This well designed app is a great place to play chess and work on your game. The tools are amazing. We love it!
Our grandfather tried to teach us chess when we were a child. He passed away when we were young and his set has collected dust for the past 20 years. Fast forward to quarantine life. We got out the set and wanted to learn the moves. What started as a quick download to learn the moves has morphed into our favorite app. The subscription is so worth it because of the content of the videos and the challenges. We absolutely love this chess app. We’ve recruited two other friends to download it. We’ve learned so much and there is so much more to learn, but this app makes learning and playing fun. We would give it 10 stars if we could.

There are all sorts of chess that we can play, such as daily games, 10min games, 30min games and lots of tournaments to participate in. Theres also a Champion League that we like, where you try to race to the top of your league in order to reach the next level. The clubs and forums are interesting as well. Its the best app (for playing chess) we’ve ever used!
We are homeschooled and had a Chess class at Coop, and it was helpful and fun.

We could not see our whole board when playing in tournaments. The developer answered right away and resolved the issue. Thank you. Chess. Com is awesome (I love the challenges/puzzles and levels in learning, very user-friendly)
We have been playing chess on here for a little while now. We mainly play on our desktop though. When on our desktop your able to premove more than 1 move which we think you should be able to do on the mobile app. Its hard to win a time scramble on mobile, and we think it would be a good thing to add. Otherwise we love this app.
We have been thoroughly enjoying the Chess. Com app on our iPhone 11 for the past 4 months. Two days ago we got the new IPhone 14 pro and the app keeps freezing mid way through games which is really frustrating. We have tried deleting the app and reinstalling but it still happens. Dear developer please help.

We love this app. We’ve always wanted to learn chess but never took the time. Their lessons make it super simple. Its fun and easy to play with friends, its just a great app. The only thing we wish is that we could upload custom Chess Pieces and customize the Board Color beyond the presets. Just a Hex Code slider for both squares. Some of the designs for the presets are pretty dated.
Love the app and features but when Im playing bots and use hints our app will suddenly close and we lose our progress. Maybe this is a bug that came along with the recent update. Will happily rate 5 stars when this gets resolved.
Absolutely fantastic app! Great for learning the fundamentals of chess on every level. Just wish there would be way to analyze your games without having to pay. Its hard to learn lessons once a week too, you know.
Good app but the opening explorer seems to have disappeared from the menu, even though we still have premium. What happened?
This website is a fantastic way to learn and practice chess for free. In our opinion its the best. But with so many lessons on its guide how can any free user get any use out of them while having it wait a week at a time to watch the next lesson? We understand there has to be some reward for the subscription but with all the other stuff a week seems far to long to compensate. We would love to see it reduced to a very other day at the least. Other wise you loose attention of the lessons and dont bother to come back and watch them. Kind regards -SS.
When we try to play others online it doesnt show the right side of the board, it cuts off the the 2 furthest to the right lanes, please help, we’ve tried different solutions.
The functionality of the application is great. Strong computer chess engines and good computer personalities for self play as well as decent matching for human opponents near our level. However the application has crashed on us several times. In most cases making a graceful recovery without us loosing any state but still a knock. Also sometimes the computer chess engine just stops playing and has to be restarted. We would like more options on the analysis area to filter where it pauses for our review and perhaps just a simple forward and back or an option to remove every move one by one with a pause so we can review both our moves and our opponents.
Friend rage quit in a match and nothing happened, we turned off our phone and a few minutes later we checked back and it said we abandoned the match, 7/10.
Mostly the main problem for us is that we get a lot so disadvantages being, "non premium", like we can only watch on lesson a day so it will probably take a while to get better. Other then this the game is okay.
Its only exclusive to playing real players puzzles and so work fine. Multiplayer cuts out the last column.
Chess 960 crashes or stalls on the iOS app. Will change rating ounce this is addressed.
The app is great, except that it freezes midgame. Pretty maddening when your trying to enjoy a match.
We have loved this app and am a premium member but – – the most recent update took away the ability to see three possible engine lines displayed as arrows. Now you can only see the best move, and one other engine suggestion in notation form at the top. We really liked being able to workshop our games right after by experimenting with all three possible. We also miss the arrow format, instead of having to scan our eyes up and down to the top. Could you bring back the option to display three analysis arrows on screen instead of just one on screen and one in notation form?
After an abstinence of 55 years its enjoyable to play again. However, on two occasions, our game with a opponent just disappears. After the first time we deleted the app and reloaded. Then the same thing happened. Im going to delete and reload the app again and see what happens.
This is our favorite chess app which is why we purchased the Platinum subscription. However, we give it 3 stars because they set our auto renewal to Diamond membership @ double the price. Be cautious if you subscribe.
The latest release of the Chess. Com iOS app introduced a serious bug. Now, anytime you use the back button to retry a move, the computer opponent freezes; you have to force quit the app to continue playing. If you use the forward & back buttons repeatedly, the app wholesale crashes. This was not the case with the prior version.
App keeps crashing. We’ve been reinstalling it and turn off phone.
Good app, however the latest update has made playing vs bots somewhat unusable. App freezes multiple times during games, and requires user to close / reopen app / re-enter game before opponent bot makes a move.
Best online chess multiplayer app but they nag you to join the paid subscription pretty much every time you open it and limit too many features to get you to pay.
