The constant reloading is better, although we dont play much anymore. They say itll get even better if you delete/sell off some of your storage. Im not sure thats true, but its an overwhelming task if youve been playing for any length at all. The storage system is a problem, its very difficult to find things, and there is SO much you cant delete. We rarely play the quests any longer, since Im totally expanded out. Im maxed on pretty much everything. We stay (for now) because we’ve invested so much time and money into the game, and Id hate to lose the friendships we’ve developed over the years. Still hoping it gets better.

We’ve been playing this game for a long time also and just like everyone else states there is never enough energy to complete more than half of the tasks. Now, the latest glitch in the game is that you are in the middle of collecting something and the game times out on you and lose all the energy you had and half of what youve collected. Like someone else mentioned there needs to be an option or double tap to speed up an item. We dont know how many times we’ve accidentally tapped on something and the next thing we know we’ve just spent our precious gems which we had no intention of. It seems that the only thing the developers want is to make money. Really tired of playing this game as it is.
